    Perfect for guests who want to relax at their own pace.

    I stayed for two nights to relax on my own. Overall, I felt this Accommodation is perfect for anyone who wants to unwind at their own pace. There was almost no interaction with staff except at check-in/out and during meals. Even on a Multiple Night Stay, towels and other items were prepared in advance in the Room, and there was no housekeeping, so I could truly relax on my own schedule. There is no escorted Room guidance like you often find at a luxury Hotel or Ryokan. The front desk explanation was thorough, so I had no trouble finding my Room. Personally, I prefer this style, but it may not suit guests looking for that kind of special treatment. As others have mentioned, the building and Facility clearly show their age, but it felt appropriate for what it is. Many areas have been renovated, and I didn’t feel inconvenienced. The Onsen was also extremely pleasant. That said, there were some cleanliness issues in the Room (a torn shoji screen; long hair left in the wash area; a clump of dust near the door hinge; cobwebs near the top of the shower booth). While aging facilities are understandable, it felt unfortunate that some aspects that could be improved with more careful cleaning were overlooked. Also—this can’t really be helped—but insects seem to gather along the path to the open-air bath attached to the Room and around the shower booth, so please be careful when stepping out… (My eyesight isn’t great and I ended up stepping on some without noticing.) The meals were very delicious. I also appreciated that they varied the menu across my Multiple Night Stay, and they kindly offered refills as well. Most of the staff had a pleasant atmosphere and kept a comfortable distance. In particular, the dining staff were polite and warm in both their manner and their words, which made me feel at ease. Since I was traveling alone with no one to talk to, even being asked “Were you able to relax?” felt genuinely kind and comforting. My goal was simply to unwind somewhere different from everyday life—enjoy good food and an Onsen—so I’m grateful that I could relax this much at this price point. Thank you for a wonderful stay. I hope to visit again.

    We stayed for one ni...

    We stayed for one night on July 31. There were some Reviews saying there were insects or that the cleaning was not thorough, but in a natural forest setting, it would be strange if there were no insects. The Room was well cleaned. All eight of us in the family agreed it was great. We will visit again. Thank you very much.

    We had a relaxing stay.

    This was our first visit to Atami and Izu, and we stayed at an Accommodation with a private open-air bath in the Room. While the Facility felt a bit dated, we were able to relax and enjoy ourselves—the open-air bath in the Room was wonderful, and the meals were delicious. At breakfast, my companion had a slight headache, and the staff noticed even small gestures and kindly checked in on us. The hospitality was excellent. The large public bath at night was quiet enough to feel like we had it all to ourselves, though it was a little scary too (in a funny way).

    I was looking forward to the open-air hot spring bath with free-flowing water, but

    The open-air hot spring bath in the Room was difficult for elderly guests to get in and out of. It would have been better if there were something to hold onto or a step inside the tub. The staff at check-in were unfriendly. The staff at check-out were very pleasant.

    Family-friendly for guests with young children

    Thank you for all your thoughtful care and attention. We really enjoyed the lounge drink bar, the selection of alcoholic beverages, the complimentary ice cream service, and the all-you-can-drink option at dinner. The kids’ meal was more than enough to finish. Next time, we’d love to come back as a couple and relax at our own pace.

    A quiet and relaxing Hotel

    The Accommodation had a somewhat refined, quiet, and relaxing atmosphere, and I was able to unwind. Breakfast was average, but at dinner I wanted to enjoy drinks at a leisurely pace; however, the seats were so close together that the loud voices of the guests on both sides bothered me. I couldn’t relax, which was very disappointing. Since there were few guests and plenty of seating available, I think it would have been more comfortable if a little more consideration had been given. Otherwise, I was satisfied.

    I had a great time with my classmates.

    It was a trip with four college classmates. Two of us live in the Tokyo metropolitan area, I live in Hamamatsu, and another lives in the U.S., so we rarely get the chance to meet. We stayed here because we wanted to relax and catch up at an Onsen. The meals and the all-inclusive plan exceeded our expectations, and everyone was delighted. The only disappointment was finding a cockroach in our Room. We also enjoyed karaoke and table tennis, and next time I’d like to come with my family.

    The surroundings and...

    The surroundings and the Onsen in the Room were excellent. We only had breakfast, but it was delicious. We stayed for two nights, but there were only two hangers in the Room and no cups for drinking water, which was inconvenient. My biggest complaint was an unpleasant odor. I wrote directly to the Hotel about it, but it was disappointing because the Onsen in the Room was otherwise outstanding.

    We had a relaxing stay.

    I checked in right around 3:00 PM, so I was able to relax at a very leisurely pace. The Onsen was also spacious and comfortable. Dinner was Japanese cuisine served course by course according to the menu, and I felt both the taste and portion size were just right. I also appreciated that most alcoholic drinks were available free of charge. Our Room was in the cottage building, but the hallway there seemed to have a slight musty smell. Also, the bed mattress was too firm for me, so it wasn’t very comfortable to sleep on. The atmosphere of the buildings and courtyard was wonderful, and being surrounded by forest was very soothing.

    It was very relaxing.

    Thank you very much for taking care of us. I first visited with my mother three years ago and it became a favorite, and since then I have stayed here with my children and grandchildren. This time, I had the pleasure of staying with my husband. The Room with an open-air bath was comfortable and quiet, and the meals were delicious. The portions were just right—not the kind you often find at a Ryokan where there is too much to finish. As it was a weekday and there were fewer guests, we were able to relax in the large bath’s open-air area while gazing at the night sky. We also enjoyed the slow, peaceful time in the lounge and around the pond, which was truly soothing. After returning home, my husband even thanked me—he especially loved being able to fully enjoy drinks and said he really liked the open-air bath. The staff’s service was also very pleasant. This is an Accommodation we would definitely love to visit again.

    It wasn’t what I expected.

    All the Hotel staff were kind, and I’m sorry to sound picky, but the bathroom sink wouldn’t drain, so I cleaned the drain myself. When that happens, it doesn’t feel comfortable using the cups or the kettle either. I guess it was my mistake choosing this place just because of cheap drinks.

    Anniversary

    I made a Reservation for a Room with an open-air bath to celebrate my 77th birthday, but we couldn’t arrange an anniversary surprise because the cake shop had closed. During dinner, a staff member came to offer congratulatory greetings, which was very nice. Thank you. I reserved a Room with an open-air bath, but the bath temperature was almost like cold water. When I checked in at the front desk, I was told that the valve had already been adjusted and not to touch it. I wanted to use the open-air bath right away, so this was disappointing. Even at night the temperature didn’t rise, so I opened the valve myself, but it still didn’t warm up much. I checked again in the morning; it was slightly warmer, so I used it then. It was very disappointing. I wish they had checked and managed the temperature properly.

    The Onsen was great.

    I’ve stayed here several times, but this time something happened that made me feel uneasy and lose trust.\nAfter checking in, only about 15 minutes had passed and I was in the Room putting down and organizing my luggage when the door suddenly opened. I’m not sure if it was a staff member, but we made eye contact and I was shocked. They only said “Sorry” and then left.\nI expected some explanation afterward, but there was none, which felt very unsettling.\nAlso, the carpet was covered in stains, which honestly felt creepy. At night I could hear snoring from the next Room and couldn’t sleep at all. Maybe the walls are thin? I didn’t notice it last time...\nOn the positive side, the bath was nice.\nThe food was good as well, and the woman who served us at dinner was kind and welcoming, which made me feel at ease.

    This was my first st...

    This was my first stay. I was worried the location might be hard to find, but there were clear signs at key points, so I arrived without any trouble. The Hotel is divided into the main building, villa wing, and large public bath area, and I thought I might get lost, but I was able to move around easily—enjoying drinks in the main lounge and going to the restaurant for meals without confusion. The open-air bath in my Room was spacious and comfortable, with an easy-to-adjust water temperature, so I ended up not going to the large public bath since it was a bit far. The meals featured seasonal ingredients; the fried Spanish mackerel and bamboo shoots in dashi broth were especially delicious, and I enjoyed grilling the Japanese wagyu sirloin on a ceramic plate myself. Grating fresh hon-wasabi myself and eating it over rice as a wasabi bowl was a valuable first-time experience. The free-flow drinks included beer that tasted excellent. Overall, it felt very reasonably priced with outstanding value for money. I would love to stay again.

    When we checked the ...

    When we checked the in-room open-air bath right after check-in, the tub was only about one-quarter full and the water temperature was too low to bathe. We contacted the front desk and a staff member came to check, but they initially suggested that “other guests may be using a lot of hot water” or asked whether we had “operated it,” which made it sound as if the issue was on our side. The problem was not resolved, and staff had to come in and out repeatedly, so we were unable to relax during our stay. We chose this Accommodation specifically looking forward to the in-room open-air bath, so it was extremely disappointing that we ultimately could not use it. There were also concerns with the Facility. The Room’s ventilation fan had mold- or dust-like buildup, there was grime around the sink drain, the mattress was hard with springs pressing into my body so I could not rest comfortably, and the hair dryer had weak airflow with an unstable moving part that made it difficult to use. Although we were told this was a “special Room,” we could not use the key feature—the open-air bath—and could not get proper rest. Under those circumstances, I could not accept that only a 30% discount was offered. I understand that changing Rooms may have been difficult due to full occupancy, but in that case I would have wanted an alternative solution more appropriate for the situation or a response I could better accept. It is rare for my partner and me to have time off together for work reasons, and this trip was finally an opportunity for us to spend time together. However, what we hoped for did not happen; instead we were left shocked at having paid significant costs without getting what we expected. Afterward, when I checked Reviews, it seemed there had been similar issues with in-room open-air baths in the past. If I had known beforehand, I would not have chosen this Accommodation. I strongly hope you will improve Facility maintenance and your response when problems occur so that similar issues are not repeated.

    I’m very particular about the small details.

    Good Points - In-room open-air bath - All-you-can-drink during meals - Drink bar in the lobby after meals Points of Concern - Dust buildup on the toilet ventilation vent - Red mold around the drain - The hair dryer is old and has weak power - The hallway smells musty Because it was an Accommodation introduced by IKYU, I had high expectations, but honestly there were many disappointing points. To use the large public bath, you have to go outside. I tried it once, but the in-room open-air bath was more than enough for me. The food was good, but not to the point where I would want to return. It felt like attention to detail was lacking, and I wish improvements were made more from a guest’s perspective. Overall satisfaction was low; if I’m paying the same price, I would rather stay at another Ryokan.

    I booked using the last-minute discount.

    I made a Reservation expecting to arrive at night. The car navigation system didn’t work well, and I got quite lost driving around the villa area. Once I switched to Google Maps, I arrived smoothly. Because it was dark, I couldn’t really see the surroundings, but in the morning I noticed how beautiful the courtyard was. The Room is a bit old, but it’s spacious and relaxing. The path to the large public bath was dark and a little scary, but the bath itself was clean. It rained in the morning so I skipped it; getting around on rainy days can be tough. It was nice to have a cold beer in the lounge after bathing. Breakfast was very delicious—especially the freshly grilled dried fish. The sea urchin shiitake was also great, and I ended up buying some to take home. Overall, it was excellent value for money.

    We were very satisfied with both the meals and the Onsen.

    We stayed for two nights in a Superior Twin with an open-air Onsen bath. The Room was spacious, and being able to bathe whenever we liked allowed us to fully enjoy the open-air Onsen. Both dinner and breakfast were delicious. It reminded us once again how wonderful Japanese cuisine is. After breakfast, we took a walk around the Hotel garden, but more than the garden itself, we loved the natural quiet—broken only by the beautiful songs of wild birds—and the fresh, clean breeze. We look forward to returning someday to savor the meals and Onsen again, and to enjoy a truly relaxing stay.

    Forest Spring: Third Visit

    Beer was offered as a welcome drink. I enjoyed it very much. The Room, bath, and sauna were all very satisfying. I also thoroughly enjoyed the food and drinks. The soup dish with itawarabi and shrimp dumpling was excellent. It was my first time trying itawarabi, but I loved the texture—it was delicious. I would like to visit in every season.     We had a relaxing stay!

    I stayed with No Meals Included because I have an acquaintance nearby. The bath was also very nice. I didn’t have much time to relax at the Accommodation, so next time I’d like to enjoy it a bit more. The Accommodation isn’t new, but it was thoroughly cleaned and made for a very comfortable stay.

    All-inclusive.

    Although it is described as all-inclusive, there are time limits and the selection provided is quite limited. Please consider learning from other Hotels—more and more now offer a wider variety, such as muffins and croquettes. Also, please note that while it is called an Onsen, it is not free-flowing from the source. The bath in the Room was the largest I have ever had, spacious enough for two people with room to spare.

    We had a relaxing stay.

    We were able to enjoy a relaxing, unhurried trip to Izu. Mt. Omuro and Lake Ippeki are nearby, and this time we visited mainly for Sakura-no-Sato and the Museum of 20th Century Art. It feels like an excellent location—perfect for indoor sightseeing on rainy days and for walks when the weather is nice. Although it unfortunately rained, we enjoyed banana chips and alcohol in the lounge, relaxed with a soak in the bath, and had a delicious dinner. We were surprised that some drinks, including alcohol, were available free of charge at dinner. We also appreciated having after-dinner coffee in the lounge. On our way to the Hotel, our car navigation system couldn’t find it, so we called and received kind directions that helped us arrive safely. The next day was sunny, and we enjoyed Mt. Omuro along with cherry blossoms in full bloom at Sakura-no-Sato. My mother, who is 80 years old, also seemed very satisfied. Thank you very much.

    Moon and Hot Spring Night Music Gathering

    This Accommodation offered outstanding value for money. The evening before, we suddenly decided to go to Izu Kogen to see the cherry blossoms. While looking for an Accommodation, we chose this place because it offered live violin and piano performances. The building and lush garden felt like a luxurious space. The building and our Room do feel a bit dated, but everything was kept very clean, which was great. We also enjoyed the large public bath comfortably. As for the meals, considering the accommodation cost, we were satisfied—though we would have been even happier with just a little more volume. Since it is all-inclusive, we had beer in the lounge from check-in, and at night we attended the “Tsuki to Izumi” evening concert and listened to live violin and piano music. It turned into a very satisfying trip.

    A lovely Western-style Accommodation

    This was my first stay, and it was a very comfortable Hotel. It seems to be a popular Accommodation—there were many cars, and we had to wait a little at check-in, which made me feel that lots of guests were arriving. The restaurant was lively at dinner time, but the large public bath felt almost private with only five people, and the free-drink lounge was not crowded either. I was able to relax and enjoy it at my own pace. With the Western-style building, stained glass, and a fountain pond—and the Room being spacious and charming—it felt like being abroad. The sink area, toilet, and bath were all new, and it was nice that everything around the water facilities was so clean. Breakfast wasn’t a buffet; it featured delicious local ingredients. This is a Hotel I’d love to return to—thank you for taking care of us.

    This is a Hotel I would happily stay at again.

    We would have appreciated smoother meal service. There was a period of about 10 minutes with nothing to eat, so we asked the attendant. However, the gaps were too long, and we ended up feeling full and left some of the later dishes. The food was delicious, so it was disappointing. The bed mattress sank quite a bit around the lower back area. The Onsen in the Room was wonderful and made us very happy. The water felt like lotion. It was an Onsen we would like to use again. Overall, our satisfaction level was high on average. Thank you very much.
