    It was a valuable accommodation.

    The room was satisfactory, and the all-inclusive services such as drinks were also satisfying. The bath had no particular features, but it was enjoyable when not crowded. However, I was disappointed that my request to borrow a fruit knife for dining in the room was declined. Considering many guests may dine in their rooms, I hope for more flexibility in such cases. I will use this accommodation again on my next visit to Izu.

    The meals were mostly delicious, especially the freshly cooked rice which was excellent. It would have been nice if there were a wider variety of tastier snacks in the lounge. I felt lucky to be offered an upgrade for the Room.

    Rooms with Open-Air Bath

    We made a last-minute reservation for a room with an open-air bath the day before our visit. Since it was in the villa building, moving to the large public bath and lounge was slightly inconvenient, but the room's bath was spacious enough for two people, allowing us to relax comfortably. The food was also delicious.

    It was more about the Hida beef than the alcohol...

    It was a disappointing stay. - I inquired about the shuttle service from Kawana Station via email through the accommodation's official website, but received no response. - The IKYU.com plan details stated, "<※Beer is not included in the alcohol provided in the lounge.>" Understanding this, I went to the lounge and saw a beer server. Assuming it was just for display, I didn’t touch it. But was beer actually available? If so, this feels like "honesty doesn’t pay," doesn’t it? - Since my wife doesn’t drink alcohol, I asked at the front desk to have rice prepared from the start of dinner. They said, "We’ll inform the restaurant staff just in case, but please also tell them yourself when you’re there." What’s the point of telling you then? In the end, 30 minutes into dinner and still no rice appeared. The pot of rice on our table wasn’t even lit. After 60 minutes had passed since we started eating, only half of what was listed on our menu had been served and there was no sign of Hida beef arriving yet. Spending an hour with only half of our meal served made my wife feel full already. When she finally told a Japanese staff member that "it’s been 60 minutes since we started and only half has arrived," they brought out all remaining dishes at once! We chose this plan because I wanted my wife to enjoy Hida beef; however she could only eat two slices before finishing her meal. - The restaurant staff serving alcohol seemed indifferent and unfriendly. - Despite these issues during our stay: foreign staff at restaurants were good; check-in staff were helpful; shuttle service staff were kind; both dinner/breakfast tasted great; public bath facilities were excellent; room quality met expectations. - For those who are not focused on drinking alcohol during their stay: this accommodation may not be highly recommended as meals take too long to be served properly! While being able to enjoy Hida beef without traveling all way up Gifu initially attracted us into making reservation here...

    A Perfect Solo Trip

    The garden, common areas, bath, and rooms are all incredibly spacious. The building itself is solidly constructed with luxurious details such as lighting and stained glass. (It is said to have been built as a reception facility for a major insurance company.) Flowers and herbs by the windows, trees in the garden, the koi pond, and walking paths all reflect the daily efforts of the staff. The lounge, equipped with drinks and snacks, features beautifully arranged furniture for a rich and relaxing time. The villa rooms are sufficiently spacious with semi-open-air terraces that are also very large. The lighting is elegant, creating a classical atmosphere. Although located in a separate building, the large public bath offers an amazing experience where you can relax while enjoying forest views in an expansive space. Meals were perfectly portioned for both dinner and breakfast with delicious dishes; especially the simmered golden-eye snapper was tender and flavorful. Desserts focused on seasonal fruits were also delightful. As free drinks were available, I enjoyed plum wine on the rocks. The front desk staff and those who provided shuttle service offered warm hospitality that made it clear why there are so many repeat guests (I will be one of them). With high-quality spaces complemented by heartfelt service—even though there are some signs of age—the overall experience was serene enough to more than make up for it.

    Hospitality and Non-Circulating Open-Air Bath

    I stayed for a Multiple Night Stay of two nights. The renovated Hotel had a focus on creating an appealing exterior atmosphere. When I called the reception to confirm some details and asked for recommended sightseeing spots since I would be traveling by train and the weather looked good, I was told, "I'm not from around here, so I don't know. Please use the tourist leaflets available." On the second day, however, when taking the shuttle service to Kawana Station, the driver kindly asked about my plans for the day. When I inquired about recommendations instead, he suggested Komuroyama or Omuroyama as great spots with potential views of Mt. Fuji due to clear weather. He also provided detailed information on how to get there from Kawana or Ito and even reassured me about return bus options. Thanks to his exceptional hospitality, I was able to enjoy breathtaking scenery. If only reception staff shared this level of hospitality—such as informing guests during inquiries that there is a first-come-first-served firefly viewing shuttle service available for those staying multiple nights—it could have created priceless memories (I later learned advance reservation before check-in was required). Starting with negative impressions like seeing countless moths and insects floating in an uncirculated morning open-air bath or experiencing dismissive behavior when showing photos for a deer monument game left me disappointed with one receptionist's attitude. While beautiful garden flowers, delicious meals served at dinner, warm smiles from restaurant staff who welcomed us warmly and even took time out of their busy schedules to take photos made our stay pleasant overall—the lackluster reception experience overshadowed these positives significantly.

    All-inclusive is the best!

    We used the 1-night stay with 2 meals Plan for two people, including my husband. The Room, lounge, restaurant, and bath were all wonderful and very comfortable, making us feel truly elegant. The free drinks were also a great touch. We were extremely satisfied and would love to use it again.

    Hotel Stay

    During check-in, we were informed that from 10:00 to 15:00, due to cleaning, the Onsen and lounge would not be available, and we were also asked to leave the room. Since our main purpose was enjoying the Onsen and we had no plans for sightseeing, we suggested setting a specific time for room cleaning so that we could wait in the lobby during that period. However, a younger male staff member at the front desk gave us an unpleasant look and silently walked away into the back office. This left us feeling disheartened and ruined our excitement for what was supposed to be a fun trip. The Hotel building is old but has renovated water facilities which were convenient and clean overall. However, both the toilet and indoor sink seemed neglected with visible dirt. It might be better to clean these areas occasionally as stains like limescale can become harder to remove over time. Additionally, it was surprising that there was no BS channel on TV in this day and age. The pillow provided was small with only one per person, making it uncomfortable to sleep. On a positive note, meals were served in appropriate portions with beautiful presentation; they tasted delicious as well. The staff during meal service were friendly and attentive—this aspect of our stay was truly redeeming!

    The food was absolutely delicious.

    We stayed as a group of three adults. The food was absolutely delicious, especially the fish dishes which were exceptional. At first, we wondered if the portions might be too small since each dish was elegantly served in modest amounts, but by the end, all three of us were completely full! Breakfast also offered a variety of dishes that paired perfectly with rice, allowing us to enjoy different flavors little by little. The dashi chazuke was particularly delightful. Although we initially thought there was too much rice in the container, we ended up finishing it all! The surprise cake was also a hit—my husband especially loved how tasty the sponge cake was. However, there were some disappointments: there were cobwebs in one corner of our room which made my son nervous about encountering a large spider since he’s afraid of them; the outdoor bath in the large public Onsen area wasn’t available due to maintenance issues; and as non-drinkers who had been looking forward to enjoying popcorn at the lounge, it wasn’t available either. Because of these factors related to Onsen and facilities, I gave four stars for those aspects. That said, this Hotel left us wanting to stay another night or two because it provided such a relaxing experience overall. The unforgettable taste of their cuisine will surely bring us back again someday! Thank you for providing such a wonderful time!

    Healing Accommodation

    Surrounded by lush greenery, the courtyard features a pond with koi swimming gracefully. From the moment you arrive, you're enveloped in a nostalgic and calming atmosphere. This is my fifth stay since my first visit in February last year, and I am always thoroughly satisfied. This time, I was delighted to stay in a room in the main building for the first time and enjoy a different view from the window. The lounge offers a variety of drinks, allowing you to relax while admiring the garden. Lovely fresh flowers are displayed throughout the accommodation. It’s my favorite accommodation among all those I've stayed at so far. The meals are delicious, and all staff provide exceptionally attentive hospitality. I look forward to visiting again soon!

    The classic Western-style building was lovely.

    As expected, it was a Western-style building with carefully selected furnishings and interior design. Moreover, having an open-air bath attached to the Room is a rare combination, and the atmosphere was excellent. Walking through the courtyard while listening to birdsong made me feel refreshed. The dinner menu seemed thoughtfully prepared for this price range. However, I was disappointed by how unappetizing the white rice was. If you could serve rice cooked in an earthen pot, it would greatly enhance satisfaction with the meal—please consider this suggestion. The all-inclusive option is highly recommended for those who enjoy alcohol. I could relax and enjoy beer or coffee freely in the lounge without any hesitation. Thank you very much!

    Poor service

    We stayed for my grandchild's birthday, but both the meals and the Facility were the worst among those we have used through IKYU. The Facility had issues such as an unusable drainage system in the Room's home bar, and the dining room was cold due to low room temperature. The open-air bath had no water in it. Additionally, we ordered a higher-grade meal using local ingredients, but it was not tasty and very disappointing. There was no welcome, farewell, or guidance to our Room—absolutely terrible service.

    I reserved a room with an onsen to relax. The hotel has some older features, but the lounge with stained glass creates a charming and classical atmosphere. Although I arrived late for check-in, the staff was very welcoming and provided excellent service. In the evening, the lounge offered drinks, allowing me to enjoy a relaxing time with snacks and beverages. Since I spent most of my time unwinding in the room, I look forward to trying out the large public bath during my next visit. Thank you!

    Best Value Accommodation

    I stayed here with friends for a girls' trip. The Spanish-style building had a charming atmosphere, and we enjoyed chatting in the lounge with free-flow drinks and light snacks—it was perfect. The onsen was spacious and relaxing, the meals were delicious, and having all-inclusive drinks, including alcohol during meals, was a great touch! We booked during a time-limited sale, so the quality of the meals exceeded expectations for the price.     Rooms & Amenities The room was average. After the terrible experience leading up to check-in, entering the room provided a small sense of relief. If the room had also been disappointing, it would have made for a truly awful trip. Customer Service When attempting to leave our luggage before check-in, the front desk was unattended with lights off, giving the impression that the hotel was not operational. Even after ringing the bell, there was no response and no staff appeared until we called out loudly. The staff who eventually came out offered robotic and impersonal service, making us regret choosing this hotel and creating an uncomfortable atmosphere among our group. The only positive interaction came from a female staff member during dinner who kindly assisted with arranging a taxi and left a good impression. However, all other front desk interactions were unfriendly; at checkout, we were curtly told that luggage storage was unavailable due to full occupancy without any empathy or warmth in their tone. Additionally, there was no mention of shuttle service as advertised on their site—hospitality seemed almost nonexistent throughout our stay. Onsen & Bathing Facilities The bath on the first floor featured amenities like a sauna and cold bath which were satisfying. However, the second-floor bath lacked these features; its lukewarm outdoor Onsen felt inadequate during colder seasons compared to what we experienced downstairs earlier. Facilities Due to being in detached rooms by design, accessing baths or dining areas required walking outdoors—a noticeable inconvenience during colder weather. Dining The food itself tasted excellent and exceeded expectations in quality. One minor issue was that drink orders had to be written down on paper and submitted at the counter—a process that felt slightly cumbersome given how high-caliber everything else about dining here was; smoother service would have enhanced this experience further.

    It was a very satisfying stay.

    We stayed for a multiple night stay in a twin room with an onsen open-air bath. Overall, it was an extremely satisfying stay. The room was spacious enough, impeccably clean, and very comfortable. The private onsen open-air bath was particularly excellent, with ample space, a roof to shield from rain, and even a bench for relaxation. The amenities were satisfactory as well; since it was a multiple night stay, towels, drinking water, and trash bags were all prepared for two nights—this thoughtful consideration left a great impression. The quality of the meals was high, and all drinks including alcoholic beverages were included in the accommodation fee. The service quality struck the perfect balance between attentiveness and maintaining an appropriate distance—making it very pleasant overall. The only minor issue occurred during dinner on the first day when there seemed to be delays in serving due to what appeared to be higher guest numbers that evening. This resulted in some idle time which led us to drink more than intended! However, this is not uncommon at European restaurants where such pacing allows guests to enjoy conversation and drinks leisurely. Dinner service on the second day went smoothly with prompt serving—a distinctly Japanese style of hospitality that we found equally delightful. Immediately after returning home, we made our next reservation for another repeat stay!

    Private new discovery, the 303rd Property. Shuttle Service available from Kawana Station. It seems to have originally been a company retreat Facility. Although there is some aging, it is a lovely Western-style building nestled in a 6,000 tsubo forest. The low Review ratings are mostly due to lack of research, experience, and high expectations, so they are not worth worrying about. I don't expect to drink delicious champagne or wine at this price; as always, I was blessed with clear weather and could see Mt. Fuji. For a solo trip with an open-air bath Room and inclusive pricing at this rate, I'm very satisfied. I also enjoyed free karaoke with another solo female traveler I met for the first time; even the staff were laughing along. We talked about various things on the same train back but parted ways without knowing each other's names or contact information—another joy of traveling. I'd like to visit again someday soon. 〇Room To reach the villa building requires walking through an external garden for a bit. In wintertime when going to the large public bath or restaurant can be cold; it's recommended you bring something warm to wear over your clothes.     The view of Mount Fuji from the bath was excellent.

    Although the building is somewhat old, it is luxuriously constructed and allowed for a relaxing stay. It was a very cold day, but the lukewarm Onsen made my body feel warm. The meals were beautiful and delicious. Most of the staff were kind and made my stay pleasant, although there was a slight disappointment due to differences in service depending on the staff member. Since I was satisfied with the Onsen and meals, which were the purpose of my trip, I would like to visit again.

    The cover photo was beautiful, but the actual location exceeded expectations with its stunning facilities. The public spaces were spacious, and the furnishings were luxurious.     It was a place we visited in summer. At check-in, there were no smiles, and the atmosphere was not very welcoming. Since it was a villa Room, we had to walk along the outdoor corridor to get to the bath or the restaurant. More consideration for winter guests would have been appreciated. There were no tabi socks or thick outerwear provided, so we had to move around in yukata. The restaurant was also cold, and we borrowed a lap blanket. It was disappointing that the staff, who did not understand much Japanese, could not grasp the finer nuances of our requests. The timing of the meals being served was slow, and they only brought the food after we prompted them. It took 25 minutes for the rice on the table to cook, and there was no explanation about this at the beginning. It felt like we were eating at the Hotel's pace rather than as guests, which made it unenjoyable. The Room appeared clean, but the gaps in the chairs were full of dust, and one of the bedside lamps was repaired with duct tape but remained broken. The Onsen in the Room was large, with a hot temperature and a shower, which was nice. The Shuttle Service should have been better coordinated with the train schedule. Since it wasn’t too cold, we managed to wait outside for over 20 minutes, but it was still inconvenient. As the station had no waiting room, this should have been taken into consideration. Overall, it was a disappointing Property.

    A Quiet Hotel in a Villa Area

    Due to its location and size, it is unlikely that large groups will visit, making it a quiet and peaceful Hotel. The only downside was the delay in serving free drinks during meals. Although the limited number of staff may make it challenging, we encourage you to review operations and keep up the good work!
