    The staff we encountered were all pleasant and considerate, never forgetting even the smallest gestures of kindness. The bath allowed us to enjoy a bit of an open-air feeling, providing a relaxing experience. We are grateful to everyone.

    A property you would like to visit again

    After 8 months, we were able to stay again at our beloved Fufu Nara. With its clean and serene atmosphere and dignified air, my husband and I agreed, "Nara is really nice," feeling satisfied. This time, we also visited the long-awaited bar and enjoyed delicious drinks and cocktails. Of course, the delicious food and the bath in the Room were wonderful, but it was the staff's warm smiles and hospitality that truly soothed us as we purchased souvenirs before heading home. It's a Property we'd love to visit again!

    Anniversary for Two

    We stayed at Fufu Nara as a couple. Celebrating each other's birthdays has become an annual tradition since last year. This is my fifth time at Fufu, and I absolutely love it. The room's atmosphere, the open-air bath, the delicious food, and the staff's attentiveness were all perfect, including the shuttle service to the restaurant because it was cold. I will come again as a reward for myself. Thank you very much.

    It was a bit disappointing.

    This was my first visit. The location, rooms, and Onsen were all wonderful. The bamboo grove on the way to the dining area added a unique charm that made it an experience unlike any other. What was disappointing was the service from the staff in charge of dinner. I appreciated having cushions and lap blankets provided. However, when listening to how other tables were being served, there were detailed explanations about dishes like Jinenjo Senbei and Kihada Sauce to enhance enjoyment of the meal, but our server only gave straightforward explanations that could be found in the menu. There was no mention of changes for my pregnancy-related menu (though it could be understood from looking at the menu; an additional explanation would have been reassuring). Hearing about a chef's dedication is part of travel's charm, so this was very disappointing. Also, they took a photo with steak for us but did not check it afterwards; upon leaving I noticed that due to poor angle no steak appeared in it... This feeling wasn't present at other "Fufu" locations I've visited before either! I'd love another visit if differences among staff’s service can improve!

    The meals, especially the sashimi and hot pot, are exquisite!

    This was my second time at Fufu Nara. The room, bath, and meals were excellent. The sashimi was so delicious that I would give it the highest rating, especially as a fish lover. I took a bath six times. A word about the service. I was told that breakfast was on a first-come, first-served basis, so it was at 9 o'clock. I wanted to check out by 10 o'clock, so they changed it for me, but it would have been nice to specify this when I left my luggage before check-in or at the reservation stage. Also, during my stay, I passed by the staff several times, but there was not even a bow, and I was surprised that even though I made eye contact with the front desk staff during breakfast, there was no "Good morning." Not everyone was like that, and the dining staff were very pleasant, which made it all the more disappointing. It's a property I would like to visit again, so with high expectations, I have deducted points for customer service.

    Completely Satisfied!! Highly Recommended Hotel in Nara

    The building features architecture and furnishings that evoke the essence of Nara, with serene guest rooms and spacious semi-open-air baths that are impeccably clean. The Onsen, infused with medicinal herbs, exceeded expectations. Whether it's the charm of this compact 30-room Hotel or the corporate mindset of this group, the customer service strikes the perfect balance of attentiveness. Unlike overly polished service styles that can feel formal and intimidating, the thoughtful care here is delivered without any sense of imposition, reflecting the personality and work ethic of each staff member. This was evident not only with the housekeeping staff but also with the front desk and restaurant teams, which was truly impressive. As a Nara resident familiar with the phrase "Daibutsu business," I can confidently recommend this Hotel. One small request: I wanted to purchase the lotion and gel provided in the guest rooms at the gift shop, but the gel was out of stock. When I checked online, I found that the lotion was also out of stock. It would be wonderful if the inventory could be replenished, as these products were exceptionally pleasant to use. I am already looking forward to visiting again later this year.

    Very satisfied!

    As expected, it was a wonderful Stays. I am very satisfied. The location is also excellent. A morning walk to Kasuga Taisha and Todai-ji is such a luxury... I thought the outdoor bath might be cold, but the water temperature was perfect all three times. All the staff were very kind. Thank you very much.

    It was a wonderful collaboration of hospitality.

    I informed in advance that my wife was pregnant, and the staff paid attention to various aspects such as meals and escorting. They arranged a separate menu for raw foods, allowing us to spend our time with peace of mind. It was a Hotel I would like to visit again.

    Great satisfaction

    It had been a while, but this was our 6th stay. It is our favorite Stays for a relaxing getaway nearby. Once again, there was nothing to complain about with the Room, the open-air bath, and the service, and the response to NG ingredients was perfect, which was very helpful. We plan to visit regularly again.

    We stayed for one night as a couple on New Year's Eve.

    The room on the second floor offers a calm atmosphere, with a spacious balcony where an open-air bath constantly circulates hot water, allowing you to bathe at a comfortable temperature at any time. Outside, the trees are lush, and numerous birds are always chirping. I was able to enjoy a relaxing bath. For dinner and breakfast, you can either walk up the slope of a small hill to the restaurant building via stairs resembling a hiking trail or request a shuttle service by car. We opted for the shuttle service. We chose Japanese cuisine for our meal, and the delicate flavors were impeccable and satisfying. However, the only disappointing aspect was the noise of children beyond the privacy curtains, as this restaurant is open to both guests and the general public. Nevertheless, the room exuded a sense of high quality, and I was satisfied with being able to enjoy the open-air bath multiple times during our stay. Additionally, since it was New Year's Eve, warm soba was served to our room after dinner.

    It was good.

    All the improvements mentioned last time were made. Next time, I would like a bottle of milk for coffee and some tea bags to be provided from the start. I accidentally broke the used tea bag holder. I apologize for that. The food was delicious and it was good. I would have liked some vegetable chip-like snacks in the Room. I might come again in winter, thank you.

    Our five stars.

    It was very good. The staff maintained a perfect balance of being attentive yet not intrusive, and they responded promptly to our requests with great care. The open-air bath in the Room was also nice. The room service dinner and breakfast in the separate building were delicious. For us, it's five stars.

    Various things are disappointing.

    I think it would be better to add more lanterns as the path to the dining area is too dark. The private room is also too dark, and when you lean forward, the plate is completely dark. It was disappointing to have a meal while looking at our dark reflections in the glass, lined up facing a dark window without any garden illumination. The noise from the neighboring voices and the clattering of dishes being cleared away were loud, making the concept of a private room unclear. The timing of serving the meal was slow, and the only thing they were eager about was recommending alcohol, which felt poorly trained. When we finished our meal and returned, there was no one around, giving the impression that we were left to leave on our own. I was looking forward to visiting as it was a highly-rated Ryokan, but it was very disappointing.

    The best Stays

    The room, the hospitality of the staff, and the food are all excellent. You can feel the dedication of all the staff to serve the guests. It's wonderful. I will definitely repeat my stay. However, although it's not a complaint, if I may add one comment, I thought the serving of alcohol during dinner was a bit slow. But it wasn't a big deal, and the staff during dinner were very considerate and wonderful.

    A birthday gift trip from my husband to me.

    Everything was simply the best. I rarely write reviews because I don't want my subjective opinion to negatively impact the property. However, Fufu Nara was truly comfortable. It combines the excellent system of a hotel with the hospitality of a ryokan, making it wonderful. I stayed for two nights this time, and the meals were completely different on the second day, both breakfast and dinner, and everything was delicious. The timing and the attentiveness of the staff were excellent. Recently, more foreign staff have been working in Japan, and there were many foreign staff at Fufu Nara as well. Everyone was very accommodating, and I could feel their warmth. The room had a good sense of interior design, was quiet, spacious enough, and the bath was comfortable with a great view. I usually have insomnia and am quite sensitive, but I was able to sleep soundly for two days here. I am filled with gratitude for finding such a satisfying stay. If I visit Nara again, I will definitely stay here. Thank you very much for everything.

    Enjoy the Autumn Leaves

    Second stay. The temperature of the onsen in the room was just right. Some ryokans sometimes have it too hot or too cold. Dinner was the same as last time, teppanyaki, with the meat grilled for a long time, cooked to a tenderness that didn't touch the teeth. Breakfast was also delicious. I also enjoyed a little walk in the garden. The deep crimson beauty around the nearby pond welcomed me, and it lifted my spirits. Last time was a stay for a conference, this time for a visit to Yoshino Kinpusenji (Kinpusenji) Temple. I go to exchange talismans at Kinpusenji every year, so I plan to stay again next year. I hope to explore the nearby temples with each stay.

    A property suitable for anniversaries

    We stayed to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary. The restaurant for dinner is a walk through the garden from the property, but since it was unfortunately raining, we were driven to the dining area from the front desk. At the end of the meal, there was a surprise message of congratulations on the dessert, which made us very happy. We also had a commemorative photo taken. The meal was very delicious and had a gentle taste that was kind to the body. The room was also wonderful, making it a very good trip.

    I used the facility ...

    I used the facility for the first time on our wedding anniversary. The facility and the room were filled with the unique attention to detail that only Fufu can provide, and the spa treatment felt worth more than its price. However, the disappointing part was the pairing during dinner. The last red wine was served late, and I thought that at Fufu's level, it would be served in accordance with the meal, so I kept waiting, but it was not served, and I had to request it myself. In the end, it was served with the last rice and miso soup. It is common knowledge that red wine is generally served with meat, and I believe Fufu's serving staff should be aware of this. Of course, white rice and red wine do not pair well, and I ended the dinner feeling frustrated. Overall, there were many foreign staff members, and I felt that the overall operation was poor.

    It was a spacious and relaxing Room.

    It was a calm and Japanese-style Hotel. The Room had an open-air bath, and beer and plum drinks were available for free. Unfortunately, I couldn't eat breakfast because I felt unwell after having abalone or clams for dinner.

    Even though I was looking forward to the stay....

    This was my second stay. The first impression was very good and comfortable, so I decided to use it again. I was satisfied with the room, onsen, and staff's response, but this time I felt very uncomfortable during dinner. First, when going from the room through the garden, it was dark and hard to find the entrance, so we searched in the dark with another couple. Last time, a staff member was waiting at the entrance, so we didn't get lost... We were taken to a private room, but it seemed like there were two small children in the next room separated by a partition. They were peeking through the gap, and the crying and talking ruined the atmosphere, and I couldn't taste the food. When I complained to the staff, they changed the room halfway through, but if there is no age restriction for guests, I think they should consider placing families with children in rooms that do not disturb other guests. At checkout, I expected an apology, but there was none, so when I mentioned "yesterday's dinner issue," they were unaware, which was disappointing. I think such matters should be communicated among the staff. It's quite a good price, and I thought it was a good property, but it's disappointing.

    It was a nice property where you can spend a relaxing time.

    Thank you for your hospitality. I was able to relax with the Onsen. However, the people next to us at the dining area were quite loud and laughing, which made it difficult to enjoy our meal in the latter half. I understand it may not be possible to caution guests, but it would be better if there were thicker partitions and more distance between tables. I would like to visit another Fufu in the future.

    Nara Prefecture is the best

    At first, I was worried about staying at an adult-oriented property. Although I am quite an adult myself, I was going with children, so I was concerned about the room atmosphere being dark or what if I couldn't eat the medicinal cuisine... However, I was drawn to the allure of Fufu and the rickshaw activity that departs from the property, so I decided to visit, and it was wonderful! A different world. I never thought I could stay at such a comfortable property in Nara Prefecture, and even now, just remembering it makes me happy. The view of nature, the wind, and the sound of birds from the open-air bath were so refreshing, it felt like Kamikochi. The comfort of walking through a bamboo grove not crowded with tourists. The meals that even a picky family could finish. The high level of hospitality from the staff who sensed and listened to our small whims during meals. Despite being such a wonderful property, they were open to accepting families with children. I am truly grateful. Thanks to this, I have come to love not only Fufu but also Nara Prefecture! Thank you for the wonderful memories!

    It was as good as the reviews said.

    I chose a hotel nearby to relax and unwind, also celebrating my sister's birthday. The reviews were high, and it truly lived up to expectations, allowing us to relax completely. On the first day, we enjoyed a Sisley body and face course at the spa, relaxed in the spacious room, and had a Japanese dinner. They catered to our preferences, and we were very satisfied. On the second day, we strolled through Nara Park in the afternoon, visited the Great Buddha at Todai-ji, and took a rickshaw to Kasuga-taisha before being taken back to the hotel. The autumn weather was sunny and warm, but the cool breeze made it a perfect time for an adult field trip, and we had a great time. Dinner was a teppanyaki course, which was also very delicious. The semi-open-air bath in the room was an onsen, and I took my time enjoying it, which is rare for me. Breakfast was different on both days, delicious and satisfying. I understand why there are many repeat guests. We left some sightseeing for next time. Haha. Thank you very much to all the staff for being so kind.

    Satisfied with the high-level Facility and services

    I enjoyed seasonal meals and services in a facility with sophisticated design. Here are two points I noticed, though they may be a bit critical. - While there is no issue with the customer service attitude, more detailed attention is needed. For example, the timing of the transportation guidance back to the main building after meals. It felt rushed when we were informed "Your car is ready" while enjoying dessert, especially when waiting in a visible area. - Regarding one of the menu items, "Matsutake rice." The Matsutake rice, a taste of autumn, was too soft like porridge, and the scorched part was too hard, which was disappointing. It was also unfortunate that the aroma of the Matsutake was overpowered by the Pacific saury.

    Asuka Pudding

    I was refreshed again this time! The meals, in particular, were creatively prepared using seasonal ingredients, and I enjoyed every dish! I was also very satisfied with the customer service, the room, the bath, and everything else. I would like to use it again.     I think they are trying hard, but

    I am satisfied with the room and the open-air bath in the room. The bath gets full marks for its size, temperature, and layout. The meals were a bit sweet for my taste, but they were carefully and beautifully prepared, so I was satisfied. However, even though it has been about four years since the opening, I think there is still much room for improvement in operations. Overall, the service is slow. Meals, in particular, take a long time to be served, and since there is no system to call the staff in the private dining room, we had to keep waiting. Also, while I am satisfied with the room, I find the amenities lacking in both quality and quantity. This time, the rate was about the same as a non-club floor room at the Palace Hotel Tokyo, which I usually use, but considering the Palace Hotel offers a top-level breakfast buffet and staff service, and is a 6-minute walk from Tokyo Station, even though the dinner and bath are attractive, I am uncertain if I would revisit this hotel given its inconvenient location and service level. I think the hotel itself is good, but I wouldn't feel very satisfied unless the price was about half. I would consider revisiting if it becomes a bit cheaper.
