I had a very relaxing time.
We stayed as two couples who were classmates during our school days. The room was a Japanese-Western style, and since the Japanese-style and Western-style rooms were separated into two rooms by an entrance, it provided a comfortable private space. The bath was very satisfying, and the meals were exceptionally delicious. Thank you very much!

An Onsen Accommodation That Evokes Nostalgia
I reserved this Hotel for the second day of my trip to Kusatsu Onsen, and as soon as I entered the entrance, I felt a sense of nostalgia and calmness. The atmosphere of Bandai no Yu bath was excellent, and the cloud motifs and fresh flower walls inside the facility were beautiful. The meals for breakfast and dinner were also delicious. This is a Hotel I would like to visit again.

This accommodation is definitely one I want to stay at again.
The atmosphere of the accommodation, the design of the room, meals enjoyed in private rooms, baths where you can enjoy two hot spring sources, the staff's hospitality, a convenient parking lot despite being close to Yubatake, and reasonable pricing. The list could go on endlessly, but both the facilities and services make this accommodation truly comfortable. Thank you for your hospitality.

Meals
The meal was disappointing as it resembled old banquet-style dishes, but the Room and bath were wonderful. Next time, I would like to stay again without meals.

The room was just as I liked.
The room, renovated last year, was very clean. The partition doors in the room closed tightly, ensuring no sound leakage and a comfortable stay. The Japanese-style veranda was delightful. Regarding the meals, many items were pre-set from the beginning, which was disappointing. In my personal opinion, simmered dishes would be better served warm even in summer. It would be appreciated if there were a call bell in the dining room. I would love to stay in that guestroom again.

I had a relaxing time.
The hot springs in Kusatsu are, of course, amazing, and despite being close to Yubatake, it was quiet and very relaxing. I will definitely stay here again. Thank you very much!

It was relaxing.
It was a very nice accommodation. Recently, there seem to be fewer foreign staff members, and while this is not meant to discriminate, it allowed us to feel a sense of Japanese culture in a positive way. The building's design also provided a calming atmosphere. The meals were visually delightful and featured unique touches representative of Gunma, making both dinner and breakfast highly satisfying. The dining area was private and spacious, ensuring privacy. However, the futon mattress did not suit us as a couple. We would love to stay at this accommodation again!

The Onsen was excellent.
It was amazing to enjoy two types of free-flowing hot spring sources. A little more creativity in the dinner menu would make it perfect.

It was a very nice accommodation.
The entire hotel, room, onsen, meals, and staff were excellent and very satisfying. The interior design of the accommodation was calm and tasteful, allowing for a comfortable stay. Our child also seemed to enjoy it very much, especially praising the delicious hamburg steak and rice here. Even though we visited in midsummer, there were few insects on the terrace—perhaps due to the location or some measures taken—which made it enjoyable to cool off outside after a bath. One concern was with a kitchen staff member. While relaxing in the lobby, I noticed that they left the washing area door open, causing noise. When I closed it myself, they left it open again when passing through later; this was slightly disappointing. It’s such a wonderful accommodation that I’d love to visit again; I hope this issue can be addressed moving forward!

It was a well-equipped and excellent accommodation.
Conveniently located at a comfortable distance from Yubatake, yet quiet and peaceful. The staff were thoughtful, providing considerate advice about the weather and walking paths. Meals were served in a private room, allowing for a relaxed dining experience with excellent flavors. I would definitely stay here again when visiting Kusatsu.

Disappointing Meal
The room was spacious and clean, and the Onsen with natural hot spring water was excellent. Amenities were well-equipped, allowing for a comfortable stay in the room. However, the taste and freshness of the meals were disappointing, falling short of expectations for the price. This low quality made staying for two nights unpleasant and left me feeling disappointed.

Wonderful Ryokan!
I chose this place for the first time because of its high reviews, and it exceeded my expectations with exceptional hospitality, leaving my entire family very satisfied. Highly Satisfying Accommodation
I made a sudden reservation for this highly-rated accommodation based on reviews and visited. I enjoyed soaking in the onsen and had a delightful dinner served in the room, which was both visually stunning and delicious. The room also had an open-air bath, which was a wonderful addition and very enjoyable. Breakfast was served in a private dining area, allowing for a relaxed meal experience. The cypress Room bath is excellent.
I stayed for one night and had a very relaxing and satisfying experience. The large public bath was great, but the Room's private bath with its hinoki aroma was especially delightful. It is also conveniently located near the Yubatake, making it perfect for a stroll.

I enjoyed a luxurious and relaxing stay.
A traditional Ryokan with a sense of cleanliness despite its age, providing a comfortable stay. The staff were kind and attentive. The lounge offered complimentary coffee, barley tea, and black tea.

The Onsen was truly ...
The Onsen was truly amazing, as expected from Kusatsu! The private open-air bath in the room was great, and all the food was delicious. They allowed us to park our car both before check-in and after check-out, so we could leisurely explore Yubatake and shop for souvenirs.

Accommodation as a token of gratitude for the year
I have stayed here several times and had a great experience, so this time I invited two important couples to stay. The same female staff member who guided us to the room also attended to us during the meal. Unfortunately, her attitude was very unpleasant and it ruined the experience. For this price, such poor service makes me never want to stay here again, nor would I consider using it for hosting guests. Other staff members were all pleasant and professional. However, this one female staff member who handled the room guidance, yukata selection, and meal service was unprofessional; she wasn’t wearing a name tag so I couldn’t identify her name. It’s such a shame because the beautifully renovated accommodation deserves better service. Providing explanations at your own convenience without considering guests’ timing feels forced and unnecessary—it’s better not done at all in that case. At breakfast, even though everyone was seated together on time, no explanation came for a long while. We ended up serving rice ourselves but were met with an annoyed expression from the staff without any words—her demeanor felt rough and unfriendly.

I was very satisfied.
We stayed for one night as a couple. Check-in was smooth, and we were promptly guided to our room. The room was spacious, bright, and conveniently located on the same second floor as the large public bath. After strolling around the town and working up a sweat, we headed to the Onsen. On the first day, men used Bandai no Yu and Nishi no Yu while women used Yuzan no Yu; they switched on the following day. When I soaked in Bandai no Yu, I initially felt a tingling sensation but quickly got accustomed to it. Nishi no Yu felt gentler on my skin. Both baths were absolutely wonderful—truly living up to Kusatsu Onsen's reputation for its exceptional water quality focus! Meals were served in-room, allowing us to enjoy them at our own pace. It seems that from this day onward, they switched to their summer menu. Including breakfast, everything was incredibly delicious! Lastly, one small disappointment: Wi-Fi reception in my room was poor and barely connected most of the time. If not for this issue, it would have been an all-around perfect stay!

It was excellent!
I stayed for one night and two days on a mother-daughter trip. The facility was cleaner than I had imagined, and the staff's service was very courteous. The Onsen offered two different hot spring sources to enjoy, which was fantastic. I personally appreciated having two bath towels prepared per person. It was conveniently located near the Yubatake, making sightseeing easy. It turned out to be a fulfilling two days. Thank you very much!

A beautiful accommodation with a warm wooden ambiance!
Very satisfied. The bath is available almost all the time except for one hour at midnight, and it includes both an open-air bath and an indoor wooden bath! The Room is spacious and clean. Both breakfast and dinner offer a wide variety of dishes, allowing you to enjoy colorful meals!

Onsen is amazing, isn't it?
The Onsen was excellent. However, the washlet nozzle was unclean, and while the meals had variety, the taste was underwhelming. Lately, IKYU has been disappointing.

Onsen and meals are highly recommended.
This is a medium-sized Ryokan with three large baths and two types of unique Onsen sources. The Onsen seemed to help with my back pain, as it was gone after returning home. For dinner, I chose the beef shabu-shabu course, which was more than satisfying in quantity. The appetizers, side dishes, and simmered dishes were almost too much to finish. The Facility is clean and satisfactory overall; I would rate it 4 out of 5. The service was also good; I would give it 4 out of 5 as well. I would love to stay at this Accommodation again!

You can relax.
Located a bit away from Yubatake, it was quiet and relaxing. Delicious meals and a wonderful onsen. The staff's attentiveness was perfect! Although I got lost inside the facility until I got used to it, that was also part of the charm. The cleanliness was impeccable, with not a speck of dust anywhere, including the room and all areas we walked through—truly an excellent ryokan. Thank you for kindly handling our luggage storage after check-out. If we visit Kusatsu again, we will definitely stay at Bouun!

Family Trip

Amenities include...
The room was excellent, but the view was not great, which is understandable as it is not directly facing the Yubatake in the onsen town. The meals were very delicious, though the portions were large. On the second night, they changed the menu for us, but I felt that the seasoning was a bit strong. The private bath in the room was an onsen with natural hot spring water flowing directly from its source, and it would be perfect for those who like hotter baths. However, one disappointment was that there weren’t enough hairbrushes provided for everyone staying in our group. Normally at this price range, amenities are prepared for each guest and replaced daily with new ones, so I found this surprising. Other than that, it was a wonderful accommodation. The staff's service was also excellent. Thank you for taking care of us!

The Best Accommodation for Me
Our eldest daughter graduated from university and gifted us a trip with her first paycheck. Among all the Onsen accommodations we have visited so far, Bouun was the best. The impressive entrance heightened our excitement and expectations, and we were deeply moved by the exceptional hospitality of each staff member. The dinner served in our room and breakfast in a private dining area were beautifully presented, making them visually delightful as well as delicious. The delicate flavors of each dish left us completely satisfied. The room was spacious, clean, and allowed us to relax fully. We also enjoyed three different types of Onsen baths during our stay. On our way home, we already felt like visiting Bouun again soon. Thank you for providing such an amazing experience! Next time, we hope to visit with our whole family!
