    The staff’s welcoming smiles are the best!

    We stayed from July 12 to 14. The staff were very welcoming, and my wife was also satisfied. We were especially impressed that our Room faced Shinmachi Street, allowing us to watch the first pulling of the Hoka-boko float from the Room. The festival music on the 12th was also wonderful and really enhanced the atmosphere of the Gion Festival. We would like to stay in the same Room again before the Gion Festival next time, and we appreciate your help when we do.

    Satisfied

    Highly recommended Accommodation with excellent guest satisfaction and memorable experiences.

    The staff were very attentive. The floor was pleasantly quiet. The interior design has great taste. I only used the breakfast, but it was very delicious. Compared to my previous stay, the lobby relaxation services have improved. The luggage transfer service to the Hotel in front of the station was extremely helpful. You can use the lounge at the Hotel in front of the station (perfect for a short break before your train, drink service, switching luggage, etc.).

    Enjoy Kyoto

    With its calm, Kyoto-style exterior and lobby, the Room was spacious and very relaxing. The large public bath was not too crowded, so I used it every day and was able to soothe my fatigue from the day. However, I was bothered by the sound of the neighboring Room’s door opening and closing, and I also wished the luggage service could be handled more flexibly, even if for a fee.

    I was surprised by the very high level of security. I felt safe even when using the bath. 　Also, I enjoyed the breakfast buffet, which offered a wide variety of delicious options.

    It was a wonderful space.

    I was able to relax at this very stylish Hotel, and I was happy to have a bath to rest my tired body after walking. The breakfast was delicious as well. I prefer Japanese food, so I was very satisfied, but I felt there were not many kinds of bread for overseas guests. I also thought it would be nice to have soup such as corn soup. I had dinner once, and it was delicious and surprisingly affordable. Thank you very much.

    Warm, reassuring hospitality

    It’s not a large Hotel, but there are thoughtful touches throughout that make it very comfortable—such as the seating arrangement facing the lobby courtyard and the cool, refreshing design of the entrance approach—so we had a pleasant 3-day, 2-night stay. In particular, the staff’s hospitality was consistently excellent, and we truly appreciated being able to ask questions and seek advice with confidence. We would definitely like to stay here again if we have the opportunity.

    As always, reliably great.

    Whenever I visit Kyoto, I always stay here. It’s clean, and the large public bath lets me relax. The price went up a lot for a while and I couldn’t stay, but it’s starting to come back down, so I hope you can keep it this way. The only downside is that even though there’s a window, it can’t be opened. It’s also frosted glass, so you can’t see outside at all, which might make people with claustrophobia feel a bit uneasy. It seems to be due to Kyoto’s cityscape regulations.

    Heartwarming, genuine hospitality

    In Kyoto, we stayed at Mitsui Garden Hotel Kyoto Shinmachi Bettei, and to be honest, it has become the most memorable Hotel we have ever stayed at. Of course, the Hotel itself was beautiful with a calm, distinctly Kyoto atmosphere—but what moved us even more were the people and the service. We stayed for just one night, from April 29 to April 30. We had just returned from a day trip to Amanohashidate and were exhausted. We had also stayed at a Ryokan the night before and had been on the move constantly, so I think our whole family was quite tired. Then the next morning, we realized our son was having an allergic reaction to food, and we became very anxious. However, the concierge and front desk staff were truly supportive—they helped us find a pediatric clinic and showed genuine concern for our condition and situation. What touched us even more was that they even offered to extend our stay time at no additional charge so that we could settle down a bit. Their kindness and thoughtfulness truly helped us. It didn’t feel like they were simply “doing their job”—we could feel their warmth and sincere care for our family, which reminded us once again of how wonderful Japanese hospitality can be. This wasn’t an unforgettable Hotel because it was luxurious; it became special because of people’s kindness and compassion. If we visit Kyoto again, we would absolutely love to return.

    Multiple Night Stay (3 nights)

    I stayed for a Multiple Night Stay of three nights. The entire Facility was clean and well maintained, the staff were polite and kind, and the large public bath was excellent. However, my Room had no windows (no natural light from outside). It wouldn’t have bothered me for one night, but during a three-night stay it was quite depressing not to feel any daylight while in the Room. Next time, I’ll be sure to confirm this before booking.

    The luggage delivery...

    The luggage delivery service from Kyoto Station was appreciated, but it would have been helpful to be informed about the app in advance so I could have prepared beforehand. Registering from scratch on-site took time and was inconvenient, but since one piece of luggage is free, I definitely recommend doing it. Also, if you choose a breakfast-included Plan, you can receive small souvenirs or cake at the kura next door, which was a nice service! Breakfast was very delicious, and the Onsen was clean and pleasant. The coin laundry also had washer-dryer units that lock with a PIN code, and it was convenient to check the remaining time on my smartphone. A recommended Hotel!

    The Room and bath were nice.

    We stayed as a family of four, including two small children. The Room felt a bit small, but it was clean, and the toilet and in-room bath were spacious enough. The large public bath was also clean and very pleasant. One issue: when I asked the front desk staff member who first assisted us whether there were any nearby places for takeout, they said they would check and later called our Room. They told me they could give me an information sheet if I came to the front desk. While I was hesitating about whether I really needed to go down to pick it up, there was a brief pause in my reply, and they said in an exasperated tone, “Or shall we bring it to you?” I understand that I may have added work during a busy time and caused inconvenience, but I was surprised and disappointed because this is not how I have been treated elsewhere.

    Impressed by the attentive service.

    The staff’s warm smiles and greetings, as well as their attentive service, were excellent. The sea bream chazuke at breakfast was delicious.

    One-night stay with my son and his wife.

    I was able to relax in the large public bath, which helped relieve the fatigue from our trip. The Room also had a separate bath and toilet, making it very comfortable to use, and the staff were courteous—my sons were very satisfied as well. The breakfast buffet offered a wide variety of dishes, and everything was delicious. When I visit Kyoto again, I would like to stay here again.

    Kyoto is very crowde...

    Kyoto is very crowded with tourists these days, but the Kyoto of the past was wonderful and beautiful. This time, Daimaru Department Store near the Hotel was great. The food was delicious.

    It was my first stay...

    It was my first stay in a while. The Hotel’s location was convenient and quiet, which was very nice. The staff’s service was also good. However, the Room’s new design felt a bit unsettling; I preferred the previous, simpler decor. Thank you for everything.

    I had a comfortable stay.

    This was my first time staying here. The property’s calm atmosphere facing Shinmachi Street was very nice. It’s close to Shijo-Karasuma, so it’s convenient for getting anywhere and perfect for a stay in Kyoto. I stayed for 3 nights on a Plan with breakfast, and as with Jokyoji, I appreciated being able to choose a different menu each day. I was also happy to enjoy dessert every day at the shop in the neighboring kura storehouse.

    I’m glad I could relax and enjoy a soak in the large public bath.

    I chose this Hotel because it has a large public bath. There were few tour groups, so I could bathe comfortably and relax at my own pace. Breakfast was also very varied and delicious. The Room size was just right.

    The Room had a comfo...

    The Room had a comfortable chair and table where I could relax, which was great. I also freely used the drinks available in the lobby to spend time comfortably inside the hotel (mainly in the lobby). The large public bath was easy to use and comfortable as well (used it in the morning). There were two disappointing points. At check-in, no one offered to help carry my heavy luggage to the Room. In the restaurant, staff placed dishes on any open space on the table, which felt like an izakaya. I would have preferred them to confirm who ordered each dish and place it near that person. I’m not sure if this is related to being shortly after a renovation, but the service rarely felt warm and had a businesslike atmosphere. Recommended for those who do not expect excessive service.

    Girls’ trip

    This was a girls’ trip we planned to celebrate our first reunion in decades, meeting here in the lobby. We arrived well before check-in time, but we were told our Room was ready and were able to check in right away. The Room was clean and had a calm atmosphere, with enough space to fully open our suitcases. Even after walking around all day in the cold, we could warm up in the large public bath, which helped ease our fatigue. It was available until the next morning, so we could also take a bath after waking up. For breakfast, we could choose one main plate from four options—Western-style, Japanese-style, and Kyoto obanzai-inspired dishes—so it was fun to pick something different each morning. In addition, there was a buffet with various side dishes and more, along with a great selection of drinks. The fruit was neatly cut and easy to eat, and the desserts were delicious as well. While dining out is common when traveling, this Hotel’s breakfast felt well-balanced and helped offset the usual lack of variety that can come with eating out. The front desk staff greeted us both when we went out and when we returned, which made us feel reassured every time we passed through the lobby. They also kindly took photos for us at the Hotel entrance; having a picture of all of us together became a wonderful memory. Thank you very much for your hospitality. Thanks to you, we had an incredibly enjoyable time.

    A charming, cozy Hotel in Kyoto

    The Hotel in Kyoto Karasuma has a charming exterior, and upon entering, we were welcomed by staff with wonderful smiles. I was a bit tired from sightseeing, so it was a small thing, but their smiles were soothing. The Room was spacious and clean, which put me at ease and allowed me to relax. There is also a bath area, and the carbonated bath helped me warm up and recover slowly from my fatigue. Since I walked around sightseeing spots on both the first and second days, it was reassuring to have such a comfortable Hotel where I could truly unwind. Thank you very much.

    I arrived in Kyoto by train. There was a service to transport luggage from the affiliated Hotel near Kyoto Station, which was very helpful. The large public bath could be used without worrying about time during my stay, and the hospitality was warm. What made me happiest of all was the breakfast! You can choose your main dish, and there’s also a buffet... Everything was delicious and absolutely wonderful. I would love to stay here again when I visit Kyoto next time. Thank you for making my trip so enjoyable!

    It was a good Hotel.

    The Room was clean and quiet. There were plenty of towels, both regular-sized and smaller ones, which made them very comfortable to use. The Room we stayed in this time had a sliding door between the bathroom and the Room, so the heating worked effectively. There was bottled water in the Room, but we used the coupon given at check-in to get a bottle of tea from the shop. My daughter debated between an ice bar and a small cake set but chose the cake instead. The shop also had coffee, beer, and cute Japanese-patterned drawstring bags available. Breakfast included many delicious Kyoto-style dishes that we thoroughly enjoyed. The staff at reception and in the restaurant were very pleasant, allowing us to have a wonderful New Year’s experience in Kyoto. Thank you very much!

    Family Trip

    The Hotel had a wonderful Kyoto-like atmosphere, with separate toilet and bath facilities, as well as an excellent large public bath. The staff were very attentive, and the breakfast was absolutely delicious. I used the baggage service, which was surprisingly convenient, and I would definitely use it again. It also made me want to try staying at other hotels in the same chain next time.

    I am currently pregnant. When discussing meal preferences in advance, I was impressed by the courteous responses not only over the phone but also via email, which provided written confirmation and gave me peace of mind leading up to the day. During the meal, I was offered a blanket to adjust for the air conditioning, and when I expressed concerns about how thoroughly the meat was cooked, they kindly explained additional heating options as well as details about cooking temperatures and freezing times. Thanks to their attentiveness, I was able to enjoy my meal without worry. In addition to this, everyone treated us with warm smiles and exceptional hospitality that made it hard to believe how reasonably priced everything was. It truly made for a comfortable and memorable stay. Thank you very much!

    Excellent!

    Despite the busy year-end season, the staff's hospitality is excellent. The breakfast is very delicious, especially the oboro tofu and oden, which are highly recommended. The large public bath is well-maintained and provided a comfortable experience. I look forward to staying here again next year.

    It was a lovely Hotel with a clean and fresh atmosphere.

    We stayed here for a family trip. The staff were very kind and attentive, even to our elementary school-aged child. Their hospitality was excellent and made us feel very comfortable. The Room and the public bath were exceptionally clean, providing a sense of cleanliness and security. The breakfast featured Kyoto-style dishes and was incredibly delicious. We would love to stay here again!
