    It was an extremely satisfying accommodation!

    I decided to make a reservation after watching a YouTuber having such a great time staying here. Although the YouTuber wasn't focused on travel content and didn't mention the hotel's name, I searched online for details matching the video and finally found it! I was so excited to stay here at last! The dinner buffet was delicious and very satisfying. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay with activities like relaxing in the onsen, having beer in the lounge, and even making onsen eggs.

    It was a wonderful trip!

    We stayed at this accommodation for our annual three-generation trip. We usually visit different places, but this year we decided to come to Fukui after seeing it on social media. From the moment we arrived until we left, all the staff were kind, attentive, and friendly—it was such a wonderful accommodation! The meals were luxurious and delicious! Although I thought 90 minutes might be too short, it turned out to be just right! Both the children and parents were very satisfied and shared their happiness with us! Despite many guests staying at the same time, the large public bath was never crowded. It was always clean and comfortable whenever we visited. One slightly disappointing point was that due to our large group of three generations, our dinner seating arrangement wasn’t ideal. Two people seated in the back couldn’t fit their legs under the table and had to eat in a dimly lit area without proper lighting. They didn’t mention it during dinner out of consideration for me as I made the reservation, which made me feel sorry for them. This is just a personal wish, but while I think having a lounge system is great, I would have loved an option where we could enjoy welcome sweets and tea leisurely in our room—even if it meant paying more. That aside, this has become one of my favorite accommodations! We’ve already made another reservation for next time! It’s such a wonderful place that I want to visit again and again in the future! Above all else, what stood out most was how heartwarming and exceptional all of your staff’s hospitality was—it truly exceeded expectations. Thank you so much for sending us off with joy until our very last moment there! You made this trip unforgettable for my entire family—thank you from the bottom of my heart! We are filled with gratitude!

    We had a great time.

    This was my first stay. It was a plan with an open-air bath and kaiseki cuisine. The meals had a wide variety of dishes, and I was very satisfied. I was concerned that the open-air bath might be visible from other buildings, so I used the hinoki bath instead. My husband, however, had no such concerns and enjoyed the room's open-air bath multiple times. There were free drinks, a footbath area, and a well-stocked shop, making it an enjoyable ryokan experience.

    All-Inclusive

    We used the all-inclusive plan this time and found it to be a very convenient system in many ways. It was great to enjoy drinks at our own pace, whenever we wanted, and whatever we liked. However, due to our oversight, we realized that the plan did not include access to the separate bathhouse, which was disappointing. Next time, we would like to choose a plan that includes access to the separate bathhouse. Thank you for your hospitality!

    Traveling with a 2-Year-Old

    I stayed here for two nights the week after Obon, fulfilling a long-held wish. Traveling with my 2-year-old daughter, it was important to find a place that is child-friendly but also offers delicious meals and relaxing Onsen for adults—and this place delivered perfectly! The result? Absolute satisfaction! I want to visit every year! From the staff at check-in to those we passed by during our stay, everyone was kind and welcoming, even towards my noisy little one. For dinner on the first night, we enjoyed their famous buffet. The sashimi, sushi, and à la carte dishes were all incredibly delicious—so much so that even my usually small-eating daughter devoured everything enthusiastically! The unlimited Häagen-Dazs desserts were also a delightful treat. On the second night, we had kaiseki cuisine in a private room. The kids' meal was impressive as well, and as adults, we thoroughly enjoyed savoring each course—it was both filling and heartwarming (apologies for any inconvenience caused by our restless daughter wandering around). The private open-air bath in our room was simply amazing beyond words. The large public bath exceeded expectations with its child-friendly amenities—there were not only kids' bath chairs but also children's shampoo available! Having a dedicated diaper disposal bin in both the room and bathroom was incredibly helpful too. Additionally, the kids' play area located behind the souvenir shop saved us multiple times—it’s truly wonderful how accommodating this place is for families with children. Of course, couples or just adults would also find it equally relaxing and satisfying here! As someone who loves hotel stays and goes several times a year, I’ve never felt such an urge to return annually until staying at Grandia Housen Ryokan. Next year I plan to bring my parents along so we can all enjoy together! Thank you for giving us such wonderful summer vacation memories!

    Beautiful, but does it justify the price... could use some improvement.

    Stayed at the Sakura Suite Premium. The toilet in the room is inconvenient as you need to wear shoes to access it. The sink is inside the bathroom, and although there’s a step separating it from the shower area, the floor gets wet, making activities like brushing teeth uncomfortable. The shower water temperature was unstable, and while the bathtub looks stylish, its design makes it hard to use. Drinks in the room were basic, and amenities were disappointing, including the hairdryer. The lounge felt more like a simple lobby with only basic snacks like rice crackers available. Towels in the room were thin and rough—almost like bath mats! There are also many small steps within the room that feel unsafe. While trendy elements have been incorporated into the design of the room, it feels mismatched and lacks practicality or cohesion. However, both dinner and breakfast buffets were absolutely satisfying! Breakfast exceeded expectations with delicious options. Staying in one of their most affordable rooms just for enjoying their buffet would be worth it—but spending over 100,000 yen might not be justified.

    The Best Buffet

    I was amazed by the incredible buffet I saw on social media and had always wanted to visit Grandia Housen. The buffet was just as amazing as it looked online, and I was completely satisfied! The room was absolutely lovely, and the Onsen was spacious and fantastic! The all-inclusive lounge was lively as well. Although I couldn't meet the popular young owner from social media, this is definitely one of the hotels I'd love to visit again. I had an excellent stay.

    Sashimi at its best!

    The food overall was delicious. I was happy to enjoy freshly fried and freshly grilled items at the breakfast buffet. The seafood, including sashimi, was especially tasty. The staff's subtle attentiveness was also appreciated. The bath area was clean and well-maintained, making my stay very pleasant. I would love to stay here again!

    I had a great time.

    A group of seven travels together every six months, coordinating their schedules despite being busy. The two-room connected accommodation was rare and allowed all of us to stay in one room, making it a fun trip where we could be together the entire time at the hotel. After check-in, we enjoyed chatting in the lounge, bathing together, and dining together—experiences unique to a large hotel. The space was not only ample but also offered an impressive variety of meals that made choosing difficult; everything was delicious. While it’s common for futons to be laid out during dinner time (as mentioned during check-in), we appreciated the thoughtful gesture when staff came to our table to inform us before entering our room. We rated amenities 4 because there were two items missing for seven people in the room. However, when requested, they were delivered promptly with excellent service. This is definitely a hotel we’d like to revisit. Thank you for providing such an enjoyable experience!

    The open-air bath may be visible from the neighboring guestroom building.

    While using the open-air bath, I made eye contact with guests in the neighboring accommodation building. Although there is a bamboo screen for privacy, it does not completely cover the view, leaving a gap of nearly 1 meter that compromises privacy. It was very disappointing, especially since the staff's hospitality and cuisine were exceptional compared to other accommodations.

    It was very comfortable.

    As expected, the dinner buffet was delicious. Not only the main dishes but also the appetizers were well-prepared, exceeding typical buffet quality in a good way. It might be the best buffet in the Hokuriku region, including this Hotel. We were very satisfied. We traveled with children, and there was a kids' corner that made them happy. The children mentioned that they enjoyed the fish but wished for more noodle options besides soba. Traveling with kids can sometimes be tiring, but we felt relaxed throughout our stay without any stress. The Room and bath were spacious and clean, which added to our satisfaction. We would love to stay again!

    This time, we stayed in a Room with an open-air bath in a separate building. It was very comfortable and enjoyable. However, the open-air bath was visible from the main building's guest rooms, so unfortunately, we had to enter discreetly while wrapped in bath towels. Other than that, the meals and tableware were excellent, allowing us to experience a sense of luxury.

    We recently stayed as a family of three. The dinner was a buffet plan, and everything was delicious. My daughter was very happy, and we look forward to visiting again in a different season. However, one downside was that the unfamiliar wooden sandals caused blisters on my toes. It would be great if there were more footwear options available, including for international guests.

    This time, when making the reservation, I was very indecisive about choosing the room and meal because the buffet reviews were exceptionally good. In the end, we stayed in the "Genroku" room at Yutorogitei and enjoyed a private Kaiseki dinner in a restaurant-style private room. We were extremely satisfied. The beautifully crafted and delicious dishes prepared by the head chef made us glad we chose this option. Since it was just my spouse and me this time, we wanted to spend our time quietly and enjoy meals while seated comfortably. This plan perfectly matched our preferences. However, as needs vary depending on age or group size of visitors, it's wonderful that there are plenty of options for both rooms and meal plans to suit different occasions. During our two-day stay, we visited Eiheiji Temple, Tojinbo Cliffs, and Mikata Five Lakes. Thanks to you, we fully enjoyed our trip to Fukui. Thank you very much!

    First Time at Awara Onsen

    Stayed with family, enjoyed the Onsen egg experience and the well-prepared welcome drinks, which made us very satisfied. The room was a spacious family type with a sense of openness that instantly relieved our daily fatigue. This time we chose the Kaiseki Plan (it was delicious), but next time we look forward to trying the buffet.

    The meals, hospitality, and facilities are excellent. This is my second visit in three months. Unfortunately, there was no engawa sushi this time, likely due to the season. I plan to visit again with my parents. One minor disappointment was that the open-air bath was too shallow and lacked charm—it felt more like a public bathhouse atmosphere. Other than that, the Room was spacious, and the chef who supervises JAL First Class meals served otoro sushi every time—absolutely amazing! I've never seen another Hotel offering all-you-can-eat sushi with red vinegar rice. The steak quality is also top-notch as shown in the photos. Without a doubt, this is number one in the area! The all-inclusive lounge is fantastic as well! I'll definitely return!

    I stayed at Kotobukitei Manryo. Dinner was a buffet, and breakfast was traditional Japanese cuisine. The Room was very spacious and clean, and the meals were delicious. Thank you very much. However, I was a bit disappointed that the open-air bath did not have a washing area. It was my first time experiencing an open-air bath without one, so it felt slightly inconvenient. I wonder if other Rooms are the same? In any case, I think it was a very lovely Ryokan overall.

    Couples' Getaway

    To celebrate our silver wedding anniversary, we chose Grandia Housen, a place we had been curious about for a long time! We decided to splurge a little and booked a room with an open-air bath. While the large public bath and cypress bath were wonderful, the private bath in our room was so relaxing that we found ourselves using it over and over again! For meals, we were torn between kaiseki cuisine or the buffet but ultimately opted for the much-talked-about buffet. Every dish was so delicious that it left us amazed. It easily surpassed all the meals we've enjoyed at other accommodations we've stayed at before. Even though our dining time was late, the staff remained kind and attentive until the end, even asking if we'd like freshly made sushi rolls. We will cherish the commemorative gift as well. I’ve already declared to my husband that we'll stay in this same room again for our pearl wedding anniversary in five years! But before that, we're planning to visit with family in six months—please wait for us until then. It truly became a memorable anniversary celebration. Thank you very much!

    The Room and meals were excellent, but the cleanliness of the large public bath was disappointing. The mirrors and showerheads were covered in limescale, and the shampoo stands had noticeable grime. While it’s acceptable to reuse towels for foot baths, reusing towels for bathing felt unpleasant. If only the bath area could be improved, this would easily be a 5-star experience. The interior of this large Ryokan is well-maintained; I noticed cleaning staff at work, beautifully arranged flowers, and a meticulously cared-for garden. The staff members were incredibly friendly, kind, and dedicated to providing excellent service. I am truly grateful—thank you so much!

    Breakfast is...

    This time, I stayed with my mother and two others. When I used Kotobukitei in January, I was very satisfied with the meals, Room, and open-air bath, so I decided to bring my mother this time and stayed in the same Japanese-Western style Room (with beds) at Kotobukitei. The dinner was also monthly changing and very satisfying both visually and taste-wise. However, compared to last time, breakfast was a bit disappointing as they didn’t ask about the type of grilled fish we wanted; the grilled fish lacked fluffiness and was hard. The clam miso soup was too strong for me to finish (sorry for being picky). It felt a bit different from before, which left me slightly disappointed. Other than that, the hospitality and service were excellent, so overall (except for breakfast), it was very satisfying. I'll visit again!

    For those avoiding buffets at Onsen Ryokan, we highly recommend trying the evening buffet here. The sushi, especially the engawa, was incredibly delicious! Both the variety and taste were absolutely satisfying. The room with an Onsen was spacious, clean, and the staff's service was excellent. Highly recommended!

    Delicious cuisine at its best!

    I have been using this accommodation for three consecutive years. The delicious meals are very satisfying. Last year, Gian stayed here, and photos were displayed, which made Gian fans very happy.
