    Find tranquility on weekdays.

    After finishing work over the weekend and having Monday off, I stayed here as a nearby getaway. There are shops close by, and access from the parking lot to the entrance was smooth. After relaxing in the Onsen, I enjoyed coffee in the guest-only lounge in front of the lobby, soothed by the quiet atmosphere and the piano music coming from the furniture. The next morning there was an earthquake and the elevator stopped, but the staff responded courteously and everything remained safe until it was restored. It was cherry blossom season, so I had an elegant breakfast while viewing the blossoms from the restaurant, and I also fully enjoyed the Onsen—an excellent stay overall. Highly recommended for a little luxury close to home.

    Noise in a Quiet Hotel

    I stayed at two Moor Onsen locations, and the water seemed slightly different depending on the place. I preferred this Hotel because it had a silkier feel and the spring quality suited my taste. There is one point I would like you to consider regarding my stay. From after breakfast until just before noon, staff were working in the garden—probably clearing fallen leaves—using a machine that produced extremely loud noise. In such a quiet Hotel, this level of noise felt excessive, and the workers were wearing ear protection. Have you considered how staying guests might feel? Is it necessary to carry out work so loud that workers need hearing protection during the morning hours when guests are relaxing? Please make use of the roughly three-hour window between check-out and check-in for this kind of work.

    Exceptional hospitality.

    I stayed for one night as a solo guest the other day. All of the staff provided wonderful hospitality. The bath was also excellent, especially the moor Onsen. While it is not particularly modern or trendy, the entire property felt clean and well maintained, with a calm and comfortable atmosphere. In addition to the warm service from the front desk and restaurant staff, I was especially impressed by the pleasant greetings from the housekeeping team. I would love to stay again when I visit Obihiro.

    Relax and unwind in the Moor Onsen.

    This is a Hotel you’ll want to visit many times a year. The Onsen and the meals are satisfying every time. You’ll get hooked on the feeling of time passing slowly.

    The in-room Onsen is extremely hot!

    I stayed here for the first time because I wanted to try Obihiro’s Moor Onsen. It’s within walking distance from the station, and I heard that depending on the day you might even spot squirrels in the garden where you can do birdwatching. I Reserved a Room with a private Onsen bath. It was spacious and comfortable, but since the bathroom is separated by clear glass, you might accidentally bump into it if you’re not paying attention. The water temperature in the large public bath was relatively lukewarm, but the in-room bath was free-flowing from the source and very hot, so it was hard to get in. Even if you cool it down with water, hot Onsen water comes out again quickly, so if you prefer a milder temperature, the large public bath may be better. I thought I liked hotter baths, but I couldn’t use it as-is. Since it was April, it might be just right in midwinter. There were plenty of towels and amenities, so I didn’t have any trouble. The large public bath is a bit small and may not feel very relaxing. When I made my Reservation it was very reasonably priced, and even though this Hotel offers solid service, you can stay at a great value. I saw comments on other travel sites complaining that guests can’t freely walk around inside wearing yukata robes and slippers, but I think that’s actually a good point—this isn’t that kind of Accommodation. Next time I’d like to visit in winter to see long-tailed tits (shima-enaga).

    I love everything!

    This was my third stay. No matter how many times I visit, it’s always exciting. The staff’s warm hospitality, the relaxing Room, the delicious meals, and my favorite Moor Onsen and sauna—everything is wonderful. It has a subtle Nordic feel. It feels like an Accommodation in the forest, yet there’s an AEON and even McDonald’s nearby—the contrast is great! A morning walk to Midorigaoka Park is also lovely. Leaving at check-out makes me sad..... Next time, I might try dinner as well. I love this place!

    Second Stay

    The front desk staff were kind and attentive, and the room with a private open-air bath was comfortable and easy to relax in. The bread from the shop was also very delicious.

    A Fun Hotel

    I used to think Hokkaido was all about the classic wooden bear holding a salmon, but here we were welcomed by a “thinking” bear instead. The property is filled with wooden carvings of bears and owls throughout, and they were all dressed in fun outfits. It was also wonderful that the lounge tables resonate in time with the music. In the morning, I was happy to see wild birds and squirrels up close. The Onsen water quality was new to me as well. I came to Obihiro on a whim just to watch Ban’ei horse racing, and it turned out to be a great choice. Kasuga’s sushi was an absolute hit too, and even shirako—which I used to avoid—was delicious. I’m going to Otaru next, but I don’t think I’ll be able to eat sushi there after this experience. The Room was exactly what I expected; from the large windows, I could really understand Obihiro’s landscape. Even though I came without researching anything, everyone in town was kind and helpful. Obihiro was a winner for me—next time I’d like to buy tickets for Ban’ei horse racing.

    Perfect for a winter workcation

    I love Obihiro in winter, so I stayed here again this year for a one-week workcation. Although it’s a resort, it’s in the city, so the 5G Wi‑Fi is fast and reliable, making remote meetings very smooth. The nearby Midorigaoka Park is perfect for walks, and when I’m tired I can soak in the Onsen, so I can refresh while working. They handled Room cleaning within a short time window, which was a huge help. The food was delicious—both Japanese and Western—and since I rotated Indian Curry and Butahage for lunch, I gained weight. I’d love to visit again.

    Warm hospitality from our friendly staff

    This was our second night of a two-night stay, with one night in between, as we went to Monbetsu to see the drift ice. When we checked out after the first night, the staff said, “We look forward to seeing you again,” and we returned feeling warmly welcomed—true hospitality. For breakfast I always request the Western-style option, and the fruit Danish here is especially delicious. I’m also grateful that these Danish pastries are available for purchase at the shop. I bought a strawberry Danish, and I’d be happy if there were a pear one as well. The Modern Double Room is consistently wonderful no matter when we stay. Not just Obihiro—if you’re visiting Hokkaido, I highly recommend staying here!

    Rooms with an open-air bath are wonderful.

    This is the Room with an open-air bath where my family stayed. Having a bath in the Room is recommended, as you can enjoy it anytime without worrying about the time, as many times as you like. Since three of us were staying, they prepared the sofa as a bed in advance. Thank you for emailing to confirm our preferences each time, even when we don’t specifically request it.

    I stayed in a Modern Double Room, and my family stayed in a Room with an open-air bath. We were shown to rooms on opposite sides of the corridor. It was very convenient for having breakfast together and passing luggage back and forth. Once you stay in the Modern Double Room at Hokkaido Hotel, it’s so comfortable you won’t want to stay anywhere else. You can take off your shoes and relax. The shower booth is spacious, too. And the gas fireplace... Highly recommended!

    Highly praised as a wonderful Hotel

    A family from Okayama Prefecture visited Hokkaido for the first time, and since they were heading to Tokachi on the first day, I recommended this Hotel. It was a whirlwind trip with limited time at the Hotel, but they checked in under clear skies. They were impressed by their first sub-zero temperatures, the benefits of the moor Onsen, and the beautiful illuminations against the crystal-clear night sky—enough to wash away the fatigue of a long journey. Breakfast was also lavish, and they thoroughly enjoyed the delicious Tokachi ingredients. They were happy to say, “Next time, we’d like to take our time and fully enjoy Hokkaido Hotel.” Since it was a Room with a terrace, they were moved by how stunningly beautiful the sunrise from the horizon was. To all staff members, thank you very much for your wonderful hospitality this time.

    This Hotel is almost flawless. The guest rooms, meals, Onsen, and staff service are all excellent. Whenever I visit Obihiro, I always stay here.

    Calm and relaxing interior

    The interior of the Room with an open-air bath was calm and relaxing. The amenities were also well-equipped. This Room requires you to take off your shoes, but it was inconvenient as there was no chair for putting on or taking off boots. I believe this is especially necessary for elderly guests, so please consider adding one. Everything else was excellent.

    The facility is old,...

    The facility is old, but the room is well-cleaned. The moor Onsen made my skin smooth and felt wonderful. It’s a favorite hotel with a great atmosphere. The staff are very polite and attentive.

    Moor Onsen

    I visited after a long time, and it was wonderful to relax and unwind. Perhaps due to the snow, it wasn’t crowded, so I could enjoy the bath without any hassle. I hope to visit again.

    The Moor Onsen and bread are exceptional!

    The quality of the onsen water is excellent, and I frequently use this accommodation. I always stay in a room with a private open-air bath, and the water is so wonderful that I sometimes bathe nearly 10 times. Personally, I feel there is no onsen better than this one. That’s how much I love this accommodation. For breakfast, you can choose from three options, but the bread is so delicious that I always go for the Western-style meal. The salad is fresh, and there’s a wide variety of drinks available. It’s also delightful to spot squirrels from the breakfast venue quite often. Every time, I also buy bread at the shop before leaving. The raisin bread is absolutely exquisite! I would be thrilled if it were possible to reserve more of it since I'd like to buy plenty next time. Looking forward to staying here again!

    Room with Sauna

    Stayed at Totonoe! As expected from Hokkaido Hotel. Everything was the perfect space and the perfect time. It made for a wonderful birthday celebration. I would love to visit again.

    It was a wonderful Room!!

    Celebrating 35 years of marriage, we embarked on our first 2-night, 3-day trip to Obihiro as a senior couple. The moment we entered the room, we felt glad to have chosen this accommodation. The calm interior, tasteful furnishings, and gas fireplace created a perfect atmosphere—not too spacious but just the right size. The private open-air bath in the room featured floor heating and constantly flowing Onsen water, making Hokkaido's winter chill feel pleasant. My husband, who prefers lukewarm water, loved the system where pressing a button released cold water for 15 seconds. Our only regret was not opting for a multiple night stay. We enjoyed wine at the restaurant on the first floor before returning to our room to relax in the bath at our own pace. Before we knew it, we had completely forgotten about visiting the public bathhouse! Whenever we visit Obihiro again, we'll definitely stay in this room at Hokkaido Hotel!

    I stayed for one night with breakfast after work and travel, and I was very satisfied. I also enjoyed the nearby mall after a long time, and I was pleased with the building's design, including the Room. If there is a minor drawback, it would be that it was a bit far to walk from the station (Shuttle Service is available). I look forward to visiting again when I have another opportunity.

    Moor Onsen

    The first experience with the moor Onsen was wonderful, leaving my skin feeling smooth and hydrated. I stayed in a room with a sauna this time and thoroughly enjoyed relaxing in it. However, one downside was that while the Onsen is a highlight, the changing area in the large public bath was very small, and there were only three sinks available, making it quite crowded during my visit. Additionally, there was no view from the open-air bath. Considering its location in town, it didn’t quite feel like a forest resort. That said, the airport bus stop is very close by, and the staff were extremely friendly. Although it was a holiday period with higher rates due to demand and some crowding, at other times this hotel offers excellent value for money at reasonable prices.

    Reliable staff service

    The highlight of this Hotel is undoubtedly the excellent service provided by the staff. Highly recommended for those visiting Hokkaido for business or leisure. We stayed for two nights and had a very relaxing stay. The public bath is small but features high-quality moor Onsen water. For breakfast, you can choose from Japanese, Western, or soup curry options. As a couple in our 60s who can't eat large portions anymore, we were very satisfied. Salad, yogurt, cheese fondue, coffee, and other beverages are available self-serve. The yogurt is especially delicious and highly recommended! Whenever we stay in Obihiro, this Hotel is always our go-to choice!

    The moor Onsen is excellent.

    Located in Obihiro city, you can enjoy a high-quality moor Onsen. The Facility is clean and well-maintained. Although I didn't have a meal this time, the breakfast is delicious. As mentioned in Reviews, the changing room for the Onsen is small, but being able to enjoy the moor Onsen makes up for it! The Hotel's shop offers tasty bread and local souvenirs. This Hotel is my favorite place to stay in Obihiro!

    The room sauna was excellent!

    Upon entering, there was an unpleasant sweaty odor. I used the provided deodorizing spray, but it was ineffective. I spent the day thinking it might be due to the sauna in the Room. The sauna in the Room was excellent, allowing for private use without worrying about others. Adding aroma to the water for löyly made it very relaxing. Dinner was a kaiseki meal, but there were no particularly Obihiro-style dishes. The portions were small and unsatisfying, so I went out to buy a late-night snack. In hindsight, I regret not going out for local specialties like pork bowls instead. Breakfast offered a choice of Japanese style, Western style, or soup curry, which was great.

    The balcony is amazing.

    I chose a room with a balcony. The autumn leaves viewed from the balcony were stunning, and it was perfect for cooling down after warming up in the moor onsen. The moor onsen, including the sauna, was great; however, it was crowded with day-use visitors, which was unfortunate. It would be appreciated if the time slots for day-use visitors could be adjusted separately from those for accommodation guests.
