The Onsen and the Room were great!
We stayed as a family of three, including a child. We booked two double-bed Rooms, and the space and comfort were excellent. Our young child was impressed by the Onsen and the Western-style breakfast. Since we stayed for three nights, we chose a Plan with no Room cleaning, but towels and other items were replenished every day without us having to ask, which made our stay very comfortable. Unlike Sapporo or Hakodate, it wasn’t extremely crowded in town. Even though it was early August, we had several cool days in a row, enjoyed the great outdoors to the fullest, and were very satisfied. On the first morning we chose the Japanese-style breakfast, but the grilled fish was undercooked; it wasn’t grilled enough so the skin wouldn’t come off easily, and there was a slight fishy smell. If this could be improved, it would be wonderful. The Western-style breakfast and curry set meal were delicious. If we visit Obihiro again, we would definitely like to stay here again, and I would recommend it to family and friends as well.

One of my favorite accommodations
Hokkaido Hotel, conveniently close to town and offering Tokachigawa Onsen, is one of my favorite places to stay. Although I am a repeat guest, it had been a while since my last visit, and I was truly impressed that the front desk staff remembered my name. It may be because I once hosted a 60th birthday celebration party at this Hotel, but the hospitality of the front desk staff—the face of the Hotel—was excellent. However, there was one point that left me slightly dissatisfied during the Japanese kaiseki dinner, so I could not give all 5s. That said, the follow-up from the floor manager afterward was outstanding. I am always grateful for your courteous service. I have already made my next Reservation as well.

Only the dinner and breakfast were disappointing.
I heard it was my daughter’s birthday, and since we had a Room with an open-air bath, our stay was very comfortable. The course dinner was delicious and excellent, but only the Western-style breakfast omelet tasted bad and was disappointing. I would like you to improve it.

The Room was a twin set up for three guests, and the layout had been adjusted, making it easy to use. The Room was also clean and well maintained.

It was a pleasant Hotel.
Our flight was canceled, so we hurriedly made a last-minute Reservation and stayed here. It was a very pleasant Hotel. The Onsen was also nice (personally, the water temperature was a bit too hot for me, but that’s just preference). For dinner, we went to eat near the station on our own. Perhaps because it was a last-minute Reservation, or because we had a child with us, our breakfast table had no view of the garden and felt like it was by the back entrance—behind the coffee machine area. The coffee machine was noisy, and it was clearly an unfortunate table; that part was very disappointing and stood out to me. If you promote the great views as a selling point, that seating is really not suitable for guests... The self-service check-in system felt new and refreshing.

As many times as you like!!
We came back to Hokkaido Hotel again this year. The beautiful brick walls, the spacious garden view from the restaurant, a lovely shop where you can choose souvenirs—and of course, the food is outstanding!!

It was comfortable.
This was my third stay, and once again we were blessed with good weather. The trees and gardens around the Hotel are always soothing. I would appreciate it if you could briefly mention the welcome drink in the lounge at check-in.

Breakfast enjoyed while overlooking the garden was delicious. The Moor Onsen was also very relaxing. I would love to stay again!

When I stayed for two nights with breakfast and dinner included, it was a bit disappointing.
This is my favorite Hotel where I usually stay for 2–3 nights.\nBreakfast is delicious and highly recommended, with three options to choose from.\nHowever, while the beef stew is great if you have it just once,\nif you want Japanese food for the second dinner, you need to pay an extra around 3,000 yen,\nand if you want to eat without paying extra, your choices are a hamburger steak with the same demi-glace sauce or...\nthe fish dishes were not tasty at all—I regretted booking a meal plan.\nIt’s disappointing because there used to be Japanese options, and they were delicious.

A quiet Hotel surrounded by greenery
We stayed for three nights in June. The Hotel faces a beautiful greenway and has a spacious garden with well-kept lawns and trees, offering plenty of soothing greenery. The Onsen and sauna were great, and we also enjoyed the cafe desserts. We didn’t use them, but there were washing machines available as well. We would like to stay at this Hotel again.

Your First Trip to Tokachi
I stayed at this Hotel on my first trip to Tokachi. The guest room, service, and breakfast were excellent. In particular, the quality of the Moor Onsen water and the sauna were outstanding. My wife mentioned that she was dissatisfied that there were no partitions in the bathing area and that there were too few seats for drying hair. (It didn’t bother me.) I would like to stay here again next time.

It was a Hotel with a calm atmosphere and a slightly nostalgic feel. When I later contacted you about an item I had left behind, you kindly assisted me, carefully packaged it, and sent it to me. Thank you very much.

Great value Hotel
I think this is a good value Hotel. The area around the Hotel is surrounded by well-maintained gardens and trees, creating a Hokkaido-like atmosphere. The building feels a bit old, but the interior has a consistent color scheme and a calm ambiance. The Deluxe Twin Room we stayed in had renovated bathroom and washbasin areas, which felt clean, and the terrace made for a very pleasant stay. For breakfast, the main dish is brought by staff, while everything else is buffet-style—you need to serve yourself salad, fruit, drinks, etc. The restaurant faces a lawn garden; the tables are large and spaced appropriately apart, making it a relaxing environment for dining. The large public bath seems especially popular for its sauna; depending on the time of day, it was very crowded both morning and evening.

Unfortunately, the air-conditioning issues typical of this season still haven’t been improved.
Everything—the Facility itself, the Room, the Onsen, and the meals—was wonderful, delicious, and relaxing with no issues; however, I am dissatisfied with how the air-conditioning is handled during this season. When I checked out on my previous stay, I requested improvements because the Room temperature became too high at night and it was difficult to sleep. Although I had extensive discussions with the person in charge and was promised that measures would be taken, this time only daytime cooling was provided. At night, when the outdoor temperature dropped, operation of the outdoor unit was stopped and it switched to mere fan mode. As a result, the Room temperature reached 26°C; I was forced to sleep in tropical-night conditions indoors, and despite what should have been a pleasant stay, lack of sleep left me increasingly fatigued. People perceive heat and cold differently. That is precisely why during our previous discussion I emphasized creating an environment where each guest can achieve their own comfort through selectable operating modes and temperature settings. Even though you expressed understanding and an intention to improve at that time, this outcome was extremely disappointing and left me with no choice but to lose trust. Some may say “If it’s hot, open a window,” but there are no screens installed so there is a risk of insects entering. In addition, noise from cars on the road in front comes in as well—far from a comfortable environment. Let me ask again: Is your Hotel policy to prioritize reducing utility costs over guest satisfaction and comfort? Do you feel no shame in failing to deliver what you promised—such an insincere attitude? If someone feels cold, having a fireplace helps; adding clothing or using more bedding can largely solve it. But if someone feels hot, there is nothing beyond taking off clothes that can be done. As stated above, I am satisfied with everything except for how climate control is handled. However, being effectively forced into an uncomfortable sleeping environment ruins everything. I sincerely hope that your organization will reconsider this thoroughly as a whole and build an appropriate approach going forward. A Hotel exists because guests are satisfied. This may sound like one noisy complaint from a single guest; however, based on my experience staying at Hotels more than 250 nights per year both domestically and internationally: at top-tier Hotels throughout the year (regardless of season), guests can adjust heating/cooling modes and set temperatures according to their preferences—and Room temperatures never reach 26°C. I strongly hope that these conditions will have been improved by my next stay.

A hospitable accommodation with attentive service
Although it is an older building, you can tell this Hotel has been carefully and lovingly maintained. The Finnish-style sauna and the high-quality water of the moor Onsen were excellent, and breakfast was very satisfying. This is a Hotel I would definitely recommend to friends.

The breakfast was not good.
I have stayed at several Hotels in Obihiro, but the breakfast at Hokkaido Hotel was by far the worst. I think the half-buffet selection was among the lowest in both quality and quantity. I will never use it again.

I was able to truly relax from the bottom of my heart!!
I visited Obihiro during a break from work solely to enjoy Tokachi’s lush green landscape and this Hotel’s moor Onsen and sauna. There is also a direct bus service from the airport, which made getting here very easy. It was almost a 24-hour journey from Tokyo, but the Onsen and sauna were excellent—I enjoyed them to the fullest and was completely satisfied!

First visit in 22 years
I stayed here 22 years ago and came back because I wanted to visit again. At check-in, they still had my previous stay on record, which surprised me and made me happy. The Room with a terrace had a renovated, clean toilet and bath, while the living area still used the old switches as they were, which felt very calming. In the evening, we went to a local Western-style izakaya recommended by the front desk staff and enjoyed dishes made with local ingredients as well as conversations with the local staff. The public bath was on the small side, but the distinctive brown-colored water felt great. Also, it seems this Hotel is famous for its sauna; more than half of the guests were using it, so the bathing area was pleasantly uncrowded. For breakfast I chose the Western set. While watching Ezo squirrels in the garden, I was expecting a relaxed breakfast that wasn’t buffet-style. However, the corn soup, white omelet, and sausages were all cold. I had hoped for freshly baked homemade bread, but that was cold too—disappointing. My wife said her Japanese breakfast (miso soup) wasn’t warm either. Since other guests ate without saying anything, I assumed that was just how it was and ate it. In the chilly morning air, though, Rokatei sweets eaten on the terrace paired with hot coffee were delicious. Everything except breakfast was excellent.

Find tranquility on weekdays.
After finishing work over the weekend and having Monday off, I stayed here as a nearby getaway. There are shops close by, and access from the parking lot to the entrance was smooth. After relaxing in the Onsen, I enjoyed coffee in the guest-only lounge in front of the lobby, soothed by the quiet atmosphere and the piano music coming from the furniture. The next morning there was an earthquake and the elevator stopped, but the staff responded courteously and everything remained safe until it was restored. It was cherry blossom season, so I had an elegant breakfast while viewing the blossoms from the restaurant, and I also fully enjoyed the Onsen—an excellent stay overall. Highly recommended for a little luxury close to home.

Noise in a Quiet Hotel
I stayed at two Moor Onsen locations, and the water seemed slightly different depending on the place. I preferred this Hotel because it had a silkier feel and the spring quality suited my taste. There is one point I would like you to consider regarding my stay. From after breakfast until just before noon, staff were working in the garden—probably clearing fallen leaves—using a machine that produced extremely loud noise. In such a quiet Hotel, this level of noise felt excessive, and the workers were wearing ear protection. Have you considered how staying guests might feel? Is it necessary to carry out work so loud that workers need hearing protection during the morning hours when guests are relaxing? Please make use of the roughly three-hour window between check-out and check-in for this kind of work.

Exceptional hospitality.
I stayed for one night as a solo guest the other day. All of the staff provided wonderful hospitality. The bath was also excellent, especially the moor Onsen. While it is not particularly modern or trendy, the entire property felt clean and well maintained, with a calm and comfortable atmosphere. In addition to the warm service from the front desk and restaurant staff, I was especially impressed by the pleasant greetings from the housekeeping team. I would love to stay again when I visit Obihiro.

Relax and unwind in the Moor Onsen.
This is a Hotel you’ll want to visit many times a year. The Onsen and the meals are satisfying every time. You’ll get hooked on the feeling of time passing slowly.

The in-room Onsen is extremely hot!
I stayed here for the first time because I wanted to try Obihiro’s Moor Onsen. It’s within walking distance from the station, and I heard that depending on the day you might even spot squirrels in the garden where you can do birdwatching. I Reserved a Room with a private Onsen bath. It was spacious and comfortable, but since the bathroom is separated by clear glass, you might accidentally bump into it if you’re not paying attention. The water temperature in the large public bath was relatively lukewarm, but the in-room bath was free-flowing from the source and very hot, so it was hard to get in. Even if you cool it down with water, hot Onsen water comes out again quickly, so if you prefer a milder temperature, the large public bath may be better. I thought I liked hotter baths, but I couldn’t use it as-is. Since it was April, it might be just right in midwinter. There were plenty of towels and amenities, so I didn’t have any trouble. The large public bath is a bit small and may not feel very relaxing. When I made my Reservation it was very reasonably priced, and even though this Hotel offers solid service, you can stay at a great value. I saw comments on other travel sites complaining that guests can’t freely walk around inside wearing yukata robes and slippers, but I think that’s actually a good point—this isn’t that kind of Accommodation. Next time I’d like to visit in winter to see long-tailed tits (shima-enaga).

I love everything!
This was my third stay. No matter how many times I visit, it’s always exciting. The staff’s warm hospitality, the relaxing Room, the delicious meals, and my favorite Moor Onsen and sauna—everything is wonderful. It has a subtle Nordic feel. It feels like an Accommodation in the forest, yet there’s an AEON and even McDonald’s nearby—the contrast is great! A morning walk to Midorigaoka Park is also lovely. Leaving at check-out makes me sad..... Next time, I might try dinner as well. I love this place!
