    Great value for money.

    I’ve stayed here several times, and the service has improved each time. The view from the club lounge, with so much greenery, was very relaxing. Lounge hopping is always exciting. Being able to unwind in the sauna and bath is also fantastic.

    A Hotel stay with tower-side views and lounge access

    It was my first time staying on the Tokyo Tower side. The view was great both day and night, especially the Diamond Veil illumination at night. The Room was compact and clean, and the smart TV was convenient. The lounge wasn’t crowded, so I could relax and enjoy drinks, sweets, and light snacks. Since I mainly prefer Japanese-style food, I was also satisfied with the breakfast selection. The service from all staff—bell desk, front desk, lounge team, Prince One team, and housekeeping—was pleasant and welcoming. It was a high-quality Hotel stay after a long time, and I had a relaxing visit. I’d like to stay again.

    I paid 60,000 yen for this—was this really all I got?

    It used to cost just over ¥10,000 per night, but now there are days when it’s ¥60,000—this is insane.\nPlease do something about the lounge food; it’s always the same.\nIf you can’t change it, please let us use the patio.\nWe’re paying as much as ¥60,000 in Takanawa.

    I’ve written this many times—please do something about it.

    The lounge food is always the same, and I’m tired of it—please change it. If you can’t, then please allow guests to use the patio normally. Opening at 7:00 a.m. is also inconvenient; I want it to have the same hours as the patio. I’ve written this countless times, but nothing has changed. This is a disappointing Hotel—since the price is about the same as APA, you either put up with it or choose elsewhere. Wasn’t this originally a city hotel?

    No matter how much I write, it doesn’t get any better.

    Even though I clearly point out the issues, nothing improves. With that, things will never get better. I guess it’s just Prince after all—disappointing.

    Although this stay involved our children staying overnight and different arrival times, we truly appreciated all your thoughtful support. Thank you very much. My wife also seemed to reminisce about enjoying the pool at Shin-Takanawa and ringing the New Year’s Eve bell when our children were little, and she was delighted that we could stay at Grand Prince Hotel Takanawa again with our now-adult children and enjoy the lush natural forest setting. In addition, we were extremely satisfied once again with the wonderful view from our Room on the 15th floor, the luxurious interior, and the lounge services. Personally, I was unable to make use of cocktail time due to other commitments, so I hope to enjoy it on our next stay. This Accommodation became a wonderful family memory for us. Thank you very much.

    We enjoyed an elegant escape from everyday life.

    An elegant, refined classical Hotel—true to its reputation, it offers a calm atmosphere rarely found in newer Hotels. The Japanese garden at night was beautifully illuminated, with a vibe reminiscent of Toji Temple in Kyoto when I visited in spring. It was the perfect location for an evening stroll and photos. When I made the Reservation and mentioned it was my daughter’s birthday, we received a complimentary bottle of sparkling wine. My daughter—who had been disappointed that the club lounge didn’t offer champagne or sparkling wine—was thrilled! We picked up some light snacks at the convenience store on the first floor and enjoyed them together. The lounge offerings were compact but well balanced, and the Japanese breakfast menu was excellent—especially the grilled salmon, which was so good I went back for seconds. This is also a very memorable Hotel for me: I attended my university appreciation banquet here, hosted an after-party in a Room afterward, and visited many times for work during my corporate years. Returning felt like reuniting with old friends after a long time away. I don’t think there is another Hotel where you can stay on a club floor in central Tokyo at this price point with this level of quality. We will definitely return again. Thank you for such a wonderful stay.

    That was very informative.

    As with Shin-Takanawa, I’ve stayed at this Hotel several times and enjoyed visiting the lounges. I booked an affordable Plan and expected it to be crowded during the holiday weekend, but… Wow—this is what it’s like. I was shocked. Around 16:40, I made a Reservation for cocktail time at the Takanawa Lounge, and it was already a 90-minute wait. Around 18:15, I checked the status via QR code and it still showed an 80-minute wait. It hadn’t moved at all. At this rate, I wouldn’t get in until close to 20:00. Unable to handle the hunger, I bought some snacks and alcohol at the convenience store inside the Hotel. Around 19:50, I finally got into the lounge. I had a light bite, about three cocktails, then returned to my Room. My takeaway: if you can’t enjoy lounge-hopping as usual, you shouldn’t visit during a holiday weekend no matter how cheap it is. The lounge says “each visit is limited to 45 minutes,” but most guests don’t follow it. The people next to me had clearly finished eating by the time I arrived and were just scrolling on their phones. There were lots of empty glasses on their table, so it was obvious they’d been there a long time. Shouldn’t this be managed more carefully? With things like that, night time would be hours away—no chance. I went back to my Room right away and took a bath. The only good point was that Tokyo Tower’s illumination was different from usual, so it was enjoyable watching it from my Room.

    Use during the Golden Week holidays

    We enjoyed access to two club lounges, the whirlpool bath, and the convenient shuttle bus service. The Japanese-style club lounge was especially wonderful. Although there was a long wait during cocktail time, we could check the status on our smartphones and used the time to visit places like the aquarium. Food was also served during nightcap hours, so I imagine it was very demanding for the staff. Thanks to IKYU Diamond benefits, we were able to enjoy a relaxed checkout. For in-Room bath amenities, it would be nice to have items such as facial lotion provided. The garden was beautiful as well, and we were able to spend a calm, relaxing time away from the Golden Week crowds.

    We stayed for two nights during the Golden Week holidays. Although the Hotel was very busy, all the staff were kind and attentive. During cocktail time in the club lounge, they even extended service from the scheduled 19:00 end time to 19:50 (there is a 45-minute limit, though), which we felt was excellent service. We were also able to enjoy lounge hopping with Shin-Takanawa, and it’s a great-value Hotel where you can have draft beer from the server anytime from early morning until late at night. We would love to visit again—thank you very much.

    The Prince was unexpectedly great.

    I knew The Prince was highly rated, but it felt pricey, and foreign-owned hotels have become outrageously expensive, so I had never considered staying at Takanawa Prince. When I stayed there for the first time, I was surprised by how convenient and comfortable it was. I had assumed Prince Hotels were small Business Hotels, but both Takanawa and Shin Takanawa—where I stayed recently—are well-appointed city hotels with a high level of satisfaction. Going forward, I’d like to consider Tokyo Prince as well and stay at Prince Hotels more often.

    It was extremely crowded, and there were times when it didn’t feel relaxing.

    I stay here every few months and always enjoy my visits. Aside from the crowds, I was able to enjoy the Facility and dining comfortably as usual. However, I would like to see some improvement in the check-in staff’s service. At check-in time, my Room was not ready, and I was told, “Could you please wait nearby for about 15 minutes until it’s ready?” Since I had a club floor Reservation, I asked if I could wait in the lounge, and they accommodated my request. When I returned to the front desk about 15 minutes later, there was a long line. I experienced something similar at Shin-Takanawa, but they immediately took my luggage and said they would deliver it to my Room. They also guided me to the lounge right away and brought me the key as soon as the Room was ready. I’m not sure whether this is due to Hotel policy or individual differences among staff, but the contrast in service left a strong impression.

    In the midst of tranquility… the Hotel’s serene presence.

    I stayed here after an event in Shin-Yokohama. It was a bit of a walk from Shinagawa Station’s Takanawa Exit, but I arrived without getting lost. The excitement of looking out over the garden was absolutely wonderful. Since it had been a while since I last stayed at a Hotel in central Tokyo, I was really looking forward to it, and I was happy to have a 10th-floor guest Room (Tokyo Tower side) with a great view. The Room, bathroom, and toilet were all clean, and the amenities were well stocked. It rained the next day, so it was disappointing that I couldn’t take an early-morning walk in the garden. If I have the opportunity, I would love to stay again. Thank you very much.

    You can relax and unwind in a calm setting.

    I chose this hotel for business because it is close to Shinagawa Station, convenient for meeting in the lobby, has a calm tea lounge, and offers multiple access options (JR, subway, and parking). Everything met my expectations. While the Facility does feel a bit dated in places, it is well maintained and very clean. Perhaps because of the timing of my Reservation, I was also grateful to be able to use the club floor at a reasonable rate. I would like to stay here again.

    This Hotel has a distinctive character.

    I’ve recently gotten really into sightseeing in Tokyo. I regularly check IKYU’s site and pick out Hotels that offer great value for money. This time, I stayed at the Grand Prince Hotel Takanawa, which happened to be running a campaign. My first impression of the Grand Prince Hotel Takanawa was that the exterior feels a bit old, but it also has a dignified charm. Of course, the Room also has an elegant atmosphere, making it a very comfortable Hotel. Many recent Hotels place amenities near the front desk, but as you’d expect from a Hotel with this level of prestige, all amenities are fully provided in the Room. Having amenities prepared in the Room is definitely best. I also had breakfast; there was a wide variety of options and everything was very delicious. I would love to stay again if I have the chance. Thank you very much for your hospitality this time.

    This was the worst and most unacceptable service I have ever experienced at any Prince-affiliated property.

    I stayed for two days because I had work at the Hotel. For me, what matters most is the first and last impression—front desk service, the “face” of the Hotel. It was completely unacceptable: no greetings at all, especially from the older male staff members I dealt with. I am an IKYU Diamond member, but there was no confirmation or explanation of any benefits. I also could not check in from 2:00 PM, and there was no explanation about that either—so the Diamond benefits were meaningless. That made me worry about check-out as well. My plan included breakfast and Club Lounge access, but it was confusing. Is this IKYU’s fault or the Hotel’s? If Club Lounge access is included, why did I pay a “breakfast included” rate? Is there a case where you can use the Club Lounge but breakfast is not included? I have never experienced that before. If you have Club Lounge access, shouldn’t everything be available? The double Room felt tight even for one person; for two people with luggage it would be difficult, so a twin Room might be better. Also, there were no skincare amenities in the Room, so women should bring their own. For a club floor stay, it was disappointing that everything in the refrigerator was charged. This may have been the worst service among Prince Hotels. I had just stayed at The Prince Akatoki London; comparisons may be unfair, but their front desk and porter service were excellent—what you would expect in London. In London you never experience staff not greeting guests (“Hello,” “Good morning,” etc.). Here in Japan it felt terrible—no greetings at all. Even when calling by phone there was no greeting. Prince’s training seems to get worse every year. It’s disappointing because although I’m a Prince member, booking through IKYU Diamond or Amex usually comes with better perks and treatment than booking directly with Prince—so I rarely book through Prince itself. But this time even with Diamond status it didn’t work; overall it was bad. It’s unacceptable that staff don’t explain things properly. If early check-in wasn’t possible and only 3:00 PM would work, they should say so upfront at reception. In the club floor area as well: younger staff were terrible; two older female staff members were wonderful. Surprisingly, housekeeping staff gave the best greetings (which should be normal). Food options were average everywhere. Having a convenience store inside is helpful—it makes you think “the on-site convenience store is enough,” which says something about the level overall. The Club Lounge breakfast was decent compared to other offerings, but otherwise there were hardly any snacks or items available; many guests looked around and left quickly. The sauna and bath are small—still slightly better than using only your Room bath—but that’s about it. It’s uphill from the station and feels far; walking with luggage is not recommended. There is construction now and it can be hard to find the main entrance as well—be careful. This should not be called five-star—and honestly not even four-star in my opinion. There are many Hotels (even Business Hotels) with far better hospitality and service than this level. Unless I have work or an obligation here again, I won’t return—and for leisure travel I would choose somewhere else instead.

    A refined Hotel with a timeless, classic charm.

    I visited on a day when the cherry blossoms were in full bloom. The courtyard was filled with many magnificent cherry trees. The Hotel staff worked with a very pleasant attitude. I have had opportunities to visit this Hotel from time to time, but it had been a while since my last stay. I look forward to visiting again.

    Please do something about the breakfast in the Club Lounge.

    As I’ve written many times, the Club Lounge breakfast is always the same and boring. I stay 3–4 times a month, and I can list it all: messy scrambled eggs, steamed vegetables, two kinds of grilled fish, kinpira, salad, miso soup, curry, natto, ham and sausages, yogurt, pancakes, and bread. There is almost no variation—I’m completely tired of it. As I’ve said before, I want Club Floor guests to be allowed to have breakfast at the Patio as well; it has more variety and is a more enjoyable breakfast. The Lounge food is really disappointing.

    Enjoy the Takanawa area with a lounge-hopping experience.

    I stayed at the Grand Prince Hotel Shin Takanawa the year before last, so this time I stayed at Takanawa across the street. I enjoyed lounge hopping last time as well, but I enjoyed it even more this time. I think it’s because Takanawa had a proper variety of Japanese dishes during cocktail time, which felt more satisfying. The Japanese sweets at tea time also had a good selection and were delicious, and the breakfast buffet the next morning was excellent in both quality and quantity. One disappointing moment was when another guest asked a staff member in the lounge for tissues (probably for hay fever). There were only individually wrapped wet wipes and paper napkins available there, and when I wondered what they would do, the staff member pointed to the paper napkins and said, “Then use these.” The guest said, “If you don’t have any, never mind,” and went elsewhere. Watching it left me feeling uneasy—I thought there could have been a better way to say it. Maybe I’m expecting too much hospitality from Hotel staff. Also, from where you sit on the toilet in the Room, the wall with the toilet paper holder was a bit far. On top of that, each time you tear off some paper you have to lift up the cover to pull out more; if you try to pull it while seated without lifting it properly, it tears easily. It was a small but constant stress. It was also inconvenient not having a full-length mirror for checking outfits while changing. Other than that, the view from the large window was wonderful, the sofa was very comfortable, and overall it was relaxing and pleasant. All in all, being able to enjoy lounge hopping in different ways made for a great stay, and I’d like to stay again.

    I stayed on the club floor at Takanawa and did some lounge hopping, but at Shin-Takanawa the staff guided me to my seat and greeted me. At Takanawa, I was completely left alone. The Room and restaurants were great, but it was disappointing that only the club lounge—something I was really looking forward to—fell short.

    The Hotel was nice, ...

    The Hotel was nice, but access from Shinagawa Station wasn’t very convenient. It wasn’t far enough to take a taxi, but walking was tough because of the uphill slope. The garden was wonderful. Especially at night, it felt magical—although I was tired from walking, it was so beautiful that I forgot how tired I was.

    The service and atmosphere are excellent. They are always exceptionally courteous and attentive. This is my favorite hotel in the Prince group.
