    I’ve found another favorite Accommodation!

    We stayed in a Room where our dog could also stay to celebrate my wife’s birthday. From the moment we entered the property until we left, the staff showed outstanding hospitality, always ready to help with every step we took. Throughout our stay, we truly felt their thoughtful care for guests, and it’s easy to see why the Reviews are so highly rated. Although rain was forecast, the weather held up, and we were able to enjoy many wonderful views from our Room. By opening the floor-to-ceiling window in the bathroom, it instantly became a semi-open-air bath, and we could relax at length while listening to the waves and feeling the sea breeze—an absolutely wonderful stay. Points of concern There is an affiliated café about 3 minutes from the Hotel. The Hotel is an Accommodation where dogs can also stay, but it is basically intended for small dogs only. Perhaps because of that, as soon as we entered the café, a staff member frowned and said (clearly looking displeased), “We can only allow dogs up to 10 kg…,” without even greeting us. (Our dog was a 7 kg Mameshiba/Shiba Inu mix, so perhaps they thought he looked bigger.) Also, even if your dog is in a cage or crate, diaper pants are required. When the Hotel introduced this café to us, there was no mention of this requirement; as a result, we had to buy diaper pants at the café for 200 yen—even though diaper pants were already provided in our Hotel Room. If they are going to recommend this café, I would have appreciated being informed about the diaper-pants requirement. (I called in advance to confirm that bringing a dog was okay as well, but there was no explanation about diaper pants from the café.) The muffins served were dry and unpleasant, and even their farewell greeting felt perfunctory. I understand not everyone likes dogs—but it made me feel that if they dislike them that much, they should simply make it “no dogs allowed” from the start. This café is also featured on the Hotel website. Because the Hotel’s hospitality was excellent I had high expectations; unfortunately that gap was very disappointing and made me wonder whether it might be lowering overall satisfaction with the Hotel/Accommodation experience.

    Summer Vacation

    The ocean view from the Room was wonderful, and everything was kept very clean. The staff’s thoughtful hospitality made our stay very pleasant. The Onsen pool was also relaxing, and we really enjoyed it. All of the meals were delicious. It’s a Hotel we would like to visit again.

    No passport required—reach the Aegean Sea by local train?!

    Passing through the entrance, an incredible view opened up—blue seas and a beautiful space that felt unlike Japan. Rather than “luxurious,” “refined” fits best; the interior, harmonized with the color of the sea, was wonderfully comfortable. The Room was spacious with a breathtaking ocean view, and the walk-in closet and shower were easy to use—everything felt effortless and relaxing. At the spa, my eye level lined up perfectly with the horizon, making it feel as if I were floating between sky and sea. Enjoying a drink while soaking made it truly indulgent time. Dinner exceeded expectations. Of course it was delicious, but even the Arita-yaki tableware was stunning—like works of art. The Hayama beef was tender and incredibly flavorful. Dessert was delicate and charming with an elegant sweetness. The explanations of each dish were enjoyable as well; it was a happy time that satisfied both my appetite and my heart. Breakfast featured options like a green smoothie and soup—perfect for a stomach still full from dinner the night before. The gently flavored soup, infused with fermented vegetables and rich meat umami, was genuinely delicious. The tortilla and homemade yogurt were also outstanding. And coffee while looking out at the morning sea was simply unbeatable. This was my first stay here, but what left the strongest impression was the exceptional hospitality—truly luxury Hotel service, yet with an added warmth in how they engaged with each guest one-on-one. I also felt reassured by how well information seemed to be shared among staff members, which made for an extremely comfortable stay. I had such a wonderful time here. Thank you very much.”

    Exceptional hospitality and unforgettable Misaki-caught grouper.

    This Hotel was truly wonderful, with breathtaking views of Hayama and the warm hospitality of the entire staff. In particular, the Misaki-caught longtooth grouper served at dinner was perfectly cooked by the chef and genuinely moving—its plump, tender white flesh and rich fat that melted in my mouth were unforgettable. With outstanding cuisine and exceptional service, it became a very special stay. Thank you very much.

    60th Birthday Celebration

    We stayed as a family of three to celebrate a 60th birthday. Thirty years ago, I lived on the Miura Peninsula due to a job transfer, so returning brought back many fond memories. Thanks to the warm hospitality of the staff and the delicious meals, we were able to spend a wonderful time worthy of this milestone. It also became a very special memory for our family.

    Enjoy exquisite dining and breathtaking views of Hayama

    Otowa no Mori is a place we simply have to stay at least once a year. This time, we visited with the whole family. Since our grandchild is still small, we had planned to split mealtimes into two groups, but we were told the meals could be served as room service. We were able to enjoy wonderful French cuisine in comfortable clothes while spending relaxed family time together. Both morning and night, the Hayama views are superb.\n\nMy wife also found a club at Chojagasaki right in front of the Hotel and, unbelievably, tried SUP for the first time in her life. Now that we’ve discovered another way to enjoy our stay, well… our whole family agrees that from now on it might be twice a year.

    I stayed for one night over the weekend. With the wonderful ocean view, a spacious and bright Room, a dinner with plenty of dishes yet light and delicious, and the kind staff, I had a very enjoyable time. Thank you very much. The only slight disappointment was breakfast. It was hard to finish a hot drink while it was still warm, the bread selection was limited to a small croissant and a chocolate-filled pastry with no plain options, and the generously served smoothie may not suit everyone’s taste. Since dinner was excellent, breakfast felt like a noticeable contrast.

    A Wonderful, Great-Value Hotel

    We stayed here to celebrate my wife’s birthday, and everything was truly wonderful. I never write a Review, but Hayama Hotel Otowa no Mori was so good that I decided to write one even though some time has passed. We usually stay at Hotels or Onsen Accommodations around JPY 150,000 per night, but lately more places fail to deliver satisfaction worthy of the price. Declining service, staff who feel inexperienced, and an increase in poorly behaved guests—among other things. Because of that, we’ve become very careful when choosing a Hotel. That’s how we found Hayama Hotel Otowa no Mori. For now, we chose the reasonably priced Deluxe Balcony Suite. From arrival to checkout, every staff member was kind and courteous. We were able to relax comfortably and are truly grateful. The Room was kept impeccably clean, and we could unwind in the best mood. We were also lucky with the weather, and spending time on the balcony with a drink was fantastic. Dinner—the French course—was all genuinely delicious, and I was especially happy to have Hayama Queen Beef. I’ve had “legendary” Hayama beef before and had been wanting it again. This time it was Hayama Queen Beef—an even rarer version—so I couldn’t have been more satisfied. My wife said her favorite dish was the pan-seared spiny lobster. She usually prefers spiny lobster as sashimi, so it really stood out that she said this preparation here was exceptionally good. Breakfast was on the balcony. Enjoying it while soaking up the morning sun and taking in the ocean right in front of us reminded me of Hawaii. If I’d known it would be this sunny, I would have chosen the rooftop terrace instead. As a couple, we usually stay somewhere new each trip rather than returning to the same place, but this became one of the few Accommodations that made us want to come back. The Facility, Room quality, attentive hospitality from the staff members, and meals— everything about our stay was excellent. I feel we received value worthy of the price—if not more than that. It also felt lucky that we could stay at a great rate because we made our Reservation during an IKYU sale. With more luxury Hotels in Japan these days leaving you disappointed by service levels and guest atmosphere despite high prices, this is a truly worthwhile Hotel—the first one like this I’ve found in quite some time. If we ever visit Hayama again someday, we’d love to return. Please keep up this level of quality.

    Breakfast ruined everything.

    From the welcome upon arrival at the Hotel to being shown to the Room, as well as the drink service, everything up to dinner was perfect and I was extremely satisfied. However, at breakfast there was only one male waiter covering everything, and he was coughing both in the dining area and in the kitchen without wearing a mask, which felt unhygienic. Even when he explained the dishes, it felt unpleasant because it seemed like his cough or saliva might spray. It ruined what had been a great experience, and I just wanted to finish quickly and leave. (It put me in such a bad mood that I don’t even remember what we ate.)

    Perfect for birthdays and proposals.

    Thank you for everything. This was a high-quality Hotel in every respect. Unfortunately, the weather was disappointing, but I was able to propose during my girlfriend’s birthday celebration, and she is now my fiancée. Thank you as well for your support.

    Thank you for your thoughtful attention to every detail, from the comfortable Room and relaxing time to the surprise, as well as your consideration regarding ingredients we cannot eat.     A uniquely memorable French dinner, delightful through dessert.

    This was only our second stay, but it was even more satisfying than the last. My husband and I were able to truly unwind at the infinity pool with its breathtaking views of the sea right in front of us, as well as Oshima and even Mt. Fuji. Even though it’s close to Kamakura, it feels like another world. 　The French dinner we had been looking forward to exceeded all expectations. We were seated by the window, and with such attentive service we savored each dish one by one. I love Kamakura vegetables, and while the spiny lobster and Hayama beef were of course outstanding, the white asparagus from France was also exquisite—and I won’t forget the sweetness of the turnip or the flavor of what may have been smoked tomatoes. The caramelized foie gras was among the best I’ve ever had. The final dessert impressed me first with its elegance, and then again when I tasted it. The entire course made us feel that coming all this way was truly worth it. Also, thank you for accommodating my needs starting from the very first appetizer; they kindly prepared half portions so I could enjoy everything through to the end, which made me extremely happy. 　I ended up writing at length just about the meal, but thank you as well for fulfilling our various requests in every other aspect of our stay.     With my elderly mother

    Although the weather wasn’t on our side, we were able to relax and take our time. The view from the Room was wonderful, and the meals were very delicious. Not having a chair in the bath area was a bit difficult for elderly guests.

    The Room, meals, and the Hotel’s hospitality are excellent.

    We stayed for two nights in a Deluxe Suite. The large window with an ocean view was wonderful, the sofa was very comfortable, and the bathtub was spacious and relaxing. The French dinner in the evening was delicious—each dish had plenty of vegetables. The wine pairing came with detailed explanations, which made it even more enjoyable. Everyone at the Hotel—restaurant staff, front desk, and room service—was kind, making our stay very comfortable. Thank you.

    The teppanyaki was delicious!

    I stayed here before and had a great impression, so when I heard the Accommodation had been renovated, I decided to stay for a second time. The Room was beautiful and spotless, with refined interiors, and the ocean view filled the large windows—making it an exceptional stay. In particular, the teppanyaki dinner, which wasn’t available during my previous visit, was outstanding. Every dish was truly delicious and made me happy; you could really feel the chef’s sincerity in the food. I was impressed by each item—the bamboo shoots grilled on the teppan after being lightly seasoned with dashi, fresh spiny lobster (Ise ebi), and the thoughtfully crafted sauces. Of course, the star of the meal—the wagyu—was tender and sweet, cooked to perfection. Overall, starting with the front desk, many of the staff seemed highly experienced, giving a strong sense of elegance and reassurance.

    We were very satisfied—thank you very much.

    We stayed in a dog-friendly room to celebrate our dog’s birthday. Every staff member was kind, courteous, and attentive, and there was nothing at all that left us dissatisfied. At the spa, we enjoyed a beer while watching the ocean and the sunset, and had a wonderful sunset experience. We dined together with our dog, and the meal was properly served as a course and was delicious. The cake and meals prepared for our dog were also beautifully made with great care. We had an extremely satisfying day. Thank you very much.

    Although the weather...

    Although the weather was not ideal, we had a wonderful time. At first, we booked this Accommodation simply because we wanted to relax while looking out at the calm sea. In reality, the staff’s polished hospitality and the delicious meals featuring local ingredients made this an unforgettable stay. We would love to visit again in a different season.

    It was wonderful.

    We stayed here for our wedding anniversary. Not only was the “breathtaking oceanfront view” and the “modern, spotless Facility” wonderful, but we were also truly impressed by the staff’s hospitality and the excellent dinner and breakfast in both quality and quantity. We also loved the cozy, homey atmosphere—it suited our taste perfectly. In every respect, it rivals well-known foreign-owned or long-established prestigious Hotels—if anything, it surpasses them.     An Accommodation that made our anniversary truly special

    Overall, it was wonderful. The maisonette Room offered beautiful views from both the second and third floors. Stepping out onto the balcony, I could hear the sound of the waves, which was very soothing. At first, I thought the pendant lights in the Room were just decorative during the day, but at night—when it gets dark around the Hotel—they glowed softly and showed great taste. Each dish was delicious, and the explanations of the food were memorable. I appreciated being able to request an anniversary plate at the time of Reservation without needing to make an additional request. My companion was delighted with it. The staff felt truly professional, and I was very comfortable throughout my stay. The Facility was well maintained, and it seemed like a great deal of effort goes into keeping everything clean. The infinity pool felt a bit lukewarm, but afterward I stayed pleasantly warm and relaxed. I would love to visit again.

    We stayed shortly after the grand reopening, and as soon as we got home we wanted to come back again—so we were finally able to return. All the staff were very considerate of my mother, who has difficulty walking, and helped us in many ways. The meals we were most looking forward to were even more delicious than expected.     Wonderful and lovely!

    We stayed as a family of three, including our daughter, to celebrate my wife’s birthday and our wedding anniversary. It was our first stay, and we were amazed by how wonderful everything was—the Hotel atmosphere, Facilities, views, and spa.     Enjoy an Accommodation with breathtaking views

    The ocean view from the Room was stunning, and we could even see Mt. Fuji from the window. All of the staff were kind, and we had a very comfortable stay. The Room was spacious, and the view bath was also relaxing. This time we chose a Plan with breakfast, and enjoyed it via room service while taking in the spectacular scenery. Next time, we would like to try the teppanyaki dinner. We hope to visit again in summer.

    In particular, our hospitality is exceptional.

    This is my third stay. I have searched extensively for high-end Hotels in Japan, but this Hotel is truly the best in the country in both facilities and service. The hospitality is especially outstanding. As soon as I get home, I want to make my next Reservation right away.
