    The bath is incredibly luxurious! (Haha)

    I have visited many Onsens, but I have never stayed at an accommodation with such a luxurious bath. I chose the Premium Gazebo, and it truly makes you feel like royalty! Even the non-premium gazebo exceeds the premium level of an ordinary hotel. The bath is simply amazing. The only downside might be the meals... They are delicious enough, but for this price, I expected a bit more.

    A very nice Ryokan. I will visit again.

    We stayed at around 20 hotels and ryokans for leisure trips over the past year, and this ryokan ranks among the top one or two. The room was excellent, the gazebo (different from a regular private bath) was fantastic, the meals were incredibly delicious, and the staff's hospitality was outstanding. At this price point, it’s truly exceptional. We will definitely stay at this ryokan again. We arrived at Izu-Atagawa Station and used the hotel bus for transportation. After checking in, we stayed for 2 nights and 3 days in what we believe was a suite room category. We always prefer larger rooms when booking multiple night stays at any hotel or ryokan. The gazebo package plan allowed us to use it four times during our stay (2 nights and 3 days). Each session lasted between 50 minutes to an hour and a half. The gazebo came fully equipped with towels, water, juice, etc., offering an open-air bath with stunning ocean views. When we wanted a break from bathing, we could move to an air-conditioned adjacent room while still enjoying the view of the sea. As onsen enthusiasts, we also enjoyed using the large public baths—they were wonderful as well. Regarding meals: both dinner and breakfast were absolutely delicious! Local seafood such as sashimi of golden eye snapper stood out—it’s something you’d only find in high-end sushi restaurants in Tokyo. Appetizers like meat dishes or other fish dishes (including blackthroat seaperch tempura), red miso soup, lobster clam soup—all were delightful! My wife even had seconds during breakfast—a rare occurrence that speaks volumes about how good it was. Before dinner each evening, complimentary drinks including juices or alcohol were available at the bar. Additionally throughout our stay there were free treats like afternoon tea time snacks or morning coffee served in the lobby area—another thoughtful touch! If there’s one minor improvement point: some small lockers near the large public baths didn’t lock properly (I personally avoid leaving my room key there). It would be great if these could be fixed eventually by management—but honestly everything else exceeded expectations so much that this is just a tiny note. Overall rating: perfect score!

    Completely satisfied again!

    It has become harder to make a reservation for solo trips recently, but I’m so glad I could visit this time. I especially appreciated the excellent dining experience during my stay. The snacks offered in the lounge were all delicious, and I ended up eating too much before dinner. Dinner featured a luxurious menu with small portions of various dishes, all incredibly tasty. Whether paired with drinks or enjoyed on their own, the meals were delightful. The abalone grilled at the table and domestic black Wagyu beef were just part of it—it was pure bliss! The chef's dedication truly came through in every dish. Although I was full, the Japanese cuisine felt relatively healthy overall. Breakfast was equally satisfying with freshly cooked rice from a special pot and plump golden-eye snapper as well as an array of side dishes that I finished completely. Between meals, soaking in the onsen warmed me to my core, and relaxing in the comfortable room made my one-night stay fly by so quickly. I also loved enjoying chilled Moon Road craft beer at Nichian—a wonderful treat! Even after checking out, I could relax leisurely in the lounge without feeling crowded by other guests—an unexpected but pleasant surprise! I even bought some of those delicious snacks from the lounge as souvenirs; it’s hard not to indulge when you’re having such a great time. This accommodation is truly a rare gem where you can feel good throughout your entire stay—I absolutely want to come back again!

    A dream come true, a moment of bliss

    I had always wanted to stay at Bosui, but never had the chance until my daughter took me there to celebrate my birthday. From the warm welcome, check-in process, guidance to the Room, dining experience, and service at the lounge, everything was full-service as expected, allowing me to spend an incredibly blissful time. The blue sky and sea visible from the lounge, Room, and private gazebo were stunningly beautiful and very soothing. I understand that working at a Ryokan can be challenging for everyone involved; however, please continue your bright and attentive service as there are guests like me who have such happy moments because of it. My dream came true with this unforgettable experience of pure bliss—completely satisfied!

    Relaxing, Comfortable, and Delicious Accommodation

    First and foremost, you can enjoy a stunning view of the vast ocean from both the lobby and your Room, with the sparkling water being incredibly beautiful. Although I fell asleep, my husband mentioned that at night, the moon reflecting on the water was truly magical! The staff were very kind and approachable, making our stay extremely relaxing. The meals were not only delicious but also carefully prepared, allowing us to enjoy both their taste and presentation. You can savor plenty of local ingredients. Thank you for your hospitality. We will visit again!

    I want to become a repeat guest.

    From the moment we arrived at the station to when we were dropped off, we had an absolutely wonderful time. We relaxed many times at the café in the lobby, but the view from our Room, the private gazebo, and the hospitality of all the staff were all truly satisfying. Both dinner and breakfast were perfect in presentation and taste—100 out of 100. The portions were a bit too large, but everything looked so delicious that we enjoyed it all with delight. Thank you so much for your heartfelt hospitality!

    It was my first visit in years, and I was amazed!!!!!!

    We visited this accommodation a few years ago for my wife's birthday, and this year, after several years, we decided to return. The elegance and beauty of the building and facilities are exactly as seen in the photos. The view of the ocean right in front creates an extraordinary feeling that instantly makes you realize you're on a trip. Although not labeled as "welcome drinks," the variety of beverages and snacks in the lounge, along with matcha tea and sweets served upon moving to our room, immediately set this accommodation apart from others. The private gazebo experience was over in no time during our one-hour reservation, but we were impressed by services like black soybean tea and water provided next to the bath area. The changing room was spacious enough to feel like another room within the accommodation itself. Then came dinner—preceded by complimentary drinks at the bar, including draft beer! However, considering dinner ahead, it was wise not to overindulge despite such generous offerings. The dining venue heightened our expectations even further—and yet every dish exceeded them! While seafood being delicious is expected here, each dish was carefully prepared rather than just relying on its raw ingredients alone; there wasn’t a single moment where we felt bored with what we were eating. For those opting for a multiple-night stay: apparently even more dishes are added! While tempting to try it all... I’m not sure if I could finish everything! Post-dinner services at the night lounge were also exceptional. Breakfast featured stone-grilled miso soup with just-right seasoning—it was absolutely delicious! The seaweed warmed from below by fire had such rich flavor that it could make you finish your rice entirely on its own. Although checkout time is 10:00 AM, they kindly asked if we'd like to relax further inside afterward—and allowed us continued access to their lounge until departure—a surprising gesture till our very last moment there! On leaving day when my 3-year-old wanted an original teddy bear souvenir so badly he started fussing about it—the staff member kindly said: "Next time you visit here again—I’ll buy one for you!" This made him happy enough as we left satisfied (and I'm sure he’ll remember her promise!). All in all—everything about this place amazed us beyond words!!! It truly delivered immense satisfaction throughout our stay!

    Overall, it was good, but I had high expectations for the view and cuisine, so I felt slightly underwhelmed. The view from the second floor included the sea and parking lot; I hoped to see a moonlit road on the water, but it was not visible as it was early morning. The cuisine had generally strong seasoning, and some dishes felt less homemade. I wished for more attention to details like broth. The Room had thoughtful touches such as incense and ornaments, which were nice. The service was good but not exceptional. However, my overall impression remains positive.

    Questioning the standards of Ikyu+.

    1. Meals: The dishes were elaborate and deserving of full marks, but I found three bones in the grilled barracuda (and accidentally swallowed one). Unfortunately, I experienced throat discomfort the next morning, which reduced my appetite. 2. Service: Staff training seemed insufficient, with inadequate explanations about the Facility. There was no notice regarding the timing for laying out or removing futons, and even some of my personal belongings were taken by mistake. After contacting the front desk in a panic, they were finally returned to me. 3. Bath: The large communal bath is quite outdated, with mold covering parts of the ceiling—such a shame given the excellent quality of the hot spring water. 4. Spa Gecca: It was perfect for relieving fatigue; I was able to relax thoroughly for an hour thanks to it.

    Why the IKYU recommendation mark? stunned sigh..

    Why does this accommodation have the IKYU recommendation mark? The location was lovely, and seeing the IKYU recommendation mark (crown) gave me confidence to visit. The stay was for a friend visiting from overseas, and I accompanied them during check-in to assist with explanations about the accommodation. When I asked for my car keys to move it to the parking lot, they left the engine running as they handed it over and entered the building. The staff member guiding us to our room spoke in a rushed manner, assuming we would understand everything without proper explanation. When asked where we wanted the futon placed: Staff: "I don’t know; that’s up to the futon team." Me: "Could you please let them know?" Staff: "I told you, I don’t handle that; it’s up to them." She then hurriedly left without addressing our concerns. Shocked by her attitude, I called reception requesting not to be assisted by her during our stay. The response? Reception said dismissively, “Oh well, it's dinner time now so you probably won’t see her again.” To my surprise, she entered our room shortly after without knocking and said casually “Here’s your tea!” leaving us stunned. When I pointed out she should knock before entering: Her response? “I did knock.” Both of us were speechless. At dinner time when we headed towards what seemed like an unlit dining area with no guidance or staff present at first glance—confusion ensued until calling reception resolved things eventually. While some aspects such as interactions w/ polite chef & stylish counter seating stood out positively amidst chaos overall experience marred significantly due mishandling across multiple touchpoints including vehicle retrieval post-dinner revealing prolonged neglect (engine running windows open).

    A Wonderful Stay

    I have been visiting this accommodation frequently over the past few years. The view from the top-floor lobby, the ocean view from every room, the private gazebos, and the consistently delicious cuisine always captivate me. This time as well, everything was wonderful during my short 1-night, 2-day stay. However, I did notice some minor changes in service during this visit. For example, after dinner, there were no New Summer Orange Peels served in the room as before; and for breakfast, seaweed that used to be served warm was now simply placed in a wooden box. These small adjustments made me feel a bit nostalgic for how things used to be. A few years ago, even sock laundry services were discontinued—perhaps due to rising costs—but I understand these challenges are inevitable at times. Still, with enhanced services like drinks at the lobby lounge and other improvements overall, this remains an excellent accommodation where I would love to stay again in the future. I look forward to visiting again when it gets cooler!

    Accommodation Worth Revisiting

    We enjoyed a pleasant stay with good weather, allowing us to relish the scenery during lunch, relax in the Onsen, and unwind in our room. The Moon Road Room on the second floor was comfortable. Except for the refrigerator in the room not cooling well and the lobby restroom being outdated with dim lighting, we had a very enjoyable experience. My mother, who visited to celebrate her recovery, was also delighted.

    Indulge Your Senses, Ultimate Relaxation Accommodation

    I used this accommodation to celebrate his birthday. Although it seems to be a long-established accommodation, the renovated guest rooms and dining areas offer a charming modern Japanese style without feeling outdated. The tea incense burner in the room was soothing, and I fell asleep listening to the sound of waves, which completely relieved my fatigue. The private open-air bath session lasts 90 minutes, providing ample time to relax. The free drinks included a wide variety of options such as alcohol and local sodas, which we thoroughly enjoyed. Bath towels and amenities were provided at the private bath area, making it convenient to use without carrying extra items—this was very helpful. It was also delightful that we could use it during morning hours as well. The meals featured vibrant dishes made with seasonal ingredients and local specialties, offering visual enjoyment as well. At breakfast, I experienced for the first time warming miso soup by adding hot stones—it was an exciting experience! Even though our stay was on a weekend, shared spaces like the lounge and large public baths were not crowded at all, allowing us to unwind peacefully. I would love to visit again for another special occasion and highly recommend this accommodation to friends!

    It was a wonderful family trip.

    We visited this Ryokan for a family trip after a year, bringing my mother who came from afar. We had a wonderful time enjoying the clean room, attentive service, and delicious meals. Although the weather was unfortunate and we couldn't see the moon, I hope to enjoy it next time we visit. To further enhance satisfaction, I felt that it would be better if food provided in wooden boxes at the lounge was replenished more frequently and staff were more accessible nearby for assistance. As for the premium gazebo, there seemed to be something like algae in the bathtub; having some clear explanation about this would be helpful (I was initially surprised as I thought it hadn't been cleaned). Overall, this stay became a very memorable experience for us. We definitely look forward to visiting again!

    Couple's Getaway for Golden Week

    The reason for choosing this accommodation was because I stayed here last year and had a very positive impression. In addition to the ocean view, there are thoughtful touches throughout, such as private baths where you can enjoy the stunning sunrise while soaking in the onsen. The meals are kaiseki cuisine with exquisite flavors, though I felt the portions were slightly large for my age group. I appreciated the ryokan's hospitality, like offering free coffee along with mini sweets and fruits in the lobby. However, one concern was that during meals, some staff members did not use polite language consistently—perhaps they intended to be friendly? It would be nice if they could study basic customer service skills a bit more. Additionally, I felt there could have been more explanations about the dishes served during meals since people often wonder about ingredients. Overall, this ryokan offers high-quality food and baths along with excellent service. Spending a holiday here while gazing at the sea allowed me to relax both physically and mentally for an exceptional experience.

    No hot water.

    I visited on a weekday in April. Having visited several years ago and had a good impression, I decided to return. I was looking forward to it, but... Since I chose the "Room Assigned on Arrival" plan, I was given a spacious room which lifted my spirits. However, I immediately noticed that the flowers arranged at the entrance of the room were wilted, which made me feel a bit sad. Shortly after, it was time for my private bath reservation. When I went there, the shower had no hot water—only cold water came out! Even after letting it run for some time, there was no improvement. I called the front desk and they said they would fix it; however, nothing changed. Standing there cold and uncomfortable without being able to relax as expected left me very disappointed since I'd been looking forward to this experience so much. In fact, I even had to remove my makeup using cold water. Back in my room, just in case, I checked both the shower and sink for hot water—but none came out either. Despite contacting the front desk again that evening and even into the next morning—there was still no hot water. During dinner that evening an apology was offered along with another private bath reservation suggestion; however fearing another issue with hot water availability—I declined and opted instead for using only public baths going forward. As compensation one complimentary drink (e.g., beer) got provided during dinner service though earlier already consumed beverages while waiting elsewhere beforehand somewhat diminished its impact overall. Both dinner & breakfast meals themselves proved excellent quality-wise yet overall disappointment lingered deeply given prior fondness toward accommodations previously enjoyed here before now marred by such issues encountered unexpectedly ruining what should’ve otherwise been celebratory birthday occasion spent peacefully soaking amidst relaxing surroundings instead turned frustrating ordeal     Accommodation with a charming gazebo

    We arrived a little earlier than the check-in time, but we were promptly shown to our room. The welcome drink was served in the room. We headed straight to the large public bath. The ancient cypress bath was completely private, allowing me to enjoy it all by myself. In the evening, we visited a reserved gazebo. It was such a relaxing and beautiful space that I’d love to try other gazebos next time, especially during a full moon. The meals were as delicious as rumored, with the sashimi being particularly fresh and plentiful—an absolute delight! The lounge offered complimentary soft drinks and wine, making for an indulgent stay at this accommodation. A heartfelt thank you to our room attendant for their exceptional hospitality!

    The view was great, the service was excellent, and I was very satisfied. The gazebo was especially comfortable. Even without an in-room bath, I could relax fully. Meals were served at a counter seat with an ocean view, and the food was delicious. The massage chair on the first floor felt amazing. It would have been nice to have a magnifying mirror for dental care.

    I would love to visit again!

    We stayed in two rooms with my daughter's family. The rooms, the large public bath, and the meals were all satisfying. It was an accommodation very friendly to young children. It was a bit disappointing that the private bath was only available the next morning, but bathing in the morning light was wonderful. The original local beer was incredibly delicious.

    Long-Awaited Bosui

    I wanted to spend time in a place with a full view of the sea, hoping to see the moon road. Unfortunately, it rained, and I couldn't see the moon, but I was delighted by the extraordinary scenery, the Facility, and the thoughtful care of the staff. Gabose was truly wonderful. The tokoroten and vegetable sticks at the post-bath lounge were delicious. The Kuroneiwa Onsen was also very relaxing. Although there were some concerns like a non-working clock, one memorable moment was when they made rice balls from leftover breakfast rice for me to enjoy on my train ride home—they were incredibly delicious!

    Stunning Views

    Room Amagi We visited as a group of three, including my 86-year-old mother and husband, wanting to stay at an accommodation with an ocean view. The stunning ocean view was breathtaking. The room was spacious and provided a comfortable space where we wanted to spend ample time from check-in to check-out. The in-room dining had generous portions, almost too much to finish. I was concerned that the abalone might be too tough for my mother, but it was steamed and very tender; even I, who usually dislike shellfish, enjoyed it thoroughly. We used the Premium Gazebo "Blue Invitation" and the Private Gazebo "Ukifune" during sunrise hours. Bathing while watching the sunrise was truly spectacular. Overall, we were satisfied but rated it 4 stars for specific reasons: the layout of the gazebo area made moving from the shower booth to the open-air bath inconvenient due to their distance; walking with a wet body in cold weather required drying off or wrapping oneself in a towel first—this detracted from what could have been a perfect experience given its beautiful views. Additionally, there were no handrails at the open-air bath on the first floor, making it difficult for my elderly mother without assistance from me. Lastly, despite looking forward to enjoying fresh vegetables served after bathing starting at 7:00 AM as advertised, they were not available on time—a disappointment indeed. Given that this accommodation comes with a high price tag, one naturally expects perfection in every detail!

    I visited before and this time stayed with three generations of my family. The first thing that impressed us was the stunning ocean view from the lobby floor. The bath had a perfect temperature, not too hot, allowing us to relax comfortably. The meals were plentiful and delicious.

    Thoughtful Hospitality

    We stayed here during our trip to Izu, visiting Omuroyama and Jogasaki. The attentive hospitality made our stay very pleasant. The Onsen and meals were excellent. We were able to relax comfortably at a leisurely pace. However, the Room we stayed in had limited access to the sink, some of the Facility felt slightly outdated, and the gazebo lacked a changing area, which made it a bit inconvenient. For these reasons, we deducted some points.
