    At Bousui

    This is the accommodation I visited nearly 20 years ago. The hospitality and service were excellent. The onsen, guest rooms, and meals were all delightful, leaving me completely satisfied.

    A heartwarming accommodation that makes you say "I'm home" in your heart.

    A calming accommodation I have visited five times in less than two years. Each visit brings new smiles and encounters. The staff provided friendly and warm hospitality with just the right touch. There were also thoughtful extra dishes prepared by the head chef. Surrounded by the great nature of East Izu, it was a fulfilling experience in time and space. The particularly excellent touch of the treatment sessions and the morning Kanzawa that made me feel one with nature were truly special experiences! Thank you to those who kindly picked me up at the nearest station for all your help.

    An Exceptional Accommodation

    I visited with my parents, who are in their late 80s, and my sister, who has just finished raising her children. When I was in my 20s or 30s, my mother used to talk about "Bousui" as her dream Ryokan. After 30 years, I was finally able to fulfill her wish. First of all, the breathtaking and grand view from the entrance to the lounge was stunning. My parents were overjoyed and expressed their excitement. The Room we were guided to was wonderful; the view from the window, amenities, drink bar, matcha tea with Japanese sweets—all these thoughtful touches made us very happy. The gazebo we used was called "Hinonagori." We entered it at twilight and enjoyed watching silhouettes of Oshima Island and fishing boats right before our eyes. The bath and relaxation space were spacious and luxurious; although we took turns using the bath among myself, my parents, and my sister, everyone could relax without feeling rushed or uncomfortable. Since it was a day after a full moon that evening, we could see a beautiful moonlit path on the sea from the lounge on the eighth floor. For dinner preparation time beforehand, we were guided to another room where alcohol beverages and light snacks were served—a special touch that created an elegant atmosphere with excellent service. Each dish during dinner was beautifully presented with great attention to detail; there were many varieties of dishes that tasted delicious—leaving us completely satisfied. The staff attending our meal service showed exceptional kindness which added warmth throughout dining experience. Within facility premises soothing Andean music played featuring kena & zampoña instruments while massage chairs along deep-sea water stations offered restful breaks nearby flower arrangements placed thoughtfully around spaces enhancing ambiance further still drinks freely available alongside changing confectionery treats provided inside lounges ensured utmost comfort overall stay felt pampered beyond expectations! Light meals sampled indoors became souvenirs purchased later shop front desk area bringing family back home joyfully sharing memories meanwhile floral decor items like Flower Ball gifts also taken away marking unforgettable moments cherished forevermore thanks heartfelt gratitude extended entire team making this trip truly irreplaceable journey together!

    I have always loved Bosui and have stayed here several times. I used "Toki no Fune" during the summer and had such a wonderful experience that I decided to return. As expected, this stay was also incredibly satisfying. The Onsen, the cuisine, and especially the warm hospitality of the staff were truly healing... Thank you for all your thoughtful care.     Consistent service every time you visit.

    I am a repeat guest who visits about once a year. I love the private gazebo bath and enjoy using it every year. My wife feels more comfortable when there are no other people around, so we can relax as a couple and truly enjoy our time. The meals, featuring seafood such as spiny lobster, abalone, and turban shell, were absolutely excellent. The service is consistently outstanding no matter when we visit, and we look forward to staying again next year.

    I had a relaxing and healing time, thank you very much.

    The weather was perfect, and although it was a short one-night, two-day stay, we were able to relax and feel rejuvenated while enjoying the ocean view. The meals were luxurious, delicious, and plentiful—perfect for a couple in their 50s. Thank you very much. However, there were a few concerns. Upon entering the room, we noticed watermarks or stains on the table that seemed to be from glasses. It was wet and had to be wiped with tissues immediately after entering the room, which left us feeling disappointed and wondering if everything else would be okay. Later on, we had a reservation for a private gazebo and were told we would be contacted once it was ready. However, even five minutes before the scheduled time there was no update. Unsure of what to do but not wanting to wait any longer, we decided to head over ourselves. For first-time guests like us who are unfamiliar with hotel rules or procedures, this could lead to unnecessary anxiety or discomfort for some guests. Lastly—and I apologize for bringing up so many points—my wife mentioned an incident at the public bath where she happened to be alone when three individuals who appeared Chinese entered wearing casual clothes and yukatas (robes). They began taking photos in the open-air bath area which startled her greatly and made her feel unsafe. We worry that such behavior might lead to accidents in the future; thus felt compelled to share this concern with you. Thank you for your understanding regarding these matters; please forgive us if any of our comments seem unnecessary or intrusive.

    Although it was a one-night, two-day stay, we thoroughly enjoyed a relaxing and satisfying time.

    I stayed in the Moon Road Room for one night to celebrate my mother's upcoming birthday and her 77th milestone. About 20 years ago, we had planned to visit this accommodation but couldn't make it. Remembering that, I decided on this stay. From arranging transportation from the station to discussing the celebration details, all communication after completing the reservation was prompt and courteous, providing a sense of reassurance. The private gazebo exceeded expectations. We enjoyed high-quality hot springs in a private setting. The meals were elaborate, vibrant, and delicious. My mother, who usually eats very little, had an excellent appetite during our stay, which made me very happy. My young child in early elementary school also thoroughly enjoyed their time here; however, there were no children's robes or socks available. If these were provided, it would have been perfect—so I hesitated but deducted one star for this reason. Although a one-night stay can sometimes feel rushed, we were able to relax both physically and mentally during this trip and are extremely satisfied with our experience. We would love to visit again someday. Thank you very much!

    The staff's smiles made for a pleasant and comfortable stay.

    When the car arrived, a smiling male staff member greeted us warmly, making us immediately feel that choosing this accommodation was the right decision. Although it took some time to be shown to our room, the expansive view of the Pacific Ocean through the large lobby windows allowed us to relax and enjoy the moment. The yuzu hot tea was also delightful. Upon entering our room, we always start with a "cheers with beer!" In our room, there was a CD titled "Moon Road" and an aroma burner prepared for us. Using them truly made us feel like we had escaped daily life and enhanced our travel mood—an excellent service touch. Outside the window, we could see the vast Pacific Ocean sparkling under sunlight, fishing boats floating peacefully, and Oshima Island in the distance—a perfect setting for an exceptional toast. The clean and tranquil room exceeded expectations. Meals were also impeccable, featuring local ingredients and unique dishes. We heard from one of the attendants that it was a busy day for them; perhaps that's why alcohol service took some time. As expected from what we knew beforehand, our chosen private open-air bath did not allow additional hot water to be added. The water temperature felt low, and washing areas were quite cold as well—next time we'll choose one where adding hot water is possible. On another note, I must mention how amazing their pillows were! Unlike any other accommodations we've stayed at before—they seemed very beneficial for health—and I believe my good sleep can be attributed entirely to those pillows. However, there was one thing that greatly concerned me: what was that sound? Throughout our stay in this room came an incessant "bo-bo-bo..." noise from somewhere inside—it persisted even when turning off air conditioning! Some guests might find it bothersome enough not to stay in such rooms. Still overall though—it’s truly wonderful accommodation worth revisiting again someday!

    My wife and I stayed for one night and two days. This is our favorite accommodation that we visit twice a year for several years, and every stay provides a satisfying experience.     For your daughter's birthday celebration...

    The rain from the previous day cleared up, and the sky and sea of Kitagawa shone brilliantly blue. This time, we stayed at Accommodation Bosui to celebrate my daughter's birthday. My daughter, who has become a big fan of Bosui just like me, was overjoyed. We also used the Premium Gazebo and couldn't stop smiling as we looked at each other, wondering if it was okay for just the two of us to enjoy such a spacious bath. Thank you for providing us with such a wonderful room. The staff member who served our meals was cheerful and fun, allowing us to enjoy delicious food in an enjoyable atmosphere. At night, although it was a waning moon, it was large and bright enough for us to finally see the Moon Road we had been hoping for. Thanks to everyone at Bosui, my daughter had the best birthday ever. Thank you very much! It was a wonderful stay.

    The finest hospitality Ryokan

    This was my first visit, and I came to celebrate a birthday. From the email received after making the Reservation through IKYU, everything was very polite and made me even more excited about the stay. At the spa treatment, despite not requesting in advance and mentioning that my companion was from overseas, they immediately provided assistance in English, which I greatly appreciated. The staff member who took care of our dinner and breakfast mentioned it had been a year since joining but was such a wonderful person that it warmed my heart. I felt that all the furnishings, Facilities, and atmosphere created by everyone working here truly enhanced this Ryokan's charm. It’s a place I’d love to visit every year as something to look forward to. Thank you so much!

    This was my first stay at "Bousui," and it was truly an amazing experience. The ocean view from the room was like a painting, and I found myself gazing at it, losing track of time. Both dinner and breakfast featured seasonal ingredients carefully prepared, with each dish crafted with heartfelt attention that left me deeply impressed. The onsen had a gentle water quality that warmed me to the core, and I slept soundly at night listening to the sound of waves. The pillow was so comfortable that I purchased the same one immediately after returning home. The staff's warm hospitality made my stay pleasant from check-in to check-out.

    I recently stayed at the accommodation again after a long time, and as always, I was comforted by the warm hospitality and smiles of the staff. The meals were luxurious, and all my friends were delighted. However, as we age, our appetite decreases, making it difficult to finish an entire course meal. Everyone thought it would be nice to have a lighter course option for seniors. Breakfast was delicious as well, but the rice was unusually hard this time and quite different from usual, which was a bit disappointing. Since I love this accommodation so much, I will definitely stay here again!

    I visited for the first time this June and was very satisfied with the calm atmosphere without large groups, the pleasant hospitality, the comfortable Room, and the delicious food, so I decided to return. Once again, I had a delightful stay that did not disappoint my expectations. It’s wonderful that all staff members are friendly and polite with smiles, not just specific individuals. I was also impressed by their attentive handling of my allergies and how they noticed I am left-handed during dinner; by breakfast the next morning, chopsticks were set up for left-handed use. The Private & Premium Gazebo was exceptional as well. The meals showcased the chef's exquisite skills with flavors that embodied the minimalist beauty of Japanese cuisine. The fish dishes were outstanding, as were delicacies like abalone and soups. I would love to visit again!

    The view was spectacular.

    Unfortunately, the cloudy sky prevented us from seeing the sunrise or moonrise, which was disappointing. The view from the Room was spectacular, making us feel as if we were floating on the vast ocean. With a bed placed by the ocean-facing window, it felt like being on a cruise. The gazebo (private bath) was surprisingly spacious, and with only 50 minutes of private use time, there wasn’t enough time to fully enjoy its size—it felt like such a waste of that space. Before dinner, we were offered drinks—a unique experience for us—and enjoyed plenty of wine. As expected from a seaside location, the sashimi selection was abundant and allowed us to savor fresh seafood delights. The lounge offered drinks and snacks that changed throughout different times of day, making it fun to try them all. Next time we visit, I hope to see a full moon through that beautiful window...

    The service was excellent.

    There were various free services, which made the stay very satisfying. The view was excellent, and I fully enjoyed the sunrise rising from the left of Oshima. Although it was a new moon at night and I couldn't see the moonlit path, I'm looking forward to experiencing it next time.

    A unique location and a sense of freedom you won't find elsewhere.

    I stayed for one night and two days. I requested a shuttle service from Izu-Atagawa, and I was able to check in right after the 2:00 PM start time. The ocean view from the lounge on the 8th floor is incredibly open and refreshing. Drinks and light snacks are available at any time, with sparkling wine offered in the evening for added convenience. From the first floor, you can access a seaside path; walking towards the port leads to small shops where you can buy basic groceries. Walking in the opposite direction takes you to an open-air bath by the shore, which guests can enter for free while wearing yukata—a truly impressive bath experience. The meals were diverse, with each dish carefully explained, leaving me very satisfied. The highlight of this accommodation is undoubtedly its gazebo usage. With minimal concern about being seen from outside while bathing, there’s almost nothing obstructing your view of both the sea and Izu Oshima Island—offering a private space complete with relaxation areas. It provides an unparalleled relaxing experience like no other I've had before. One minor issue was with my room's refrigerator or mini-bar—it barely cooled anything, making it unusable when considering nighttime use. It felt inconvenient when I didn’t want to go all the way back to the lounge. Nevertheless, this accommodation is highly recommended for those seeking a relaxing experience focused on location and comfort!

    A short trip with my wife in her late pregnancy

    I visited with my wife, who is in the late stages of pregnancy. I usually don't write reviews, but this stay was so memorable that I felt compelled to share. First, the private gazebo was exceptional. With Sagami Bay right in front of us, it offered a serene space to enjoy an extraordinary and tranquil experience. The service provided by the attendant was incredibly pleasant. Their thoughtful attention and perfect balance of presence made us feel at ease throughout our stay. All the staff were outstanding—truly impressive. Special care was taken with meals for my pregnant wife, and we were especially grateful for the lobster dish that combined both deliciousness and safety. The entire property exuded a calm atmosphere. The views from our suite room and open-air bath provided deep relaxation for both body and mind. This unforgettable stay offered fulfillment through both hospitality and ambiance. We are already looking forward to visiting again someday!

    An Unforgettable Wedding Anniversary!

    We stayed here for our wedding anniversary trip. The hospitality was truly exceptional. Every dish was amazing, and they even took a commemorative photo during the meal and prepared an anniversary plate for us. The next morning, they made rice balls with the leftover rice from breakfast, which deeply moved us. Everything was incredibly delicious. We used the Premium Gazebo "Blue Invitation" bath, and we were amazed as soon as we entered the room. It became a very memorable wedding anniversary for us. Lastly, thank you to the head chef for seeing us off personally. Next time, we hope to visit with our grandchild and family!

    Hotel hime

    Power outage occurred.

    The electricity at the Hotel went out at 11:30 PM, and an announcement was made at midnight stating there was "no prospect of restoration." Although it was a rainy day, there were no major weather issues. Only the emergency lights remained on, the air conditioning stopped, and the bright emergency lights made it impossible to sleep all night. The power was finally restored around 3:00 AM, but the Hotel did not take responsibility and only offered a small gift as an apology. The only saving grace was the private bath. While half of the staff were kind but lacked knowledge, the other half had a slightly peculiar demeanor that didn’t feel reassuring.

    Undoubtedly the No.1 Ryokan in Izu.

    I have visited various Ryokans before, but I was truly moved by the high quality and variety of private baths, as well as the breathtaking views. The manager, despite being in charge, was not at all overbearing or arrogant and was absolutely wonderful. All the staff were reliable and professional, making it a Ryokan where you can confidently bring your loved ones. This traditional Japanese Ryokan with its old-world charm is located deep in Izu, and it is absolutely worth visiting.

    A reliable and charming accommodation

    Thank you for always providing such enjoyable moments. The scent and music at the accommodation make me feel at ease, knowing I've returned. The meals are very delicious, but the portions are a bit large for someone with a small appetite... especially in the morning. After indulging in food and drinks the night before, I couldn't eat much at all—my apologies! It would be wonderful if we could choose something like French toast, coffee, and fruit for breakfast. For dinner as well, having a small portion course (perhaps made slightly more luxurious) would be amazing. It would also be fantastic if there were rooms where dogs could stay too... though I understand it might be difficult. This time we visited with a new family member and had such happy and enjoyable moments together. We will continue to use your accommodation as a family from now on!

    It was excellent!

    This was my first time staying here. The Room and the private open-air bath were spacious, and I was very satisfied!
