    It was a cozy accommodation.

    Although more places now accept solo guests, an Accommodation where you can stay alone is still valuable, and as a solo traveler I especially prioritize comfort. Since meals were served in the Room, I didn’t have to interact with other guests and was able to fully enjoy my own time in a comfortable Accommodation. Also, although an unexpected situation occurred, everyone at the Accommodation responded very sincerely, so it did not leave a bad impression. Just one request: I would like hand soap to be provided at the Room washbasin. Even so, I was more than satisfied. Thank you very much.

    The Onsen and the views are both wonderful.

    This was a repeat stay, and we were very satisfied again. From the private open-air bath, we enjoyed both the Onsen and ocean views. The ocean views from the Room and lobby are wonderful. The drinks and food served in the lounge are also very delicious. The freshly picked morning vegetables in the large public bath’s post-bath area were delicious as well. This is an Accommodation we would love to visit again for its Onsen, views, meals, and service!

    We were very satisfied with both the bath and the meals.

    The private gazebo was truly wonderful! All the meals were delicious, but the portions were too large for us and we felt completely stuffed. We would be happy if there were a course with smaller portions. The large public bath was available even late at night, and we appreciated being able to use fresh towels each time. It was also great that the lounge could be used from early morning. And the staff in charge of our Room and meals were very kind, and we really enjoyed talking with them. We would love to stay again. Thank you very much.

    Used for a birthday.

    We stayed here for my husband’s birthday. We stayed in a sea-side Room called “Murasaki” on the 5th floor. Meals were served in the Room. Dinner was an abalone course meal. For breakfast, you can choose the main dish; we chose kinmedai (splendid alfonsino). Everything was very delicious. The baths are one of this Accommodation’s highlights. At the time of Reservation, you can book a private bath called “Gazebo” twice—once in the morning and once in the evening. Depending on the Room, there is even an open-air bath beyond a living-room-sized space—an amazing setting. We had selected a free-drinks Plan and an 11:00 check-out, but these two weren’t properly coordinated and there was some miscommunication. Still, it was a very good Accommodation.

    For a refined getaway

    If you’re a young person who wants to become an adult, you should visit at least once. It made me feel, “This is what an adult trip is.” This is a wonderful Ryokan where you can quietly enjoy the scenery and savor delicious meals to perfect satisfaction. It’s an elegant place that also made me think I want to become this kind of adult, watching the other guests around me.

    This is a wonderful Hotel.

    This was one of the best Hotels I have ever stayed at. The building is beautifully maintained, and from the lounge right after you enter, you get a stunning panoramic view of the ocean. The lounge also offered a great selection—from drinks to light snacks, including unique local items—and I was very satisfied. The staff were extremely attentive and kind, and took great care of us. The food was excellent, generously featuring local seafood and mountain produce. Not only was the dinner course wonderful, but the Japanese breakfast—both the side dishes and rice—was also delicious. The quality was so high that I could have had seconds with just seaweed, bonito flakes, and soy sauce. The side dishes were prepared in a way that really brought out the quality of the ingredients. The private baths come in different types to choose from and are fully equipped with a shower room and washbasin—nothing to complain about. If anything, the only small downside is that each session is 50 minutes, so it’s hard to fully enjoy both the relaxation chair and the bath at a leisurely pace. The public bath was spacious enough as well, and it was wonderful to hear the sound of waves from the open-air bath. Seeing stars in the night sky was truly soothing. I would definitely like to visit again.

    It was a relaxing one-night stay!

    I visited in search of an Onsen with an ocean view. Both the guest Room and the bath had spectacular views! The spacious Room and bath were wonderful, with stunning ocean scenery and the sound of the waves. The meals were not only delicious but also a delight to look at. Thank you for your thoughtful hospitality. Just one thing: the floor in the washing area of the bathroom was slippery, which felt unsafe.

    A place for adults to unwind and leave their fatigue behind

    I stayed for one night on a no-meals Plan. Without the pressure of having to be at the dining area at a set time, I was able to relax and take it easy without watching the clock. Rather than feeling like I was staying at an Accommodation, it felt like I was visiting my own vacation home in Izu. Not only the lounge, but also the Room, bath, and even the changing area were all unified with a consistent design. I realized there was nothing that felt out of place, and I was surprised by how deeply relaxing a space can be when there is no visual noise. Also, the items sold in the souvenir shop reflected a genuine commitment to valuing local makers who create things in Izu, which truly moved me. At check-in, I asked the front desk staff whether the Kawazu cherry blossoms were in bloom, but they didn’t seem to know clearly—this was my only disappointment. I would love to visit again in a different season.

    Please be careful with IKYU Plus as well.

    We stayed here for a family trip. After check-in, we were shown to our Room right away. The view from the 8th-floor lounge was wonderful, and it was very comfortable to be able to freely enjoy drinks and light snacks. The meal at the private dining room “Nichinichian” also offered a wide variety of dishes, all delicious, and we were very satisfied. We also appreciate the flexible and warm service, such as making rice balls from the kamameshi for us. However, there was one very disappointing point. When dessert and the kamameshi rice balls were brought to our Room, “glasses” was used as an identifying marker between staff members based on a physical characteristic, and it was shown to us as-is. Even if it was for operational identification purposes, using a physical trait as a marker—and then handing it over 그대로—felt very uncomfortable. This is a highly rated Accommodation, and we made our Reservation with confidence, so this response left a bad aftertaste. For the sake of future guests as well, we hope this will be improved.

    Visiting for a birthday

    I visited with my wife on my birthday. We thoroughly enjoyed the delicious food and drinks, and we were able to relax in the Onsen at our leisure, making it a very satisfying stay. Thank you to all the staff for your kindness. We would love to visit again.

    Outstanding hospitality.

    The staff’s hospitality and thoughtful care were truly warm and wonderful. Each dish was delicious as well. The Onsen was a bit disappointing for me, as I prefer hotter water and it was quite crowded, so I couldn’t relax as much as I had hoped. Overall, however, I was very satisfied. Thank you for a lovely stay.

    Your First Moonlit Path

    I first stayed here more than twenty years ago, and ever since, whenever I visit Izu, I choose Bousui and have returned many times. This was my first stay on a full-moon night. The moon road seen from the lounge was truly breathtaking, and it reminded me once again how wonderful Bousui is. On full-moon nights, there is also a craft beer service in the lounge, so I highly recommend visiting on a full-moon day.

    A Mystical Accommodation

    The view was wonderful. We could enjoy complimentary food and drinks in the lounge, relax on a comfortable sofa, and spend a happy time reading or chatting while looking out at the sea. The meals were also very delicious. We were able to relax in the baths as well (the open-air bath was a little lukewarm), and in the private gazebo the water temperature was just right, the black soybean tea was delicious, and the moon was beautiful—an excellent experience overall. The Shuttle Service was also very helpful. Thank you very much.

    An Accommodation You’ll Want to Stay at Again

    Although it was a last-minute decision and my first trip to Higashi-Izu, I somehow remembered the name Bousui, so I chose it as my Accommodation. From the lounge and the Room, the ocean stretched out wide, with a wonderful view of Izu Oshima right in front of us. The Onsen water felt gentle on the skin and was excellent, and I was able to relax at both the premium gazebo “Aonoizanai” and the private gazebo “Hinonagori.” For dinner, I chose the “Special Menu Plan: Quality-Focused with Smaller Portions—Limited-Time Value,” which was just the right amount for me, and I thoroughly enjoyed fresh seafood. The staff were also very attentive, and overall it was a flawless stay; if I could make one request, I would love to have loungewear like samue in addition to yukata.

    It was a wonderful experience.

    It was the perfect treat for myself. Although I booked the Omakase Plan, it included in-Room dining, and the staff member in charge of my Room was very kind—it was a wonderful encounter. The food was truly delicious, and each dish on the menu was outstanding. This Ryokan also offered a variety of thoughtfully designed services throughout the property. It is a Ryokan I would definitely like to visit again next time with my daughters.

    A Visit to Bousui After 3 Years

    Visited this accommodation three years ago and couldn't forget it despite trying other accommodations, so I came back. The hospitality remains exceptional, and even though the price is slightly higher than others, it's worth it. Upon arrival, we were served yuzu tea—warm for adults and cold for children. After settling into the room, we enjoyed tea sweets and matcha—a service that would surely delight international guests as well. The front desk offered a drink service with sparkling wine in the evening along with small snacks and desserts, making each visit exciting. The private open-air bath was spacious and clean; soaking in the bath while watching the sunset was made even better with their black soybean tea service—a delightful experience for our whole family. Although it was a 50-minute session, they guided us early enough to make it feel more than sufficient. Dinner was exquisite; every bite reminded me how glad I was to return here. Breakfast stood out with freshly cooked rice, dried fish, and miso soup warmed on a stone—it was absolutely delicious. When my son felt unwell at night, they kindly prepared rice balls for him despite the unexpected situation. He mentioned wanting to come back when he's feeling better, so we plan to visit again soon. I can't recall their name now but our room attendant was incredibly kind and made our stay very comfortable—thank you!

    Everyone is friendly and welcoming with warm smiles.

    From the large windows of the lounge, you can enjoy a clear blue sky, a sparkling sea under the sunlight, and a vivid view of Oshima Island. It’s a moment that makes you exclaim with joy, "Ah, I’m so glad to be back here." Previously, I traveled with my daughter, but this time we stayed at Bosui at my husband’s request. He also seemed delighted by the view from the window. This time, we used the private gazebo "Tsuki Izuru." While gazing at fishing boats floating on the sea and Oshima Island in the distance, we enjoyed watching the sky gradually darken and spent an incredibly relaxing time. The meals were delightful thanks to our kind server's warm smile. We enjoyed delicious dishes to our heart's content in a cheerful atmosphere. Thank you for providing us with such a spacious and bright room. We were able to stretch out and relax completely. After checking out, we had North Kawazu’s specialty "Aji Sushi Lunch." The bite-sized sushi topped with Tosazu jelly and condiments was incredibly fresh and delicious. As we were leaving, my husband said: “All of your staff are so cheerful, kind-hearted, and pleasant. This might be one of the best ryokans we've ever stayed at. Let’s come back again.” With that comment from him, it seems like our next stay is already decided! Once again during this stay as well, we had an unforgettable and enjoyable experience. Thank you very much to everyone at Bosui!

    It was the best wedding anniversary!

    We stayed again after some time away, this time for our wedding anniversary, and enjoyed a Multiple Night Stay. As always, the Facility was spotless and all staff were attentive and courteous, allowing us to spend a truly relaxing time. The meals were especially wonderful—despite staying multiple nights, we were served different menus each day, and everything was delicious. This is our favorite Ryokan where we always leave completely satisfied. We will visit again when we have the chance. Thank you very much.

    It’s always truly relaxing, no matter when you visit.

    About 20 years ago, we stayed here as a couple for the first time, and since then, we have visited every few years on special occasions. This time, after a long break due to the pandemic, we stayed with our children—a grade schooler and a toddler. As soon as we arrived, the breathtaking view from the lobby made us exclaim in awe together with our kids. Once in our room, we took in the scenery again and enjoyed truly relaxing family time at the Premium Gazebo reserved just for us. Dinner was a classic yet refined experience featuring local and seasonal ingredients prepared with care. It wasn’t about flashy or unconventional dishes but rather “authentically delicious Japanese cuisine.” Even our children—who usually don’t prefer Japanese food—ate surprisingly well, which showed how much they genuinely enjoyed it. When traveling with kids, it’s easy to opt for accommodations offering buffet-style meals for convenience; however, that wasn’t necessary at all here. Despite being an established ryokan with history, its timeless charm and thoughtful hospitality remain intact. We were reminded once again of how exceptional this place is. We felt deeply rejuvenated during our stay. Thank you so much! We look forward to visiting again.

    Premium Gazebo "Invitation of Blue" is Amazing!

    This is my third stay, captivated by the premium gazebo "Invitation of Blue." The spacious and serene design, themed around Zen, offers an open space overlooking Sagami Bay that is truly unique. The outdoor bath with a view of the sea stands apart from others. Soaking in the tub feels like merging with the ocean—a breathtaking experience that alone makes staying here worthwhile! Please note that the private gazebo has a completely different setup. I mistakenly booked it wrong this time and had to request an additional arrangement in a hurry. Also, meals vary depending on your room type—either served in-room or at a dining area—so be sure to confirm during reservation. I only learned this during my recent visit as all meals were previously served in-room. As for other aspects, as some have mentioned, you might wonder why this is part of IKYU Plus. Compared to other IKYU Plus Ryokans, you may notice aging rooms and public baths or casual service from older staff members that could feel less refined. There was some miscommunication regarding the gazebo reservation; however, the reception staff dressed in kimono handled it so sincerely that I felt deeply grateful. It seems there are indeed staff members who provide exceptional hospitality here!

    This accommodation offered the best hospitality I have ever experienced. Dinner was, of course, excellent, and breakfast had so many delicious options that it seemed impossible to finish—but I managed to eat everything. When only the rice was left, without saying a word, they brought it back as rice balls. This thoughtful gesture deeply moved me and showcased unparalleled hospitality. I could truly feel the care of the head chef throughout my stay at this accommodation. It was also my first time being personally seen off by a head chef upon departure. Thank you very much! I would love to visit this accommodation again.

    Third or fourth visit to Bosui?

    The property has changed slightly since my last stay (e.g., drink service in the lounge ◯), with both delightful updates and a few things I missed (no more car wash service...). The food remains exceptional as always. The private gazebo, including the paid option, allowed for extended use, which was very satisfying! I’ll be back again for New Year’s or another season!

    You will surely be satisfied.

    I stayed in the Moon Road Room during New Year's. It was a wonderful experience to watch the mystical moonrise and sunrise while lying on the bed. Both dinner and breakfast were served in a private dining room, allowing for a relaxed meal. The private open-air bath was also very spacious, offering a luxurious feeling. Next time, I would love to visit during the supermoon.

    The hospitality is excellent.

    This was my first stay at the accommodation. I stayed on the 6th floor, and the wide windows offered a stunning view. The ocean right in front was breathtaking, making me want to gaze at it forever. The enjoyable conversation with the staff left a lasting impression. I used the private bath twice; while preferences may vary, I found "Ukifune" more charming than "Sazanami." I'll save exploring other options for my next visit. There was only one disappointing point: while most areas were impeccably clean, there was some dust in one lower spot, which was unfortunate. The pre-arrival email from the concierge team showed excellent care, and even the postcard sent after my stay felt heartfelt—this attention to detail made this accommodation stand out among several options I considered. All staff members we encountered were pleasant and welcoming, allowing us to enjoy a wonderful New Year’s holiday here. Thank you! This is an accommodation I would recommend to loved ones and look forward to visiting again myself!

    That's unfortunate.

    This was my second stay. Since I stayed during the year-end last time as well, I expected a similar level of busyness, but there were some points where I felt there might be a staff shortage. First, regarding the Japanese sweets service after check-in, I was told to specify a time between 4 PM and 6 PM and to be in the room at that time. As I had already reserved a private bath from 3:15 PM, I thought it would be fine to finish up slightly early and return to the room by 4 PM. However, being required to stay in the room at exactly that time felt restrictive and disappointing. I understand that due to limited staff availability they may need to schedule visits by room within specific timeslots given current circumstances. Still, it might have been better if this service could have been provided in the lounge during check-in instead. Regarding the private bath reservation: when booking this stay online beforehand—unlike last visit—I appreciated being recommended another type of bath option which showed great hospitality! However on arrival day itself when informed via phone call saying "Your reserved bath is ready," upon heading over we noticed cleaning carts left outside its entrance area; assuming oversight forgetting removal perhaps? Upon entering inside though realized space hadn’t yet undergone proper cleaning process entirely either! Waiting briefly (~5 minutes) nearby until passing-by staff addressed situation promptly resolving issue afterward helped somewhat alleviate concerns yet still caused confusion initially wondering whether wrong location mistakenly entered ourselves requiring double-checking back-room details unnecessarily meanwhile too late relaxing mood disrupted overall experience prematurely ending session earlier than hoped-for ultimately wishing thorough pre-confirmation checks conducted prior notifying guests next-time around instead ideally avoiding such mishaps altogether moving forward hopefully     Stunning View!

    We visited for a family trip. The view from the lobby and the room was fantastic, allowing us to relax and unwind. The staff's service was excellent, the facilities were sufficient, and the room was clean. Spending time in the Private Gazebo was especially memorable.     A luxurious reward stay awaits you.

    Once a year, I take a solo trip to relax at my favorite accommodation, and this year I stayed at Bosui, which I had been curious about for some time. I was looking forward to experiencing the beautiful gazebo, and it exceeded my expectations in the best way possible—it was absolutely stunning! Unfortunately, the day was quite cloudy, so I couldn't fully enjoy the sunset, moonlight, or sunrise. However, the view of the sea sparkling under rays of light breaking through the clouds was breathtaking. The meals were all incredibly delicious. I found myself enjoying sake along with them and indulged until I was completely satisfied. The head chef's warm smile and kind words added to an already delightful dining experience. I definitely want to stay here again! Next time, I'd love to see Moon Road with my own eyes. Thank you for such a wonderful stay!

    It was an accommodation I would love to stay at regularly!

    I stayed for one night to relax after a year of fatigue. The view was excellent, and I could spend a relaxing time in the room. The flowers displayed throughout the accommodation were also very beautiful. The private bath was spacious and provided a luxurious experience. Additionally, the meals were incredibly delicious and impressive. I enjoyed drinks and snacks in the lounge while having a peaceful moment, making it a truly perfect accommodation. Next time, I would like to try the spa. Thank you very much!

    At Bousui

    This is the accommodation I visited nearly 20 years ago. The hospitality and service were excellent. The onsen, guest rooms, and meals were all delightful, leaving me completely satisfied.
