    Elegant Hotel

    Since I live in Nagoya, I never had the opportunity to stay at this accommodation before. This time, due to an event, I stayed here for the first time. Being a traditional hotel, the building is understandably not new. However, everything from the room to every detail was clean and did not feel old at all. You can sense the pride of this hotel in maintaining its quality. Upon entering the room, there was ample closet space and a spacious bathroom, creating a truly relaxing atmosphere. While the room itself wasn’t particularly large, it was well-designed for comfort and usability—something I really appreciated. The meals were served buffet-style and were both delicious and diverse in selection. My wife mentioned that having soft-serve ice cream would have made it perfect for her, but I found it satisfying as is. This is a hotel you’d want to recommend to others!

    For over 20 years, I have stayed at this accommodation every January for work. Although my check-in time is always late, I feel a sense of relief and comfort as soon as I arrive at the hotel. Once I enter the room, its coziness makes me not want to leave, so I always order room service. The menu is very extensive, but the large fried shrimp I had last year was so delicious that I ordered it again this year. The batter and shrimp head were crispy, and the shrimp itself was plump and juicy—absolutely delicious once again. The room and interior are lovely, but what stands out most are the incredibly soft towels and bathrobes. This long-established hotel maintains its timeless charm with friendly staff who provide warm hospitality, making it a truly relaxing place to stay. I'm already looking forward to staying here again next year!

    Espacio Stay Journal

    I experienced a morning stretch session this time. As it was my first time, we started with stretching areas like the hip joints. The session included about 30 minutes of light stretching to check flexibility and gradually improve it step by step. By the end, my posture had significantly improved, leaving me feeling great—perhaps thanks to the excellent instruction. The pool was very warm, with two jacuzzis available and plenty of relaxing beds for a comfortable experience. Additionally, the staff were extremely kind and attentive, making the entire experience truly pleasant.

    Stay at Nagoya Kanko Hotel

    As always, this Hotel offers an exceptional experience. You can enjoy meals, drinks, and relaxation at your own pace. With the addition of a pool, sauna, and bath facilities, the Hotel has evolved even further to provide everything you need for a perfect stay. It’s a place where you can fully enjoy comfort and refreshment. There are also various activities to participate in that make each visit enjoyable. This time, I tried morning yoga. Practicing by the poolside helped warm up my sleepy body in the morning and brought balance to my day. Thanks to the kind and thorough guidance of the instructor, even as a first-timer in yoga, I had an incredibly enjoyable time. I am truly grateful for this experience and have started incorporating some practices at home as well. I look forward to visiting again!

    Stayed for one night...

    Stayed for one night from January 2nd. This year, as the main focus was dining with my daughter's family, we chose a standard room. The room was simple, clean, and comfortable. However, there was no explanation about the use of the front floor during check-in, and I only found out it could be used at check-out. Two years ago, I stayed on the Espacio Floor during New Year's and was completely satisfied with the staff's service and the room in every aspect. It felt disappointing this time as I wondered if the difference in price reflected a difference in service quality.

    Usually quiet.

    I have used this place several times, but this time there was a group with poor manners. Around 1 a.m., their children were making noise in the hallway. In the morning, they were banging on Room doors as well. It was surprising as it was my first experience like this. Other than that, I had a comfortable stay.

    What is Nagoya Kanko Hotel? I didn't know about it.

    When I first heard the name, I thought it was an old tourist hotel. However, my husband from Aichi told me that it’s a great hotel where international dignitaries stay, so I decided to give it a try. The hotel retains the charm of older establishments and feels uniquely Japanese compared to modern hotels. The breakfast—omelets, bacon, ham, sausages, and potage soup—was deliciously homemade with attention to detail. The bar "Prelco" (I hope that's the correct name) was impressive as well—the staff's service, cocktail flavors, whiskey selection... even the special drinks available until 7 PM were amazing! Everything deserves more than 5 stars. If this hotel were nearby, I would visit regularly. Maintaining such a place must require significant effort and expense. While there are occasional negative reviews in other feedbacks, I personally want to support this hotel. Many repeat guests seemed to be enjoying their stay while making good use of its services. This is a hotel that makes you want to come back again. Please keep up the great work—I’m cheering for you!

    Stayed at the accommodation during the year-end trip.

    As expected from a long-established hotel, the service was exceptionally courteous and pleasant, making for a very comfortable stay. The room showed some signs of age but was impeccably clean, reflecting the staff's dedication and hard work. Due to the room layout, with the bathroom adjacent to the bedroom, ventilation was good but it caused low humidity, making the room quite dry during our stay. Overall, it was an enjoyable trip to Nagoya.

    A tranquil Hotel

    The lobby is now located on the 6th floor, offering a more private check-in experience. Next to the lobby, there is a lounge where you can relax, read books, or enjoy tea, which was a delightful service. Since it was December, the Christmas decorations on the first floor were also lovely. The Room was clean and comfortable; however, one downside was that footsteps from the Room above echoed late into the night.

    It was an elegant Hotel.

    While searching for accommodation for a short trip, I discovered this traditional hotel and decided to stay here. The hotel has a sense of grandeur, and the staff's hospitality was refreshing, truly befitting a long-established hotel. The classic room was spacious and serene, with thoughtful touches throughout. I was also deeply impressed by the Christmas ornaments displayed in the lobby and elevator hall.

    I stayed in the hotel's club room to relax and escape from daily life, and it met my expectations. The staff's service was pleasant, everything went smoothly, and I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. Additionally, when I was confused about retrieving my car from the parking lot upon departure, a front desk staff member kindly offered assistance and guided me with great care.     I liked that it was not like a typical modern Hotel. I will use it again. If I were to point out any concerns, the directions from the free underground parking were unclear, and the map of the surrounding area provided at the front desk was too broad.

    We stayed at the Hotel for our wedding anniversary. From check-in to check-out, everything was very comfortable, making it the best anniversary ever. My wife was very pleased and mentioned she would like to stay again. We will definitely visit again. Thank you very much!

    Nagoya: Your Go-To Accommodation, Done

    This is my second stay, and the cleanliness of the entire accommodation and the attentiveness of the staff are impressive. Although it is not a new hotel, cleaning is thorough. The renovated rooms are bright and comfortable. The meals, both Japanese and Western, are delicious with each dish carefully prepared. The lounge for guests was also a relaxing space to spend time in. I plan to make this my regular accommodation. However, on weekends and holidays when there are weddings, the underground parking lot tends to be almost full, making it difficult to find a spot, and the narrow passageways could use some improvement.

    Nagoya Kanko Hotel

    This was my first time staying here. The attentive care of the staff, befitting a long-established Hotel representing Nagoya, left me with wonderful memories. I was very satisfied with the thorough cleanliness and high-quality amenities. The breakfast offered a wide variety of delicious handmade dishes. However, while the width of the parking spaces in the underground parking lot is not extremely narrow, larger vehicles might need to be cautious. It was a comfortable and reassuring Hotel that makes me want to stay again. Thank you very much!

    When I stayed at the accommodation, I forgot my phone charging cable in the room and went back to retrieve it later. It was handed to me at the bell desk in a transparent plastic bag. Previously, when I left something behind at a hotel near Nagoya Station, they wrapped it nicely and placed it in a hotel-branded paper bag before returning it. While this is a small matter regarding a guest's forgotten item, I believe such gestures reflect the quality of service provided by the accommodation. Although I often stay at Nagoya Kanko Hotel, this was a disappointing point.

    A truly prestigious and traditional Hotel

    I had heard from a friend from Nagoya that this was a historic hotel, and I could feel its history in a good way. It wasn’t about physical age but rather the Japanese-style hospitality and the sense of security not found in international hotels. The staff’s pleasant response to requests was excellent. Although I didn’t stay on the club floor this time, there is an exclusive lounge for guests with a wide selection of drinks. It was perfect for taking a break after returning from outings. The room was also very clean, and I would definitely like to stay here again. It’s a hotel I would recommend to friends as well.

    This was my first time using this hotel to visit Ghibli Park! All the staff were very polite and made my stay pleasant. However, there were three disappointing points: 1. The hotel is close to a main road, so from around 9 PM to 11 PM, the noise from motorcycles and cars was quite loud... (I should have considered the location more carefully when making the reservation). 2. Around 1 AM on the second night, a phone on the bathroom wall suddenly rang loudly and woke me up... (Even when I picked up the receiver, it just made a beeping sound; after putting it back, an alarm-like sound went off again three times in total). 3. There was no basket or place in the bathroom to put clothes while taking a bath, so I had nowhere to place my change of clothes—having something like that would have been helpful. That said, my child really enjoyed borrowing picture books from the 6th floor and reading them in our room as well as having breakfast at the buffet. They said they’d love to stay here again! If we visit Nagoya again, I might consider staying here once more.

    I used Espacio. The Room was spacious, the bed was comfortable to sleep on, and the bathroom was pleasant. The weak water pressure in the shower was a drawback. I found the Espacio Lounge to have a nice atmosphere and be comfortable to spend time in. It would be great if the quality of afternoon sweets and breakfast could improve.

    The Best Hotel in Nagoya

    I often use this place because the food and drinks suit my taste perfectly, which might be why I think it's the best. Whenever I want to relax, staying here allows me to feel completely at ease. Spending quiet moments in a calm and peaceful atmosphere brings me happiness. While preferences may vary from person to person, I always choose this place when I seek such an experience. It's amazing how I find myself wanting to return even after some time has passed.

    We had a wonderful time.

    Followed Kikunosuke-kun to Misonoza and searched for nearby hotels. Attracted by the guide to a long-established hotel in Nagoya, I decided to stay there. Since it was a weekend in mid-October, there were glamorous weddings, yet the serene and solemn atmosphere allowed me to fully immerse myself and enjoy my stay! I think I'll choose this place again whenever I visit Nagoya.

    A Heritage to Preserve!

    The reception, lounge, and library for check-in (for guests staying on floors other than the Espacio Floor) are located on the 6th floor. Guests can enjoy juice, coffee, tea, and Nagoya-style snacks 24 hours a day. This idea and system are so excellent that it would be great if accommodations across the whole country adopted it. Some floors and guest rooms in this accommodation feature designs and color schemes reminiscent of pre-1990s Four Seasons or Ritz-Carlton interiors before they became large chains. While the immediate luxury may not match modern high-end hotels like Espacio Nagoya Castle, you can truly appreciate how much attention to detail was given to hotel room interiors in the 1990s through their meticulous craftsmanship. Even more impressive is the extensive use of ceramics on walls and floors in lobby areas and banquet halls. At first glance, it may appear understated; however, upon closer inspection, one cannot help but admire how much effort and expense went into creating such spaces—truly befitting a prestigious facility built with pride by Chubu's political and business leaders of that era. I am grateful to the current owner for preserving most of these original wall-and-floor designs without major renovations up until today. I sincerely hope they will continue to maintain them as is. Regarding dining: I enjoyed dinner at Le Chef’s buffet restaurant. Maintaining such quality at that price point with a standard buffet service style is remarkable! The next day at lunchtime, I purchased pastries from their adjacent bakery shop. They looked delicious but seemed like "short shelf-life" bread made without artificial additives—likely losing flavor quickly after purchase—but I bought them anyway out of curiosity. Although my busy schedule delayed me from eating them until late that night when they were still quite tasty! It made me think: "These must taste absolutely amazing when eaten fresh within their intended shelf life!" A friend gifted me matcha pound cake from this hotel as a souvenir item during my stay—a type often associated with mediocre "hotel-branded souvenirs." However...this one was exceptional! For my next visit to Meikan*, I look forward to dining at Salon Escoffier for its traditional French cuisine rooted in Meikan's legacy. (*Note: If referring specifically here by name/location.)

    This is not what I wanted...

    Nagoya Kanko Hotel, with its classical atmosphere and excellent staff service, is one of my favorites. This time, thanks to an IKYU special offer, I was upgraded to an Espacio Room. However, the Espacio Room gave the impression of being designed for inbound tourists, with the following issues: - The center of the Room is occupied by a washing machine and kitchen, making the living space narrow. - The U-shaped layout of the Room results in poor flow. - The toilet is located right next to the bed's pillow (this was the most unpleasant). Additionally, access to the club lounge, which seems to be a key feature of the Espacio floor, was not included (understandable since it was an upgrade). In hindsight, I would have preferred a standard Room. I feel bad for sharing such feedback despite their kind gesture, but it was a learning experience. That said, I was once again reminded of how wonderful Nagoya Kanko Hotel is, with its historic Rooms and well-trained staff. A great Hotel cannot be created by financial power alone. Thank you for your hospitality.

    I often choose this accommodation when visiting Nagoya and am always satisfied with its quiet and relaxing atmosphere. However, during my recent stays, there were a few concerns I would like to share. At check-in, there was no explanation about the membership status services, and unfortunately, no benefits were provided this time, which was quite disappointing... While I understand that the choice of guests cannot be controlled, it was unfortunate that some international guests staying on my floor had poor manners, making it difficult to relax in my room.     Experience an elegant hotel stay at a prestigious Hotel.

    This was my first time staying, and I found it to be a very prestigious Hotel, allowing me to enjoy an elegant stay. However, on a minor note, I noticed quite a bit of dust accumulated at the base of the room stand, which was slightly disappointing. Given that this is such a historic and luxurious Hotel, paying attention to these small details would make the experience even better.
