    We had a very satisfying stay.

    This time, we stayed on the club floor with lounge access. As the Hotel itself is an older property, you can’t help but notice its age in terms of Facilities; however, it has been properly renovated and very well maintained. The guest room was spacious with a great view, and we were able to enjoy a comfortable stay. As expected of a world-class luxury Hotel, the staff’s service was polished and professional, making our stay very pleasant. Regarding the lounge food sessions: the welcome afternoon tea and breakfast were high quality, as you would expect from a top-tier Hotel. However, I felt that the variety and quality of the hors d’oeuvres and drinks during cocktail time have been gradually declining little by little each time we stay compared to a few years ago—am I mistaken?

    Disappointed by the decline in Club Lounge service.

    Among hotels in Yokohama, I used to really like the InterContinental Club Lounge for its excellent offerings, but this time I was disappointed because various services have been discontinued. Above all, there was no pizza! I had been coming mainly to eat that, but this time there were only a few lukewarm hot items and a small selection of cold items cut into tiny pieces. In the morning as well, many of the menu options and desserts that used to be available were gone. The price was unchanged while the service declined, and the Room also felt quite dated... I don’t think I’ll be back.

    We stayed at the long-established InterContinental. Both the atmosphere and service were impeccable. We also thoroughly enjoyed the meals. As for the Facility, we could certainly feel its age, but that also made it reassuring. We would love to stay again—thank you very much.

    Yokohama Grand InterContinental Hotel

    I stayed one night at the Yokohama Grand InterContinental Hotel. My Room was No. 806. The view from the Room was excellent. It had been raining for days, but the weather was great on this day and the next, so it turned into a wonderful stay. Because the Room had such a great view, it felt very comfortable, and the desk suited me well and was easy to use. The mattress also felt just right. Thanks to IKYU, I think I was able to have a great experience. I’m truly glad because this stay felt meaningful to me. I would like to stay again. However, there was an unpleasant noise—either from a Facility or another Room—and I’m curious what it was. I look forward to staying again next time as well.

    The ultimate luxury—we enjoyed Yokohama in style!

    I finally stayed at the InterContinental Hotel, an innovative building shaped like a yacht’s sail that I’d wanted to visit for a long time. The warm welcome at the entrance and the kind service made me very happy. This time I chose a harbor-view Room on the 27th floor. Since I had lounge access, I enjoyed a light drink before heading out. The staff are young, but their hospitality and manners were excellent. If you want ocean views, I don’t think there’s any other choice besides this Hotel. It was a luxurious and truly special Hotel experience. The separate shower room and bathtub made my stay very comfortable. Next time, I’ll come again to enjoy the harbor view from a high floor! Thank you very much.

    The sunrise rises directly in front of the Room window—absolutely wonderful.

    We stayed in an ocean-view Room as a family of three. The Room was a good size, and the bed was very comfortable. The unit bath was also spacious. The Hotel was quiet throughout and felt upscale. The view faced the sea, and at night the lights of the Bay Bridge and yakatabune boats were calming. The next morning, a stunning orange sunrise rose directly in front of our window, with a sparkling orange line across the surface of the water. Next time, I’d like to stay on a fireworks day. Amazing!

    Disappointed after staying here again for the first time in a while...

    I requested a city-side Room because I wanted to see the Ferris wheel. However, the Room only had a side view of it, and I felt disappointed from the moment I entered. I didn’t realize there were Rooms like this. The person traveling with me wanted to see Yokohama’s night view, so I brought them along and it was disappointing. I could understand if I had made a last-minute Reservation, but I booked well in advance, and this was a Room with a 100% Cancellation Fee from one month before—so they knew for sure we would be staying. Bathrobes and sleepwear are not provided in the Room. That also surprised me. They will bring them if you request by phone, but they won’t unless you ask. Overall, it ended up being a disappointing trip.

    The fireworks were clearly visible from the Premium Harbor View room.

    I stayed here to enjoy the Yokohama Night Flowers (only about 5 minutes) from my Room. From a cool Room on the 20th floor, I was able to watch them straight ahead. When I opened the upper part of the window, I could also hear the fireworks, which made it feel very immersive. I arrived about 30 minutes earlier than planned, but I was able to check in right away. It was a hot and humid day, so it really helped to be able to go into a cool Room with air conditioning. The MIKIMOTO ladies’ amenities were nice. I reserved a Premium Harbor View Room, but unlike the photos on IKYU, there was no bed runner or cushions by the pillows, and it felt more like a Business Hotel-style Room. Also, perhaps because of the building’s age, the chairs in the first-floor lobby and the bathroom fixtures in my Room looked noticeably dated, and I was concerned about how stiff/rough the bath towels felt. At check-out, I asked about breakfast room service, but before receiving an answer I felt rushed by a trainee who told me to pay first (there was also an employee supervising them, but they only watched), which made me uncomfortable. On August 13, however, I did receive an apology letter.

    It was excellent!

    We stayed one night in a sea-view Room with Club Lounge access. The Room was comfortable, the lounge food was delicious, and all the staff were kind—everything was excellent. In the evening, we visited Karyu for Chinese cuisine; it was also very delicious and a wonderful restaurant. Highly recommended.

    The Room was spacious, and we were able to relax and enjoy our stay.

    The Room was spacious and relaxing, and the bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was also delicious. We left our luggage before check-in and explored Yokohama; by the time we checked in, our luggage had already been delivered to the Room. It was very convenient for staying in Minato Mirai.

    Mother-and-daughter trip

    I stayed here for the first time on a “staycation” with my daughter. We chose this Hotel for the ocean-view Room, the breakfast buffet, and the gym. Being just a 5-minute walk from the station was also a deciding factor. With such a wonderful view and seating by the window, we relaxed there morning, noon, and night, enjoying the sea, cruise ships, and the city lights of the surrounding buildings. It was great that everything was close—walking along the waterfront to Red Brick Warehouse or shopping at Landmark Plaza was easy. The gym isn’t large, but it has enough machines as well as dumbbells and a bench for solid strength training. I did wish it had a better view. After working out, I recommend doing some cardio along the waterfront. The breakfast buffet offered both Japanese and Western options, and the croissants were delicious. I also enjoyed customizing my rice porridge with different toppings. Since we stayed two nights, it was nice to enjoy the buffet twice. Overall, you can sense some age in places, but it’s very clean and doesn’t feel outdated. The only things that bothered me were noise from what seemed like an ice machine door closing (next door/above/in the hallway) and pillows that were too soft for my liking. Still, overall this is a Hotel I’d like to return to. I’d love to stay again for another staycation—thank you very much.

    The night view from the suite on the 25th floor was beautiful. Thank you for the complimentary bottle of sparkling wine as well; we enjoyed it while taking in the view. The Room was at the edge of a circular layout, which made it especially memorable. However, I was tired from waiting in line at check-in. Since about five Hotel staff were stationed at the counter, I felt check-in could have been faster if separate lines had been formed for each staff member.

    Club InterContinental

    We used the Club InterContinental and were able to relax and enjoy a full day. I had seen some comments saying the offerings had changed compared to before, so I was a little worried, but for us as first-time guests, the service was more than satisfying. We chose an ocean-view Room. The open view felt wonderful. We could also see Tokyo Tower and Tokyo Skytree in the distance. Everyone who assisted us was cheerful and kind, which made our stay very enjoyable.

    A Comfortable Getaway

    This was my first stay. The check-in staff were wonderful, and I was able to relax in a Room with a great location. The Room was very clean, the bed was extremely comfortable, and the in-room coffee was delicious. One small thing happened at breakfast where I wished there had been a bit more attentiveness. When coffee was served to the guests next to us, it seemed like both of us would have liked to be served as well. It was a minor matter, but since I really enjoyed the delicious breakfast and was otherwise very satisfied, it felt a little disappointing. If I have the opportunity, I would definitely like to stay again. Thank you very much.

    The disappointing pa...

    The disappointing part was that I had to say my name four times at the front desk. I understand it may have been hard to hear because I was wearing a mask, but the explanation sounded like it was being read from a script, which left me with a very poor first impression of the Hotel. The good points were that, since this is an IHG One Rewards property, I was able to communicate normally through my mask with the staff member at the desk next to the front desk and get Wi-Fi working. Also, the location is great, so I could enjoy a wonderful night view from my Room window. The Japanese breakfast was delicious (and the service there was also good).

    Wonderful

    We stayed in a ferris wheel–side Room on a high floor. The view was wonderful and we really enjoyed it, and the bedding was so comfortable that we slept very well. Our child was thrilled too, and we made great memories in Minato Mirai. The staff were pleasant and cheerful, always greeting us with smiles and starting conversations. There were many international guests, and I felt that thanks to the people at this Hotel, they will leave with an even better impression of Japan! I hope this Hotel continues to have the same welcoming atmosphere. The meals were excellent as well. We would love to stay again!

    An annual tradition

    We usually stay in a standard Room, but when our children are back home, my spouse and I use the Club Floor. Overall we are satisfied, but we were disappointed that the pizza at cocktail time is no longer available. It’s rare to find a club lounge with a pizza oven.

    Among the Hotels I have stayed at many times in Minato Mirai, this one offers the most relaxing view. I sit by the window and spend time simply enjoying the scenery. I was very satisfied to be placed on a high floor. This is a Hotel I would like to stay at again and again.

    We had a great time.

    My first time back in Yokohama in a while. I’d been wanting to stay here for some time, so I used a day off to stay one night. It was during the Yokohama Tanabata Festival, and we had a wonderful time enjoying the fireworks from the Hotel and attending an event at Pacifico right in front of us. The view from the Room was great, and the amenities were well chosen—especially ones women would appreciate. Since my birthday was coming up, I received a brownie at check-in, which made my daughter happy too. Thank you very much. We’d love to stay again as a family.

    When I open it, all the ratings are set to 5 stars even though I haven’t done anything.

    I have stayed here many times. I usually book a top-floor stay with lounge access and breakfast included. The Room often has cracks in the sink/shower area block. This time, there was what looked like the inner wrapper from a toothbrush under the sink, so I think a final cleaning check is important. The lounge is excellent. The food selection includes many set hors d’oeuvres, but everything tastes great, and there is a wide variety of drinks, which I really enjoy. The pizza available for an additional fee is delicious and recommended.

    Continental is the best!!

    Two trips to Yokohama every year. This time again, our stay on a high floor at the Continental Hotel was wonderful. Breakfast was great too—the selection of bread had increased, and I could see they’ve put a lot of thought into it. However, one young woman in the dining area didn’t smile and seemed very matter-of-fact. That hadn’t happened before, so it was disappointing. I really hope the staff can greet guests with a smile.

    I couldn’t sleep because it was too noisy.

    This is a classic Hotel that is over 35 years old, and the Facility uses fixtures from that time, so the plumbing does not feel pleasant. Seeing the toilet and rusted metal parts while bathing makes you not want to use it. The drainage was also poor, and the unit bath flooded while using the shower. Another issue is that it is an old building, and the carpet has been used for decades and is worn out and thin, so it provides no soundproofing. I couldn’t sleep because of the impact noise of several children running around in the adjacent Room. When I informed the Hotel, they said they were aware of the impact noise from children running but felt there was nothing else they could do, so after checking out I rebooked another Hotel and was able to sleep peacefully.

    A Long-Awaited Stay

    Since my previous stay, I felt that the lounge services themselves have been scaled back. I understand that this may be due to the times or the hotel’s policy, but it was still shocking to be forgotten even though I was in the lounge specifically to check in. Watching two or three groups who arrived after me complete their check-in made me realize it too late, but still.

    Since Tokyu had become ridiculously expensive, I had no choice but to stay here (Room 2505). I chose a slightly better Room, but it’s old: the enamel on the sink is peeling, the furnishings are outdated, some power outlets don’t work. The bathtub being spacious is nice. There were two flimsy pillows; I’d like one to be a firm pillow. When it rains, because it’s ocean-facing, the rain splashes against the window and the noise is quite bothersome. Even with light rain, being high up and by the sea makes it noisy at night—I woke up. The worst part is breakfast. It opens at 7:00, but there’s a huge line for the buffet on the 1st floor and you wait over 20 minutes to get in. Nadaman on the 4th floor doesn’t have as much of a line, but the staff move painfully slowly and it’s frustrating. Tokyu also has breakfast congestion issues, but I want this Hotel to take measures as well. For reference, I went to Nadaman two days in a row and the offerings were exactly the same—so you get tired of it. But I don’t want to wait 20 minutes on the 1st floor either. It used to be a wonderful Hotel long ago, but now it has become a Hotel I want to avoid as much as possible. I hope they renovate soon.

    The Room was on the 27th floor. We chose a city-view Room. The view was amazing, and bringing in an outside balloon decorator for a surprise for my girlfriend made her really happy. I’m glad we chose the Yokohama Continental Hotel. There are restaurants and Room service, so you won’t have any trouble with meals. Everything was clean, the shower and bath had plenty of hot water, and I had no issues using the shampoo and other amenities. What was inconvenient: When coming from the parking lot, it wasn’t clear where the front desk was. At check-in, we ended up waiting while holding a lot of luggage. It seems there is a service to carry luggage to the Room, but around 4:00 PM it would take about 20 minutes, so we gave up. The number to call the front desk from inside the Room was hard to find. Drinks in the in-room refrigerator are not free. Even if there were complimentary items, it was hard to tell which were which. The hair dryer wasn’t very powerful. As for the lounge snacks, compared with other Hotels I’ve stayed at and past Reviews, they felt a bit lacking. However, it wasn’t crowded and we could use it calmly. If you don’t expect too much service-wise, it’s an excellent Hotel with a great location.

    Thank you for a relaxing stay.

    Comfortable Rooms, wonderful views, delicious cuisine, and your warm hospitality—thank you always. This time there were a couple of minor misunderstandings, but the Guest Service Center staff responded quickly and excellently, which reassured me once again that this is a Hotel where I can stay with peace of mind. As always, it’s a truly happy moment when I’m greeted by name at the entrance. Right after returning home, I made my next Reservation—I’m sincerely looking forward to it.
