Four seasons, diverse local cuisines... To pursue "deliciousness," ingredients are crucial. Our head chef dedicates day and night to selecting and preparing ingredients. In addition to using local Mikawa ingredients and flavors, we carefully select the finest ingredients from The whole country to incorporate into our dishes.

Our Property is located on Mt. Mito, offering a panoramic view of the Mikawa area in Aichi Prefecture. The serene Japanese-style space and the seasonal scenery visible from the windows provide a calming experience. From the guest rooms, terrace, lobby, and rooftop, you can fully enjoy the ever-changing Mikawa landscape from morning to noon to night. From the windows, you can see Mikawa Bay, the distant Lagunasia, and on clear days, a breathtaking sunset sky and evening sun. While not flashy, the softly glowing streetlights, the illuminated Ferris wheel of Lagunasia, and the light trails of the Shinkansen unique to the Tokaido area create a quietly yet distinctly present natural screen that changes with the seasons and time. The proprietor of Donryu trained under the renowned manager, Mr. Sanji Mimura, known as the best in Japan, at the former Gamagori Hotel "Tokiwakan." In 1968, supported by the customers of the former Gamagori Hotel and Tokiwakan, he established the culinary Ryokan Donryu. Carrying on Mr. Mimura's teachings to this day, our motto is to practice hospitality filled with attentiveness and thoughtfulness. At the time of its opening, the focus was on mountain vegetable dishes and miso bandit hot pot. In particular, the rice eggplant with meat miso dengaku, generously using Hatcho miso, continues to be highly praised.
