A truly special suite with only two rooms, located on the 3rd floor of the Arist Building, about a 4-minute walk from JR Nara Station. Both suites offer a spacious 63 m² layout and feature an open-air hinoki cypress bath on the terrace. Enjoy a soak at any time, morning or night, while gazing out at a small courtyard garden with bamboo fencing, stone lanterns, and fresh green maple leaves. Nara Ryokan’s original herbal bath “Keigen-yu” gently envelops you in the soothing aroma of traditional botanicals, easing away travel fatigue. Inside, you’ll find two beds with Japanese-made mattresses, a double-sink vanity, and separate shower and toilet facilities. Drinks and snacks in the refrigerator are also complimentary. On the ground floor is “Shungyo,” a Chinese restaurant featured in the Michelin Guide Nara.

A 4-minute walk from JR Nara Station. On the first floor is the Michelin-listed Chinese restaurant “Shungyo”.

A 4-minute walk from JR Nara Station. The landmark is the Arist Building, one block off Omiya-dori Avenue; look for the building with the sign for the Chinese restaurant “Shungyo” on the 1st floor. With this close distance from the station, you can drop off your luggage and head straight out into town, or return to your Room in the evening for a relaxing soak before going out to dinner. Buses to Nara Park run frequently from in front of the station, making it easy to fit in an early-morning visit to Todai-ji Temple. It is about a 15-minute walk from Kintetsu Nara Station.

The open-air hinoki bath on the terrace is exclusively for guestroom use.

The hinoki cypress bathtub on the terrace is exclusively for this guest room. In the evening after you arrive, before bed, and on the morning of departure—whenever you feel like it, as many times as you wish. Sink in up to your shoulders while facing the small courtyard garden with its bamboo fence, stone lanterns, and maple trees, and you’ll forget you’re just a 4-minute walk from the station. At night, only the lantern light; in the morning, sunlight filtering through fresh green leaves. A separate shower booth is also provided apart from the tub, so you can wash before soaking—and rinse again afterward—another comfort made possible by this well-designed layout.

A fragrant evening with Nara Ryokan’s original herbal bath, “Keigento”

We offer Nara Ryokan’s original herbal bath, “Keigen-yu.” Made with a carefully selected blend of medicinal herbs, it releases a soothing herbal aroma that fills the bathroom as it dissolves into the water. At the end of a day of walking, sink into the bath and let the fragrance wash over you. Even after you step out, the scent lingers on your skin for a while. Please note that this is not a natural Onsen; it is an in-room open-air bath with hot water infused with our herbal bath blend.
