    The Onsen water quality is excellent, and you stay pleasantly warm long after your bath. The meals, including Yonezawa beef, were all delicious and very filling. The staff were kind and welcoming, making for a truly relaxing stay. I would love to stay here again when visiting Yonezawa.

  • We traveled to Fukus...

    We traveled to Fukushima and Yamagata to enjoy seasonal fruit, and stayed our first night at Kajikaso. As soon as we arrived in the parking lot, the staff warmly welcomed us.The Onsen has a faint sulfur scent, with clear water that feels wonderfully soothing. For dinner, when I told a staff member (male) that I had chosen shabu-shabu and steak from the “Selectable Beef Feast Set,” he suggested having the steak first if we planned to drink beer—thanks to his advice, we enjoyed our beer and sake at just the right pace. I usually don’t eat rice at dinner, but it was so good—each grain distinct—that I ended up getting a second serving with the shabu-shabu. The gyudon at breakfast was also delicious.We had car trouble, and even after checkout they kindly let us stay in the lobby for a while to make phone calls, which helped us tremendously. The proprietress came by out of concern as well, and everyone’s hospitality was very attentive—overall we had a comfortable and pleasant stay.

Our hot spring baths feature 100% free-flowing natural spring water. Enjoy its beautifying and moisturizing benefits, like a facial toner. We offer two large public baths with open-air baths: “Seseragi” and “Asamidori.” Bath access alternates between men and women depending on the time of day. For stays from Wednesday, April 1, 2026, the private bath will be available for a fee. Fee: JPY 2,000 per group Usage time: 40 minutes *Reservation required (available from 3:00 PM on the day of check-in on a first-come, first-served basis; please ask at the front desk)

  • Held on Sat, Oct 10! Yonezawa Sengoku Fireworks Festival

    Born in 2024 from the desire to “keep our local fireworks festival alive for children,” the Yonezawa Sengoku Fireworks Festival was launched with three youth economic organizations taking the lead. It is the world’s only entertainment-style fireworks festival featuring “Sengoku” (Warring States) in its name, and it is also Yonezawa City’s first fireworks event to offer paid seating.

    The venue has moved to Yonezawa Municipal Baseball Stadium (Minagawa Stadium), and the fireworks will be produced by Ikebun, a pyrotechnician with a top prize record at the Omagari National Fireworks Competition, including the Prime Minister’s Award.
    In addition, events such as “Yonezawa Meat Battle” and kids’ activities are planned, creating an unforgettable day that families can enjoy from daytime through evening.

    About 10 minutes from “Yonezawa-Kita IC” on the Tohoku-Chuo Expressway.
    Some surrounding roads will be restricted on the day of the event, and heavy traffic is expected. If you are coming by car, please use free parking areas such as those at Yonezawa City Hall (about a 30-minute walk to the venue), or nearby paid parking lots. This year, we will prepare a paid parking area with space for over 500 vehicles in front of the soccer field across from the municipal baseball stadium.

    What is Imoni?
    Imoni is said to date back as far as the mid-1600s.
    Around Nagasaki in Nakayama Town—once considered the final stop for river transport on the Mogami River—goods shipped from the Kansai region via Sakata were collected.
    At that time, there was no way to notify people when boats arrived, so boatmen sometimes had to wait for days until recipients came. To pass the time, they would gather around a pot on the riverbank and hold small feasts.
    Since nearby Koshio Village was known for taro, they are said to have simmered taro along with items from their cargo such as dried cod. This is considered the origin of today’s Imoni.
    It is also said that beef began to be used around the early Showa period.

    Imoni varies by region in both seasoning and ingredients. In particular, Shonai (the coastal area facing the Sea of Japan) has its own distinctive style: when inland Imoni customs spread to Shonai—an area known for pig farming—it is believed that pork became standard and miso-based seasoning took root as a flavor that pairs well with pork.
