Located just a 4-minute walk from JR Sapporo Station and directly connected to the underground walkway, "THE GATE HOTEL Sapporo by HULIC" is set to open in December 2025 as a hotel brand offering "genuine value" for adults. With a design concept that harmonizes the urban and natural beauty unique to Hokkaido, the Hotel features a wide range of guest rooms from "Essential" to "THE GATE," along with well-equipped facilities such as an all-day dining area. We provide a sophisticated stay where curious adults can experience the new charm of Sapporo.
Because it’s a new Hotel, I’d been looking forward to staying here and made a Reservation well in advance. The lobby lounge furnishings were lovely, and the Room amenities were well stocked. Breakfast was delicious; I chose the Japanese set, and it was very satisfying. The appetizers were buffet-style, and the honey bar was wonderful—everything was very tasty.The view from the Room faced construction, but it was amazing to be able to see Sapporo Station beyond the site. Once the building is completed, you may no longer be able to see Sapporo Station—so now might be your chance.
tresku 7/22/2026The Gate Hotel is our favorite, and we also stay at their properties in Tokyo and Yokohama. My husband looks forward to trying each Hotel’s limited breakfast, so when we decided on a trip to Sapporo, The Gate Hotel was our only choice. The Room was clean and easy to use, and the loan items were well stocked. The staff in Sapporo were especially warm and welcoming, and their careful email communication beforehand made us feel at ease about our stay. Breakfast was exactly what we hoped for—not only the main dish, but also the buffet selection felt like the most extensive we’ve had. We enjoyed sampling local flavors little by little, such as grilled vegetables, soup curry, and soft Katsugen. There was construction right in front of the Hotel, but we barely noticed any noise; if anything, it felt like a rare chance to watch a large construction site from above—an experience in itself. The package we asked the front desk to ship arrived safely today as well. Thank you very much.

Construction is currently underway in the Sapporo Station South Exit area as part of the “Kita 4 Nishi 3 District Type 1 Urban Redevelopment Project.” We would like to inform guests staying with us as follows.
This project is an urban redevelopment initiative to construct a large-scale mixed-use building integrating commercial facilities, offices, Accommodation, and parking at the Sapporo Station South Exit (Kita 4-jo Nishi 3-chome). A groundbreaking ceremony was held on March 3, 2025, and full-scale construction has begun. Completion is scheduled for around July 2028.
During the construction period, noise may be audible in some Rooms. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and kindly ask for your understanding and cooperation.
