"Nazuna Kyoto Higashi Honganji" is a friendly luxury Ryokan with seven rooms, revitalized from a historic Kyoto townhouse Ryokan with over 100 years of history, formerly known as "Onyado Niwa," and designed with the concept of a carpenter's craftsmanship worldview. Room names such as "Obiki-no-Ma" and "Taruki-no-Ma" are inspired by carpentry terms used in wooden architecture. Through your stay, you can experience Japan's traditional architectural techniques and the spirit of its craftsmen. The Property offers first-floor, second-floor, and maisonette-type rooms, each named after different wooden structures. The interiors and furniture are crafted using locally sourced wood, creating a comfortable space filled with the warmth and fragrance of wood.
Although we often visit Kyoto on day trips, we decided to stay overnight for a change and used this Hotel as a family. We checked in early and planned to sightsee around the Hotel, but it was so comfortable that we didn’t go out and instead relaxed in our Room. The building, made with locally sourced timber, had a wonderful atmosphere, and the Room Facility was new and very pleasant. All of the Hotel staff were extremely helpful. Personally, I found the welcome sweets especially delicious. If I have the chance, I would definitely like to stay again.
OOTot4 2/1/2026It was a sudden trip to Kyoto, but the accommodation and onsen were wonderful. The late-night soba and breakfast were so delicious that it made me feel truly happy. Additionally, all the staff were very kind, which warmed my heart. I would love to stay here again if I have the chance. Thank you so much for such a lovely time!

Nazuna Kyoto Tsubaki-dori
Located in the vicinity of Shijo Omiya, "Nazuna Kyoto Tsubaki Street" is a Ryokan with 23 rooms, created by renovating an approximately 1,400 square meter L-shaped alley lined with over 110-year-old machiya townhouses into a single Property. The reception building, which serves as the entrance, features a deep and traditional Kyoto-style design, functioning not only as a welcoming space for guests but also as a pathway connecting the outside world to the unique realm of "Tsubaki Street." Passing through the reception building, you will find a streetscape reminiscent of an old hanamachi (geisha district), secluded from the outside world. The stone-paved streets are illuminated by lanterns and placed andon lights as dusk falls, adding a touch of elegance to "Tsubaki Street."
Nazuna Kyoto Gosho
Near Kyoto Imperial Palace, the Ryokan "Nazuna Kyoto Gosho" themed around "Wagashi." Upon entering the Kyoto townhouse previously used as a lumber shop, you are greeted by a high-ceilinged lobby, a remnant of its wood storage past. From the lobby, passing through a Japanese garden showcasing the beauty of the four seasons, you arrive at a private bath converted from a warehouse. Relax and rejuvenate from your journey.

Nazuna Obi Castle Town Onsen
Our establishment is an Onsen Ryokan renovated from a main house (approximately 350 square meters) and a separate barn (approximately 45 square meters) located in the Obi castle town. All rooms feature private open-air Onsen baths and are decorated with interiors themed around Obi's characteristics such as "Murasaki," "Moss," and "Cedar."
