Nazuna Kyoto Tsubaki Street
Kyoto Prefecture/Shimogyo Ward, Kyoto CityA Ryokan featuring 23 renovated traditional townhouses lined along the alley, with an open-air bath in every room.
Located near Shijo-Omiya, “Nazuna Kyoto Tsubaki-dori” is a 23-room Ryokan created by renovating an L-shaped, approx. 1,400 m² alley lined with over 110-year-old machiya townhouses into a single Accommodation. The reception building at the entrance features a deep, distinctly Kyoto-style design, serving not only as the place to welcome guests but also as a small passageway connecting the outside world to the world of “Tsubaki-dori.” Beyond the reception building lies a streetscape reminiscent of an old hanamachi (geisha district), secluded from the outside. As dusk falls, lanterns and floor lanterns light up along the stone-paved street, and “Tsubaki-dori” takes on an elegant glow.
From the sophisticated design at the entrance to the Kyoto-style streets leading to the accommodation, everything lifted my spirits. Inside, it felt like a cozy home with its two-story structure, making it very relaxing. I stayed with a dinner and breakfast included plan. First, I enjoyed unlimited Kyoto sweets and drinks in the lounge, then indulged in a meat-lover's dream dinner. For a late-night snack, I had an egg sandwich, and in the morning, I savored a luxurious and hearty breakfast before leaving fully satisfied. I regret not arriving hungrier! The complimentary drinks provided in the room were all delicious—one night wasn't enough to enjoy them all. The staff's hospitality was exceptional, making this stay truly outstanding. I would love to stay here again if given another opportunity!
マメパト 1/28/2026We stayed here as a couple for our anniversary. The accommodation, lounge, and restaurant were all absolutely wonderful, making it an unforgettable two days. What stood out the most was how amazing all the staff members were. They were incredibly kind, attentive, and full of hospitality, allowing us to have such an enjoyable time. We would love to visit again on another special occasion. We are very much looking forward to seeing the wonderful staff again. Thank you for two fantastic days!
