Fufu Kyukaruizawa -Seiyo no Mori-
Nagano Prefecture/KaruizawaSunlight filtering through the trees, the scent of relaxation, a serene and free Karuizawa resort.
Kumoba Pond, a forest where you can feel Karuizawa’s four seasons. Quietly nestled on its shore, Fufu Kyu-Karuizawa Shiyou no Mori is a small luxury resort that evokes the Karuizawa villas once admired for their beautiful, modern architecture. With designs inspired by Kumoba Pond and its tree-lined paths, spaces that reflect Karuizawa’s Western culture and history, and a terrace where time drifts by beneath dappled sunlight, you can enjoy moments of true relaxation. In the natural Onsen prepared in every room, savor the luxury of bathing as many times as you like, whenever you wish. Please note that Fufu Karuizawa Yoko no Kaze is another “Fufu” with an entirely different concept. With different locations, guest rooms, dining, design, and Onsen experiences at each property, we invite you to explore both and enjoy a blissful resort stay in Karuizawa—a destination overflowing with charm beyond what any single place can contain.
This was my first stay at Fufu Karuizawa Shoyo no Mori.Last year, I stayed at Fufu Karuizawa Yoko no Kaze and was very satisfied, so this year I chose Shoyo no Mori. The property has a calm atmosphere, with a relaxing lobby lounge and courtyard. The Room was spacious, and the Onsen was wonderful. Both dinner and breakfast were delicious. I would definitely like to stay again.
上海アンクル 7/26/2026I’ve stayed at many Onsen Ryokan and Hotels, but the Japanese dinner and breakfast served here were unquestionably among the very best—truly top-tier quality. The location is also excellent, offering a wonderful setting where you can fully enjoy Karuizawa’s rich natural surroundings. The guest room had a great atmosphere, with beautifully refined decor down to the smallest details, creating a high-quality space where I could truly relax. Overall, it was a very satisfying stay; however, the only area with room for improvement was the quality and selection of drinks offered in the lounge, which felt slightly below the standard of the rest of the Accommodation. If this were enhanced, I believe the stay would be even more perfect. The meals and overall ambiance were outstanding, so I would definitely love to return.
