One group per day—private auberge in a traditional standalone building with a large public bath and sauna.

En is an exclusive one-group-per-day auberge located in Shigaraki, Shiga, Kansai. It was created through the "en" (connections) of those captivated by traditional Japanese architecture, built by master carpenters who carry on ancient construction techniques. The chef, Kazuo Ikuta, has pursued his culinary path for nearly 50 years, serving as the head chef at Kyoto Brighton Hotel and owner of Michelin one-star restaurant "Kyoto Okazaki Ikuta." With the philosophy of "never serving food without love," he dedicates himself to each guest. The Facility features unique experiences such as a dry landscape garden viewed from an irori room, a bath with a private garden, and a kura sauna. We hope this place becomes a cherished connection for all our guests.

Notice from the Accommodation

  • To celebrate our TV feature, we are now offering a special Plan.

Did you catch the recent episode of “Matsuko & Ariyoshi Karisome Tengoku”?
We were truly delighted that “Keyaki no Yado En” was featured on M-1 champions Takuro’s Shiga tour, and our entire team enjoyed watching it.

Let us introduce the charm of this hidden auberge in Shiga where the two of them spent such a wonderful time together.

“Keyaki no Yado En” is an exclusive-rental auberge, renovated from the residence of a distinguished local family.
A space crafted entirely from zelkova wood, where the beauty of traditional wooden architecture meets the comfort of modern design.
Our three pillars are: “beautiful wooden architecture” by master temple carpenters, a soothing “Japanese garden through all four seasons,” and “dining by a Michelin-starred chef.”

The much-talked-about “Kura Sauna,” which also made waves on the show, lets you add ice to the cold bath to adjust it to your preferred temperature, and features an open-air relaxation area for unwinding in total comfort.

For dinner, enjoy a blissful course finished right before your eyes—rich with seasonal flavors and local character.
In particular, our signature “Omi beef steak,” which Mr. Akagi called “the best in my life” and brought smiles to Matsuko and Ariyoshi in the studio as well, is carefully grilled over charcoal on an irori hearth.

To help you experience that TV moment for yourself, we have prepared a special Plan based on our standard “Kiwami” Plan, including an original craft beer for your toast.

[TV Broadcast Commemoration] Featured on “Karisome Tengoku”! Limited-time Plan with celebratory drink perk <1 night / 2 meals>
    Stay period: August 13, 2026 – January 3, 2027

Please come and stretch out in our luxurious space filled with privacy.

We sincerely look forward to welcoming you.
