  • A calm atmosphere

    From the Kyoto-style entrance to the lobby, the calm atmosphere and smiling staff make you feel warmly welcomed. I stayed on the 5th floor of this five-story Hotel. There is a large public bath, and the artificial carbonated water bath feels gentle and soothing for tiredness. For breakfast, you can choose one main dish from four options, with the rest served buffet-style. Every menu item was delicious, and the overall food quality was impressively high. I also received a souvenir voucher, which was a lovely gift. This Hotel is conveniently located near Hankyu Karasuma Station and Shijo Subway Station. Kyoto touches are thoughtfully incorporated throughout the Hotel. I think it’s a perfect base for sightseeing in Kyoto.

Mitsui Garden Hotel Kyoto Shinmachi Bettei is located on the site of the former "Kyoto Office and Textile Reference Museum of Matsuzakaya." The property faces Shinmachi Street, a charming area where floats line up during the Gion Festival. The exterior design incorporates a setback for floors above the third level to harmonize with the streetscape, while preserving and utilizing a traditional storehouse facing Shinmachi Street. Additionally, elements such as paving stones and beams from the old building are repurposed in the interior design.

    Thank you very much for your continued patronage of Mitsui Garden Hotel Kyoto Shinmachi Bettei.

    Due to a scheduled power outage required for inspection and maintenance of electrical equipment in accordance with applicable laws and regulations, the Hotel will be closed on the date listed below.
    On the closure date, you will not be able to stay overnight or use any in-house Facility (including the restaurant).
    We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause to guests planning or considering a stay, and we kindly ask for your understanding as this is necessary to ensure safe operations.

    * Operations will end after check-out of guests staying the previous day. The Hotel will then remain closed all day while the power outage work is carried out.
