Utsukushigahara Onsen is a historic hot spring area that has been loved since the Edo period; it was once home to “Goten-no-Yu,” a villa built by the lord of Matsumoto Castle for relaxation. At our Hotel, you can enjoy five types of baths: an open-air bath, private baths, a large public bath, a jacuzzi, and a footbath. For guests who have traveled all the way to Utsukushigahara Onsen, we prepare our cuisine with care—creative Japanese kaiseki featuring seasonal Shinshu ingredients and special kaiseki using Shinshu’s signature branded ingredients.   • This was the most impressive experience I’ve had in a long time!

    Both the entrance and our Room were spotless, the meals (and sweets) were delicious, the Onsen was wonderfully relaxing, and all of the staff were incredibly warm and welcoming—we were truly impressed. At the dining venue, there was plenty of space between each group, so our child was able to focus quietly on eating. Also, we really appreciated that you provided activities inside the Hotel such as a puzzle-solving game (the adults got seriously into it too!) and a cardboard maze. When we checked our answers for the puzzle game, the front desk staff assisted us so kindly and thoroughly, which made our child very happy. I don’t usually post a Review, but I was so moved that I wanted to share this one. We travel to Matsumoto every summer, so we’d love to stay with you again next year. Thank you very much.

  • Very good.

    The hospitality was excellent. There was a welcome drink, and at check-in they kindly took care of my luggage first, so I could relax and enjoy it. The foot bath was great as well, and everyone—from the shop staff to the cleaning team—was wonderful, which helped me truly unwind. The meals were also very good. The portions were a bit large for me, but everything was delicious and I ended up eating too much. Breakfast buffet was great too, with partitions on the tables.The only thing I wished for was a hair tie among the amenities; other than that, everything was truly wonderful.

About Hygiene Measures
• To protect the health and safety of our guests and staff, in line with recommendations from Nagano Prefecture, employees in all guest service areas, the kitchen, and housekeeping (including guest rooms) wear masks while assisting guests. • We take the temperature of all guests. We will also verify your identity. • By law, all guests are required to complete a guest registration form. In addition, for overseas guests we will take a copy of your passport. • For guests with symptoms such as fever, cough, or cold-like symptoms, we have a system in place to contact and respond in coordination with the public health center and consultation services. • If you have a fever of 37.5°C or higher or symptoms such as fatigue, we may ask you to postpone your stay. • We do not impose any specific restrictions on accepting guests based on their place of residence. • Pump-type alcohol hand sanitizer is available throughout the building. • In shared areas such as the public bath and dining spaces, we set limits on capacity and usage time to help prevent crowding (the “Three Cs”).
