A gentle, wonderful Ryokan that warms both body and soul. No matter how many times we stay, the cuisine is delicious and beautifully presented, like a story—each time bringing a smile to my face with pure happiness. The proprietress keeps everything meticulously clean, and I also love the Onsen with its distinctive sulfur scent. Although we had an unexpected issue this time, all the staff responded with genuine care, reminding me once again of what makes this Ryokan so special. My parents, whom I brought for the first time, loved it as well, so we will be back in another season. Thank you for such a happy time.

We visited this Accommodation for the first time in March after it received the strongest “Absolutely!” recommendation among several options, and it was the first time in a while that we felt completely satisfied in every respect. From the courteous and accurate communication during the Reservation process, to the atmosphere, use of space, staff professionalism, and cuisine—everything met our expectations. With an Accommodation of this caliber, I wasn’t particularly worried about the food, and I had already seen photos of the interior on the website so I assumed there would be no surprises. In the end, however, what matters most is “people.” With group stays, requests often cause inconvenience and there are usually one or two small oversights on the day—but here everything was perfect. This time we came as individuals. We returned both to confirm our impressions and to be moved all over again. The entrance—still fresh in my memory as a favorite—is spacious and quiet. It harmoniously blends cutting-edge design with traditional charm despite being complete opposites. Personally, it may be my favorite part. Our Room this time was more compact than last time but more than sufficient for one night. The open-air bath is also spacious and easy to use even though it has privacy screening. The private dining room felt almost too large for just two people. The timing of each course and the staff’s warm smiles made for a truly comfortable—and delicious—meal. Overall, what stayed with me is how rare this Facility is: an excellent balance of new and old, genuine warmth from people, and employees who approach their work with sincerity—all coming together in perfect harmony. Newer Accommodations with a full resort feel are wonderful in their own way as well; however, as an Onsen Accommodation, this is a place I can confidently recommend as a distinctly Japanese stay where timeless tradition is beautifully integrated. We stayed here to celebrate our anniversary, and everything was exceptional. Being able to soak in the wonderful Onsen at any time, surrounded by the soothing scent of hinoki cypress, was pure bliss. The meals were outstanding—especially breakfast. We were truly impressed by the carefully prepared dishes made with delicious dashi, and ended up eating far more rice than usual. Every staff member was kind and attentive with just the right sense of distance, allowing us to relax throughout our stay. We would love to return again. We stayed with our baby, and it was such a wonderful Accommodation that we’d love to visit again even as adults only. The chic, calming interior was beautiful, and you could feel the attention to detail in every piece of furniture, appliance, and decor. The Room had adorable children’s chairs and slippers, a yoga mat, DVD rentals, a star chart, and more. The space itself was so comfortable that simply spending time at the Accommodation felt truly restorative. At the front desk there was a complimentary drink service including alcohol such as beer and sake, as well as delicious decaf coffee that pregnant guests and breastfeeding moms can enjoy. On top of that, all drinks and snacks in the in-Room refrigerator were also free—such a thoughtful touch that made us feel genuinely cared for. The private open-air bath attached to the Room was a solid rock-built bath with an impressive presence; soaking slowly while surrounded by nature was incredibly relaxing. Most memorable of all was the view from the Room: refreshing mountains stretching out before us, with Sagami Bay visible beyond. Just staying in the Room while gazing out the window felt luxurious—we lost track of time and truly unwound. Each dish showed great care and craftsmanship; everything was delicious and we were completely satisfied. Although we stayed with a child, thanks to the warm hospitality of all the staff we were able to spend our time very comfortably.

From the moment we boarded the elevator to the Ryokan from in front of Sounzan Station, it was an exciting experience. The Accommodation and all the staff welcomed us with a warm atmosphere, and everything—the Room, the carefully prepared meals, the Onsen, and the views—was wonderfully soothing. We were able to spend a slow, quiet, luxurious time. Thank you very much.
