APA Hotel Ishigakijima

Now that we’re done raising our children, five friends and I take a girls’ trip every year, and we often stay at APA Hotels. The lobby staff are kind, and at the APA Hotel in Ishigaki Island we were able to enjoy 24-hour complimentary drinks and soft-serve ice cream, which made for a very comfortable stay. However, an elderly woman overseeing the breakfast area repeatedly told us to put the tables back and clear the dishes before even waiting to see if we would do so, which was very unpleasant.

APA Hotel is consistently reliable, clean, bright, and fully equipped with amenities. This location is no exception and is wonderful. However, the unit bath has a strong unpleasant odor, resembling sewage. This seems to be a structural issue, likely due to a problem with the double trap in the sewage pipes, causing water not to accumulate and allowing odors from the main sewage pipe to rise. I believe the Hotel staff are aware of this odor issue. This is because both the bathtub and sink were securely plugged to prevent the smell from coming up. I am not sure if this is the case in all rooms, but as a Hotel carrying the APA Hotel brand, I think this issue should be properly addressed, even if it incurs costs. It is disappointing, especially since everything else is perfect.
