    This is the third time this year.

    I stay at this accommodation every year for two nights, but this year I visited in April, May, and November. Staying in the "Miyabi" room has made my visits even more enjoyable. Since the weekend accommodation plan for the "Miyabi" room seems to require at least three people, my husband and I took time off on weekdays to visit this time. The room was thoroughly cleaned, and the private open-air bath was beautiful; we enjoyed relaxing and soaking multiple times. The desserts at the dinner buffet are perfectly sized and absolutely delicious every time—something I always look forward to. Of course, the meals are also excellent. The spa's aroma massage was so soothing that I fell asleep without realizing it. As soon as I return home, I start thinking about when to visit next—it’s truly my favorite hotel!

    The buffet is delicious.

    It was my first time staying, and I really enjoyed the buffet. I had seconds of the freshly grilled steak. The game corner wasn't very noticeable but was still fun. It might be worth promoting it a bit more. The relaxation massage was also great. I would love to stay again!

    Three-Generation Travel

    We stayed for one night from October 18th to 19th to celebrate my mother's 70th birthday. The room, "Kofuji," was very spacious! Despite being a group of nine, we never had to wait from check-in to check-out and had a very comfortable stay. The room came with an open-air bath and balcony, which made both adults and children excited! The amenities included ReFa products, which delighted the women in our group. Almost everything you need is provided (no need to bring basic skincare products). The large public Onsen was spacious and not crowded at all. My niece and I enjoyed it at night, in the morning, and even visited Yunonosato—completing our Onsen experience! The public bath also had well-stocked amenities as well as massage chairs that allowed us to relax even more. Dinner was a kaiseki meal served in a banquet hall due to our large group size. The staff member who attended us had such a lovely smile even behind their mask. Thank you for accommodating food allergies so carefully! While we were curious about the buffet option for dinner, everyone absolutely loved the kaiseki meal—it was so delicious that we finished every bite! One small suggestion: it would have been nice if white rice could be served earlier (the kids wanted it with their steak), and fried dishes came quite late into the meal—though perhaps we were eating too quickly because everything tasted so good! Breakfast was buffet-style starting at 7 AM when we arrived right as it opened. It was incredibly delicious too! With Japanese dishes, Western options, desserts, coffee—you name it—I ended up going back three times for seconds despite being full from dinner the night before! Both adults and children were thoroughly satisfied. When I went to settle payment at 8:30 AM before checking out, they surprised my mother with a birthday gift and letter! Although I hadn’t mentioned her birthday beforehand, they must have overheard during mealtime conversations—they prepared this surprise just for her. This thoughtful gesture moved us deeply; it's clear they truly care about their guests. From start to finish, everything exceeded expectations—we all felt comfortable throughout our stay—and most importantly my mother enjoyed herself immensely on this trip. It became such a wonderful memory with her that everyone wished we could extend another night! I’d love to bring my mother here again someday. Thank you so much!

    Onsen Trip with Children

    We were initially worried about traveling with our 1-year-2-month-old baby for the first time, but the hotel provided everything we needed, including a full set of bath supplies, diaper disposal services, baby chairs (reclining type) for the buffet, and non-alcoholic wet wipes. It made our stay very comfortable. The buffet offered a wide variety of delicious dishes and was absolutely fantastic. Although we couldn't use the footbath due to renovations, we enjoyed various types of baths at nearby facilities and had a wonderful time relaxing in an Onsen after so long. Since I wasn't confident about taking my baby to the Onsen alone, we booked a private family bath where my husband, child, and I could bathe together comfortably.

    The facility is old...

    We stayed in a relatively spacious Japanese-Western style room. Upon entering, we immediately thought, "Wow, it's so worn out..." Overall, the facility was old and there was a noticeable gap compared to the photos on the site. The pathway to the detached Yunosato area was overgrown with weeds and covered in rust. The meals were buffet-style, and we were very satisfied with the variety and quality. The staff were well-trained and provided excellent service. However, there were many foreign guests, so it was difficult to fully enjoy a serene Japanese atmosphere.

    Stayed in a room wit...

    Stayed in a room with an open-air onsen. The onsen had excellent water and was very relaxing, but it was disappointing that there was no changing area. Dinner was a buffet, but there were no salad options, and the steak was just bite-sized pieces on a plate with little volume, which was disappointing.

    Private Onsen in Your Room!

    We chose this place for a trip with my father, who has some difficulty walking, as the Room's bath is also an Onsen. The spacious bathtub, beautifully renovated Room, and high-quality selected amenities made our stay very satisfying. The dinner and breakfast buffets offered a wide variety of dishes, including handmade specialties, which were delicious. The price was reasonable, so we would love to visit again!

    A Wonderful Vacation

    The Room was incredibly spacious, and the private open-air bath and amenities were absolutely wonderful! Even in the rain, you can enjoy the bath without getting wet, and the sound of rain is amazing! I visited with my 7-year-old son, and the buffet offered a wide variety including sushi, crab, steak, etc., which is perfect for families with children. It was so relaxing that I want to visit again and again! Thank you very much!

    Beyond expectations...

    The reviews were very high, so my expectations might have been too great. The room and meals were neither particularly good nor bad, to be honest. However, considering the price for Hakone, it seems reasonable. The room was not as spacious as I expected, and the air conditioning was an old dial-type system that was hard to adjust. As for the dinner and breakfast buffet, I enjoyed the live kitchen steak and crab dishes; however, other side dishes had bland flavors or nothing particularly delicious stood out. Unfortunately (and I apologize), there were some items that tasted bad enough that I couldn't finish them (most of the fish cake-based items were disappointing). That said, the open-air bath at Yunonosato in the annex building was excellent! There were several types available where I could relax and fully enjoy the onsen experience (the indoor bath in the main building had water that was too hot for me to stay long). I wish the food had been a bit more satisfying...

    The price is so low compared to the satisfaction level that it feels unbelievable.

    Stayed in a room with an indoor bath (no view) under a breakfast-included plan, and everything—room, service, onsen, and meals—was perfect beyond expectations. I can't understand why it's offered at this price. The exceptional hospitality of the front desk staff was the main reason for such a pleasant stay. I will definitely visit again!

    Absolutely fantastic

    If you want to choose your dinner or breakfast time, we recommend arriving early! I checked in a bit late and had dinner starting at 5:30 PM, but I was still completely satisfied! It was amazing!

    This was my first time staying here. The Room was clean, and the buffet had a wide variety of dishes, which was very satisfying. I was amazed by how spacious the large public bath was. I will definitely stay here again.

    Perfect for families with children.

    A trip with Grandpa, Grandma, and the grandchild. The pool had just the right depth and size for kids to play, there was table tennis available even in the morning, and a buffet where you could choose your favorite dishes—so many fun activities from a child's perspective that our grandchild was thrilled. The slope to the hot spring area and pool seemed a bit tough for Grandpa though. Our grandchild tripped on the stairs at the large bath and scraped their back, but when we asked at the front desk, they quickly brought ointment and bandages to help us out. Thankfully it wasn’t a serious injury, so we enjoyed more time at the pool even after check-out. We also forgot our phone charger but were relieved as they provided one for us to borrow. Initially, we planned to visit Yunessun Water Park but ended up playing multiple times in Hotel’s pool or table tennis instead. We also played cards in our Room and relaxed—it was perfect! Our grandchild said they’d love to come back next time with Mom and Dad for more table tennis fun. Thank you for creating such wonderful summer memories!

    We used it for a family trip.

    We visited from Hokkaido for a family trip. Both dinner and breakfast were buffet-style with a wide variety of dishes, including many delicious desserts. Since it was my daughter's birthday, we made a surprise cake reservation, which made her very happy and satisfied. We also used the day-use bath in the annex building, and the waterfall bath was very relaxing. Of course, the baths inside the hotel were spacious and clean, and the massage chairs after bathing helped relieve our travel fatigue. We would love to stay again. Thank you!

    A lovely room with a spacious Onsen open-air bath

    We first stayed here on May 30 to celebrate my husband's 77th birthday. The accommodation was exceptional, with a very clean and spacious onsen open-air bath attached to the room, wide beds, a ReFa hair dryer, and a well-stocked selection of warm and cold drinks along with tea snacks. It was truly a luxurious room that my husband loved so much we stayed again in July. Both breakfast and dinner are not buffet-style, which is especially appreciated by older guests. This time, we checked in late, so dinner started at 7:30 PM and breakfast at 8:30 AM. If we had checked in earlier around 6:30 PM, it would have been more relaxed; we'll keep this in mind for next time. We enjoyed Japanese cuisine featuring grilled wagyu beef served in a private dining room. Every dish was delicious. Breakfast was also served as Japanese cuisine in the same private room with an abundance of side dishes that made us feel truly happy. A foreign female staff member attended to us during our meals; she was well-trained, spoke beautiful Japanese with a smile, and provided kind and attentive service. We were so impressed that we've already booked the same room under the same plan for my birthday celebration this September. In the past, we used other hotels in Hakone-Yumoto for special occasions but now plan to celebrate anniversaries here together from now on. This is such an exceptional hotel!

    It was an enjoyable trip that met all my expectations. The staff's excellent service made my stay very pleasant. If there was one downside, it would be that the live kitchen at the buffet had quite a lot of pre-cooked steak and tempura. I will definitely visit again!

    The staff's hospital...

    The staff's hospitality, meals, room, and Onsen were all beyond expectations and wonderful. I thoroughly enjoyed my one-night stay to the point where I felt reluctant to leave. I was able to create lovely memories. Thank you very much!

    Celebrating 90th Birthday

    A wheelchair was available for my 86-year-old mother with mobility issues, and when we requested a cake for her 90th birthday, we also received a purple outfit and a gift, creating wonderful memories. The Room's open-air bath was comfortable. The food was delicious as well. Thank you very much!

    Moderately satisfying

    This was my second visit. The first time, I stayed with three generations of family. We stayed in a room with multiple rooms and were able to relax comfortably even with three generations. The second time, I stayed with my immediate family. Although the accommodation felt a bit old and the door noise was noticeable, it wasn't a major issue. If you're concerned, you can choose a nicer room, so it's good that you have options to select from. Since there are various types of rooms available, I might try a different one next time!

    The Hotel is excellent, the bath is amazing... but

    The room was spacious, and the bath had a great atmosphere. However, there were many international guests, and some entered the open-air bath wearing underwear, brought mobile phones into the bathing area, or skipped rinsing before entering the bath—almost everyone did these things. Some even started washing their bodies inside the open-air bath, which was unpleasant to witness. The facility and staff were excellent, so I decided to leave this review in hopes that something can be done about it. While there were some notices posted as reminders, from a Japanese perspective... it felt a bit uncomfortable.

    It became a wonderful travel memory.

    This time, I wanted to relax in an Onsen during my vacation and found a good Room and Plan at this Ryokan, so I made a Reservation. On the day of arrival, we headed there after sightseeing near Yumoto Station and arrived earlier than our scheduled time, but we were warmly welcomed with excellent service, leaving a very positive impression. The Room we were guided to was very clean, with a wonderful view from the window. We thoroughly enjoyed the private open-air bath attached to the Room. We chose a buffet Plan for meals, which offered a wide variety of dishes. Both dinner and breakfast were so enjoyable that my spouse and I ended up eating too much! (laughs) The staff provided attentive care and cheerful greetings that made us feel comfortable throughout our stay, allowing us to have an excellent vacation experience. If I had to point out one minor issue, it would be that the entrance door of our Room was not well-fitted; it was difficult for my wife to open at times. If there's an opportunity for repair in the future, it would make the stay even more comfortable. However overall, it was such a clean Ryokan with no complaints whatsoever! I would love to stay here again if given another opportunity!

    We stayed at "Kofuji" with my spouse, mother-in-law, and her brother. The room was very spacious, and since the bedroom was separate from the living area, my mother-in-law and her brother, who were meeting for the first time in 10 years, could talk freely without worrying about us. We also enjoyed a comfortable stay without being disturbed by noise. The private open-air Onsen attached to the room had curtains for privacy so it couldn't be seen from outside. This allowed my husband, who isn't fond of public baths, and my mother-in-law, who isn't confident in her physical strength, to enjoy the Onsen both at night and in the morning comfortably. For meals, we requested Japanese Kaiseki cuisine for both dinner and breakfast. There were many dishes served; everything was incredibly delicious! Even though my mother-in-law and I said we were full halfway through, we ended up eating everything! Thank you so much! However, there were a couple of downsides: accessing the large public bath within the Hotel required climbing 20–30 steps of stairs; while there is an elevator going up to reach another building's large bathhouse annexed to it on return one must descend stairs which can be challenging if someone has mobility issues or weak legs/feet. Additionally staff members near reception/front entrance seemed less welcoming lacking smiles/greetings making interaction difficult creating approachable atmosphere would enhance experience greatly! Despite these minor drawbacks overall trip turned out fulfilling thank-you again

    The IKYU reservation...

    The IKYU reservation benefits included a gift from the Hotel in the Room, such as bath additives, cosmetics, sweat wipes, and facial cleansing pouches. The inclusion of cosmetics and sweat wipes was surprising. Since it was a hot day, I immediately used the sweat wipes. Although there was some distance to walk to the Onsen Facility in the annex that accommodates children who are not yet potty-trained, both the changing room and bath were spacious and very pleasant. The meals offered a variety of dishes suitable for small children as well as desserts that adults would enjoy. The dining experience was my favorite part of the stay. The guest Room was Japanese-style; while it felt slightly old-fashioned, it was well-cleaned and comfortable. If I were to suggest improvements: - The post-bath relaxation area near the footbath space felt very hot; I wanted to rest there after bathing but returned to my Room quickly due to insufficient air conditioning in that area. - I had been looking forward to visiting the game corner; however, its location—far from both the large public bath and dining area at the back of reception on the first floor—made going back and forth difficult, so I gave up on visiting. Even with these two points for improvement noted, everything else about my stay was excellent—I would love to visit again!

    Mother-Daughter Trip

    I chose a room with an Onsen open-air bath because it was more convenient for traveling with my elderly mother than going back and forth to the public bath. As a result, we didn’t use the public bath at all and fully enjoyed the Onsen open-air bath in our room. It was easy to access, private, and absolutely perfect. The Facility in this room plan was excellent, featuring ReFa hair dryers, hair irons, showerheads, and shampoo treatments—all of which were fantastic! The meals were not very impressive, so next time I might choose a plan without meals. Since my mother is elderly and doesn’t have a big appetite, a no-meal plan seems sufficient for us. For families though, I think the buffet would be enjoyable. The shuttle bus was small (probably due to narrow roads), and it got very crowded on the way back. Since it's not a free shuttle service, increasing the number of buses would be appreciated!

    Hakone Trip for 3 Families

    We stayed with three generations, a total of seven people including my elderly parents! The Reservation was for two standard Rooms, but we were provided with three Rooms, which had two toilets and sinks, making it very convenient. Additionally, since my parents have mobility issues, the consideration of providing a Room near the entrance parking lot and elevator was extremely helpful. Thanks to the IKYU Reservation benefits, we could borrow women's yukata for free and received Korean cosmetics like Rom&nd lipsticks and eyeshadows as gifts—it was such a great deal. It became a wonderful memory. Thank you so much!

    Recommended Hotel

    It was my first trip to Hakone. I carefully researched which Ryokan to stay at and finally chose Okada-san. It was an absolutely wonderful Ryokan! The onsen water was very gentle on the skin, the meals were delicious with a wide variety, and there were plenty of desserts as well. The room was standard, but I had no complaints and spent my time comfortably. There were plenty of amenities provided, and I could even choose a yukata, which made me feel very welcomed as a woman. Thank you for accommodating our table tennis reservation so flexibly. Although it’s quite far and I can’t visit often, I definitely want to come back again. And I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Hakone! Thank you very much!
