Very satisfied!
I stayed at Hotel Okada for the first time, which I had been interested in for a while. The view from the Room was wonderful, and I was able to relax and unwind in the private open-air bath. I was also happy that I could freely enjoy the drinks in the Room’s refrigerator. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

It was a bit disappointing.
I returned because I was very satisfied with my stay last summer, but this time there were a few disappointing points. When I entered the Room, it smelled strongly of cigarette smoke and the odor did not go away even with an air purifier. There were also some mistakes on the Hotel’s side, so they changed my Room. The new Room was an upgraded one and it was comfortable. The towels were high quality and the amenities were plentiful. However, another issue came up: the safe didn’t work. It was fixed once, but when I tried to open it the next day there was no response again, so it seems the previous repair wasn’t done properly. Staff had to come in and out many times, which made it hard to relax. It was also inconvenient that there was no refrigerator in the Room—only a cooler box of some kind—so beer that had been chilled became lukewarm. Most disappointing of all was that last year’s dinner had delicious crab, which was my main reason for returning, but it wasn’t available this time and I was shocked. I appreciate that drinks are now all-you-can-drink, but I felt the overall food quality had declined. The Onsen at Okada no Sato is excellent, but the slope is tough for elderly guests.

A very satisfying stay with an excellent Onsen
For a Room in Hakone with a private Onsen, the price was relatively reasonable, and I felt it offered great value for money. The Facility as a whole shows its age, but it was well cleaned and comfortable to stay in. The in-room Onsen had excellent water quality and left my skin feeling smooth, so I used it many times during my stay. The large public bath was also spacious and open, though the water temperature was a bit hot for me. Meals were satisfying overall: kaiseki dinner and a breakfast buffet. On the other hand, the corridors felt somewhat dated and the lighting was dim, which gave a slightly lonely impression. The door key was heavy and bulky, making it inconvenient to carry around. Soundproofing also didn’t seem very strong—I could hear people walking and talking in the hallway from inside my Room. Even so, despite those points, I was very satisfied with this Accommodation as an affordable place to enjoy a private Onsen in Hakone, and I would like to stay here again when visiting Hakone.

We stayed here on ou...
We stayed here on our first trip to Hakone with two children. We chose it because the price was reasonable and the Reviews were good. The meals were buffet-style, so honestly I didn’t expect much, but I was very satisfied with the quality, variety, and taste. We added the all-you-can-drink plan, and there was not only beer but also plenty of wine, sake, sours, and more—perfect for anyone who enjoys alcohol! We also enjoyed a wide variety of baths in a separate building. The building itself may be old, but it was kept very clean and we had a comfortable stay. I’d like to stay here again when we visit Hakone!

Reliable and secure
Although I did not use the large public bath, the bath in the Room was also very nice, and it is an Accommodation I would like to stay at again.

A well-balanced, great Hotel
The four of us—mother and daughter, aunt, and cousin—stayed in a Room with an open-air bath. The garden view from the Room was wonderful, and we were soothed by seeing many birds that are rarely found in the city. The Onsen offerings were excellent: in-room open-air bath, the large public bath, plus a footbath and a Facility called “Yunosato,” so we truly enjoyed Onsen to the fullest. The water quality was great and left our skin silky smooth. We were also delighted that the hair dryer, iron, shampoo, and more were all ReFa products. All staff members were courteous, and we felt comfortable throughout our stay. We also appreciated the 11:00 check-out time—it allowed us to enjoy one more Onsen after breakfast and make the most of our stay until the very end.

Thank you very much ...
Thank you very much for your hospitality. All of the selectable yukata had beautiful patterns—I couldn’t decide. The haori was easy to wear, and the colors were lovely as well. We stayed in a Japanese-Western style room with beds, and the front desk kindly asked whether we would like futons laid out, so we requested them. Thanks to that, we were able to relax in a spacious room. The meals were lively both morning and evening, and we thoroughly enjoyed the dishes from the tea fair—everything was so delicious that there never seemed to be enough time (haha). I almost missed out because I didn’t notice the live kitchen at first. The financier served for dessert was outstanding; along with the canelé, it was truly delicious—like a separate dessert stomach!! We also fully enjoyed the Onsen and the massage chairs.

The perfect balance of comfort and relaxation
This time, we stayed in a Room with a private Onsen bath. The bath was filled with the soothing scent of hinoki cypress, and the view from the window was beautiful, allowing us to relax both body and mind. The dinner and breakfast buffet featured seasonal ingredients and a wide variety of dishes; we couldn’t try everything, but everything we did taste was delicious and kept us excited throughout. The staff’s hospitality was also excellent. This is a Hotel we would love to visit again.

The Room was great!
The view from the Room bath was amazing, but the best part was relaxing on the terrace while listening to the river and birds. It was a Room I didn’t want to leave, and I’d love to come back again. The in-house slippers seemed sized for men and were too large for women, making it difficult to walk up and down the slope to Yunozato.

This is an old Hotel.\nThe Facility and the large public bath are not unhygienic, but they are dirty.\nThe buffet meals are well prepared, but I would like to see a wider variety of dishes.

It was very good.
I had a comfortable stay. Since you need to use the stairs to get to the large public bath, I feel it may be difficult for elderly guests to access in the future.

Both the property and the Room were spacious and comfortable, allowing me to relax in peace.
My family saw it featured on TV during Golden Week and wanted to go, so we decided to visit on short notice. Unfortunately, it rained both days (especially the second day, with torrential rain...), so we couldn’t step outside at all. Still, both the Room and the building were spacious and relaxing, and we were able to focus on resting in peace. As we’ve gotten older, we tend to avoid buffets because we can’t eat large amounts, but this time there was a live kitchen and we enjoyed freshly grilled and freshly fried dishes. The alcohol being free was unusual as well. The peperoncino was delicious—we both ended up devouring it. The bathing area was also spacious and great. Because of the heavy rain, we couldn’t go to the annex building, which was disappointing. The footbath looked stylish and seemed like it would have a great view too, but again we couldn’t enter due to the downpour. Our Room was Western-style; it was spacious, and the placement and brightness of the lights were excellent—bright when awake, then comfortably dim at bedtime—so I fell asleep easily. Many Western-style rooms tend to be quite dark, so I really appreciated this. We couldn’t go anywhere because of the weather, but the souvenir shop area was large and enjoyable. The weather is just luck of the draw; next time I’d like to use the outdoor facilities—and also try meals other than the buffet if possible. It would be helpful if there were a map showing where each item is located in the buffet area. Because the venue is large and it was fairly crowded, it took a while to reach what we wanted. As for the baths: only the stairs from the changing area down into the bathing room felt a bit dark—I thought some lighting there would be nice (everything else was sufficient). Overall, everything has been renovated in a practical way for comfort—it made for a very pleasant stay.

Perfect for a three-generation family trip.
We stayed here with three generations right in the middle of Golden Week. Traveling with a two-year-old who still doesn’t understand much can be stressful, but this time we were able to relax. The Room was a spacious Japanese-style room, so it felt safe even when our child got excited. The retro-style building also had plenty of space in the baths and dining area, so we never felt uncomfortable staying with a child. And the meals—since it was a buffet, we honestly didn’t expect much, but there was a wide variety of dishes and everything tasted great. We were impressed by the quality. Even when there were lines (common at buffets), they weren’t too bothersome. With plenty of staff on hand, used dishes were cleared quickly and food was replenished perfectly. We also enjoyed the all-you-can-drink option, including beer. All of the staff were kind and pleasant. It became a wonderful memory for us.

Now I understand why it’s so highly rated!
I really wanted to visit an Onsen for my husband’s birthday, so we went to nearby Hakone. I visited after watching YouTube and reading Reviews, and it exceeded my expectations. It isn’t a new Facility, but the Room interior has been renovated and felt very comfortable, and overall it seemed well cleaned. At the restaurant and in the lobby, honestly, the quality of service varied greatly depending on the staff member (attentiveness, wording, understanding, etc.). In particular at the restaurant, our 3-year-old was clinging to us and carrying trays felt dangerous, so we tried to borrow a cart but were gently told not to use one (even though it wasn’t crowded at all), which was disappointing. The same was true in the lobby upon arrival. I understand that trainees from overseas may be inexperienced, but there were language barriers and I had to ask repeatedly, which took time. The food was delicious; each dish seemed carefully prepared. For the Onsen, we went to a separate building. There were many types of open-air baths, but because I didn’t check what amenities were available beforehand, I had a hard time. It felt well managed—for example staff spoke to guests who entered wearing swimsuits. There were quite a few leaves and insects floating in the open-air bath (which is unavoidable outdoors), so it would have been nice if there had been a net available for guests to use. We also enjoyed the Plan souvenir gifts and the sweets in our Room—they were delicious. We felt welcomed even with children, which made us happy. Since we stayed for a birthday celebration as well as received thoughtful consideration from you all; it became a fun memory we’ll cherish. If averaged out my rating would be 4 overall; however I am very satisfied! Thank you very much!

The staff were wonderful!
It was my first stay, and I was extremely satisfied! At check-in, the female front desk staff member answered all of my questions with a smile throughout. We stayed in the “Suisa” Japanese-Western Room with an open-air Onsen bath, and the kids were thrilled and enjoyed bathing again and again! The meals were buffet-style, so they were fairly standard, but it left a strong impression to see the staff constantly clearing dishes and helping other children serve food. My child accidentally pressed the buttons on the in-Room safe and it wouldn’t open, but they responded right away. There were plenty of staff, and everyone we interacted with provided excellent service. Next time, I’d like to bring my mother!

Reviews
We stayed for a Multiple Night Stay in a Japanese-Western style room, and the guest room, meals, and housekeeping were all very good. The service was especially excellent, including the Shuttle Service by car when we returned from the attached Onsen Facility. The bath itself was average. Perhaps because the building is a bit old, at night while sleeping we could hear some noise from the toilet in the neighboring Room, but depending on the price, I think it’s a place we would like to stay again next time.

Graduation Commemoration
We stayed as a family of four to celebrate our child’s elementary school graduation. We stayed in the Peony Room, and everything was excellent, including the in-room bath, amenities, and drinks. The hospitality was also attentive, and we truly enjoyed our two-day stay. Thank you very much.

We enjoyed the Onsen and the buffet.
We were picked up from Yumoto Station in Mr. Okada’s car. The Room was easy to use and had ReFa shampoo and conditioner, a hair dryer, and both curling and straightening irons, so I was really happy not to worry about styling the next day. We chose the buffet Plan for meals; dinner included salmon roe and steak, and breakfast had a great selection suitable for the morning—very satisfying. Overall, all of the staff were excellent.

We stayed here on a family trip.
I previously stayed in the “Miyabi” Room and loved it, so I came back again. This time we chose a compact Japanese-style Room on the second floor, and our 9-month-old enjoyed walking around, allowing us to spend a calm and relaxing time. The soundproofing was excellent, so we didn’t have to worry about noise from neighboring rooms or floors, which was very reassuring. The large public bath and open-air Onsen exceeded expectations for the price, and we could really feel the quality of the water. The breakfast and dinner buffets offered a wide variety of dishes with quick refills, and everything felt clean—highly recommended for families visiting Hakone. In particular, the dining venue staff were attentive and observant, and the experienced staff provided truly professional service. A 11:00 check-out was also a welcome point when traveling with children. After our stay, we returned home feeling happy that our day ended with smiles as a family. Thank you very much for this visit!

We would love to stay here again.
After a trip visiting spiritual power spots with my daughter, we walked 15,000 steps before finally reaching the Hotel. Since our Room had a private foot bath, we were able to relax and soothe our tired feet as soon as we arrived. To top it off, sparkling wine was prepared for us—enjoying a foot bath while sipping wine was the best. The attentive service throughout made this an Accommodation we definitely want to visit again. All the staff were cheerful and very kind. Thank you for taking such good care of us.

This was a very disa...
This was a very disappointing experience. I had already paid at the time of Reservation for the total including adults and children (ages 4 and up), but the day before my stay I suddenly received a message from the Hotel saying that an additional child fee was required. Even though the amount shown when I completed the Reservation already included the child fee, this extra charge is unfair and undermines trust. If it had been clearly stated in advance, that would be one thing, but being contacted right before check-in was extremely confusing. Other travelers should be aware.

A Trip for Two with a Child
I first stayed at Hotel Okada about six months ago, and it left me with the impression that it is very child-friendly. So, to celebrate my birthday, I took my first trip alone with my 4-year-old child. The Room we stayed in this time, Suisai, comes with an open-air bath. It also has a terrace, where we could clearly see the moon and stars in the night sky, which delighted my child who loves stargazing. The open-air bath was located right next to the Japanese-style room and washbasin area, so the heating kept us warm and we could change without getting chilled. The ReFa shower and hair dryer were great, and the amenities were well stocked. There were also samue loungewear provided, so the next morning we went straight to enjoy the breakfast buffet and footbath. Last time we came by car, but this time we took a taxi from Hakone-Yumoto Station. The fare was under 1,000 yen, which was very reasonable (though I felt it would be difficult to walk there, especially with a child). My child had such a wonderful time that even weeks later they keep saying, “I want to stay at Okada again!” This time we chose a Plan without dinner, but since the dinner buffet was delicious on our previous stay, I’d love to take our time and enjoy dinner again next time.

Overall, it was good.
The Room has a bed right next to you the moment you enter. It feels like a Japanese-style room was somewhat forcibly renovated, so it comes across as mismatched. There is also a fairly high step up/down when going to the toilet or washbasin, which is inconvenient. However, since it’s an inexpensive Room, that may be expected. The view of the neighboring Accommodation “Nanpuso,” visible from almost anywhere, caught my attention and made me wonder what kind of place it is (lol). You can still see greenery beyond Nanpuso. The bath was great. My husband was recuperating after a fracture, and he said even one day made him feel much better. The day-use open-air bath seems popular, but I liked the spacious indoor bath in the Hotel’s large public bath. Dinner was luxurious and delicious, with items like domestic beef steak and crab gratin. Breakfast also included premium ingredients such as “Kagosei” kamaboko (fish cake). Guests ranged from individual travelers to tour groups, but no one had bad manners. Hearing natural “thank you” and “excuse me” in the elevator felt really pleasant. Service was neither particularly good nor bad—just average. That said, since we had paid in advance, when we returned the key at checkout, a male staff member who seemed very experienced received it with a friendly manner, which left a good impression.

Enjoy the Onsen and buffet
I was looking for a Ryokan with an Onsen in the Room, and I chose this one because it was more reasonably priced than others. The building feels historic, but for me that added to the charm and really suited an Onsen stay. The large public bath is spacious both indoors and outdoors, with a great sense of openness—very relaxing! In the Room, I could adjust the water temperature in the Onsen, and since I could hop in anytime, I enjoyed it again and again right up until check-out. Meals were buffet-style for both breakfast and dinner. There was an amazing variety of dishes, which made it exciting, and I was very satisfied!

Absolutely satisfied!!
This was my first visit with my elderly mother. The Accommodation itself has a charming, old-fashioned feel, but it is very well maintained and felt spotless and clean. This time we chose the “Miyabi” Room on the 12th floor, and it was truly an outstanding Room. I heard it was renovated in 2024, and the entire Room is completely barrier-free, which made my mother—who can sometimes trip even on small steps—very happy. The refrigerator had several kinds of complimentary drinks, and there were so many options for tea, black tea, and coffee that we couldn’t possibly finish them all—such wonderful hospitality. The lighting in the Room is soft, making it a calm and relaxing space. The vanity had double sinks and was very convenient to use. I was also surprised that all three hair tools—the dryer, curling iron, and rotating brush dryer—were ReFa. And to top it off, the shower head as well as the shampoo, conditioner, and body wash were all ReFa too! The open-air bath in the Room was spacious enough for three people to soak comfortably, and it felt amazing!! As for the view: you can see another Accommodation in front of you and a road in the distance. However, there is a screen like shoji that blocks direct sightlines, so it wasn’t an issue at all. Although we were told we could adjust the water temperature, it felt a little lukewarm at times, which was disappointing. Also, since everything is so barrier-free otherwise, I thought having a handrail for getting into the tub would have been nice. For dinner we chose kaiseki served in a private dining room. Everything was delicious. It may have been a bit too much food for my mother, but it was just right for me. We also truly enjoyed the Japanese set breakfast. This Accommodation exceeded our expectations in every way—the Room(s), open-air bath(s), meals—but what impressed us most of all was the staff. Everyone in every section was pleasant and responded with great care and professionalism. My mother was delighted as well; I left completely satisfied too. We will definitely return!!
