25th Wedding Anniversary Celebration - A Stay Gifted by Our Children

Absolutely amazing. This sums it up. The hospitality and service were, of course, impressive in every aspect. It was incomparable to any Hotel I have stayed at before. Truly outstanding.

    This is my second st...

This is my second stay, and it is a very wonderful Hotel. However, the steak was more tender last year—perhaps this is due to rising prices? Also, since there was melon among the fruits, I wished there had been prosciutto as well. The bath was not crowded, and I was able to relax very much.

Thank you for hosting us on our wedding anniversary. The room, meals, and staff were excellent, and we would love to visit again. However, one disappointment was the celebratory whole cake we reserved (though it was an external product and not directly related to Asaya Hotel, as the order was made through your website). It was shipped frozen, but perhaps due to poor defrosting or product quality, the strawberries on the cake were watery and mushy. This was our only regret. As Asaya Hotel's desserts are reputed to be delicious, we hope you can consider offering custom-made cakes in the future. Once again, everything else was truly wonderful—thank you for taking care of us!

A Journey to Express Gratitude to Your Parents

My mother saw a feature on TV and said, "Asaya Hotel looks great," so we planned our first family trip in decades. Both of them are now elderly, and I was a bit worried about how it would go, but they seemed to fully enjoy the Onsen, making it a very memorable trip. From the washroom in the large public bath to the room, there were ReFa and Dyson hair dryers available. Everything was clean and modern without feeling outdated—truly impressive for keeping up with current trends. I was also surprised to find that some baths had ReFa showerheads. We stayed at Hachibankan, which has rooms with private open-air baths. When we requested guidance to enhance our travel mood, a lovely young female staff member kindly explained everything to us, leaving us feeling warm and happy. The quality of service from the young female staff members is outstanding! We were recommended trying matcha service at the exclusive lounge—it’s true that conversations matter! Without their suggestion, we might have missed this opportunity. For dinner, we enjoyed a kaiseki course in a private room where we could relax at our own pace—it was delicious. Breakfast was buffet-style; we indulged until full! Although I’m more of a coffee person, I ended up having three cups of tea because they served my favorite brand from before. At the Sky Garden Open-Air Bath under the night sky filled with stars and moonlight, my mother and I shared precious moments together while soaking in warm water on an "o-fune" (boat-shaped bath). We reflected on how grateful we were that my father with limited mobility could also enjoy an open-air bath comfortably. Thank you for your thoughtful consideration regarding my father’s legs even before departure—providing chairs and arranging parking made walking less burdensome for him. Coincidentally staying here on my parents’ wedding anniversary day made this trip even more special. Thanks to all staff members' warm hospitality; it became such an enjoyable journey. Thank you very much!

Private dining experience rivaling a buffet

We visited to celebrate a 60th birthday. Instead of the famous buffet, we enjoyed dinner at the private dining room "Nikko," where we could relax and spend time in our own space. Wearing the borrowed celebratory red vest, we had a wonderful 60th birthday celebration. We are deeply grateful for your thoughtful gestures, including photos and celebratory chopsticks. The dishes such as hors d'oeuvres, sashimi, dobin-mushi (steamed soup), tender steak, seafood tempura, and matsutake mushroom with yuba rice were all exceptional. The variety of baths was delightful as well, and we were able to enjoy a beautiful autumn moment while admiring the stunning fall foliage.

    Everything I ate was delicious.

The creative cuisine was delicious, no matter what I tried, and the presentation was beautiful. I looked forward to the next evening's dinner. The rooftop open-air bath was spacious and offered a great sense of freedom, especially the boat-shaped tub, which had a charming and unique atmosphere. I wish table tennis and billiards could be enjoyed more casually. I would love to visit again!

    For family trips

We stayed as a group of six spanning three generations. We were divided into two rooms, three men and three women. The rooms were ordinary, nothing particularly special or disappointing. However, the layout upon entering was impressive, and the buffet-style meals were enjoyable without feeling overcrowded (perhaps due to staggered dining times?). The slight time adjustment created a pleasant atmosphere, and there were no guests with poor manners, allowing us to fully enjoy our stay. The food was delicious; although we usually avoid buffets, we chose it based on good reviews—and it turned out to be the right choice. Since it's a bit far for us, we likely won't visit again but decided on this accommodation for this trip. Highly recommended overall! However, the view of the abandoned onsen town from the window was slightly eerie.

    Asaya is wonderful.

Family stay. The lobby, open-air bath, and large public bath are all excellent. As expected from the reviews, the buffet is impressive.

    Memories of Family Birthdays

This time, my sister and nephew stayed in September, their birthday month. The 27th was my sister's birthday, making it a memorable experience. The Hotel staff provided excellent service. During dinner, when my sister felt slightly unwell and I was rubbing her back, a restaurant staff member nearby immediately brought water for her. We were deeply grateful for this kind gesture. The buffet lived up to its reputation and was so delicious that we ended up eating too much! We were also able to buy souvenirs within the Hotel, and the beautiful interior made it a wonderful trip overall. If we have another chance to visit Kinugawa, we would love to stay at this Accommodation again. Thank you very much to all the staff!

    It was a wonderful time.

The meals were made with high-quality ingredients and were all delicious. The bathroom was well-equipped with a ReFa shower head, hairdryer, and shampoo bar, allowing us to enjoy a luxurious and relaxing time. Thank you for your kind assistance despite my mistake in the Reservation. My entire family said, "We definitely want to come back!" as we returned home. It was perfect.

    We stayed with two i...

We stayed with two infants. Since it was raining on the day of check-in, by the time we checked in around 3:30 PM, only dinner slots starting from 7:00 PM or later were available. If you prefer an earlier dinner, it might be a good idea to consider the weather on the day. The lobby was spacious, and although there were many people waiting to check in, it didn’t feel cramped at all. The front desk staff were very polite and left a great impression. We stayed in a Precious Japanese-Western style room. The room was thoroughly cleaned and very beautiful, which made our children extremely happy. Since our children are small, we only used the private bathroom in the room; it was so comfortable that even our kids—who usually don’t like baths—enjoyed taking a morning bath. The meals offered a wide variety of options, including plenty of dishes suitable for children, which was great. As we found the room very comfortable, we didn’t use many facilities within the accommodation; however, all staff members at places like reception desks, shops, and dining areas provided excellent service with warm hospitality. It’s definitely a hotel we’d love to visit again. Thank you!

    No repeat discounts available.

We chose this family-friendly Hotel, known for being baby and kid-friendly, to celebrate our son's first birthday and his Onsen debut. We were also looking forward to the popular buffet and arrived with an appetite. However, we were very disappointed with the staff at the live kitchen during the dinner buffet. The sushi chef was coughing into their hand while preparing sushi without changing gloves or washing hands. They also muttered under their breath throughout service, and when we requested specific toppings, they responded with a click of their tongue. The person in charge of grilling ayu fish handled it so roughly that the fish got crushed while plating it by hand. Their attitude was far from what one would expect in hospitality services. Other guests nearby were also commenting on how unacceptable this was, so it seems our family wasn’t alone in feeling this way. Unfortunately, it rained heavily the next day as we headed to the station. The shuttle bus was fully booked, calling a taxi proved difficult, and there were no umbrellas available for loan at the Hotel. We had to purchase an umbrella on-site and walk to the station with our one-year-old son. Thank you for hosting us during our stay.

    Always an exceptional experience!

We finally had the chance to invite our family to stay at Asaya, which we love so much. We visited with 10 people, including our parents, siblings, and nephew. Although it was difficult to secure a reservation, it turned out to be a wonderful and memorable stay. The trip also celebrated my father's 77th birthday (Kiju). During dinner, he was overjoyed by the celebration from the staff. Thank you very much for that! I forgot something in the room but truly appreciate your prompt response in delivering it to me by the next day. The meals, baths, and even the sound of the pipe organ were all so pleasant that everyone in my family has become big fans of Asaya. We look forward to visiting again next year!

It would be perfect if bath towels were freely available in the bathroom changing room. Everything else was completely satisfying.

    It was relaxing.

I stayed here for a trip with my mother. The Onsen was clean, had the perfect temperature, and was very relaxing. The meals were served buffet-style with a wide variety of options, so much that we couldn't try everything. I would love to visit again.

    A large and sparkling Hotel

Arrived at 3 PM on a weekday, and check-in required taking a number card and waiting for 15 minutes. The process was efficient but felt mechanical, focusing on speed. The buffet offered 100 varieties of dishes, making it hard to choose. I was satisfied with the meal as I ate to my heart's content, but the crowd made it less relaxing. The bath in the basement of Building 8 was small, clean, and not crowded. Handling many guests with limited staff might be challenging, but I felt there was a lack of warmth in the service.

    The dinner buffet exceeds expectations!

This was my first visit to the Kinugawa Onsen area. When deciding on an accommodation, I came across "Asaya," which many YouTubers highly recommend in their videos, and decided to stay here. As described by YouTubers as offering "the largest and most luxurious buffet in Eastern Japan," the quality and variety of dishes exceeded all expectations. The dinner was so extravagant that it would be impossible to try everything even after staying once or twice! Truly impressive! There are three Onsen facilities within the building, and among them, the rooftop Onsen with a "boat-shaped" bath overlooking the Kinugawa scenery was breathtaking! Although it is a large-scale hotel reminiscent of those from the bubble era, both the dining areas and Onsen facilities are spacious enough to ensure a stress-free stay. The building features an open atrium design where you can view public areas from glass elevators. Additionally, there are entertainment facilities such as a game corner and fortune-telling room, making for an enjoyable experience. After staying here this time, I realized why this accommodation is loved by repeat guests—it truly makes you want to come back again. I believe this is an excellent accommodation suitable for people of all ages!

    Satisfied.

I am a member of the Asaya Club and always choose this hotel for family trips. I am satisfied with everything, including the room, staff, and meals. However... it was a bit disappointing that the check-in and check-out times were not applicable to Asaya Club members because I made the reservation through IKYU.com.

    The Best Accommodation Ever

The hospitality, service, room, open-air bath, and meals were all excellent. The meals were as delicious as expected. The buffet had a wide variety of dishes, and there were so many more I wanted to try, but unfortunately, I was too full before getting to them. I would definitely love to stay at this accommodation again.

Onsen is wonderful, and meals depend on personal preference.

Stayed for two nights. The Onsen is excellent, with both the open-air bath and the large public bath being wonderful. It’s inconvenient to bring towels from the room, but the large public bath is equipped with modern hair dryers, making it comfortable. The buffet offers a wide variety of dishes, though most are not very tasty. The crab served at night is delicious, but desserts and drinks seem significantly cost-cut. Additionally, it was concerning that no staff addressed a situation where small children at another table were watching videos loudly.

Everything was satisfactory, but the service at the sushi corner during meals was disappointing.

The Room, bath, and meals were all very satisfying, but I was disappointed with the unfriendly and condescending attitude of the staff at the sushi corner during the buffet. It wasn't just me; my adult son also mentioned it. While I fully understand they were busy, it would be appreciated if they could provide service from a more customer-oriented perspective. Other than that, it was an excellent Room, and I look forward to visiting again next year.

Overall, it was average. There were no particularly exciting moments, but nothing disappointing either. The staff's hospitality felt modern yet somewhat self-centered, and their service did not leave a positive impression.

    Had too high expectations.

I was very excited when I first saw the Hotel. The lobby's open ceiling was also impressive. However, in the Room, the air conditioning did not reach the back bedroom well, and lowering the temperature made the front Room extremely cold, which was disappointing. During dinner, I couldn't enjoy my meal at all due to a group of men in their 50s loudly conversing after drinking heavily. Although others seemed to feel similarly, the staff did not address it. I had high expectations because of good Reviews but felt let down. Additionally, it was disappointing that we couldn't use the Onsen after checkout; it would have been nice if access were allowed until at least late morning.

Accommodation for a family to enjoy hearty meals together

Stayed for one night and two days with a friend. Wanted to relax at an Onsen accommodation as work had been hectic, so I checked IKYU.com and found the popular Asaya Hotel available. Arrived by car but was unsure where to park. Ended up parking in an open spot like others seemed to be doing and headed into the hotel. Check-in involved waiting until my number was called, which felt more like being at a hospital than at a hotel. Understandable for such a large accommodation, but it lacked any sense of relaxation or hospitality. Dinner was said to be popular, and I could see why with its extensive menu that included some high-end dishes. However, the atmosphere was far from relaxing due to noisy families and children pushing food carts around recklessly—definitely not ideal for enjoying a quiet meal. Breakfast ingredients were decent, but there were issues like only one chef making omelets leading to long lines, unclear directions for the drink bar location, and being seated far from the buffet area unless you secured a good spot early. Additionally, during the night there were loud gurgling noises coming from the bathroom drain multiple times which made it impossible to sleep well. Upon checkout there was no send-off or farewell gesture; we simply left quietly. Overall, this accommodation felt more like a super sento with an all-you-can-eat buffet rather than an Onsen retreat meant for relaxation. It seems best suited for those who just want to enjoy eating in abundance rather than seeking tranquility or rejuvenation through Onsen experiences.

    Excellent!!

This Asaya Hotel was the destination of my parents' honeymoon decades ago, and at their request, we visited it for the first time as a family trip. Although it was difficult to secure a Reservation due to high demand, our stay proved why it’s so popular. It is an absolutely wonderful Hotel where everything was perfect. The staff were incredibly kind and attentive, and the buffet offered an overwhelming variety of dishes—all delicious and highly satisfying. With three Onsen facilities available, we could relax comfortably, which was fantastic. The amenities provided in the Room reflected thoughtful attention to detail and offered exceptional service not found elsewhere. The Onsen manju sold in the morning on-site were also incredibly delicious and became a must-buy souvenir for our next visit. This is truly an outstanding Hotel that I would love to visit again and again!

    Perfect

I stayed at the Hachibankan. The location was very convenient, with the souvenir corner right behind the lobby floor, close access to the Premium Lounge and elevators, and easy movement to the large public bath, which made my elderly parents very happy. Everything was excellent, and we have visited 4–5 times since our children were small. This time was our first visit in several years, but I was impressed by the variety of shampoos, showerheads, and hair dryers available to try out. The Premium Lounge was also lovely. Other guests had good manners as well. The baths were clean with a great sense of cleanliness overall. The hospitality and every aspect of this Hotel are simply outstanding!

    Celebrating Mother's 80th Birthday

We celebrated my mother's 80th birthday at the Hotel. Despite her picky taste in food, she was delighted with the buffet selection. The thoughtful hospitality of Asaya Hotel was evident everywhere, allowing us to relax completely. It was also my father's first family-only trip, and he seemed very happy. Thanks to Asaya Hotel, we were able to make this a memorable occasion for our parents. Thank you so much! At check-out, we received a lovely gift from the manager in celebration of my mother's 80th birthday—thank you! However, the message card mistakenly mentioned her 90th birthday instead of her 80th, which was a bit disappointing. Still, my mother was pleased and happy about it overall, so I felt relieved.
