    The buffet selection...

    The buffet selection for both dinner and breakfast was excellent. I stayed at this accommodation due to a trip to Kokura, but if I lived nearby, I would want to use it regularly.

    Highly Satisfied!

    Stayed at the Mercure Group with my mother and niece. We enjoyed the lounge access, onsen, dinner, and breakfast to our fullest satisfaction. The breakfast was among the top 2 or even the best compared to other accommodations we've stayed at. Areas for improvement: 1. The amenities in the room's washbasin area were labeled in English, making it difficult to understand which product to use. 2. The onsen changing area felt too open; it would be nice to have some kind of partition or screen near the entrance for privacy. The Snow Skin lotion provided at the washbasin was excellent, but I noticed two elderly guests mistakenly used cleansing oil as lotion—clearer labeling with stickers might help avoid such confusion.

    Highly Rated Mercure

    The room is spacious with a great view, and the Onsen includes indoor baths, open-air baths, and a sauna. The hotel interior is expansive, offering a calm and relaxing atmosphere. The meals had a wide variety of dishes; however, the menu was almost the same every day. That said, the sashimi was fresh and delicious. The freshly made cream puffs were also delightful. With breakfast and dinner included, there was also a wide selection of alcoholic beverages (including local sake), plus free access to the bar until 11 PM. For us as a couple who love drinks, it felt very reasonable. We look forward to staying at Mercure Hotels across the whole country in the future!

    We stayed as a group of 7.

    Mercure Hotel was our first stay in Karatsu and second in Munakata. After sharing the hotel's excellence with friends and acquaintances, we ended up with a group of seven for this stay (there are others interested, so we plan to bring them next time). As before, we deeply appreciated the warm hospitality. We toasted at the lounge, relaxed in the bath, and enjoyed a leisurely time. The much-anticipated dinner buffet exceeded everyone's expectations—not only was the food delicious, but there was also an impressive variety of dishes. The wide selection of drinks added to our enjoyment as well. Being able to return to the lounge after dinner was truly appreciated. The breakfast buffet the next morning was equally satisfying and delicious. The rooms, hallways—everywhere—were clean and comfortable, making it a pleasant accommodation experience overall. We are already planning another visit with close friends next month. Thank you again for this wonderful stay!

    First Trip with Grandchild

    We were initially worried that traveling with an infant might not be enjoyable and could inconvenience others, but thanks to the excellent service provided by the staff, we had a wonderful stay. The accommodation was well-maintained in every detail, and despite hosting many guests, the service was outstanding. We would love to stay here again.

    Staying at the accommodation after a long time

    I have stayed here several times before the rebranding. The Room felt almost the same as before. The buffet offered a wide variety of food to enjoy. Since I cannot drink alcohol, I really appreciated having non-alcoholic beer available.

    It was relaxing.

    Three women, aged 69, stayed at the accommodation. We booked a plan with breakfast and dinner included, so we were able to relax and enjoy our time at the hotel. Two years ago, I stayed here during summer vacation with my grandchildren and had a wonderful experience, so I invited my friends this time. My friends were also very satisfied, and it was an excellent stay. Delicious meals and a relaxing atmosphere—we would love to visit again!

    Affordable deal just before Golden Week, making you want to complete the Reservation!

    I had initially booked a one-night drive trip, but I came across an incredibly affordable Plan at a stopover location and ended up booking another night here. On the day of arrival, I got there early, but since the Room was ready, I could check in immediately. First, I headed to the lounge. It was extremely crowded, and while I managed to find a seat, it wasn’t very relaxing. After having one drink each, we returned to our Room and went to the large public bath. Fortunately, it wasn’t crowded yet so we could relax there. I accidentally entered the changing room with my slippers on and couldn’t find a place to put them until I noticed a large slipper rack behind the glass door of the post-bath area—how did I miss that? The post-bath area offered several beverages; the green tea was particularly delicious. Dinner started at 5:30 PM. When we arrived at that time, the main dining area was already full with long lines for food stations. While waiting in line for what turned out to be steak (as clarified by staff), we managed to get other dishes despite some crowding and enjoyed our meal in another room about 10 meters away (where drinks were also available). This space also filled up quickly. Breakfast was similarly busy; we ate in that same secondary space again due to crowding elsewhere. Both dinner and breakfast were quite tasty! The menu seemed like a mix of Mercure’s standard offerings combined with local ingredients. The bathroom in our Room had an older design with about a 10 cm step-up entryway—it combined toilet and sink areas which felt compact rather than spacious—but considering cost-effectiveness overall it seemed reasonable enough. The Room itself felt spacious without much sense of age or wear; it provided comfortable accommodations throughout our stay. For two people sharing one Room with two meals included at just over ¥10,000 per person per night—the value felt quite satisfying overall! I’m now considering staying at other Mercure locations as well!

    Satisfied with local ingredients

    The front desk service was very pleasant and kind. The local ingredients were abundant, the meals were hearty, and everything was incredibly delicious. A place worth visiting again and again. Very satisfied!

    The meals are delicious.

    Dinner was Chinese cuisine. On the first day, white rice was served midway, allowing us to enjoy the dishes as side dishes. On the second day, the savory sauce-covered fried rice was exquisite.

    I chose the wrong Hotel.

    The term "Resort & Spa" might be misleading and should probably be removed. The property itself feels outdated, reminiscent of a Showa-era group travel Hotel, with interior decor and atmosphere to match. I was surprised by the small screen size of the TV in the guest room, which was even smaller than the one at my home. Additionally, it took some time to get used to (or stop noticing) a peculiar smell in the building that seemed like deodorizer. Since it was said to have Onsen baths, I used them three times during my stay. However, for those looking for a relaxing and comfortable Hotel stay on their holiday, I absolutely do not recommend this place. It does not seem like a property suitable for listing on IKYU.com. My family also commented that I made a poor choice in selecting this Hotel, and we checked out early the next morning without delay.

    Completely satisfied.

    Stayed with my wife and her two friends, a total of 4 people, on an all-inclusive plan. At check-in, we were impressed by the wonderful smile and service of the young female staff. We then toasted with beer and sparkling wine in the lounge. The room was spacious, clean, and had a great view—very satisfying. The bath was large and impeccably clean, leaving a good impression. However, the inconvenience of having to bring towels from the room needs to be addressed. The buffet-style dinner was perfect in terms of variety and quality. There was also a wide selection of drinks available, including carbonated water and tonic water from dispensers—extremely satisfying. Overall, it was highly satisfactory and received high praise from my wife and her friends. They expressed their desire to return without hesitation—and I completely agree!

    Overall, it was a great experience. The bathroom area was completely renovated, offering a clean and fresh atmosphere. The surrounding area has well-maintained cycling paths, making it enjoyable to explore by bike. I felt thoroughly refreshed. Thank you very much!

    4th Stay

    This is my fourth stay since the rebranding. I often come here because it’s affordable. Despite the facility being old, it is well-maintained, but the carpet on the floor is quite dirty overall, which bothers me. The idea of offering ice in the bath at night is great. However, I would like to see an improvement in the bath usage hours—extending them until midnight and starting earlier than 5:30 AM in the morning would be helpful. Especially considering breakfast time, even starting 30 minutes earlier would make a difference. I’ve already made a reservation for next month through another site.

    Great value for money!

    This was our 7th stay at the Mercure. Previously, we introduced it to my sister and her husband, as well as my daughter's family, and they loved it so much that they’ve become repeat guests. The buffet is simply outstanding with its quality and variety—far surpassing even famous hotels in Tenjin or Hakata—and the price is truly remarkable. However, for a couple in their 60s, having both dinner and breakfast felt a bit too indulgent for our stomachs this time, so we opted for breakfast only. Even then, it was more than satisfying and felt like a main meal for us middle-aged guests. For dinner, we brought in bento boxes and appreciated having access to a microwave oven—it was incredibly convenient. Apologies if this lowered the average spending per guest! We also enjoyed being able to watch BS channels; catching the baseball game until the end was such a treat. Afterward, I had three glasses of liqueur at the night lounge before sleeping soundly through till morning. Please continue maintaining this wonderful experience for as long as possible!

To make the Hotel even more comfortable, I have the following requests: - Have amenities like razors been discontinued? Please do not remove them. - Could you place a stand in the bathroom to hold towels, scrubbing items, or sauna mats? - I was looking forward to enjoying amazake this time but could not find it.     Great value for money.

    Many international guests, including those from China and Korea. Meals are served buffet-style and are delicious. Temperature control could be improved. The bed mattresses are slightly soft. Overall, good value for money.

    Enjoyed a resort-like experience at a reasonable price.

    This was my first time using this accommodation when I visited the life-size 1/1 scale Nu Gundam at Lalaport Fukuoka with my child. The location, being a bit away from the city center, allowed us to stay at a very reasonable price. It feels like a rural area in Kyushu. While it might be slightly inconvenient for sightseeing by train or bus, we traveled by car and had no issues. There is a spacious flat parking lot available for free. Despite being a weekday, many rooms were occupied by guests. Some rooms offer beautiful ocean views from the windows, giving you the feeling of being in a small resort area. Although the building is somewhat old, it has been renovated and does not feel outdated. The room's bathroom faucet was an older type that mixes hot and cold water manually, which my child found difficult to adjust; however, there is a large public bath with an onsen available for free use, so those who prefer that will have no problems. Soaking in the onsen helps relieve travel fatigue. If I had to point out any drawbacks, it would be that the room Wi-Fi seemed slightly unstable at times. However, as many people now have smartphone plans with ample data allowances, they may not need to rely on Wi-Fi much anyway. Additionally, there are few dining options near the hotel at night; therefore, it's better to either eat beforehand or use the hotel's restaurant. Considering how affordable the accommodation fee is overall, including meals in your budget might be worth considering. The next day we visited Marine World Uminonakamichi (aquarium), which was easily accessible by car as well. While some may find this location slightly inconvenient depending on their needs or preferences for transportation methods like public transit versus driving themselves—personally speaking—I found this hotel highly satisfying overall!

    I am a repeat guest. I appreciate the drinks and snacks in the lounge!

    The room is spacious with a great view. The front desk service has improved compared to before. During my previous visit, the foreign group guests were very noisy and had poor manners, which was frustrating. However, this time, although there were foreign group guests again, they were well-mannered and not noisy at all. Everyone followed the rules in the large public bath as well (it's impressive that the Snow Skin Essence amenities weren't stolen). Since there aren't many places nearby to go for drinks, I really appreciated the lounge's drink and snack offerings! It also seemed like there were slightly more snack options than last time. It's unfortunate that the shop closes early and its selection has worsened. I recall being able to buy light meals like bread before. Since it's a bit of a distance to a convenience store, it would be helpful if items like bread, bananas, yogurt, small snacks, or cup noodles were available for when you get hungry.

    Staying after 20 years

    We stayed as a family for the first time in a while. We were able to spend our time nostalgically and leisurely. Considering the low price, it was nice to be able to use the lounge. However, the children's meal prices were too high, so it would be great if you could reconsider this setting a bit more. Please consider it.

    It is better to avoid peak seasons.

    I used the property because I wanted to spend New Year's Day leisurely. The rooms were probably fully booked. When I arrived, the front desk was crowded with families waiting to complete their check-in, and there was no place to sit. Dinner and breakfast were each divided into three slots, but both were like a scene from hell. You need to secure your own seat, so if you're late, you can't sit down. The buffet line extended from the dining room into the hallway because the serving area was small compared to the number of people. In that hallway, there were some token salads placed which caused congestion and echoed with angry shouts from frustrated men. The hotel staff seemed overwhelmed with providing food and couldn't pay attention to guests' needs. In this situation, dinner was limited to an hour and a half and breakfast for an hour; everyone seemed tense due to these time constraints. The lounge also had a scramble for chairs & snacks, while the large public bath felt overcrowded as well. The onsen lounge only offered amazake (sweet sake), so it didn't feel like a place where you could relax after bathing. I stayed here because my parents had good reviews when they used it during its rebranding period; however, if things remain as they are now, I won't be repeating my stay. Perhaps it can be enjoyed leisurely during less busy times or on weekdays when there aren't many guests.

    I previously stayed ...

    I previously stayed at the Mercure in Kochi and Nagano and liked it very much, so I took the opportunity to use it when I went to Fukuoka this time. The lounge snacks available from 3 PM were the best I've had so far. Dinner included sesame mackerel and amberjack, which was very satisfying. The amenities in the large public bath being Sekkisei were also appreciated. However, as a downside, the tatami mats in the Room (Japanese-Western style) were too old and dirty, as well as dirt on the window glass and carpet stains. Well, at this price point, I can't complain too much... But I think it's worth more than its price.

    There are pros and cons, but overall satisfied.

    I used it for the purpose of visiting Munakata Taisha. The good points are the breakfast buffet, the room feels old but is acceptable, and the scenery and environment are good. Having breakfast while watching the garden is nice. The open design creates a pleasant atmosphere. The room was also reasonably spacious. The bad points are access, the response of cleaning staff in the large public bath, and management at the buffet. Anyway, access from the station is very poor. It’s far from the bus stop as well, and there are too few free shuttle services. The cleaning staff in the large public bath start cleaning an hour before closing time, making it hard to relax. Management at the buffet is poor; seats get taken by foreign tourists while you’re getting food. Even when informed about this issue, I felt their problem-solving ability was lacking. It might be good for those who go by private car. For people like me coming from distant places such as Kanto (Kantou), access is problematic. Overall satisfaction considering cost-effectiveness since there aren't any other seemingly good hotels around either.

    Affordable Hotel

    There were many guests, so check-in took some time. Also, it was difficult to have meals due to the crowd, but since there was no time limit, I could eat until I was full. Through this site, I booked an anniversary plan and received services like a message plate and fresh squid sashimi with cold sake, making it a really great value stay. It was a bit disappointing that amenities like razors and body sponges were not provided.

    I felt the impact of inbound tourism.

    The Hotel itself was known from before, but it was nicely maintained. The meals were also delicious. The Room was spacious and quiet as it was on an upper floor. It was unfortunate that in the large public bath, some foreigners left the water running to reserve shower booths while soaking in the bath.

    I believe it is a day that the hotel staff are prepared for, but I will still post this. There were many good people among the staff. There was a one-hour wait at check-in. Naturally, you have to take a lot of food at once at the restaurant, and everything got cold. It's a shame because the menu wasn't bad. There are licensing issues, but I wanted the shuttle service to continue. With subsidies, the clientele changes at Mercure, but with discounts, it's only that crowd. Moreover, even though it's crowded, there's extra INB. If congestion information is only on the web, it doesn't feel warm. It would feel kinder if the staff moved around or if there were handwritten notes. Just simply serving, with no welcome or farewell. I understand there is a shortage of staff, but just filling up the rooms isn't right; it should be limited to what can be handled. If it wasn't fully booked that day, I can't say anything more. I would be satisfied with the facilities if they met Daiwa's conditions, but I don't think it can be called a resort. There's no pool in winter. Only the onsen inside, and no recreational facilities. The image of the Accor Hotel Group is also deteriorating.
