    Thank you.

    A relaxing and comfortable trip with my daughter. The staff at the reception were very kind, and in the morning, we enjoyed a hand-grinding coffee mill experience and started our day with delicious coffee. I look forward to staying here again.

    Meals and baths are excellent.

    We thoroughly enjoyed the wonderful meals and relaxing baths once again. The staff were very kind, and the coffee grinding experience was delightful. However, it was disappointing to see that the cracks on the tennis court had worsened compared to last year. A friend of ours fell and got bruised as a result. While it wasn’t serious, they experienced significant pain due to the hard court surface. We recommend addressing this issue before further injuries occur.

    It was a very satisf...

    It was a very satisfying stay. The dinner buffet, in particular, was the best I've ever had in terms of variety and flavor (compared to my stays in Beppu and Karatsu). However, I felt the desserts could use a bit more creativity, especially considering there are many women and children among the guests. Of course, breakfast was also excellent. The space for getting food was a bit narrow, so when it got crowded, it took too long to get food and I couldn't always eat what I wanted.

    Had a wonderful holiday!

    The hotel is quite far from the station, and while buses and trains are well-connected, their frequency is limited. Considering sightseeing along the way, renting a car might be convenient. A free shuttle service is available. The hotel has been well-renovated; although old, it is clean with a pleasant atmosphere in the lobby and onsen. The room was spacious and tidy, offering great ocean views through large windows. It was my first time staying at an all-inclusive accommodation, and I enjoyed the extraordinary experience of choosing beer or sparkling wine as a welcome drink. There were activities like table tennis, and I could relax in the onsen as it wasn’t crowded due to dispersed usage by guests. The dinner and breakfast buffets featured many local dishes not commonly seen at other hotel buffets, as well as unique Southeast Asian and European cuisines—all delicious. Alcohol options included beer, highballs, wine, sake, shochu, whiskey (with several varieties of each), which added to the enjoyment. During cocktail hour at night, guests could make their own cocktails; however, there was only one soda water dispenser available which caused some congestion—a minor downside. While this may not be ideal for those seeking a quiet stay at a hotel, it offers an affordable option for lively enjoyment without worrying about others around you—an excellent experience overall!

    All-Inclusive

    Both dinner and breakfast offered a variety of options, and we couldn't try everything. The meals were very delicious. We also enjoyed the alcohol and drinks, which made it perfect. It was a hotel we would love to stay at again if given the chance.

    The meals were delicious, and it was a cost-effective Hotel!

    The view from the Room was absolutely stunning, offering both the sea and mountains at once! The meals were filled with local ingredients, and everything was delicious and satisfying. In the evening, I enjoyed a relaxing time at the lounge with drinks and Japanese sake. The view from the open-air bath was also amazing, allowing me to fully relax. During my stay, I was lucky to witness the "Miare Festival" and saw the grand movement of boats during checkout, which was an incredible experience! It became a truly memorable stay. I would love to visit again!

    This time, I was dis...

    This time, I was dissatisfied with the cleanliness of the room for the first time. In the unit bath: - Stains on the toilet seat (I cleaned this myself). - Two spots on the wall with toothpaste-like residue. - Dust on the ventilation fan above the bathtub. These three points in particular caught my attention in the guest room. Additionally, I would like to point out an area that seems to have not been cleaned at all since my stay two visits ago: dust around the elevator control buttons, which is present in all three elevators. I hope everything will be clean during my next stay.

    For a visit to Munakata Taisha

    Stayed here last month as well, and returned for another stay while visiting Munakata Taisha for a car blessing. The customer service remains unsatisfactory. The mold on the showerheads in the large public bath is concerning. Other facilities are still outdated, so expectations are low. The meals are always good.

    A Hotel accessible in less than an hour by public transportation from Hakata.

    This time, I stayed with my daughter. The female staff at the front desk (probably a foreigner) had a lovely smile and provided excellent service. The room was on the 12th floor, thanks to the "Diamond Plan" promotion (usually we stay on the 7th or 8th floor), offering a great view of Genkai Sea. The view was truly stunning. The hotel interior seems to get cleaner every time we visit, and it felt very tidy and well-maintained. The bathwater was not too hot, allowing us to relax comfortably. However, it was unclear where to take off slippers; some guests wore them all the way into the locker area in the changing room. Clearer signage would be helpful there. Additionally, having facial cleansing foam available in both the bath area and rooms would be appreciated. Meals were varied with local dishes included for both breakfast and dinner, and everything tasted delicious. Personally, I enjoyed trying different sauces for dinner meats as they allowed me to change flavors easily; also memorable were the breakfast smoothies and butter chicken curry—both were delightful! The dining staff served with smiles while being attentive throughout our meals, making it an enjoyable experience overall. If I may suggest one improvement: having smaller dessert forks would be nice. We used round-trip shuttle service this time as well. On our return trip, we barely made it due to train delays but noticed that if we had missed it by just a little more time (about 10 minutes), we'd have had to wait another 30 minutes for pickup—which could feel long especially for elderly passengers like those who seemed common during this trip—so slightly adjusting schedules might make future visits even smoother when traveling by train. Since becoming part of Mercure Hotels group recently improvements are noticeable over past stays here! With amenities such as pools available too—I look forward bringing grandchildren next summer season!

    Compared to the prev...

    Compared to the previous visit, it was a bit disappointing that the following four items were no longer available in the lounge after 9 PM: - Chocolate - Disinfectant alcohol - Individually wrapped hand towels - Cocoa (soft drink?) Regarding disinfectant alcohol, it seems you can borrow it by asking the staff, and there were machine-dispensed hand towels available instead of individually wrapped ones. As for the bath area, I noticed several guests walking into the changing room still wearing slippers. It would be appreciated if clearer signage could be provided to address this. Overall, I had a relaxing stay again this time. Thank you very much!

    The facility was cle...

    The facility was clean, and the meals were excellent for the price. However, the disappointing aspect was the service. Despite being a high-ranking Hotel, the staff lacked sophistication, giving it more of a countryside Hotel feel. There were fewer friendly and kind staff members, and younger staff seemed particularly unfriendly. The front desk staff who assisted with check-in initially had a smile, but overall, I felt that smiles are truly important.

    (Family-friendly) Excellent Buffet

    It was a lovely hotel, not with an intimidating luxury but more of a family-friendly and relaxing atmosphere. The space was wide and comfortable, though the age of the accommodation and the resulting room odor were noticeable. The lounge is free, so it’s better not to have high expectations. The buffet was extremely delicious and excellent. Unfortunately, there were times when we couldn’t use the onsen due to groups of children staying at the accommodation, which was very disappointing. If this had been announced in advance, we would have chosen another hotel, so it was quite regrettable.

    The meals are excellent.

    Both dinner and breakfast were delicious with a wide variety. The guest room was average, but the Onsen and restaurant were renovated, stylish, and clean. The customer service was not very impressive.

    Public Bath, Gift Shop

    The bath hours were a bit early, and we missed the chance to use it in the evening as we were distracted by activities like fireworks. We ended up using the large public bath in the morning instead. It would be great if the bath was open a little later. The shop also opened late and closed early, which was slightly disappointing. Other than that, everything else was excellent, and the food was delicious!

    Grandchild's Summer Vacation

    I used this accommodation for my grandchild's summer vacation. This was my 7th stay since the rebranding. To conclude, I chose it for its price and the onsen. However, there are few other positive aspects. Especially in terms of customer service from check-in to check-out, it seems to be at a much lower level compared to other international hotels. The low price might justify this, but the building is old and the bedding is quite poor as well. The amenities are not good either. This time, there were services for children due to the summer vacation period, but I think it would be better to have such activities throughout the year. The lounge was overcrowded with many guests and not satisfactory at all—this is a downside too. It feels like there are many areas that need improvement.

    The buffet meals were very delicious. However, perhaps due to the summer holiday season, it was extremely crowded. We had to line up 30 minutes in advance for meals, and there was a long wait at check-in due to the queue. It was disappointing as we came to the hotel to relax but found ourselves needing to plan ahead and rush for everything, which became exhausting. I hope the operations can be improved in the future. The table tennis, pool, and magatama-making activities were enjoyable for children. However, there was inconsistency in service at the front desk—some staff provided excellent service while others left a negative impression. To avoid unpleasant experiences, I chose not to interact with certain staff members. This was my first stay here; if asked whether I would return again, my answer would be uncertain.

    The breakfast buffet was excellent.

    The breakfast buffet was absolutely delicious and very satisfying. The layout of the mini donuts was beautifully arranged, making it enjoyable to look at. Upon tasting, the dough was infused with berries and other flavors, which made them incredibly tasty.

    Summer Trip

    Thank you for a wonderful trip. Although it rained heavily on the first day, I was very satisfied with the clean Room and delicious meals. I also enjoyed tasty drinks at the lounge before and after meals. I would love to stay again if I have the chance.

    The view from the Room was excellent.

    I enjoyed my stay at Mercure Karatsu, so I decided to make a reservation at Munakata as well. Due to traffic, I checked in just before 6 PM, but the process was completed after 6 PM, so I couldn't use the lounge. It would have been nice if they had offered even one drink. Since I had a quick dinner elsewhere, I was looking forward to breakfast the next day. At Karatsu, grilled turban shells were served, which made me excited; however, it was disappointing that similar seafood wasn't available at Munakata. Overall, it was a relaxing stay with a great view from the room. If there's another opportunity, I'd like to complete the reservation again.

    We stayed from 7/31 ...

    We stayed from 7/31 to 8/1 with my parents and my 4-year-old daughter. The room was a Junior Suite on the 13th floor, featuring a spacious Japanese-style area where we could relax comfortably. Although it was a weekday, it was summer vacation, so the lounge and restaurant were lively with families and children. This made it easy for us to feel at ease without worrying too much about being there with kids. The meals exceeded our expectations, offering delicious dishes both in the morning and evening that left us fully satisfied. While the facility is older, the large public bath on the second floor is spacious and clean, as is the restaurant on the first floor. After dinner, we enjoyed playing in a special kids' room on the third floor (free access), which had a wide Japanese-style space that wasn’t crowded—our family had plenty of fun there! The next morning at 10 AM, we were able to change in our room and head straight to enjoy swimming in the pool. Lastly, having freshly ground coffee was an especially delightful experience for us. If possible, I would suggest improving some amenities (especially toothbrush quality) or providing drip coffee along with tea in rooms so guests can enjoy making coffee themselves comfortably in their rooms. Additionally, introducing a coffee or latte machine separate from the lounge—perhaps available during non-nighttime hours—would be wonderful for those who don’t drink alcohol but still want an enjoyable beverage option. That said, we didn’t have any unpleasant experiences; everything contributed to creating wonderful summer vacation memories for us! Thank you very much!

    It was excellent.

    The front desk staff were very kind, and I was very satisfied as I could enjoy table tennis, tennis, and cycling for free. However, the final bath time at 10:30 PM felt a bit early. It would be great if it could be extended to 11:00 PM. Everything else was perfect!

    The large public bath and open-air bath are excellent.

    The management has changed from the Daiwa Royal Hotel Group to the Mercure Group, but the facility itself remains unchanged. The public bath has been renovated and is clean, but during busy times, there are too few washing areas. Every year, my grandchildren look forward to enjoying the pool; however, the changing room is dirty and cramped, making it difficult to use. It would be nice if bath towel service was available for guests at any time (some are charged, which is disappointing). The lounge service for guests is very appreciated. Amenities are well-stocked, but items like hair tonic for men would be a welcome addition. Customer service feels impersonal and lacks warmth.

    Family Vacation

    We stayed as a family of three, including our daughter who temporarily returned home from the Kanto region, and we were very satisfied. It was our first stay at Mercure Fukuoka Munakata Resort & Spa, though we have stayed multiple times at Mercure locations in Karatsu and Beppu. We would love to stay again if given the opportunity.

    Spacious Room

    The building itself may be old, but the spacious room and large bath, along with the late 11:00 AM checkout, made it perfect for a relaxing stay. I usually bring my own amenities, so I didn’t need much; however, it was disappointing that there was nothing provided to wash the body. The towels in the room were thick and not ideal for washing. Another point is that while body oil and skincare products were provided in the bath area, there was no facial cleanser. This wasn’t an issue for me as I had my own, but my husband seemed troubled by this. The meals offered a wide variety of options and were delicious. Perhaps due to the pool opening or being a Saturday before summer vacation, there were many families with children staying. The sound of kids running down the hallway late at night did bother me slightly. Still, this is a very affordable hotel where you can relax comfortably. I would love to stay again during another season!

    It was very comforta...

    It was very comfortable. There was a long line for check-in when I arrived before 4 PM, but it moved surprisingly smoothly. Right after check-in, I used the lounge. Although there were many users, a female staff member worked diligently on replenishing and cleaning all by herself, making the experience very pleasant. The lounge also had hand sanitizer and disposable wet towels, which were not available at the Mercure in Daisen, adding to the comfort. The bath was also comfortable; however, while relaxing in the lounge, I noticed that many people didn’t realize where to take off their slippers. This might be because of the barrier-free design with only a slight color change on the floor mat and small signage that’s easy to miss. The Room had been renovated and looked clean despite some signs of age in areas like plumbing. The view from the Room was stunning as it was a clear day—both the sea and mountains were breathtakingly beautiful. I’ll visit again this autumn! Thank you in advance!
