Excellent value for money.
Unlimited welcome drinks in the lounge with a panoramic view of Mt. Unebiyama, plus unlimited drinks at dinner as well! I only wish I could have enjoyed even more… The meal featured healthy, comforting dishes such as simmered foods with Nara’s flavorful dashi, vegetable soup, meat dishes, rice porridge, and somen noodles. I’d love to visit again to relax.

The buffet offered a wide variety of dishes and was delicious. The baths were great, but the women’s sauna temperature was low both at night and in the morning. I wish the lounge beer service hours had been extended a bit later into the evening.

Not what I expected.
The in-house activities after check-in, such as making tatami coasters and bookmarks, were very enjoyable. As for the meals, they were underwhelming. The burger shown in the center of the promotional photo was not available. The live stage was not very appealing either, and although the photo and description of the eel dish said it was paired with Narazuke pickles, there were no Narazuke on it. There were also few menu options—mostly shabu-shabu and roast beef—and I couldn’t find any other standalone meat dishes in particular. There weren’t any easy-to-eat options like sushi or pizza, and many of the dishes felt unfamiliar. Honestly, nothing really stood out. The kakinoha-zushi was also very thin; it felt about 5 mm thick. Since it’s a Nara specialty, I would have liked them to serve a normal-sized one. Someone who visits often strongly recommended it as being very good, so I went with high expectations and was very disappointed. Also, considering the size of the restaurant there were too many guests, and there were long lines throughout—it was exhausting to keep waiting. Breakfast felt similar; until around 8:30 it was extremely crowded. I tried warming up in the mist sauna in the bath area, but I actually started to feel cold instead. I had imagined using the rock bath shown in photos, but it seems that one is on the men’s side. I did appreciate having ReFa shower heads and hair dryers. Since there wasn’t anything particularly appealing overall, I don’t think I would return.

A large, traditional Hotel
Thank you for taking care of us during our Nara trip. At first I wondered if it might be a bit far from the city center, but the roads in Nara are well maintained, so it didn’t feel inconvenient at all. Even though it’s right by the station, the Hotel is spacious. I drove there, and it was very comfortable to be able to use the parking garage with direct underground access. It’s a classic large-scale Hotel that seems rarer these days. Since there were four of us, we made a Reservation for a large Room, and it was truly comfortable. The inside of the Hotel is also very clean. With the all-inclusive plan, you can drink as much alcohol as you like inside the Hotel—there was such a great selection that I honestly wondered if it was really okay! Personally, I was especially happy they had sparkling wine at an all-you-can-drink setup like this. We also had breakfast, and once again I thought, “Is it really okay to have this much?”—there was an amazing variety. All of the staff were wonderful and very attentive people. I believe anyone—people in all kinds of situations—can stay comfortably here. Maybe because of the location, I think the value for money is outstanding. If “Asuka-Fujiwara” becomes a World Heritage site in the future, we might not be able to stay at this price anymore (haha). Thank you very much.

Satisfied
The Room is spacious and relaxing. Both breakfast and dinner are delicious. High-quality ingredients are used. The price is reasonable, so I would like to stay again.

Breakfast features Nara’s local specialties.
The Nara-style simmered dish at breakfast had a gentle flavor and was delicious. During the lounge’s reading time, the background music was too loud, and I couldn’t read quietly. I expect a Hotel to be calm and peaceful. At the very least, please keep the atmosphere quiet during reading time.

The lounge was extremely disappointing...
Thank you very much for your hospitality. I stayed here looking forward to enjoying the azaleas on Mt. Katsuragi and visiting flower temples. I have used Mercure Awaji Island, Biwako, Zao, Urabandai, Munakata, and Wakayama more than 10 times in total. This was my first stay in Kashihara since the rebrand, so I am sharing my impressions while comparing it with other Mercure properties. - Both dinner and breakfast were very delicious! - I had requested a small-size yukata at the time of Reservation, so I appreciated that it was prepared in the Room. - The basket for bath items was convenient and easy to use, but for a triple Room I would have liked three baskets prepared from the start. - There were not enough washing stations in the large public bath, so there was a wait and I could not relax; it was also disappointing that there is no open-air bath. - The most disappointing part was the lounge on the 8th floor! I heard it had been renovated, so I went with high expectations... but the ceiling felt low and cramped, voices echoed loudly, seating was tight together, and it felt cluttered. It was the noisiest of all the Mercure lounges I have used—more like a shopping mall food court than a hotel lounge. In any case, group conversations were extremely loud and made me feel very uncomfortable. Some international guests left almost immediately. I understand it is a collaboration with MUJI and that the natural style may appeal to some people; however, it did not feel like a hotel lounge at all, which was disappointing. In a hotel lounge especially, I hope to enjoy an escape from everyday life.

All-inclusive?
I booked through a hotel reservation site under the “Breakfast Included, Lounge Access” Plan. As my stay date approached, I learned that an “All-Inclusive” Plan might be available, but I can’t find any way to make that Reservation on the official website. Why is that?

A Hotel with thoughtful touches throughout to make your stay more comfortable
We arrived before check-in, so we left our luggage in the free coin lockers next to the entrance and went out. It was also convenient for stopping back to drop off forgotten items or souvenirs. The Room was very spacious and comfortable with large windows. The evening sky toward Kashihara Shrine was beautiful, and we enjoyed it with the lights off. As a Diamond member benefit, we received two cute patterned mosquito-net dishcloths, so my friend and I could split them one each. They were light, adorable, and made perfect souvenirs—we were both delighted. The large public bath had a great selection of post-bath drinks, plus plenty of large sofas and relaxing chairs, so we could unwind while having a drink. However, there are only a few washing stations, so when it got crowded there was a line to wait for one, which was disappointing. This time we didn’t have time to use the lounge, so I’d like to try it next time. In the lobby there were appealing books and magazines about shrines and temples as well as Buddhist statues, which my calligrapher friend really enjoyed. We brought a few back to the Room to read. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Absolutely the best.
This was my fifth stay at a Mercure, and I’ve been very satisfied every time. Compared with the others, Kashihara’s dinner selection felt a little smaller, but everything was delicious. Breakfast had a wide variety, and I end up eating too much every time and my stomach hurts. I also really appreciated that the lounge after check-in used proper glasses instead of paper cups. All of the staff were extremely kind and helpful. Since it’s right in front of the station it can’t be helped, but it was disappointing that there is no open-air bath. The location is very convenient, and I would definitely like to visit again. I’m also looking forward to Toyama next!

The drinks and light snacks in the lounge were excellent. The large public bath was also great. I’d love to stay again if I have the chance!

The complimentary drink service was a nice touch.
The parking lot was narrow and difficult to enter. If a large vehicle was parked next to us, it was hard to get in, and the pillars sometimes made it difficult to get out. However, the welcome service was excellent, and the view of the greenery at Kashihara Shrine was wonderful. It is a Hotel I would like to visit again.

Conveniently located near the station.
Located near the station, with convenient bus access for sightseeing in Asuka available right in front of the Hotel. There is also a nearby curry restaurant offering great taste and value. The Hotel has a modern city-hotel style, clean Rooms, and a good Onsen.

We stayed here for a relaxing family trip during Golden Week. After finishing dinner and the bath, we were unwinding in our Room when we received a call asking, “What time will you arrive?” What? On top of that, even though payment had already been completed, we were asked, “How would you like to pay?” The pleasant atmosphere changed instantly. We expected an apology afterward, but there was none, and it ended up being a terrible trip. We were very disappointed.

A conveniently located Hotel just steps from the station
This was my first stay, and the Hotel is located right next to Kashiharajingu-mae Station, making it very convenient for sightseeing in Asuka and the surrounding area. The breakfast selection was extensive, and in the evening I also enjoyed complimentary drinks in the lounge. The staff’s service was excellent. One drawback is that because there are many guest rooms, the large public bath can get crowded during peak sightseeing seasons, making it difficult at times to wash and bathe at a relaxed pace. Since this stay coincided with Golden Week, I would like to check again on my next visit.

Thank you very much once again. Following our previous stay at Lake Biwa, we stayed here again. Above all, we were delighted to have access to the lounge. We were impressed by how generous this Hotel is. We also booked a plan with dinner and breakfast, and we were very satisfied as the meals were delicious. We would like to stay at Grand Mercure Hotels throughout The whole country. If we had more time, we would consider a Multiple Night Stay. Thank you very much.

It was great.
By streamlining staffing, the Rooms are spacious and quiet, with well-stocked amenities. There is also a wide selection of drinks. The buffet offers a good variety (the taste is average), so it seems enjoyable for everyone from seniors to children.

Your Accommodation in Nara is here!
The lounge has been renovated, and you can enjoy a relaxing time there while taking in the views of Nara. The food is delicious too—it's wonderful. The only thing is that the women’s sauna is dark and hard to see, and there are no showers, so I’d be happy if this could be considered during the next renovation. Alternatively, I’d love it if the women’s and men’s baths could be switched like they used to be. The men’s dry sauna and cold bath are excellent. I’ll definitely come again. Thank you very much.

What does “all-inclusive” mean?
Staying at this Hotel made me realize that “all-inclusive” offers no real benefit for guests who don’t drink alcohol. Given the reasonable price, I understand to some extent, but it was disappointing that the lounge offered only trivial, kid-like items. Considering the typical guest demographic, you wouldn’t stock things like ramune soda—those belong in a kids’ corner. Still, I can see why it’s done. The scramble for snacks in the lounge was intense (everyone fixated on kaki-no-tane), to the point I almost mistook them for visitors from a certain Country C. Or perhaps that day just happened to attract many guests who had never tried kaki-no-tane before? If you put out cheese, crackers, or sandwiches in front of those guests, no amount of restocking would keep up. Honestly, if you handed each guest a small snack gift at check-in and offered drinks only, the lounge might feel more refined. If you’re going to promote “all-inclusive” with such confidence and a big smile at that level of offering, I’d rather you didn’t. Drinks-only would have been far better. Alternatively, raise the price by about three times and provide something decent. This was completely different from the all-inclusive experiences I’ve had before—so I suppose it really is what you’d expect for the price. With this Hotel’s rate including breakfast and dinner for one night, true all-inclusive simply isn’t realistic. Breakfast and dinner were very good (though slightly salty). Desserts were plentiful, yet there was surprisingly little fruit. The international dishes were tasty too, but if possible I would have preferred local specialties from Osaka or Kyoto. The loungewear was so heavy that I couldn’t wear it. Hot water didn’t come out of the bathroom faucet. I was also surprised by how few items were sold in the shop. Do they have no intention of selling? Is it mainly aimed at inbound tourists? I couldn’t help thinking they should stock things that actually sell. I also disliked how dimly lit it was. The first-floor lobby hall is huge, yet there were very few staff at check-in—it actually made me laugh. Even at an official theme-park Hotel (“the dreamland”), it never took this long.

This was my 5th or 6...
This was my 5th or 6th stay. The lounge feels nicer and more spacious after the renovation. I only used it briefly, but it was very busy. The Room is spacious, with a sofa set, and I like the large windows. However, I was concerned about a tear in one of the chairs and that the bathroom sink area feels dated. It’s inconvenient that the large public bath shower temperature isn’t consistent—it suddenly gets hot or lukewarm... The yukata are stylish, but having only one size is terrible. I’d like at least around three sizes. If possible, I’d be happy to have pajama-style options as well. I was happy there was crab at dinner this time! It was small, but had plenty of meat. The beef shabu-shabu and kamameshi were also delicious! It was disappointing that the salt-grilled ayu from before is gone. A long time ago there were tantan ramen and udon as well, which were delicious too—I’d love to see them come back! I thought soba would be great too, but it had gone soggy, which was disappointing. The cream puffs are delicious—I love them! It would be nice to have a bit more fruit. With drinks as well, I ended up completely full. There were many breakfast options too. The salmon cutlet sandwich was delicious. The whitebait (shirasu), bamboo shoots, and potage soup were also very good. This time I could check in early with my Diamond benefits, so it was nice to relax—thank you very much. My Room was on the 8th floor as well, so it was easy to quickly go to the lounge. This trip was to celebrate our wedding anniversary and a birthday, and I mentioned it in the comments section just in case—but no one brought it up at all (lol). It’s my favorite Hotel, so I’ll visit again.

Great value for money.
The all-you-can-drink service in the lounge from 9:00 p.m. and the all-you-can-eat breakfast buffet were very good. It was disappointing that there was no free ice. The front desk staff seemed to be Chinese, but their Japanese was fine.

I enjoyed a carefree stay.
Two friendly senior couples enjoyed chatting and drinks in the lounge in the early evening, then headed to a nearby restaurant for dinner at their own pace—perfect. In the morning, we took our time with a luxurious breakfast in a spacious setting, without worrying about others and with no time limits, before setting off for relaxed sightseeing. An ideal base for exploring Asuka Village.

The breakfast was good, but
Breakfast was as good as other reviews said, but dinner was buffet-only. When I asked, I was told to eat at a nearby izakaya. In the end, I had to buy rice balls at a convenience store. Later I found out there are Coco’s and Hotto Motto nearby—I wish they had told me. The bath is an Onsen, so soap lathers extremely poorly. I would like this to be mentioned somewhere. Perhaps because there are no competing Hotels nearby, I was left dissatisfied with the staff service.

The meals were disappointing.
The Facility and services felt fine overall. On the third day, I returned to the Hotel to change Rooms and completed the procedure at the front desk, but it did not go smoothly and I felt a bit frustrated. It seemed to be handled by a new foreign staff member. Lastly, although the buffet offered many options, it was disappointing that most items were not easy for older guests to enjoy.

A bit disappointing.
I stayed for a Multiple Night Stay of three nights during cherry blossom season. I had stayed here before and chose this Accommodation again because the meals were delicious. I expected some repetition with a three-night stay, but the breakfast and dinner buffet offerings were exactly the same all three days. I have no complaints about the individual dishes, but by the third day there was honestly nothing left to choose from, which was very disappointing. There may not be many guests who stay multiple nights, but I hope this can be reconsidered. If the meal selection cannot be changed, I would appreciate it if you could inform guests in advance and offer options such as switching to a no-meals plan and providing vouchers that can be used at the shop instead. Also, I felt that the Onsen was quite dark, which concerned me.

The food was outstanding, and we were completely satisfied!
Both dinner and breakfast buffets were delicious—absolutely wonderful. My husband was thrilled and said, “Let’s go again.” Thank you very much! We arrived late, so we understood that the lounge would be available for about 30 minutes, but it was still great.
