    This Facility lets you fully enjoy Karuizawa in a lush, green setting! Above all, having breakfast in a private room feels like a truly luxurious moment. It’s packed with vegetables, generously portioned, and of course delicious. Next time, I’d love to try dinner as well.

    A cottage-style Accommodation in Karuizawa…

    We found you online and visited with great anticipation as a couple. Thank you for upgrading our Room. The stately furnishings had a lovely atmosphere, and my husband said he felt relaxed. However, when we opened the door and entered, there were no slippers, so we weren’t sure whether we were expected to keep our shoes on. Considering that we might place our luggage on the floor, we didn’t like that idea, so we looked around and ended up wearing the ones left on the balcony. The Room temperature was also uncomfortably cold. We were really looking forward to the meal. We weren’t seeking anything extravagant, nor were we expecting large portions or luxury ingredients. In a red-brick Hotel like yours, we had imagined an enjoyable dining experience with a beautiful table setting that would be pleasing to the eye as well. We also received a complimentary 1,000-yen drink voucher, but there was no time or suitable occasion to use it. We asked for champagne to be delivered to our Room; however, since we had already been drinking during dinner, we couldn’t finish it and ended up throwing it away in the morning. If we had been staying multiple nights, we might have been able to use it at some point. If dinner hadn’t been included in our plan, I think we could have used it at the restaurant downstairs. Since breakfast was also included for us, it felt like an unnecessary voucher. When I asked if it could be used at dinner, I was refused. If it had been usable at dinner, I believe we could have enjoyed the champagne properly. As this trip was for my husband’s birthday, we asked you to write a celebratory message on a cake and deliver it to our Room; however after dinner there wasn’t much chance for us to get excited about it, so we ate it in the morning. We love Karuizawa very much. We usually stay at a friend’s villa there; this time мы wanted to spend time just as two people and chose your Hotel instead. There seemed to be few staff members available overall, and even finding where to check in was difficult and confusing for us. Overall،we did not feel truly guest-first hospitality throughout our stay.

    A hideaway-like Hotel where you can relax in a quiet setting

    I stayed here in early June. Tucked away behind Karuizawa Suwa Shrine, the lush and quiet surroundings were truly soothing for both body and mind. The friendly staff and the warm welcome from the large bear in the lobby made me smile, and the clean, spacious Room was comfortable and relaxing, with thoughtful attention to detail including amenities. Breakfast featured delicious vegetables, with a choice of mains that felt nourishing and wholesome. I enjoyed it so much that next time I’d love to try dinner as well.

    A Cozy Space

    I stayed here with my mother on a mother-daughter trip. The location is very convenient, within walking distance of Kyu-Karuizawa Ginza. (If you try hard, Karuizawa Station is also within walking distance.) The Hotel is small, but the Room was spacious and clean. Because the wallpaper was a dark color, the Room felt a bit dim. However, it was wonderful to see green trees from the window. I was also happy that ReFa hair dryers and hair irons were provided. Despite the convenient location, it was quiet, and it felt like staying in a vacation home. This is a Hotel with great value for money. I would definitely like to visit again if I have the chance. Thank you very much.

    A Holiday in Karuizawa

    We stayed multiple nights in a Kitchen Suite. Just a few minutes’ walk to Kyu-Karuizawa Ginza. Perhaps because Suwa Shrine is right next door, it’s quiet, and when you open the window, the only sound is pleasant birdsong. The staff keep a comfortable distance—not too close, not too far—and you don’t need to leave your Room key when going out, so you can relax as if you were at home. The private family bath is also a must! Since we chose a Plan with no breakfast or dinner, the price was relatively reasonable. With a kitchen included, we enjoyed shopping at the supermarket and making full use of the oven and microwave. We stay here 4–5 times a year, and thanks to the location, pricing, and overall comfort, this Hotel has become an essential base for sightseeing, shopping, and leisure—one we’ll continue to rely on every year.

    A stylish, lovely, and relaxing Hotel

    Thank you for taking care of us on May 22. We were impressed first by the stylish exterior and interior, and also by the courteous service at the front desk. We booked a breakfast-only Plan, and the breakfast was outstanding: three main dishes to choose from, delicious bread and soup, a generous salad, and unlimited drinks—making for a wonderful morning. The only disappointing (and surprising) point was that there was no space that could be called a changing area. Outside the bathroom is the washbasin area, but there is no partition at all, and the entrance is right in front of it, so we felt embarrassed changing clothes before and after bathing. Even so, it remains a lovely Hotel, and we would like to stay again if we have another opportunity.

    It might take a bit of practice, but…

    It’s a great Hotel. The Room was spacious, and the food was delicious. (We chose a Plan with breakfast included, and had à la carte for dinner.) The staff were also very kind. This isn’t specific to this Hotel, but since it applies to Karuizawa in general, those used to 24-hour convenience stores should be aware. There are very few convenience stores or shops where you can buy things at night (pretty much only near the station). So it may be worth preparing in advance. Even so, it was a great Hotel. We stayed for one night this time, but next time we’d like to do a Multiple Night Stay.

    There was a big gap between what IKYU’s information led me to expect and the reality!

    It seems we mistakenly assumed this would be a calm, “Adults’ Hidden Retreat” based on the tagline and photos. We were greeted by a pair of large teddy bears—something not shown in the Hotel photos. They were in the main entrance, the lobby, and even on the balcony… already very different from what we expected. The amenities included L’OCCITANE products, and there were three popular ReFa hair dryer models. The bathtub was large, with a glass partition wall. Was the concept meant for young couples? There was also mismatched furniture in the Room that didn’t seem necessary. Worst of all was the humidifying air purifier. When we tried to use it, we saw mold in the water tank. The filter looked neither cleaned nor replaced, and it had terrible grime we didn’t want to see—beyond just mold. With no choice, to deal with dry air from the AC we ended up filling the bathtub with water and leaving the bathroom door open. We received two 1,000-yen tickets and weren’t very hungry after having light snacks. Based on a recommendation, we changed our plans and ate at the wine bar instead. We ordered their featured baked Camembert (shown with a large photo at the start of the menu). Even though we were their first customers, they told us they had run out of cheese—the main ingredient… We ordered three items including recommended dishes, but for the price it was disappointing. Alcohol may be their focus, but if you call it a bar serving food, light meals matter too. Breakfast followed in much the same way. It differed somewhat from what was shown in photos but tasted fine overall. However, for a “dining room known for delicious vegetables,” most of the large salad bowl was just sunny lettuce; fruit was only one eighth of an orange… Is that really worth 4,000 yen? We used IKYU this time as well, but I’ve never felt such a gap between expectations and reality before—hence this harsh review.

    Girls' Trip for Two

    The location is excellent, surrounded by greenery, making morning walks very pleasant. Both dinner and breakfast were highly satisfying. The cheesecake dessert was fluffy and incredibly delicious. It was also great that pajamas were provided instead of yukata. However, the sink in the Room we stayed in had poor drainage. I wish I had mentioned it to the staff before leaving.

    The smoothie served ...

    The smoothie served during breakfast was presented in a simple plastic cup, which was disappointing considering that other dishes and even the bread were served on charming plates. It made me wonder if there were no proper glasses available for smoothies.

    We had a great time.

    Upon arrival, it was a bit confusing to locate the check-in lobby due to the unique layout of the Hotel, but the Room was charming, spacious, and well-equipped with amenities. The ReFa hair and makeup tools were a delightful touch that my wife absolutely loved. The two private baths were also excellent. Above all, the meals were outstanding. We thoroughly enjoyed both the appetizers with an evening drink and the delicious breakfast.

    Standard Hotel

    The Hotel itself left a neutral impression. For dinner, I used the attached lounge, but the staff seemed to be working solo, making it a bit difficult to place orders. The food was unremarkable, and I would recommend exploring nearby restaurants for dinner instead. Overall, the number of staff seemed limited, which may have slightly affected the quality of service. It felt like many of the staff might be part-time workers. As long as you understand these points, staying here should not be an issue, but honestly, it is not a Hotel I would actively recommend to friends or family.

    Used after the wedding ceremony.

    We stayed here after having a wedding ceremony at another hotel. Our room was upgraded for free as there was availability, allowing us to stay in a better room than the one we had reserved. The facility included items like ReFa, which reduced our travel luggage and allowed us to use high-quality products—a double benefit. We visited the hotel's bar, and the food was delicious, leaving us very satisfied. The location is very convenient, being close to Kyu-Karuizawa Ginza Street, making it easy to get around. The private bath was also very clean and enjoyable.

    A lovely Hotel nestled in the forest with a great atmosphere. The Room was clean and well-maintained, making for a comfortable stay. Conveniently located within walking distance to Ginza Street. In the morning, I took an early walk to Kumoba Pond.

    Value for money is average.

    Stayed on the Saturday of a three-day weekend. Given the season, accommodations in the area were expensive, but this place was relatively affordable. The room was moderate, but there were no slippers upon arrival. The carpet had large stains that seemed to be partially covered with a rug, though not entirely hidden. After informing restaurant staff about the missing slippers, they provided them; however, combined with the dirty floor, it was hard to relax in the room. The private bath had a strong chlorine smell, leaving my body smelling like I had just been in a pool after bathing. It wasn’t relaxing at all. (The Onsen I visited at Hoshino Resort the next day was much better and made me think it might be worth visiting just for their Onsen instead.) Dinner didn’t match its price point and included some additional charges for certain items, which was disappointing. Personally, since there are many great restaurants nearby, staying with a "No Meals Included" plan might offer higher satisfaction. While staff service wasn’t bad overall, there were several negative points regarding facilities and management. Next time I visit this area, I’ll likely choose a higher-grade hotel instead.

    This was our second ...

    This was our second stay at the accommodation. We booked the attic garret room, but the roof's angle was steeper than expected, and as taller individuals, we kept bumping our heads. Additionally, being on the third floor without an elevator made carrying luggage a bit challenging, and due to our lack of regular exercise, we found ourselves out of breath and tired (sweat). Next time, we think a room on the second floor would be better. These were issues stemming from our own choices, so they are fine; however, what disappointed us most was the carpaccio with fresh shiitake mushrooms served at the first-floor restaurant. Last year was our first time trying it and we were deeply impressed; this year we were looking forward to it again. After eating it this time around, we even showed last year's photo to a staff member while sharing how much we'd enjoyed it previously. However, compared to last year’s dish—this time much smaller shiitake mushrooms were served. The thickness varied greatly too; some pieces were paper-thin... Despite being fresh shiitake mushrooms that should have had great texture and flavor—both aspects felt halved in quality here instead! There also seemed inconsistency within taste itself: some bites overly salty or strong-flavored whereas others lacked any seasoning altogether… Perhaps uneven thickness contributed towards such disparity? Regardless though—it left us genuinely disappointed overall especially considering its price point charged still remained same high level! Yet surprisingly enough—the staff initially recommended said dish as one among their top suggestions upon arrival dining there earlier evening itself?!     It is an atmospheric Hotel.

    I made a Reservation because the atmosphere seemed nice. On the day of my trip, I received a call asking about the dinner time for that evening. I would have appreciated being informed in advance that meal times would be confirmed by phone on the day (as it can be difficult to answer calls while traveling). At check-in, when I was asked about breakfast time for the next morning and gave my response, the staff mentioned in a somewhat curt manner, "At that time, it might be crowded and we may not be able to provide a private room." Additionally, when I asked about parking availability for the next day, their reply felt dismissive and surprised me. The Room was upgraded to a spacious one with great ambiance—it was lovely. The amenities were from L'Occitane and were excellent. Dinner featured delicious vegetables; dishes were served at just the right pace—not too fast or slow—and the staff who brought our meals showed exceptional attentiveness. My husband and I had an enjoyable time together. The private bath had two washing areas, felt clean, and allowed us to relax more than expected—it was wonderful. While this Hotel had a beautiful atmosphere surrounded by nature, considering its price point, I feel there might be other Hotels offering better service at this level of cost.

    We stayed for one night as a couple in August. Our Room was upgraded, and we were able to enjoy a comfortable stay in a spacious Room. The shower, hairdryer, and hair iron were all Refa products, offering excellent usability. We would love to stay again!

    I will never visit again.

    I stayed with a friend, and for 70,000 yen including room charge and breakfast/dinner, this was the worst hotel experience I've ever had. We were told we could reserve a private bath, but after dinner—which took over two hours due to slow service—we couldn't use it. While the menu allowed some choice of appetizers and desserts, as mentioned in reviews, you essentially have to pay extra fees to select anything decent. Considering the quality and quantity of the food, it felt overpriced. In the bath, when we filled it with water and tried to get in, there was an inexplicable amount of oil-like substance floating on top. Since it was past 10:00 PM and no staff were available at that time, we had no choice but to clean it ourselves; even then, there was still dirty oil floating around that made bathing impossible. The ventilation seemed poor as well—the bathroom smelled bad—and I felt very disappointed by the room quality and food for this price point. My friend and I had been looking forward to our trip to Karuizawa; while everything else about our trip was enjoyable outside of the hotel experience, unfortunately this hotel left us with unpleasant memories.     Longing House Hotel ...

    Longing House Hotel is a hidden gem in Karuizawa. Not far from the train station, you can enjoy a leisurely stroll through the trees to reach the hotel. A delightful surprise awaits at the front gate with two fluffy and adorable teddy bears welcoming guests. The staff are exceptionally hospitable and friendly during check-in. The room amenities are top-notch, ensuring a comfortable stay. The meals provided for dinner and breakfast are outstanding, especially with their fresh vegetables that stand out in taste. We look forward to returning when we have another opportunity to visit Karuizawa!

    A Wonderful Hotel for Complete Satisfaction

    I stayed at the end of July. The location is excellent, just a few minutes' walk to Karuizawa Ginza. Even with my back issues that prevent me from walking long distances, it was manageable. The hotel is a small hidden gem surrounded by quiet forests and parks. This time, my room was upgraded, and I received a coupon worth 1,000 yen per person which I used at the bar after dinner. Since the bar closes at 10 PM and dinner starts at 8 PM, the staff kindly adjusted my dinner time to 7:30 PM so I could enjoy champagne from the bar in my room afterward. The staff's service was exceptional. The food was delicious with generous portions! (The menu had three levels of portion sizes clearly indicated for easy selection.) Everything from the dishes to the bread was incredibly tasty, especially the vegetables which were truly impressive. Additionally, champagne seemed to be available for free during breakfast. The room and bathroom were spacious, clean, and comfortable. However, in my room's bathroom, the water heating system was broken so I had to fill up manually and restart it multiple times which was inconvenient (if you don't mind using manual filling or booking another bath option this might not be an issue). Also worth noting is that fixing loose showerhead holders would improve convenience further. Amenities included L'Occitane shampoo/conditioner/body soap/body milk but note facial cleansers or toners weren’t L'Occitane products! On hot days like when we visited air conditioning felt too strong making nights chilly; those sensitive should bring extra layers—I ended up sleeping wearing robes provided instead! Being retro-styled building means no elevators exist inside premises hence carrying large luggage yourself applies here too beware beforehand accordingly likewise opting No Meals Included plan visitors must know dining spots around Karuizawa Ginza often face long queues evenings-wise prepare ahead better avoid hassle altogether! Overall though atmosphere exudes quintessentially charming "Karuizawan" vibes alongside delectable meals morning/evening alike while conveniently exploring nearby attractions sans car stress-free—truly glad choosing such wonderful Hotel experience definitely looking forward returning someday soon again!

    It was excellent.

    Due to bus schedules, we walked from Karuizawa Station, but it didn’t feel too far, and the scenery was charming. The Hotel room was spacious with well-equipped amenities, and I was particularly pleased with the availability of a hair iron. The staff were kind and attentive in addressing various needs, which I greatly appreciated. Overall, it was a very satisfying trip. Thank you!

    The Best Karuizawa Accommodation

    I found this Hotel while searching for a place in Karuizawa and decided to make a Reservation. At first, I was worried because the location was a bit hard to find, but it turned out to be an amazing 2-night, 3-day stay. The Room was upgraded, and all the staff were friendly and welcoming with smiles. For dinner on both nights, I enjoyed dishes from the wine bar along with drinks in my Room; every dish was delicious. Breakfast was also satisfying with plenty of vegetables. I would love to stay here again, and it's conveniently close to Old Karuizawa—highly recommended!

    Happy Birthday!

    We stayed for one night with dinner and breakfast included to celebrate his birthday. Thank you so much for the wonderful time. When filling out the form at check-in, I mentioned that my companion was celebrating his birthday and wrote his name. To our surprise, there was a special dessert surprise during dinner! At the end of the course, a dessert plate appeared with "Happy Birthday ○○" written in chocolate pen and accompanied by sparklers, which made us cheer with excitement. I had a slight expectation that "maybe something might happen...?" but this exceeded all my expectations. The staff even took photos on our smartphone and offered to take Polaroid pictures as well, which we gladly accepted. It made us very happy—thank you to the staff who assisted us. The food was absolutely delicious; we even asked for more bread and left feeling full. For appetizers and main dishes, there were about six options each to choose from, with some requiring an additional charge (+300 yen–800 yen). While drinks at breakfast were self-service, it seemed that all drinks during dinner—including water—were charged separately, so please keep this in mind. The room provided matched exactly what we requested during reservation. Being on the first floor near the entrance meant occasional noise from outside conversations or sounds could be heard at times; however, I loved the interior design as it perfectly suited my taste. The L'Occitane amenities along with ReFa hairdryer and iron added a touch of luxury. One minor concern was spotting a yellow bee near the hotel entrance—it looked slightly intimidating. While this may be due to seasonal or locational factors beyond control, enhanced pest measures would provide greater peace of mind. Overall, it was an incredibly enjoyable stay filled with unforgettable memories on such an important day. Thank you for making our special occasion even more memorable!

    Spacious Rooms and Delicious Meals

    I stayed in a room with a kitchen, and the dinner and breakfast provided were delicious. The room was spacious and comfortable to stay in. The washbasin was quite large and clean, which made me happy. There were styling tools like ReFa irons, curling irons, and a hairdryer available, making it easy to groom myself. The kitchen also had a dishwasher, which was convenient for cleaning dishes before and after cooking. For dinner, there was a dish with walnut and miso sauce that was very tasty. The beef was incredibly tender and melted in my mouth—it was surprising! The vegetables and bread served the next morning were sweet and very delicious as well.
