A relaxing accommodation

I was finally able to stay at an Accommodation I had wanted to visit for a long time. The Room was wonderful. Although the view outside was completely white due to rain and fog, it was still very comfortable, and I could relax and enjoy the in-room Onsen at my leisure. The in-room dining was delicately prepared and delicious. The lounge also offered wine and coffee you can grind yourself with a mill, making it a great place to unwind. I also appreciated being able to take drinks back to the Room. That said, there were a few points that concerned me. First, when we arrived by car, a Shuttle Service vehicle was stopped there, leaving just enough space for large cars to barely pass each other. Although valet parking is provided, we waited several minutes for someone to greet us, and it felt like two cars behind us were getting stuck on the slope near the entrance. During check-in hours, I think it would be better to assign younger staff rather than elderly staff. It would be good to consider smoother operations. At check-in as well, I could sense that the attendants were flustered, which made it hard to feel settled. It gave me the impression that the system may not be well organized. Sorry for bringing up another brand as a comparison, but Hoshino Resorts offers consistent service quality at both Hoshinoya (expensive) and RISONARE (more affordable), likely because their systems and manuals are solid—so I think their approach could be helpful as a reference. One more point: my husband mentioned that he noticed an unpleasant smell in the men’s large public bath area. He also felt that having exposed piping there is not appropriate for a high-end Accommodation. There is a sauna, but it was disappointing that there were no chairs for cooling down afterward. It would also be nice if the sauna were hotter. Because this is such a good Accommodation, I shared some stricter feedback in hopes it will become even better—but it has definitely become one of the places I would love to return to.
