    Everything was excellent.

    The view from the Room was great and everything was very clean. The view from the large public bath was amazing, but the view from the Room's private bath was also excellent. Dinner was beautifully presented with flowers, allowing us to enjoy both its appearance and taste. The pairing of sake and wine was also delightful.

However, the coin laundry was slightly unsatisfactory, making it less suitable for long stays. There are only four machines for the number of rooms, so they are always in use. Since there is no fully automatic option, you have to wait again for a dryer to become available after washing finishes. It only accepts 100-yen coins, but the front desk is far away and there’s no change machine, which is inconvenient in this cashless era.

    An accommodation with excellent service.

    We stayed here for our wedding anniversary trip to Hakodate, and we were truly grateful for the unexpected services such as early check-in, room upgrade to a Junior Suite, complimentary "Gingetsu" dumplings, and sparkling wine during dinner. The Junior Suite was spacious with a bathtub and extremely comfortable. We also enjoyed the elegant coffee set that allowed us to grind Misuzu Coffee beans ourselves. The view from the Room included the sea and botanical garden, where we could even spot monkeys! We were looking forward to the Hotel buffet as well. There was such a wide variety of dishes that we couldn’t try everything, but my husband made his own seafood bowl with grated yam which was delicious. The salt ramen and tempura are also highly recommended. Breakfast offered plenty of seafood along with options like eggs benedict and pizza. Personally, I loved "Inca no Mezame" potatoes topped with butter and salted squid—it became my favorite dish. The bathing area was spacious enough, featuring an infinity bath where you could relax while using special towels provided for outdoor use—keeping you warm without catching a chill after bathing. Afterward, there’s a rest area where you can watch planes up close; flight schedules are displayed so you know when they’ll pass by (though not always exact). It was exciting to see them! All Hotel staff members were incredibly kind and courteous throughout our stay—it truly felt like staying here was the right choice. This trip became an unforgettable wedding anniversary experience!

    May not be ideal for a relaxing stay.

    The facility's security is excellent, but a room key is required to use the escalator just to access the room. We were looking forward to the meals, but kaiseki cuisine requires a prior reservation. Since there was no explanation during the reservation process, we reluctantly went to the buffet. With time slots set in 30-minute intervals, people kept flowing in, forming lines for food and making it difficult to navigate through the crowd to reach our seats—going back for seconds was nearly impossible. Due to the large number of people, we couldn't even try some of the dishes we wanted. The bathwater was also lukewarm.

    The Best Accommodation

    Stayed on 6/27 Hotel staff Cleanliness of the hotel Dinner as well Everything was excellent. This is my second time, and I will come again. The infinity bath always brings happiness no matter when I use it. Thank you so much. The only disappointment for the second time was not being able to eat the dumplings, I guess.

    New and very clean!

    The Room was clean, and having a separate bath and toilet was great! It was also nice to take off shoes before entering the Room. The breakfast buffet had plenty of seafood and was delicious.

    The Onsen was excellent.

    I stayed in a single room for one night with a plan that included dinner and breakfast. There were many types of dishes to enjoy, and making and eating the seafood bowl was the most delicious experience. The crab was a bit too salty. The Onsen offered a stunning view of the ocean, and although the sea breeze was strong, it felt refreshing. It was nice to have towels provided for privacy since the Onsen is visible from the hotel in front. It would be great if you could upgrade to more popular hairdryer models. I traveled by public transportation, and on weekends, buses from Hakodate Station to near the Hotel ran about once an hour during many time slots. In the morning or afternoon, there were shuttle buses that stopped at airports and tourist spots if timed right; I used one to visit Goryokaku Tower, which was very convenient. On my way back, I couldn’t match my schedule with a bus going directly to the airport, so I used Yukurajinja-mae bus stop (about 10 minutes on foot). The bus arrived about 10 minutes late, so it ended up taking nearly an hour from the Hotel; those without cars should allow extra time for travel just in case!

    Exclusive Benefits for Diamond Members!

    The perks included check-in and check-out at 1 PM and one complimentary drink with dinner. It was my first stay, so I had high expectations! Plus, I'm a Diamond member! What would it be like? Check-in! After 1 PM! Well, I made the reservation just two days ago, so there were plenty of rooms available. As expected, they said my room was upgraded! But honestly, if there are vacant rooms, they'd upgrade anyone regardless of being a Diamond member—that's normal... When I entered the room... shockingly it faced the mountain side! Wait—doesn't this hotel only have sea-facing rooms? Disappointing. Oh well, another reservation site had cheaper rates but I booked here expecting some benefits as a Diamond member—no such luck though. The public bath has great views and is very nice! As for dinner—the seafood is rumored to be amazing but... hmm? Breakfast in Hakodate is said to be incredible everywhere—I heard this place would also live up to that reputation but... hmm? Since it was my first time at this hotel... I didn't know better… Staying at a famous breakfast spot near the station and enjoying delicious local food nearby for dinner might have made for a more fulfilling Hakodate stay. Expecting too much from the meals here was my mistake… For detailed reviews on food maybe check Tabelog… writing about it here might get deleted…

    The Hotel was beauti...

    The Hotel was beautiful. Our Room was upgraded, making it spacious and very comfortable. The public bath had great water pressure in the showers, was relaxing with a nice view, and the outdoor bath provided towels to wrap around for comfort and warmth. We enjoyed the buffet for both dinner and breakfast, eating more than we should because it was so delicious. However, the limited number of buses from in front of the Hotel to Hakodate Station felt inconvenient. Overall, the staff were friendly, and we were extremely satisfied with our stay.

    The buffet was delicious.

    The dining area felt a bit crowded and busy, but I was very satisfied with the buffet selection for both breakfast and dinner. The infinity bath was excellent. It would be even better if there were a sauna. The shuttle bus stops for Trappistine Monastery and Hakodate Station were very close, which was very convenient. Check-in took a little time, but the staff's service was excellent.

    A one-night trip to ...

    A one-night trip to Hakodate was truly satisfying with the sea and lights. Although I grew up in Hakodate, it was my first time staying at an accommodation in Yunokawa Onsen. I was a bit concerned about sharing a room with my two adult sons and my mother nearing her seventies, but the spacious room allowed us to relax comfortably. The private toilet was also a great feature. Above all, the breakfast left us feeling fulfilled. My sons both commented that "the hotel was great" as their impression of the trip. We stayed in a sea-facing room, but I believe even mountain-side rooms would offer enjoyable views of nightscapes and colorful houses.

We stayed in a Junior Suite with an impressive view from the large sea-facing window. The room was spacious and comfortable, equipped with ample amenities. While staying as a family of four (two adults and two children), the main sofa bed served as the children's sleeping area, leaving only a two-seater lounge chair for adults to relax on. A single-seater sofa would have been appreciated for added comfort. The in-room drip coffee setup (electric kettle, manual grinder, dripper, individually packed Misuzu Coffee beans from Hakodate) was sophisticated and left a positive impression. During our stay in early April, we did not use air conditioning but found the room warm and dry at night, making it slightly uncomfortable to sleep. Utilizing the humidifying air purifier provided might have improved this experience. ○ Time Spent Inside the Hotel Despite being a new hotel, it offered a relaxed atmosphere where guests could move freely between their room, restaurant, or public bath while wearing loungewear provided by the accommodation—a very pleasant feature. The top-floor public bath had an open-air bath facing the sea with stunning views that made us want to soak endlessly. On the other hand, while private open-air baths on the same floor offered privacy due to their land-facing orientation; they lacked comparable views of those in public baths—leaving us uncertain about using them again next time. ○ Dining Experience Dinner at the first-floor restaurant featured high-quality kaiseki cuisine that allowed us to fully enjoy seafood dishes. For our elementary school-aged son’s meal tailored courses were prepared specifically suited towards children whereas buffet-style selections catered well enough even younger preschooler sibling ensuring satisfaction across all ages alike! Being multiple-night stays meant different course offerings second evening further enhancing overall dining experiences significantly thanks largely attentive service rendered by staff members who contributed greatly memorable trip moments cherished forevermore!     I’d rather keep it a secret.

    The infinity open-air bath, the variety of the buffet, the hospitality of the staff, and the cost performance make this accommodation arguably one of the best in Hakodate. Although we initially thought it was unlucky to coincide with a group tour during check-in and dinner time, they kindly separated individual guests from group guests for both service and floor arrangements. Thanks to this thoughtful consideration, we were able to enjoy a quiet and comfortable stay. This time, we chose a dinner-only plan. Since we arrived late, they arranged for us to check in after our meal. The restaurant staff were all attentive and considerate. The buffet dishes were high-quality; we thoroughly enjoyed crab and seafood delicacies. The butter-grilled scallops were juicy and sweet—I had plenty! The open-air bath was exceptional with its infinity pool design! The reclining bath area was slightly lukewarm, making it so relaxing that I could stay there forever! There was also an elevated tatami-mat area that added charm—overall, the outdoor bath experience was outstanding. In addition, the powder room had well-stocked skincare products with everything necessary provided perfectly for a pleasant experience. Even though there were overseas group guests in both dining areas and baths, everyone displayed excellent manners—my initial thoughts about being unlucky turned into gratitude towards them for visiting Japan. All staff members working here are wonderful; their warmth seems to resonate throughout the entire hotel atmosphere. This is such an amazing accommodation that I almost don’t want too many people knowing about it... Next time I visit, I hope to check in early enough to enjoy Gingetsusan’s dango (I couldn’t forget how delicious they were last time—I even rushed out next morning just to buy some!). I look forward to visiting again! Thank you very much!

    The name "Hewitt Res...

    The name "Hewitt Resort" stood out from the time of reserving, so I thought it was the hotel name. When I arrived at the hotel using my car's navigation system, I thought I had arrived at a different hotel and got lost. The view from the open-air bath was amazing, and I was very satisfied with the hotel's hospitality and meals. Thank you very much.

    The dining area is too small.

    I have stayed here several times in the past and had a great experience, so I decided to stay again. I was delighted with the room upgrade—thank you very much. The bath is excellent, but it might feel too lukewarm for those who prefer hotter baths. I even heard similar feedback from other guests while bathing. The dinner ingredients were fantastic; however, the table space was unusually narrow this time. Once finished with a dish, there was no space to place new food unless we called staff each time to clear the plates first. This seems like a critical flaw for a buffet-style meal where guests want to enjoy their favorite dishes at their own pace leisurely. Additionally, the tables were placed uncomfortably close together, making it hard to fully enjoy such wonderful food due to lack of privacy and space between diners. This issue never occurred during my previous stays here. When I mentioned this at reception later during another errand, a male staff member responded politely and apologized sincerely—I felt quite humbled by his response. Breakfast offered as much variety and deliciousness as dinner did, allowing me to relax and feel completely satisfied. I have another reservation at the end of this month; thank you in advance for your hospitality then!

    The meals, Facility, and service were all excellent.

    This was our first stay here. We chose the Family Room Twin on the ocean side, with a Plan that included a course dinner at Unpa and a breakfast buffet. After watching YouTube and reading Reviews, we came with high expectations for the meals, baths, and more. Since breakfast was buffet-style, we opted for the course dinner at Unpa. Dinner started with whole hairy crab sashimi, and the fresh fish sashimi was outstanding—especially the cod kelp-cured sashimi. The Japanese beef and sushi were all delicious, and we were completely satisfied with dishes that clearly reflected the care of the kitchen staff. We visited for my birthday but didn’t mention it to the Hotel in advance; it only came up in conversation during dinner. The staff member who assisted us remembered, and at breakfast the next morning we received a discount voucher as a birthday gift. I was truly happy to receive such wonderful service from a small conversation. The Onsen private family bath was very clean and relaxing. At checkout we asked them to arrange a taxi, and after it arrived they even saw us off— I was deeply impressed by their thorough service. The food was excellent with no corners cut, the baths and Facility were very clean, and above all, every staff member’s service was outstanding. This is an Accommodation I recommend beyond expectations. We’re already thinking about coming back again next year. We were able to spend a wonderful anniversary here. Thank you very much.

    It is a beautiful Hotel.

    First of all, I think it's a Hotel with a sense of cleanliness. Above all, the amenities are excellent. Yakult cosmetics are provided, and while other Hotels only give one toothbrush per person, there were plenty in the washroom. There were towels to wrap around your body at the entrance of the open-air bath, which I thought was very considerate. It's a thoughtful gesture to ensure privacy from the outside. The hairdryer was also of high quality, and my hair dried quickly and became shiny. The customer service attitude was good and I thought it was wonderful. The food was a buffet, but since breakfast and dinner felt the same, I thought it would be nice to have a little more variety.

    The dinner buffet was extremely satisfying.

    The Diamond Member benefit of being able to stay from 1:00 PM to 1:00 PM was absolutely fantastic. The moment you step into the entrance, a spacious and luxurious space unfolds before you. I was so impressed that I stepped back out and re-entered the entrance just to take a photo. The local Japanese sweets (dango) provided as a service were chewy and delicious. I stayed here for a live event at the arena, and they even arranged a taxi for me. On the way back, the taxi company mentioned that due to a shortage, they couldn’t take a Reservation, but the staff kindly noted down the phone numbers of three companies for me to call after the event. (In the end, I left the venue a bit early and managed to catch a taxi waiting right in front.) The Room was incredibly new and clean. The bath offers a stunning view of the ocean right in front of you (with two Hotels visible in the foreground). The view is excellent. The bath includes indoor and outdoor options, but since the water quality is the same, it would have been even better if there were more variety, like different types of baths, cold baths, or saunas. Because of this, I’d rate it three stars. The dinner buffet was extremely lively. I read in a Review that the tables are so close together that items might fly off due to the wind pressure when someone stands up, but I didn’t experience anything like that. Since I was dining alone, the two-person table was perfect for me, but for two people sharing a two-person table, it might feel a bit small. However, the staff promptly cleared away finished dishes, which was a plus. The variety of seafood at dinner is currently No. 1 in Hakodate. There were types I hadn’t seen at other Hotels. Additionally, there were Western dishes like gratin, curry, ramen, salad, mini hot dogs, and a variety of desserts. While I wanted to enjoy seafood, having Western options was a relief as I tend to get tired of seafood if it’s continuous. The dinner quality honestly exceeded my expectations. (Especially considering the difference between the breakfast-only Plan and the breakfast-and-dinner Plan is just 2,000 yen.) I intended to enjoy the breakfast buffet as well, but since I’m not a morning person, I skipped it and opted for a leisurely morning bath instead. So, I didn’t get to see the breakfast. However, having a hearty dinner buffet and a relaxed morning suited me perfectly as someone who struggles with early mornings. The bath is available until 11:00 AM, so I was able to take my time.

    I would like to repeat my stay.

    We enjoyed a very beautiful view of the sea from our sea-side Room. The staff provided detailed explanations, and we were informed of all the membership benefits without any omissions, which was a stark contrast to the other Property we stayed at the previous day. Apart from the slightly narrow entrance to the Room and the buffet venue, we were very satisfied. The buffet venue was crowded and a bit chaotic, so perhaps having a leaflet with a layout map of the venue could help guests understand the arrangement in advance.

    Not bad, but I expected too much.

    The building and room were clean. The welcome drink, corn tea, was very delicious. As for the meals, I had high expectations after watching YouTube and reading various reviews, but there was not much difference compared to nearby hotels in a slightly lower price range, and there are better buffets in the same price range. It was disappointing that the onsen in the morning had a low amount of water in the open-air bath and was not infinity.

    Hakodate Family Trip

    The room was very clean, beautiful, and spacious, comfortable for four people. As it is a hotel in Yunokawa Onsen, the quality of the spring was pleasant, and the open-air bath in the large public bath was especially the best, with the Tsugaru Strait right in front of the open-air bath, making it a bath where you would want to soak leisurely for hours while listening to the sound of the waves. It was nice to see the sunrise from the left side in the morning. The buffet had a wide variety of dishes and was very good, but since it was a long weekend, there were a bit too many guests, and the dining area was extremely crowded, which was a bit disappointing as it was not relaxing. Other than that, everything was excellent, and the access to tourist spots was also very good.

    This is a highly satisfying Stays.

    Thank you for taking care of us during our birthday trip. We appreciate the room upgrade, the message, and other thoughtful gestures. The room was spacious with a wonderful view of the sea and the monkeys in the tropical botanical garden. The meals were as reputed, with a wide variety and delicious. Plus, you can enjoy wine from the morning. The onsen offers a luxurious time with an infinity view of the Tsugaru Strait. The front desk staff provided pleasant service. Everything was very satisfying. We have made a reservation for two nights in January as we really want to stay again. We are looking forward to it. Thank you again.

    About Meals

    I made a reservation at this hotel looking forward to the meals, but the salmon roe and tuna were disappointing. The salmon roe was only 2 to 3 millimeters, smaller than the grains of sujiko. It's terrible! It was completely different from what I saw on YouTube, and the crab was also poor. No wonder there are few Japanese guests.

    Please note for those with a preference for luxury.

    1. Despite the outside temperature being below freezing (-3 to 6 degrees), the heating did not work from midnight to morning. As a result, the whole family caught a cold. 2. I was also concerned about the crowding during the dinner time reserved by time slot. There were too many people, and we couldn't enjoy our meal in peace. 3. Since I made the reservation through IKYU.com, I was told that "receipts and breakdowns of accommodation fees" would not be issued. I also couldn't get a receipt for the Hot Spring Tax. In past properties, they would issue a receipt with a breakdown as a pre-payment slip for the credit card. In short, those with a preference for luxury should be cautious.

    Other parts are ruined...

    The staff at the lobby were wonderful. Although I felt they might not have been Japanese, they spoke very polite Japanese and their sincere service made the check-in process pleasant. The dumplings we received at check-in were also very delicious. The room was clean, and the bath had very good water, allowing us to relax comfortably. However, the dining staff were the worst. The seating was cramped, and we couldn't enjoy our meal leisurely within the 90-minute time limit. Even though there were other available seats, our request to be guided to them was refused, and since it was cramped, we wanted the empty dishes to be cleared, but they wouldn't do so unless called. Despite being busy and bustling back and forth, I wonder what they were looking at. We were guided to an even narrower place for breakfast. Even though there were other available seats, they didn't guide us at all when asked, and furthermore, the sign indicating we were eating disappeared from the table, and when I checked, I was met with a very displeased expression, which ruined my mood from the morning. Frankly speaking, it was a very unpleasant experience. Perhaps due to the staff's attitude, the food didn't taste good. I was very disappointed as I expected the food to be delicious. Although there was a 90-minute limit for meals, it wasn't particularly checked. Even though there were available seats, not being guided to them might have been related to the staff's cleaning duties, but it left a very bad impression. Their manner of speaking was also very rude. I hope the dining service can be improved. It's very disappointing, considering the wonderful front staff, facility, and Onsen.

    It was a very wonderful hotel. Despite the reasonable price, the breakfast was the most luxurious and wonderful among the hotels I have stayed at so far.

    The view is amazing.

    The Room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. The private open-air bath was also nice. The best part was the view from the Room, which was truly amazing. The sea stretched out beyond the window, and it was very enjoyable to see the monkeys in the tropical botanical garden in front of the Hotel.

    The breakfast and dinner buffet is not very impressive.

    Stayed in a room with an ocean view on the 8th floor. The room was spacious, allowing us to spread out souvenirs and luggage, which was nice. There was also a separate towel rack, which was convenient. We chose a buffet plan with dinner and breakfast included, but it was one of the top three worst experiences we've had. Many of the dinner menu items were rearranged and served again the next morning (overlapping between dinner and breakfast), and the defrosting of frozen fruits was poorly done, with the mandarins being crunchy and the pink grapefruit dry and lacking moisture... It would have been better not to include meals... The onsen temperature was lukewarm, allowing for a leisurely soak.
