    Spectacular Views of the Tsugaru Strait

    Enjoy breathtaking views of the Tsugaru Strait from both the open-air bath and your Room! Since the sea is pitch-dark at night, we recommend using the open-air bath in the evening or early morning. The dining area can get a bit crowded due to the number of guests, but the food was delicious!

    Perfect for three generations staying together during the Obon holiday.

    Although we’re from elsewhere in Hokkaido, the meals felt truly Hokkaido-style, and above all, the view from the open-air bath was amazing—an Accommodation I’d highly recommend to tourists as well. We booked two Rooms to celebrate an anniversary, and the family Room had an ocean view with a wonderful scene right from the window. The space was more than sufficient, and the windows can be opened within a safe range, so we could ventilate and feel at ease. Most importantly, we were happy that the Onsen floors are made of a non-slip material, so our small children and parents could spend time safely. We’ve visited many Onsens before, but this had by far the least slippery floors. Worrying about our child slipping was quite stressful for us, so this was a huge plus. Seeing the vast sea and sky from the open-air bath also moved our kids—they were truly impressed. The dining area was busy, but we were still able to enjoy our meal at a relaxed pace. Many Japanese staff members were working there—were there any foreign staff at all? In any case, I want to support companies that employ Japanese people and local residents. It was also lovely to learn that the Hotel emblem was calligraphed by Shoko Kanazawa. We will definitely stay again. Thank you very much.

    Great hot springs and outstanding meals!

    We stayed here for a family trip with relatives. It’s conveniently located right in front of the highway bus stop. It’s a bit far from central Hakodate, but it’s only about 15 minutes by bus. The Room was nice, and the seafood meals were especially outstanding—our older relatives were delighted. The bath had wonderful water and we really enjoyed it; they said they would definitely like to stay again. We felt it was the perfect place to relax and recover from fatigue. Thank you very much.

    Family Trip

    I reserved two Rooms under the Standard Plan with dinner and breakfast included, but in both Rooms there were handprints on the mirror, someone’s contact lens on the floor, and what looked like crumbs or snack pieces. It made me question whether the Rooms had been properly cleaned. Also, even at our reserved dinner time we were kept waiting due to crowding. I understand it’s a buffet and can get busy, but it felt like having a time Reservation didn’t mean much. That said, all of the staff were very kind and helpful, so I hope things continue to improve.

    I was very satisfied.

    This was my first stay. The lobby has an open, Japanese-inspired atmosphere, and from the clean Room I had a panoramic view of the Tsugaru Strait, allowing me to enjoy a fulfilling break away from everyday life. The infinity open-air bath on the 12th floor felt even more spacious than I expected, and there was also a reclining bath, so I could truly relax. The water temperature was just right, while the indoor bath was slightly hotter. From the 12th-floor relaxation area, watching planes land at Hakodate Airport was also spectacular. I had been really looking forward to dinner as well: it focused on seafood, with all-you-can-eat options ranging from sushi to seafood bowls and even snow crab, and I left completely full. Breakfast also centered on Hakodate’s famous seafood bowl, with a wide variety of toppings. This Accommodation met my expectations. One small point was that it would have been better if the front desk staff spoke Japanese a bit more fluently.

    We thoroughly enjoyed our stay with our 3-year-old child.

    The moment we entered the Room, we were surprised at how spacious it was. We stayed with our 3-year-old son, and he looked so happy and kept running around the Room. We also went to the large public bath three times. The open-air bath had a great view and was wonderful. The meals offered plenty of seafood, and the adults were very satisfied. However, for my son who cannot eat raw seafood, there were not many options to choose from. The walkway through the restaurant was narrow, so it felt like we had to be careful when passing by others. It was also inconvenient that we had to go get alcoholic drinks ourselves, so I gave up on drinking. Aside from these two points—meals for young children and alcohol—we were very satisfied overall. We would like to stay again.

    It was a wonderful Hotel.

    This was the nicest Hotel we stayed at during our trip to Hakodate. We felt the warmth of the staff. We also received a welcome gift, and the hospitality was excellent. We will definitely stay again.

    I was fully satisfie...

    I was fully satisfied considering the great price I got through a sale and the Diamond member benefits. The Room was spacious and clean, and all the staff were efficient and pleasant. The bath is also relaxing, with an ocean view. It’s a bit disappointing that it isn’t a perfect infinity view because there is a Hotel right in front, but given the reasonable price, I can’t really complain. Breakfast and dinner (buffet) were also satisfying as long as you don’t expect too much seafood. However, at check-in, I overheard a staff member telling a woman checking in next to me—loud enough for me to hear—“We’ve upgraded you to a twin!” She looked very happy. I had originally made a Reservation for single use of a twin Room, so I thought I might be assigned to an upper floor with a better view, but I ended up on a very low floor with more of a road view than an ocean view… It made me feel kind of sad… I think it would have felt less disappointing if upgrades were communicated more quietly!

    The view from the room is amazing!

    You can enjoy a panoramic view of the Tsugaru Strait from the Room. As it was sunny, we could clearly see Oma and Tachimachi Cape. The Room is spacious, new, and comfortable. The Onsen also has an infinity design, making it very relaxing. The buffet offered a wide variety of dishes, all high quality and delicious. It’s an Accommodation that makes you want to come back again.

    Overall very satisfied, but the check-in process needs improvement.

    We stayed for a Multiple Night Stay. The view from the large public bath was wonderful, and everything was kept very clean. We only had breakfast, but as it’s said to be among the best in highly competitive Hakodate, the variety was incredible—almost to the point of wondering if this price is really sustainable. The Room was spacious and spotless, and the amenities were more than sufficient. With easy access from the airport and convenient transportation to sightseeing spots, I think it’s a great Hotel where anyone can stay with peace of mind—unless you are particular about Onsen water quality or prefer not to have a buffet-style meal. That said, check-in took quite a long time (perhaps unavoidable due to all the explanations and rules), so I hope systems like handwritten paperwork will be improved in the future. Thank you for taking care of us.

    It was excellent.

    The open-air bath, meals, and Room were excellent. The infinity open-air bath in particular was outstanding—straight ahead you can see the sea and horizon, and to the right is Mt. Hakodate, with a truly spectacular view. We were upgraded to a spacious twin Room on the ocean side, which we really appreciated. The Room was also very clean and comfortable. For dining, there were said to be 150 items at dinner and 140 at breakfast, with plenty of choices. There were so many desserts that even after two nights we couldn’t try everything. One slightly disappointing point was that the seating in the buffet restaurant felt cramped, so it wasn’t very relaxing during meals. We also felt uncomfortable because cleaning spray used while clearing nearby tables seemed like it could drift toward diners. We think it would be better to increase the spacing between seats and consider timed seatings or a rotation system so guests can dine more comfortably.

    A regular Accommodation in Hokkaido

    We’re a family that loves Hokkaido. Since we’re not comfortable flying, we travel to Hokkaido by JR at least twice a year. We usually stay about four nights, changing Hotels every day to enjoy Onsen and great food. We’ve visited most of the recommended Hotels in Hakodate and Yunokawa. We stayed at Hakodate Yunokawa Onsen Umi to Akari soon after it opened and absolutely loved it—now it has become our regular Accommodation. My husband, who loves scallops, always looks forward to the grilled scallops, and my daughter comes home refreshed every time after soaking in the ocean-view open-air bath. Especially on summer nights, the moonlight reflects on the vast sea in front of the open-air bath, shimmering with the waves—it feels truly magical. As for me, I always look forward to the ice cream at dinner here—especially the sweet red bean flavor—which is hands down my all-time number one. The Hotel’s service and staff are outstanding as well. I hadn’t posted many Reviews because I wanted to keep this place a secret, but I wanted to express my gratitude. Congratulations on your 5th anniversary!

    I stayed for one night for business in Hakodate. From the parking lot on arrival to the front desk and the lounge by the large public bath, all staff were courteous and welcoming with warm smiles, which made my stay very pleasant. I used a Double Room as a solo guest; it was compact yet well designed and functional, easy to use, and with shoes-off style I could relax comfortably. The large public bath lived up to its reputation with great views; while not very large, it offered a good variety of baths and was more than enough to enjoy while soothing travel fatigue. This time I booked a Plan that included only buffet-style breakfast. The menu featured unique items not often seen at other Hotels—such as pizza, panini, and eggs Benedict—which was fun. On the other hand, although there were options like seafood rice bowls that you would expect in Hakodate, unfortunately I did not feel the seafood quality was particularly good. There were also few Japanese side-dish options, so it may feel a bit lacking for those who prefer Japanese cuisine. They try to reduce crowding by having guests choose a preferred time in advance and setting time limits, but perhaps due to the table layout there were moments when people passing through brushed against tables, and it often felt difficult to move around when picking up food; I ended up finishing my meal without ever feeling fully settled. Since dining is one of the pleasures of staying at a Hotel this was somewhat disappointing; however overall I had a comfortable stay and left satisfied.

    I was completely sat...

    I was completely satisfied again. The room was spacious, clean, and excellent. Breakfast offered a wide variety of dishes, and the fresh sashimi and jingisukan were delicious. You can also see Mt. Hakodate from the open-air bath, so I enjoyed the view as well. It was a Hotel I want to stay at again and again.

    The bath, the food, and even the flight were all excellent.

    Thank you very much for your hospitality. The view from the bath and the sound of the waves, the impressive airplanes we could see twice from our Room, and the highly satisfying dinner were all wonderful. Of course, the seafood was excellent, but the seasonal green asparagus tempura was outstanding. We would love to stay again in a different season. Thank you very much.

    The ocean view from ...

    The ocean view from the Room was wonderful. It was my first time staying at a pre-paid Hotel, so I was surprised at first, but it was convenient because I could check out quickly as long as I didn’t request anything that required an additional charge. All of the staff were very kind and responsive, which made me happy. Since I checked in late, there weren’t many dinner time slots left to choose from, and because we entered near the last seating time, it did feel like mostly what was left—though considering food waste, that may be unavoidable. I would have been happy if there were cherry tomatoes in the salad. The bath is on the top floor with a great view, and the water temperature was comfortable enough to stay in for a long time. Overall I was satisfied, so 4 stars.

    Your First Yukawa Onsen

    The service was excellent, the Room was clean and easy to use, and the bath offered a wonderful panoramic view of the ocean. However, I was disappointed with the dinner buffet—the space was cramped and felt hectic like a shopping mall food court. I would like to see improvements so guests can dine more comfortably.

    It felt more cluttered than I expected.

    I made a Reservation looking forward to the meals and the infinity open-air bath. The bath was more relaxing than I expected, and I was satisfied. However, the dining area felt crowded, and there were fewer seafood options than I expected, so unfortunately I was not satisfied. The seafood rice bowl at the morning market in front of the station was much more satisfying.

    The service and the food were both great.

    Upon arrival, perhaps because I am an IKYU Diamond member, our Room was upgraded. It was more spacious than expected and very relaxing, and my friend traveling with me was delighted as well. The breakfast and dinner buffets also lived up to their reputation—between the all-you-can-top salmon roe and the wide variety of seafood and other dishes, it was impossible to try everything. That said, at dinner on the second night, the guests at the next table had been drinking and were so loud that I could barely hear my conversation with my friend. I understand that many guests use the dining area, but I would appreciate a bit more space between tables or some consideration in such situations. Overall, the Facility—including the Onsen—was very clean, and everyone at the front desk and throughout the Hotel was exceptionally kind. Even after returning home from our trip, I already miss your Hotel. Next time, I hope to visit again with my family. Thank you very much for your hospitality.

    The meals are excellent!

    Choosing this Hotel for my first trip to Hakodate was truly the right decision. The bath was wonderful—I could relax while looking out at the sea, and the amenities such as skincare lotion were well stocked. Best of all, both breakfast and dinner were outstanding! There’s no need to go to the Hakodate Morning Market. You can enjoy all of Hakodate’s delicious specialties at dinner here. I would definitely like to stay again. Thank you very much for a truly enjoyable time.

    The seafood was tasty, but the crab was thin and not very good. There were also many large groups, and the dining area was very crowded, so it wasn’t a relaxing atmosphere for a meal. Considering the price, I wouldn’t go again.

    This was my first st...

    This was my first stay, and I was very satisfied. I requested a high floor when making the Reservation, and I truly appreciated being able to stay in an ocean-side room on the 10th floor. The room, service, and Facility were all excellent—especially the infinity open-air bath, which offered a wonderful view and was very relaxing. The location is also convenient, within 10 minutes by bus from the airport. I would like to stay again.

    This is my favorite Hotel.

    I stay here almost every month! For hospital visits or car inspections, I book a 2-night stay at least once a year. I always make a Reservation for the cheapest double Room, but I’ve never actually stayed in one—I've always been given a twin Room all to myself. This time, when I reserved a twin Room, it was the same as last time: a family room. From parfaits in the morning to crab and ramen at night—above all, the wide variety of seafood keeps me coming back again and again.

    A Hotel known for its great meals and affordable prices

    We stayed for two nights (Sunday and Monday). (Negatives) - We were kept waiting for 40 minutes at check-in, standing in the lobby. - The buffet was extremely crowded, and the tables were very close together—like a Hong Kong food court—so it’s not suitable for anyone who wants a relaxed meal. The food was delicious and the staff were great, which made this especially disappointing. - The location is a bit inconvenient for sightseeing; buses are very limited, so getting around basically requires taxis. (Positives) - Aside from the negatives above, it’s great value for money. - The buffet selection is excellent and delicious. - Housekeeping and other service staff are wonderful. - The Onsen is also excellent! I really hope they can improve the dining area environment.

    We stayed here as a family.

    Close to the airport, and every Facility was clean and comfortable. The buffet doesn’t have a huge variety at either breakfast or dinner, but the seafood selection is excellent. I saw a Review saying the tables were too close together, but in the areas where they are close, partitions were set up, so it was fine. The baths were very clean—perhaps because they are cleaned frequently. The water temperature was also good. Note: You have to bring towels from your Room to the baths. If you want to go in 2–3 times, you’ll end up using a wet towel. You could probably ask the front desk for extra towels, but since the towel system directly affects impressions of a Hotel, this was disappointing. Also, you can borrow a jacket to wear over your yukata, but it smelled very bad. Overall, considering the meals and Facilities, it’s great value for money and I was satisfied. Thank you very much.

    Enjoy your stay.

    It was our first stay in a while. We were pleasantly surprised with a complimentary upgrade. The room was spacious and spotless, and we were able to relax. For us, who come to enjoy the meals and the Onsen, it was very satisfying. We’re looking forward to visiting again.

    Enjoy Diamond Member Benefits

    Being able to check in at 1:00 PM was convenient for remote work. I was looking forward to the infinity Onsen, but the view felt a bit run-down and wasn’t very impressive. I really enjoyed the breakfast and dinner buffets. The one complimentary drink included with the Diamond member benefits was appreciated.

    I’d love to stay here again!

    This was my first stay. The Room layout was excellent (the bath and toilet are separate, and the washbasin area is spacious), so I was able to relax. Breakfast was also delicious—I ate too much, but there were still so many more dishes I wanted to try! I would definitely like to stay again, and I would recommend it to friends as well!

    Both dinner and breakfast are far too crowded.

    Even though dinner has a time limit, there was a long line just to order alcohol, which wasted time. I think the way alcohol is served should be improved. Also, there were sweets placed next to the alcohol service area, but they were set too high for small children to see. The food was delicious, but the presentation and layout could be better. It’s a shame because the baths were wonderful and the Room was clean and comfortable. Please improve this before my next visit!
