    Enjoy your stay.

    It was our first stay in a while. We were pleasantly surprised with a complimentary upgrade. The room was spacious and spotless, and we were able to relax. For us, who come to enjoy the meals and the Onsen, it was very satisfying. We’re looking forward to visiting again.

    Enjoy Diamond Member Benefits

    Being able to check in at 1:00 PM was convenient for remote work. I was looking forward to the infinity Onsen, but the view felt a bit run-down and wasn’t very impressive. I really enjoyed the breakfast and dinner buffets. The one complimentary drink included with the Diamond member benefits was appreciated.

    I’d love to stay here again!

    This was my first stay. The Room layout was excellent (the bath and toilet are separate, and the washbasin area is spacious), so I was able to relax. Breakfast was also delicious—I ate too much, but there were still so many more dishes I wanted to try! I would definitely like to stay again, and I would recommend it to friends as well!

    Both dinner and breakfast are far too crowded.

    Even though dinner has a time limit, there was a long line just to order alcohol, which wasted time. I think the way alcohol is served should be improved. Also, there were sweets placed next to the alcohol service area, but they were set too high for small children to see. The food was delicious, but the presentation and layout could be better. It’s a shame because the baths were wonderful and the Room was clean and comfortable. Please improve this before my next visit!

    We had a very relaxing stay.

    We stayed to celebrate our son’s discharge from the hospital. We are truly grateful for the kindness of the Hotel staff. The meals, baths, Room, and all services were excellent. We would love to stay again.

    The Hotel is very clean and well-maintained, and highly recommended.

    I stayed with my daughter, and the Room, lobby, restaurant, and bath were all clean and well maintained, making it very comfortable. The meals included plenty of seafood, and we were able to eat our fill. From the Room, we could enjoy views of the Tsugaru Strait and even see monkeys soaking in the Onsen. Next time, I’d like to bring my son and husband as well.

    Very comfortable!

    I stayed for a Multiple Night Stay for work! Since I’m not good with seafood, meals were the hardest part, but the staff were kind and I had a comfortable stay every day. The Room cleaning was so thorough it didn’t feel like an eco-friendly plan at all, and I was very satisfied. Thank you very much.

    When I asked about the fireworks at check-in, the staff couldn’t answer right away and it seemed like it would take some time, so I gave up. If there is a sign posted in front of the front desk, I think you should be able to provide a simple explanation. Because of that, check-in was delayed. The Room was upgraded from our original one, and we really enjoyed plenty of seafood for dinner. I’d like to stay again when things have settled down, but next time I hope check-in will go more smoothly.

    Checked out with great satisfaction.

    I knew about receiving the Gingetsu dumplings at check-in, but I was touched to receive drink vouchers for four people because I'm a Diamond Member on IKYU.com! Although I was told that checkout could be extended from 11 AM to 1 PM, I had plans and couldn't take advantage of it (laughs). This is my favorite hotel that I've used many times! I'll definitely use IKYU.com again for my next reservation!

    Solo Trip: 4 Days, 3 Nights

    Solo trip, 3 nights and 4 days. First time in Hakodate, Hokkaido. I had reserved a hotel near Goryokaku six months ago, but a month before the trip, I happened to find this Hotel Umi to Akari and decided to change the reservation. It was absolutely the right decision. The open-air bath was amazing, and they gave me a high-floor room with an ocean view. I could always enjoy the view of Tsugaru Strait, and there was even a tropical botanical garden in front of the hotel where I could see monkeys from my room. The facility was very satisfying overall. If I had to point out one downside, it would be that one male staff member at the reception seemed a bit cold—like he was just doing routine work without much warmth or friendliness. A little more smile would have been nice. For meals, I only added breakfast—and it was luxurious! Unlimited salmon roe and sparkling wine in the morning! However, if there's another downside: seating arrangements were too cramped with narrow spaces between tables. Passing by other guests or staff required extra caution. On my last day, someone even placed their tray full of food on my table by mistake—it left me waiting for quite some time while they sorted things out with staff who struggled to navigate through the crowded space quickly due to how packed it was. Warm dishes got cold during this confusion as well... It made me think that such close table arrangements might lead others into similar mix-ups. Well... maybe that's just part of travel memories now! Other than that experience though—I’d love to come back again!

    The room was elegant...

    The room was elegant and spacious, and the Onsen offered a breathtaking view, providing a truly relaxing experience. Above all, the meals were exceptional; the dinner buffet was so delicious that it left a lasting impression. However, as this is a popular Hotel, the elevators were always crowded and difficult to use, which was slightly disappointing. Other than that, everything else was perfect! I would love to stay at this Hotel again!

    The rice was disappointing.

    The seafood is amazing, as expected from Hakodate! A wide variety and so much to enjoy—truly a delight! I chose this accommodation for the all-you-can-eat crab, but one of the two types of crab (snow crab) was way too salty... However, the other type made up for it, so that was good! The real issue was the rice... I've stayed at various accommodations in Hokkaido, but I've never had rice this bad! When I opened the lid at the buffet, there was no steam rising; it was dry and crumbly. Even when making an original seafood bowl, it significantly reduced its deliciousness. Truly disappointing. The front desk staff during check-in were very professional and friendly, and the room was clean with many great aspects overall. It's just such a shame about that one point—it left me feeling sad.

    Good value for money.

    The location of the Room, cleanliness, and meal options, especially dishes including horsehair crab and sashimi, were satisfying at a reasonable price. The bath was also enjoyable!

    I visit regularly.

    I regularly visit for meals and coffee. Once again, I was very satisfied with the food. The quality continues to improve as you gradually adjust the service, performance, and menu. I am truly impressed by the dedication of your staff in adapting to these changes. However, this time, the taste of the coffee was different, which was disappointing. I hope it returns to its original flavor soon.

    Relax and unwind with the stunning views at our seaside Hotel.

    I enjoyed a Multiple Night Stay looking forward to the seafood buffet breakfast. Upon entering, there was a spacious and stylish lobby that felt very open. At breakfast, I could eat as much of my favorite seafood as I wanted, which was very satisfying. The corn dressing was also delicious and memorable! The large public bath offered an ocean view, creating a very open and relaxing atmosphere.

    Excellent!

    The Room, bath, meals, and location were all excellent! The Room was spacious, the open-air bath had a stunning view, and the meals, both dinner and breakfast, were luxurious and impressive! Our plans suddenly changed from Lake Toya to Hakodate, and we hurriedly made arrangements, but it turned out to be a perfect choice! I would love to stay here again and have already started recommending it to others!

    Relax in the panoramic bath

    From check-in, we were greeted with services like welcome drinks and Mitarashi dango, creating a sense of excitement. The Room with an ocean view was comfortable. We relaxed in the scenic bath illuminated by the beautiful moonlight. It was a truly leisurely stay.

    A Wonderful Time

    This was my second stay! The view from the open-air bath was amazing. As for the meals, the pizza at the breakfast buffet and the made-to-order parfaits were delicious! The only downside was that I couldn't choose my seat at the buffet, and I ended up in a central seat very close to the neighboring table, which was a bit disappointing. Also, it would be great if makeup remover could be provided in the bath washing area!

    It was comfortable.

    The Hotel was very clean and beautiful. The Room was equipped with everything necessary. The wooden floor in the toilet made it comfortable to use. The bed was so comfortable that I fell asleep immediately. I felt the bath might be a bit small considering the number of people using it. The open-air bath seemed visible from the upper floors of a neighboring Hotel, which made me feel slightly uneasy... However, I appreciated that brown bath towels were provided for this reason. Breakfast included sparkling wine and red and white wine, which was fantastic! Lastly, the parfait was delicious and left me deeply impressed.

    False nails were found on the bed and in the toilet...

    This Hotel is new, so I thought it would be clean. However, I found long pink fake nails on the bed and in the toilet, which was unpleasant and very uncomfortable. Until I found the fake nails, I thought it was excellent, but my impression dropped because of this. It would be better if cleaning and inspections were done more thoroughly.

    Be sure to experience the infinity bath.

    The bath was truly amazing! It was my first time enjoying such long and frequent soaks. Even though the accommodation was fully booked, I could enjoy the bath at any time without feeling crowded. This bath alone is worth visiting for! I would love to stay again just for the bath. One downside was the dinner crowd... Is there any way to improve this? I left early because I didn’t want to wait in line. The food looked delicious, so it would be great if the congestion could be addressed. I also noticed that waiting for elevators took quite some time on several occasions. Additionally, there seemed to be services catered towards international visitors, but none for Japanese guests... As someone living in Japan, it felt a bit disappointing. Overall, I was very satisfied with my stay. Thank you very much!

    An accommodation you'll want to visit again.

    We were upgraded to a sea-facing Room and had a truly relaxing time. The breakfast was delicious no matter what we tried, but the buttered potato topped with salted fish was exceptionally tasty! We highly recommend enjoying the ocean-view bath in the early morning. The sight of the sky beginning to brighten and the vast sea is breathtaking—a view that will make you want to return.

    I chose the Hewitt R...

    I chose the Hewitt Resort in Yunokawa for its convenient access, as I planned to stay in Hakodate for about a week during summer vacation and wanted to visit other places as well. I was also looking forward to it since I had a great experience at a related hotel in Nasu earlier this year. The perks included early check-in, late check-out, and one complimentary drink (including alcohol) during dinner, making it an excellent value for money. Additionally, we received freshly made soft and delicious dumplings from Gingetsu on a first-come-first-served basis. The accommodation is relatively new and very clean throughout. The suite room was designed for up to four people but felt even more spacious with just two of us staying there. Its simple and natural design was charming, especially the view bath with its refreshing white tiles and bathtub that stood out beautifully. Although not located directly along the beach, the ocean view from our room was still stunning. The comfort of our stay led us to sleep in later than planned! The large public bath also offered breathtaking views. For dinner at Unami restaurant, we enjoyed kaiseki cuisine (Sea course). The sashimi was fresh, particularly the Hokkaido beef roast which was exceptional! While the sushi tasted great overall, the rice felt slightly firm. Breakfast featured an abundance of seafood; among them, kanpachi stood out as particularly delicious. Since Hakodate is known for its competitive breakfast offerings among accommodations here, including seasonal Hokkaido fruits like those found at other hotels could make it even better. It became a memorable experience!

    As expected...

    Enjoy fresh crab, sea urchin, and salmon roe in Hokkaido! However, the quality of the crab was lower than expected for Hokkaido, no sea urchin was served, and the salmon roe seemed questionable. The Onsen had a noticeable chlorine smell. Parking is available in a gravel second parking lot. It was my first visit and an interesting experience overall.

    The infinity bath is amazing!

    The Room was ocean-facing, and the view from the infinity bath on the top floor overlooking the Tsugaru Strait was breathtaking. It was an unforgettable sight. The dinner buffet included crab, plenty of seafood, and sushi, all of which were delicious. For breakfast, you could create your own dream seafood bowl with your favorite toppings—truly satisfying. The staff were all kind, and the Room was clean and beautiful—a truly wonderful Hotel. I would love to stay here again someday. This time, I made so many great memories thanks to the staff.     For those accustomed to high-class services, this property may not meet all expectations. The parking staff and front desk male staff were unprofessional, addressing guests casually and inappropriately, which left a bad impression. Dinner seemed to be adjusted for cost-cutting, with dishes differing significantly from what was expected. Breakfast operations were poorly managed; some items appeared unappetizing, floating in water. The only redeeming dish was the squid ink sausage, which felt authentically Hakodate-like.
