    First of all, there ...

    First of all, there seems to be an issue with hospitality. While deciding whether to have the welcome drink upon arrival, another guest arrived, and an employee stood silently holding the guest's suitcase as if urging us to vacate the seat quickly. After explaining about the accommodation, when I turned around, the employee's facial expression completely changed. The worst part was that there was no key for the room safe! When I contacted the front desk, they responded by saying, "Recently some foreigners seem to have taken it home; you can either manage it yourself or leave it at the front desk." I decided to leave it at the front desk but was only handed a single paper bag and had to request tape myself. It seems urgent measures should have been taken regarding providing keys for room safes. The only positive points were that dinner was delicious and there was an explanation from what seemed like a sommelier when ordering alcohol. Since hospitality is crucial in this business, I hope proper training will be implemented moving forward and look forward to improvements during my next stay.

    It was a luxurious experience.

    Before our visit, we called to inquire about the sunset time at Mount Wakakusa, and the staff kindly confirmed it for our stay and arranged a taxi for us. From the Shuttle Service to check-in, scheduling of Mount Wakakusa visits, dinner, and private open-air bath times were meticulously planned, allowing us to relax and enjoy our trip. The staff's warm and friendly demeanor made us feel at ease. While many Hotels adhere strictly to formal manners, here we felt genuine care and joy in their work. The dinner was exceptional with unique originality that kept us excited for each dish; everything from taste to presentation was thoughtfully crafted—worth visiting just for this experience alone. After finishing our meal, they even offered us a window seat when it became available so we could enjoy dessert with a stunning night view—a truly considerate gesture. The attentive service left us highly satisfied. Breakfast was also delicious—so much so that I thought they could call themselves an auberge! This is definitely a Hotel I would love to visit again.

    The fire alarm went off at midnight, requiring evacuation. Unable to sleep peacefully.

    While sleeping, the fire alarm went off around 11:30 PM, followed by an evacuation announcement due to a fire. Upon changing and heading to the front desk, I found many other guests gathered in shock. Despite the evacuation announcements continuing for over 30 minutes, there was no clear explanation from the hotel staff about whether it was an actual fire or a false alarm (lasting over 30 minutes). Without a proper explanation from the hotel management, it was an anxious night where I couldn’t sleep. The next day at checkout, the deputy manager provided an explanation regarding last night’s fire alarm and apologized for the insufficient response and guidance. While I’m relieved that it wasn’t a real fire, I am deeply disappointed by the lack of proper action during such an emergency. That said, both the meals and service were excellent, as well as their stargazing event. My gratitude goes out to all staff members who provided great service.

    Looking forward to future improvements.

    The newly stylish interior made for a comfortable stay. The restaurant had a great view, and the private open-air bath with a scenic view was excellent. The innovative menu was delightful, and the staff were very friendly, making it an enjoyable experience. However, as many of the Hotel staff appeared to be quite young, there is room for improvement in customer service skills.

    The service does not match the accommodation cost.

    I stayed in the Terrace Suite, but the accommodation cost only covered the room, and other services were the same as a standard room, so I will not revisit. The essential room is also far away, and most of the terrace gets wet when it rains.

    Satisfaction guaranteed!

    I had a relaxing time with my friend. The scenery was beautiful, and the meals made with Nara ingredients were absolutely delicious. Enjoying the open-air bath while watching the sunset was amazing. The optional night tour to Mount Wakakusa also left a lasting impression. I felt refreshed after my stay. As I grow older, I truly appreciate quality over quantity in meals. It’s heartwarming to see such a Hotel in Nara (considering there used to be many places relying on basic attractions without much creativity). We talked about wanting to visit again during another season as we headed home. The staff's hospitality was also very pleasant and comforting.

    For Your Coral Anniversary

    I had visited Nara many times, but I heard about AND Hotel on Mount Wakakusa from a friend and immediately made a Reservation because I was told the newly renovated Hotel offers stunning night views. While I had both expectations and concerns, it exceeded my expectations. However, the chairs in the guest room, which seemed to be from a famous manufacturer, were fabric-covered and stained all over, so I didn’t sit on them even once. That was disappointing.

    Everything about the trip was perfect.

    We stayed with a preschool child. The pool and the bed rails in the room provided facilities that made it enjoyable and safe for families with children, which was truly wonderful. Additionally, the dinner was absolutely exceptional. We will definitely choose this accommodation again when traveling to Nara. Thank you very much!

    Thank you for the wonderful hospitality! When I called in advance to confirm the shuttle service, you also smoothly arranged reservations for dinner and a private open-air bath. The check-in process on the day was very courteous, and both the dinner course and breakfast were absolutely delicious! Additionally, the dining staff were very attentive, even suggesting a window-side seat during dessert—much appreciated. If I have another opportunity, I would love to visit this accommodation again.

    Sauna Girls' Gathering

    The room with a private sauna was quite unique, featuring a shower room and an open-style bathtub. However, it was located in an area with steep stairs, making it slightly challenging to move to the dining area or the large public bath. Still, being near the pool and having a sauna made for an amazing experience. The delicious meals, champagne, and wine made this trip truly satisfying. I will definitely visit again!

    The meals were delicious, and the sommelier explained everything very clearly. We arrived by car, but unfortunately, there was a lot of bird droppings on the vehicle. While the welcome was very polite, there was no one to see us off. It's not that we expected it, but considering how well we were treated overall, this part felt a bit disappointing.

    The location is excellent, but...

    We stayed as a family of four, including two children. The accommodation is located in a scenic spot overlooking Nara City from Mount Wakakusa, offering a peaceful environment away from the hustle and bustle. However, there were several points of concern. Firstly, the private open-air bath's changing room only had one fan and no water supply, making it almost impossible to stay there for long. The fan was ineffective in the heat. It would be better to provide at least a carafe of water or inform guests to bring water from their room—it was simply too hot to endure. Additionally, since we did not choose a dinner-inclusive plan and there was no room service available, we had to go into the city for meals. However, the last shuttle service at 5:30 PM felt inconvenient. The lack of a shop selling food or souvenirs was also disappointing. As IKYU members, we received 2,000 yen worth of vouchers for use within the facility and ordered drinks at the bar; however, it was surprising that only nuts were available as food options. Most bars typically offer some non-perishable snacks like chocolates or dried foods. The public bath felt cramped and closed off due to frosted glass that completely blocked any view outside—this created quite an oppressive atmosphere. We stayed in a suite room but found some aspects underwhelming; amenities were provided in large bottles similar to those found in public baths rather than individually packaged items. Additionally, both children's amenities were identical to adult ones—there seemed to be little consideration for children’s needs such as toothbrushes designed specifically for them. Given that this accommodation is not inexpensive by any means, these shortcomings stood out more prominently. While the modern design of our room itself was impressive overall improvements on service aspects would enhance guest satisfaction significantly.

    It was a wonderful stay.

    We visited Nara as a family of four and were deeply impressed by the hospitality. Everything, including the Facility, staff service, and Room, was perfect. The Room was clean, spacious, and comfortable, and the meals were absolutely delicious. During the stargazing tour, we were amazed to see so many deer. Enjoying drinks while admiring the night view created wonderful memories for us. We would love to visit again if we have another chance. The shaved ice we received at check-in was incredibly delicious!

    The location was ideal for sightseeing, being close to Nara Park and Todai-ji Temple. On the way to the accommodation, we saw deer, which gave us a sense of nature. The view and meals from the restaurant were also excellent. This time, we stayed with our child looking forward to insect collecting, but unfortunately, it seemed we were late due to the heat. The cost-performance is great; however, it felt like there weren't enough staff. It might be better to slightly increase the price and hire more staff.

    We visited for a special birthday celebration. We stayed in a room on the 5th floor with a beautiful view, and the open-air bath was clean and very satisfying. Although it is not an inexpensive hotel, being such a wonderful accommodation, there were some disappointing points: - The key to the open-air bath was not unlocked even at the reserved time, so we had to go to the front desk to request it be opened. - A message card in the towel set for the open-air bath mentioned "water prepared after bathing," but no water was provided. - We requested a birthday cake and mailed gift delivery; when picking them up at the front desk, we were told over the phone beforehand that "since your items are large, staff will assist you in carrying them to your room," but no help was offered. - We requested a chocolate plate on the cake, but it was not included. Despite receiving confirmation calls from staff before our stay, these mistakes occurred and were disappointing. When carrying both cake and luggage—clearly too much for one person—there was no offer like "Shall we help carry this to your room?" which felt lacking in thoughtfulness. Because this visit was meant as part of an important birthday celebration, these issues were especially regrettable. However, everything else about our stay exceeded expectations—we enjoyed relaxing time away from Nara's city center at Wakakusa Mountain with activities like stargazing tours that were excellent. We hope these points can be improved upon during our next visit. Thank you for taking care of us during our stay!

    Fun Family Trip!!

    Thank you so much for everything! We truly appreciate your efforts in accommodating food allergies and creating birthday cards for three people. In July, we visited for the second time with friends, and we have decided to make it an annual tradition. Although it rained this time and we couldn't enjoy the lantern festival or stargazing, all three families gathered in one Room to open birthday presents and had a wonderful time together! The meals were delicious, and we had such an enjoyable experience. Everyone loved the open-air bath; it was relaxing, and luckily, there was no rain during that time. We will definitely visit again—our heartfelt thanks to all the staff!

    The service felt inadequate for the price. The restaurant staff seemed inexperienced, for example: - They failed to notice empty glasses and left them unattended during service. - Plates were cleared without checking if food was still on them. This was quite disappointing.

    Simply outstanding.

    The meals, rooms, views from the rooms, activities, and the staff's hospitality were all excellent. If I had to highlight one thing that was particularly outstanding, it would be the cuisine. Each dish was delicious and showcased thoughtful creativity. I would love to visit again!

    I visited for the first time, looking forward to a hotel stay in the forest. The natural surroundings of the primeval forest and the view overlooking Nara city were beyond expectations, making it a truly wonderful experience. The restaurant offered exquisite dishes, and above all, the staff's hospitality was heartwarming. With various activities prepared, this Hotel is filled with a welcoming spirit for visitors. I found such a lovely Hotel that I would love to visit again in another season.

    Excellent

    We visit this accommodation several times a year with my wife. As always, the tranquility of the accommodation, the quality of the cuisine, the hospitality of the staff, and the cleanliness of the facility are consistently excellent. We look forward to visiting again... PS... The poolside was extremely hot under the midsummer sun, almost to the point where it felt like it could burn your feet. It might be a concern for children using it. If possible, placing some kind of mat or covering would be appreciated.

    The service is...

    The suite room was located at the bottom of a steep slope, requiring us to go up and down the slope every time we went for meals or to the Onsen. At night, there were no streetlights, and we had to carry a lamp through complete darkness to reach the Onsen. When I called about the room's Facility issues, I was put on hold for over 10 minutes with no follow-up even after hanging up. The service was disappointing despite our high expectations.

    Stay for a Milestone Celebration with Three Generations

    It was an amazing accommodation. The room (spacious and clean) and the food (delicious with generous portions) were absolutely perfect. The hospitality of all the staff was exceptional, making us feel truly cared for. This stay was planned for my elderly parents, and three rooms were prepared for us.     I stayed with my husband, child, and mother-in-law. The Room was very spacious as it was a penthouse, and the open-air bath with a view of the night scenery was wonderful. However, the meal service was the worst I have experienced in any Hotel so far. At check-in, staff came to confirm food allergies (avocado and zucchini), which I communicated clearly. Since I am pregnant, they also offered to replace raw eggs at breakfast with rolled omelets upon request, which I agreed to. Before dinner started, there was another allergy confirmation where they assured me that no allergenic ingredients were included in today's menu. However, the first dish served contained diced avocado-like pieces. When I asked if it was avocado, a staff member smiled and confirmed it indeed was avocado. After explaining again about my allergy to avocado as previously mentioned during check-in and dinner preparation checks, they apologized but did not replace the dish; instead, I had to remove the avocado myself using chopsticks. The second dish included zucchini alongside white asparagus and scallops. Hesitantly asking if it might be zucchini resulted in another smiling confirmation from different staff members that it indeed contained zucchini—despite having already informed them earlier about this allergy too! They apologized again but prioritized explaining dishes over replacing them immediately. Although an apology from management followed later on during dinner service regarding these repeated mistakes involving allergens explicitly communicated beforehand—the next morning's breakfast still arrived unchanged featuring raw eggs instead of promised alternatives like rolled omelets! This level of negligence is unacceptable considering potential life-threatening risks posed by severe allergic reactions such as anaphylaxis or breathing difficulties—not just minor itching symptoms like mine personally experienced here repeatedly across multiple instances throughout our stay despite prior warnings provided upfront each time beforehand accordingly!     Mount Wakakusa is truly gentle.

    When I was a child, I often visited Mount Wakakusa with a packed lunch and always had wonderful memories, even without amusement parks. This time, for my husband's 70th birthday trip, I wanted to share these cherished memories with our grandchildren and chose this place. Being originally from Osaka, I had never stayed in Nara before. Our family gathered here from Kobe, Kanagawa, and Ibaraki. The night view from Mount Wakakusa was just as gentle and beautiful as I remembered. Thank you so much for everything. The meals were all incredibly delicious!

    We were treated very well during our stay.

    The meals were delicious, the drinks were excellent, and the staff's service was outstanding. However, the Room seemed to be a renovated space like a warehouse or something similar, making access from the front desk inconvenient. The footsteps from the upper floor echoed significantly, which was a downside. Additionally, the bed felt unstable as its movable casters seemed to shift even with slight head movements, making it uncomfortable to sleep. I hope only the bed can be replaced.
