    Third time

    This was my third stay. Previously, I stayed in a Room with a large desk for work purposes, but this time I chose the Essential Hollywood Twin as it was a trip with my daughter. The bathroom was spacious, the rain shower was comfortable, and overall it was very pleasant. I chose this Hotel because I wanted to introduce my daughter to their breakfast. She was thrilled with the honeycomb and handmade granola. When shipping luggage, many Hotels require cash-on-delivery or cash payments, but here they allowed us to settle everything together from the Room, which was convenient and reassuring. The staff at the bar were incredibly kind as well; enjoying soft drinks while admiring the night view made for a delightful experience. I will visit again!

    Not recommended.

    I usually use this hotel when watching sumo matches. This time, I could only reserve a Minimal Hollywood Twin on a lower floor and stayed in this room for the first time, but it was terrible. Unlike the rooms on the 7th or 8th floors facing the Kokugikan, I couldn't sleep for two nights due to the constant noise from vehicles on the expressway. If only Minimal rooms are available, I recommend choosing another hotel.

    The Best 70th Birthday Celebration

    We celebrated a longtime friend's 70th birthday with a meal at the restaurant and an overnight stay at the accommodation. The hotel kindly allowed us to decorate the room with flowers, which turned out to be a wonderful surprise that delighted not only our friend but also her two daughters. The dinner at the restaurant, enjoyed while overlooking the Sumida River, was absolutely delicious. The evening concluded with everyone gathering around a dessert plate featuring "HAPPY BIRTHDAY," creating an unforgettable moment of joy. We sincerely appreciate everyone's thoughtful hospitality. Thank you very much!

    I’d love to stay here again.

    It was a pleasant stay from start to finish. The Hotel staff, especially those in the restaurant and lounge, were wonderful. The food was high quality, the tableware was beautiful, and we enjoyed a luxurious time while taking in the riverside views and illuminated scenery. (The seafood chanko hot pot at breakfast was delicious, and we were happy to have honeycomb as well.) The Room was clean, with separate toilet and bath areas, and it wasn’t too small, so we could relax in the bathtub. (Bath salts were provided.) It’s very close to Ryogoku Station, which made it convenient to go back multiple times for Ryogoku Kokugikan souvenirs. (We even had a “souvenir mission.”) We would love to visit again.

    It was wonderful.

    Kind and courteous service at the front desk, a clean Room with a view of Ryogoku Kokugikan, and complimentary coffee available anytime. The large bath was relaxing and soothing. It was great even during the COVID-19 period, but it has evolved further and is truly wonderful. I would love to visit again.

    Stylish Breakfast

    The Room barely had a view of the Skytree, but I was disappointed to find dust accumulated on the lampshade. I enjoyed a stylish breakfast while overlooking the Sumida River. Everything was very delicious and delightful.

    All staff are friendly and welcoming, always with a smile.

    The staff were friendly and welcoming with warm smiles, so we had a very comfortable stay. Breakfast and the café latte were delicious. It was very close to the water bus stop, which made our kids happy too. On a weekday morning during summer vacation, there happened to be a summer sumo health exercise program at the Kokugikan right in front of the hotel, and we were able to join in with our kids on the spot. We were thrilled to see sumo wrestlers up close. The only thing that concerned me was some dust in the Room and mold in the corner of the bathroom, so I rated that part a 4. Overall, we were very satisfied with both the price and service. We would love to stay again.

    I stayed at the accommodation during summer vacation to take a short break from daily life and relax. The rooftop terrace is perfect for enjoying the evening breeze, even on hot days. It felt like an urban oasis where I could unwind while admiring the Skytree and the flow of the Sumida River. The chocolate and champagne were also delicious. The room's furnishings showed signs of wear, with faint stains on the sofa cushions and shelves, which caught my attention but were within acceptable limits. However, upon entering the room, I noticed a cigarette smell despite it being a non-smoking room. It seemed as though a previous guest might have smoked secretly. For the first time, I used the provided deodorizing spray and ran the air purifier at full capacity. Non-smokers are very sensitive to such smells, so stricter measures would be appreciated in this regard. This was my third stay at one of The Gate Hotels in Tokyo after Kaminarimon and Yurakucho locations. The accommodations are not too large or overly luxurious but offer reasonable comfort with excellent accessibility to transportation options. They are convenient choices that I would consider for future stays in other areas as well.

    Everything was satisfactory.

    I have stayed at the hotel in front of Kaminarimon several times, and it was excellent as well. However, the Ryogoku location was great in terms of location, rooms, and breakfast. I am also planning to stay in Yokohama within this year, and I am very much looking forward to it.

    I had a pleasant stay.

    We chose this Hotel because it seemed convenient and close to the boarding point for the yakatabune boat from Ryogoku. It was great to board right in front of the Hotel. Breakfast was one of the highlights we looked forward to, with a main dish selection and side dishes available buffet-style. Although compact, everything was delicious. The orange juice was refreshing and perfect, and our child loved the honey. In the morning, we went up to the terrace on the 9th floor and enjoyed an amazing view. We slightly regretted not having beer there at night! The shampoo in our Room had a lovely scent that felt soothing. From our Room, we could see Ryogoku Kokugikan right in front of us, and taking a morning walk along Sumida River felt refreshing. The staff greeted us with warm smiles throughout our stay, making it a wonderful experience. Thank you very much for your hospitality!

    Convenient location close to the station. The building, front desk, and Room were clean. Separate bath and toilet, with a spacious sink area, which was appreciated.

    Ryogoku Sightseeing

    I could hardly sleep in the room on the 5th floor near the highway. I requested a quiet room on a higher floor, but it was not possible due to many Multiple Night Stay guests. However, this Hotel is very convenient for sightseeing in Ryogoku.

    Stylish Hotel!

    I love Ryogoku, but this was my first stay at this hotel. It is a stylish accommodation with a great atmosphere. I stayed in a room with a view of the Kokugikan, which was delightful as a sumo fan. The morning after my stay, I could see sumo wrestlers leaving from the window, joined their sumo exercises, and even took photos together. Dinner at the restaurant overlooking the Sumida River was luxurious, and breakfast featuring chanko hot pot and fresh fruits was delicious. I usually stay at large hotels, but I appreciated the charm of this smaller-scale accommodation. The staff's smiles were wonderful!

    This is my favorite Hotel.

    Repeat stay! A conveniently located Hotel near the station, nestled between Sumida River and Ryogoku Kokugikan. The Room was clean, and the breakfast was absolutely delicious! From our Room on the Kokugikan side, we could even see Tokyo Skytree. It was wonderful to spend time along Sumida River in the evening, simply watching houseboats pass by. I definitely plan to stay here again!

    I happened to find this Hotel during a business trip and had the chance to stay here. The view of the Skytree and Kokugikan was amazing, offering a perfect location.     Wonderful Hotel

    We stayed as a family during the three-day weekend in July. Due to our circumstances, we arrived much later than planned and checked in around 9 PM. The hotel was located in a quieter area than expected, making it difficult to find the entrance in the dark, but once we took the elevator to the second floor, the front desk was immediately there. (The next day, when it was bright outside, we noticed an escalator on the exterior of the building that seemed to provide easy access!) The hotel was compact but featured chic and stylish interiors. The calm atmosphere suited our preferences perfectly. Our room was an Essential Triple with three beds; even with suitcases open, there was plenty of space. The sink, bathroom, and toilet were separate and spaciously designed for excellent usability. As part of IKYU's Diamond benefits, we received chocolates and coffee tickets. The tickets allowed us to enjoy complimentary coffee or tea at the restaurant on the lobby floor; we opted for takeout and enjoyed our drinks while admiring night views from a guest-only terrace on the 9th floor. I believe these free tickets could also be used at the lounge on the 9th floor with unlimited refills; however, since we were tired and wanted to relax in our room quickly, we only had one cup each—but it felt like such a thoughtful perk! We were delighted by sparkling night views that included Tokyo Skytree. Since our plan included breakfast, we dined at their second-floor restaurant in the morning. Breakfast consisted of selectable main dishes alongside buffet-style options. My daughter and I had already decided beforehand to try their highly-rated Eggs Benedict—and indeed they lived up to expectations! However... I personally cannot eat seafood so didn’t anticipate salmon being part of them—something I regretted not checking earlier... That said though—my daughter loves salmon & thoroughly enjoyed hers! (laughs) Other buffet items like acai bowls or authentic honey plus fresh orange juice impressed too despite smaller venue size overall—it exceeded what sufficed leaving us fully satisfied! Staff members appeared relatively young yet worked diligently earning positive impressions overall throughout interactions encountered here/there albeit minor unfamiliarity moments arising occasionally still left supportive sentiments akin cheering-on younger generation efforts alike parent-like perspective stance taken instead ultimately appreciated experience altogether genuinely expressed interest returning future stays exploring other HULIC properties likewise someday ahead potentially envisioned possibilities imagined fondly cherished memories shared sincerely conveyed     Excellent

    Less than a 3-minute walk from the station, and you can see the Skytree from the road outside the Hotel. The front desk staff at check-in were very kind, making my stay pleasant. I will definitely stay here again on my next trip to Tokyo.

    A Perfect Base for the Sumida River Fireworks Festival

    The accommodation plan for the Sumida River Fireworks Festival was sold out, but I secured a paid viewing ticket and stayed. Yokohama, Yurakucho, and here... The interior, facilities, and tranquility are excellent. The bath with a washing area is also good.

    This was my first time staying here, and I had a pleasant experience with its convenient location near the station and the warm yet professional service at reception. The night view was beautiful, and I enjoyed the terrace as well. I appreciated the bathroom with a washing area, and all water facilities appeared clean and well-maintained. Thank you to all the cleaning staff! I feel this might become my regular accommodation in the future.

    I stayed here for a refreshing getaway on my own. The staff were very kind and provided excellent service. Thank you so much. I initially planned to have dinner outside, but I was too tired to go out, so I decided to dine at the restaurant on the second floor. I ordered the "Pasta of the Day," which turned out to be unexpectedly delicious—choosing this restaurant instead of going out was definitely the right decision. As a Diamond Member, I received coffee tickets, chocolates, and champagne as perks—it felt like a great deal with three benefits included! I often saw reviews mentioning how delicious the orange juice at breakfast is, and now I completely understand why everyone says that—it was truly delightful. The room was clean and comfortable, with adjustable air conditioning that allowed me to set it just as I liked for a pleasant stay. If given another opportunity, I would love to stay here again!

    The service was excellent.

    Conveniently located near the station. The pajamas were one-size-fits-all, but considering guests of various sizes, it might be better to provide more size options. The Room was slightly small, and the shower operation in the bathroom was a bit difficult to figure out. Breakfast had fewer options compared to others, but it seemed to use very high-quality ingredients and was delicious and satisfying.

    A comfortable Hotel

    This was my first time staying here. The location is convenient, right in front of the station. As it is a relatively new Hotel, the Room was slightly small but clean and comfortable. The staff were friendly and attentive, and both dinner and breakfast at the restaurant were delicious. Relaxing in the lounge was also enjoyable. I would love to stay at this Hotel again if I have the chance.

    We stayed in a twin ...

    We stayed in a twin Room for two people. The Room was not particularly spacious but not cramped either, and it was comfortable. However, there seemed to be an issue with the bathroom drainage; after both of us drained the bathwater, it spread to about half of the washroom area, leaving it quite wet. This has been reported to the front desk. The breakfast was very delicious, and I appreciated the large coffee cups. Since it was a weekday, there were no crowds, and we were able to enjoy a relaxed time. The loungewear was extremely comfortable—I even wished they would sell it!

    The location is excellent.

    I booked 2 rooms for a trip with friends. Although non-smoking rooms were fully booked and the same type of room was unavailable, they provided proper deodorization and placed us on the same floor. The Hotel is close to JR and subway stations, right in front of the sumo arena where the May tournament was taking place, allowing us to enjoy the lively atmosphere. Thanks to Diamond benefits, we enjoyed champagne on the terrace while viewing Tokyo Skytree and received various tips from a lovely bartender. Looking forward to visiting again in September! If I may mention one dissatisfaction, having a coin laundry within the Hotel would be very helpful—hoping for this in the future!

    Does not disappoint even on your second stay.

    I stayed here for the first time in six months, and it was just as I expected. The room was spacious, with a clean bathroom and a large bathtub. For breakfast, I chose pancakes, but the dishes available at the buffet were also delicious. If the weather is nice, taking a walk along the Sumida River is highly recommended.

    On the final day of the Grand Sumo Tournament

    Stayed for the first time during the Grand Sumo Tournament's final day. The front of the Kokugikan was visible from the Room, and I had a perfect view of the victory parade! The night view from the lounge was also beautiful. The building seemed well-constructed as I couldn't hear any noise from neighboring rooms. The Room was spacious, efficient, and clean. I would love to stay here again.
