    Great value for money

    The location was excellent, the Facility was clean, and the breakfast was reasonably well-prepared, making it a very cost-effective Hotel. Parking was smooth as Hotel staff were stationed in front of the Hotel to guide us efficiently. The self-service check-in and check-out options were convenient; however, it would be helpful if clear instructions about rules like no loungewear during breakfast or large bath hours were provided at check-in. After returning from the Lake Biwa fireworks festival, we could still enjoy the large bath comfortably. Additionally, we had a relaxing walk after breakfast before checking out, which made for a wonderful stay.

    First-time stay. The public bath was excellent.

    I usually stayed in accommodations around Higashiyama or Shijo in Kyoto, but I decided to change hotels for a change of pace. The location near City Hall and close to Sanjo made it very convenient for access. Although I struggled with the street names when returning by taxi, the facility was new and had a clean atmosphere. It was disappointing that the public bath was only available until 9:00 AM. I wish it could be used until about an hour before checkout time. I would consider staying here again if I have another opportunity.

    Business Hotel

    Such hotels may be increasing, but if there are no issues, there is no interaction with the Hotel staff. From check-in to check-out, everything is automated. Amenities are taken from the shelf next to the front desk. This month marks my third stay at a Hotel in Kyoto. The first and second stays were at Business Hotels costing one-third of this Hotel's price. However, the amenities at the second Business Hotel were from the same manufacturer and followed the same system as this one. Aside from not having a large public bath (which my husband used and found comfortable here), room size was almost identical. Since both are located in Sanjo, convenience remains unchanged as well. I chose this place because of its high ranking... but I would like to know what makes it different!

    Third time

    This is my third stay. Amenities were not available in the Room, and the staff I passed in the hallway seemed unfriendly, so my rating this time is a bit lower. It feels like it’s heading towards being more of a Business Hotel.

    Is this the premium?

    I have stayed at Solaria Sapporo several times and had a good impression, so I decided to stay in Kyoto. Perhaps due to the category of the room I stayed in, the room felt small. Additionally, the water pressure of the shower was too weak. It was the weakest among all Japanese hotels I have stayed at! I think it should be urgently improved.

    Stayed at Kamogawa Twin.

    I decided to accompany my family on their trip to Kyoto and searched for a room with a view of the Kamo River and a large public bath. I made a reservation for two nights here. The front desk staff were all kind and provided clear answers to my questions. When I arrived on the 4th floor, the path to the room was slightly dim and maze-like, but it was fun finding my way. Upon entering the room, it was bright with large windows, and I spent about two hours enjoying the view of the Kamo River from the window seat. Breakfast was delightful, especially the miso soup which was very delicious. Most of the guests seemed to be foreigners, so we amusingly commented, "This is Kyoto, right?" while enjoying our meal. The large public bath felt like a private experience as no one else was there; however, I wished it had been slightly brighter. It was my first time using an overhead shower—it’s really nice! Having coin laundry available was helpful; however, considering the number of guest rooms here, it would have been more convenient if there were machines on each floor. I ended up going back and forth between the 4th floor and basement about five or six times checking availability. Overall, everything exceeded expectations—I’d love to stay here again next time!     Prime Location

    This is our second stay at this accommodation. Located near the Kamo River, it is just a few minutes' walk to Kawaramachi Sanjo and the subway station. The breakfast is also excellent. We will definitely choose this place again when we visit Kyoto next time. Thank you very much!

    Stunning views

    The view, location, and underground large public bath are excellent. Especially since I stayed in a Kamo River view Room, it was bright and soothing to watch the river. However, the Room's Facility was slightly disappointing with an inconvenient closet, a TV positioned on the far left side, and worn-out sofa and cushion pillows. I usually stay at Richmond Shijo, and compared to that, the meals were mediocre; there were no welcome drinks or free drinks/cocktail hour. It would have been better if there were fewer guest rooms to create more spacious areas for relaxation. That said, the view overlooking Kamo River might rival that of The Ritz-Carlton.

    The building felt ol...

    The building felt old and seemed unprepared for emergencies. We stayed in a triple room on the Kamogawa side, but the bathroom was small, and the drainage was clogged, making it uncomfortable. It raised concerns about hygiene. The breakfast buffet in the morning had hard bread and nothing particularly tasty—it was comparable to a Business Hotel buffet. I will not be using this place again.

    First time

    This was my first time staying at this accommodation. The location was excellent for sightseeing in various places. I hope for improvements regarding the closet door not closing properly and the stains on the cushions on the sofa, but other than that, I was highly satisfied. I have already made a reservation for a few months later as I would like to stay here again. Thank you in advance!

    Hotel by the Kamo River

    Stayed at Kamogawa Twin. Although it was self check-in and check-out, the staff provided kind support. Amenities are available next to the front desk. The elevator requires a key card. The room I stayed in had a Kamogawa view, which was an excellent choice. You can enjoy the scenery of Higashiyama beyond the Kamogawa River. The toilet and bathroom were separate, which was convenient. There was no mineral water provided in the room. Breakfast was served without any waiting time. The menu included Kyoto-style dishes such as dashi-maki tamago with Kujo green onions and boiled nanohana greens, offering a warm homemade touch. It was very delicious—thank you for the meal. The hotel is conveniently located near subway and Keihan train stations, and despite its compact entrance, there is a car drop-off area that made getting in and out of taxis easy even on rainy days like this time. I also appreciated that all staff members, including foreign staff, were multilingual—it felt very much like a Kyoto-style hotel. I would love to stay here again if I have another opportunity—thank you very much!

    Recommended Hotel.

    Stayed 3 nights in an Executive Twin Room. Great location and hospitality made for an enjoyable trip to Kyoto. Highly recommended Hotel. ○ Highlights: - The showerhead in the bathroom of the Executive Twin Room is Rifa, making it incredibly comfortable. The hairdryer is also Rifa, and with a bathtub available, we enjoyed bath time in the room and only used the public bath once. - The mini-fridge in the room offers a variety of free drinks, including beer and sake. - Front desk and breakfast staff were very calm, composed, and pleasant to interact with. - Excellent cleanliness of the room, comfortable bedding, towels, amenities—everything was top-notch. - Breakfast buffet was absolutely delicious. ○ Areas for Improvement: - A larger drawer for storing clothes would be appreciated as its absence felt unusual... Also, since the desk is low and small, it was inconvenient when eating meals in the room due to limited space. - Emergency exit locations were hard to find; some explanation would be helpful. - It would be nice if there were explanations about free drinks in the fridge during check-in as it wasn’t clear from what was displayed in-room. - Coffee at breakfast was too bitter for my taste; having soy milk or oat milk options would be great since many people (especially international guests) may prefer not to use coffee creamer or regular milk. - On days when cleaning isn’t needed, providing baskets or containers outside rooms where guests can place towels or glasses they want replaced could be convenient. 90% of guests seemed to be international tourists who appeared to thoroughly enjoy their stay at this Hotel!

    For parents' trip

    I made a Reservation for my parents. They said the location was excellent and very convenient for getting around. (The escalator exit guide from the subway was also helpful.) The breakfast had a variety of options and was delicious. In the morning, they enjoyed strolling along the Kamo River, and since their Room was a corner room with a Kamo River view, they could see the river terrace, making it a wonderful trip. I have been recommended this Hotel for my next visit to Kyoto and would love to stay here myself. Thank you very much!

    We stayed here on the second day of our Kyoto trip and chose a no-meal plan. The location was excellent, close to the station, Kamo River, and Pontocho. After visiting famous spots like Kiyomizu Temple and Ginkakuji by bus, we checked in around 4 PM. The green view from the glass-walled bathroom was very stylish. The room was clean and comfortable. Before heading to our reserved riverside dinner, we took a quick bath in the public bathhouse. There were both indoor and outdoor baths, but the water temperature was slightly too hot for us—both seemed to be at about the same temperature? It would have been better if there were options for hotter and cooler baths. Also, although we were two women staying together, one of our room wear sizes was M while the other was L... It took some effort to get them changed to both M sizes.

    Highly recommended

    A small green space resembling a tsuboniwa adds a touch of Kyoto charm and is truly soothing. The Facility is modern and comfortable. My Room was on the first floor, making it very convenient to access the front desk and breakfast area without using the elevator—it was surprisingly comfortable! The elevator to the public bath was also close by. The card key system ensures quietness by dividing areas effectively. Breakfast included Kyoto-style Japanese dishes and even traditional sweets, with a variety of fish that tasted excellent. I appreciated the cards indicating whether you were seated or finished at the buffet—very thoughtful for solo travelers like me, allowing me to leave my seat worry-free. The Neapolitan omelet was delicious as well! The staff provided excellent service, making my stay pleasant. I would love to stay here again! Although I came for a short visit, there were plenty of attractions within walking distance, making it an enjoyable experience even in a brief time frame. Thank you very much!

    Satisfaction

    I enjoyed a discounted stay during the time sale, making it very affordable. There was a bath in the basement, and while I couldn't see the Kamo River from my Room, I was soothed by the greenery. The breakfast offered a variety of dishes including mentaiko, all of which were delicious. After check-out, they kindly stored my luggage so I could continue sightseeing comfortably.

    Even in rainy weather

    Surprisingly good overall. Even on rainy days, you can relax and enjoy the view of the Kamo River through the large windows of the Room. Off-season might be nice too. Strolling around with an umbrella led to an unexpected visit to Kyogoku Shopping Street, where no umbrella is needed. The breakfast buffet was unexpectedly delicious!

    It was the best Hotel.

    We stayed as a group of 11, including my daughter and her husband, for my daughter's wedding. Although I was aware that the frosted glass windows would prevent us from seeing outside due to the location, it was so comfortable that it didn’t bother me at all. The room's air conditioning, bedding, and amenities were all excellent. Despite the complex layout of the rooms, we never got lost on our way to the elevator thanks to well-thought-out signage. The breakfast buffet the next morning was also fantastic; everything from rice, miso soup, grilled fish to pickles and dessert fruits was satisfying (it’s worth staying just for this). However, at 7 a.m., when breakfast started, there was a long line extending into the hallway as guests crowded in to get food. I think a system to stagger entry times might be necessary. Unfortunately, it rained during our stay this time but I would love to stay again when we have better weather!

    I stayed here during...

    I stayed here during my trip to Osaka and Kyoto. While the hotel is within walking distance of a bustling area, the surroundings on the non-Kamo River side are quite noisy. Since I visited by car, finding parking was very challenging. There are several coin-operated parking lots nearby, and staff provide guidance, but in the evening, there are so many pedestrians that it's difficult to drive around looking for a spot. I ended up using a temple parking lot about 10 minutes away on foot as it was available for rent. I wouldn't recommend this place for those traveling by car. The interior of the hotel is very clean, and while compact, the room was also well-maintained. The Kamo River view rooms were unavailable and seemed significantly more expensive, so I reserved a room with a bath overlooking Moss Burger instead. The bath was spacious and quite nice!

    This is a comfortable Hotel.

    The staff’s hospitality was wonderful and immediately put me at ease. I chose a Room with a view of the Kamo River, and it was so relaxing to watch the river in the morning and evening. Breakfast was delicious as well—especially the taro dumplings and chilled tomatoes with shibazuke jelly, which I ended up having every day. The miso soup was simple but deeply comforting. I also felt the location offered good access to various places around town. If I had to ask for one thing, I forgot (and broke) a few items during this trip, so having a small shop on-site would have been helpful. Thank you very much to all the staff. It was a truly wonderful trip.

    Convenient access

    I stayed for two nights, and the location was convenient for dining at night as it was close to the station. The breakfast had a wide variety, including chirashi sushi, and it was delicious. The Room's bath was also separate and easy to use, but when going to the large public bath in the hotel attire, I found the sandals difficult to wear and felt that my footing was somewhat precarious. Thank you for your hospitality.
