    Morning sun

    It was easy to get there because it’s close to Atami Station and offers a Shuttle Service. 1) The Room was comfortable, with plenty of towels and pajamas—very satisfying. 2) There were lots of drinks in the Room, which was convenient. 3) The hot water was excellent. 4) The meals were elaborate and extremely delicious. 5) The sunrise from the Room was beautiful. 6) The staff were attentive, and their greetings felt very pleasant. If I had to mention anything, the changing area of the large public bath had a slight musty smell. It might have been nice to have amenities that could be taken home. I’d like to visit again.

    The Ultimate Retreat Stay

    I stayed for one night as a solo guest. Having stayed at several other accommodations in Atami, I can confidently say that the staff's hospitality, the cuisine, the room, and the private open-air bath were all exceptionally satisfying! Both dinner and breakfast were like works of art, delicately crafted to engage all five senses, enjoyed in a beautifully atmospheric dining area. Above all, being able to gaze out at the expansive ocean from both the dining area and my room provided a truly refreshing experience. It was an exceptional retreat stay. Thank you very much!

    The Second Stay at Sekaie

    A favorite accommodation of mine. It's perfect for relaxing. I visited on a weekday before and loved it, so this time I returned on a weekend. However, weekends had more families with children, and during meals, the noise from babies and kids was quite disruptive, making it hard to hear conversations and enjoy the experience. I wished for a quieter dinner time. Other than that, it remains an excellent accommodation as always. Next time, I plan to visit again on a weekday. Thank you!

    It was a wonderful accommodation.

    It was my first stay, but everything—service, meals, scenery, and the room—was excellent. The staff included many young and international members, but their professionalism and attentiveness were truly impressive. It was clear that the entire accommodation shared a commitment to caring for their guests. The thoughtful surprise to commemorate our visit was also wonderful. Thank you very much. Having stayed at various hotels around the world due to my work, I was once again delighted by the high quality of Japanese service standards.     Delicious meals

    Our family prefers "Onsen with Japanese cuisine," so we stayed in a room in the Sekai-e building. The meals exceeded our expectations in taste. From the first dish at dinner, featuring deep-fried pufferfish and grilled milt, we were pleasantly surprised. The use of seasonal ingredients like arrowhead and duck for winter, as well as clams, rapeseed blossoms, and bamboo shoots hinting at spring, gave us the impression that great care was taken to reflect the seasons. Some accommodations serve portions that are too large to finish, but here the amount was just right—filling yet manageable. The room showed some wear on the sofa and table due to age but was overall comfortable. The slightly hot Onsen provided a sense of energy. The young staff left a strong impression with their dedication and hard work. For example, during meals, our table attendant escorted us to the elevator after dinner—a thoughtful touch that reflected well-planned operations. We were also impressed by their attention to detail in setting chopsticks according to handedness preferences.

    Attire

    The service attitude during meals was satisfactory. However, the black attire was wrinkled and stained. It would be appreciated if staff could wear freshly cleaned uniforms daily. This is my first experience like this despite frequently using the Fufu group, and it diminished the sense of luxury.

    It was excellent!

    I stayed for 3 nights and 4 days on a solo trip this time. In one word, everything was healing. A flawless Hotel! The meals, with various arrangements for all three, were enjoyable and delicious even when I was full! I sincerely wish to visit once a year. Thank you very much.

    The cuisine was excellent.

    The cuisine and sake pairing we enjoyed during our stay last September were exceptional, which is why we chose Sekaie to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary. Once again, the food and sake pairing were outstanding, and we were truly satisfied. Of course, the Facility and service were impeccable, allowing us to enjoy a wonderful commemorative trip. It was a bit disappointing that the bar we enjoyed last time was not serving cocktails; it would be even better if they could bring them back. Also, thank you for your thoughtful arrangements for our wedding anniversary this time. In any case, we look forward to finding another opportunity to visit again for the delicious cuisine and sake. Thank you very much for your hospitality!

    Drinks are expensive, but...

    The teppanyaki meal was delicious. It was my first time experiencing a private atmosphere with partitioned seating at a teppanyaki restaurant. The public bath felt a bit lacking, but since the room had an open-air bath, I enjoyed it multiple times. Check-in took a little time, but I was offered a complimentary glass of champagne as an apology. I often stay at accommodations of this class, and I found the room size, quality, amenities, and meals to be generally in line with the price. However, many alcoholic beverages were priced beyond what is typical for this level of accommodation—while such pricing might be expected at "Fufu," here it could have been more reasonably priced.

    It was comfortable.

    The meals were very delicious, especially because the warm dishes were served hot, which made them even more enjoyable. We were also able to enjoy a beautiful sunrise. However, there was only one chair on the terrace, so we couldn't sit together as a pair. It would be great if there were two chairs available.

    Open-Air Bath with Stunning Views

    As soon as you enter the entrance, you can enjoy a breathtaking view of the ocean. The stunning scenery can also be admired from your Room and the open-air bath in the guest room. The meals were delicious and very satisfying.

    Warm hospitality and delightful dining

    We have been using this accommodation for our three-generation girls' trip (grandmother, mother, and myself) every few years. Last year-end marked our third stay. Each time, the warm hospitality and delicious cuisine make us think, "We want to stay at Sekaie again!" The room's bath is well-designed with a convenient layout from the washing area, allowing my grandmother, who is over 80 years old, to safely enjoy the onsen!

    86-year-old mother, truly delighted!

    I stayed with my mother, who has difficulty walking. Thank you for your thoughtful preparation of a chair for the elderly in the bathroom. The Room's open-air bath was perfect, equipped with handrails and a seat inside the tub, allowing my mother to bathe comfortably. She was deeply moved by this consideration. While baths designed for people with physical disabilities often compromise on aesthetics, the open-air bath here maintained excellent design and felt like it was crafted by a true professional. The bed was incredibly comfortable, providing even better sleep than at home. Additionally, the meals were absolutely outstanding. We had four meals during our stay; not only were the ingredients of high quality, but we also witnessed meticulous care in their preparation right before our eyes—an experience that went far beyond deliciousness and left us truly touched. Thank you so much for such an amazing and dreamlike experience!

    We visited as a couple and were very satisfied with the Onsen, view, and meals.

    Both the large public bath and the private open-air baths in the rooms feature 100% natural hot spring water, a hallmark of Atami. The hillside location offers stunning views of the sea from the large windows in both guest rooms and the lobby lounge. Watching the sunrise over the horizon from the rooftop open-air terrace early in the morning was truly moving. Both dinner and breakfast were Japanese-style, with dishes that showcased unique touches and exceptional flavors. While not an inexpensive accommodation, it provides satisfaction well worth its price, making it a place I would love to revisit.

    Exceptional hospitality

    Thank you very much for the other day. We were truly satisfied with the attentive staff during our meal, and of course, the food was delicious. The Room was also wonderful, and the service was excellent. We would love to visit again.

    The first impression matters.

    Everything was excellent except for the check-in process. It’s disappointing to have waited over 30 minutes, especially during a non-busy time. Such a shame, as everything else was great.

    The scenery and Onsen are similar to others in the same class, but everything else offers poor value for money.

    Room & Amenities - The availability of some complimentary soft drinks and alcoholic beverages was a positive point compared to other nearby Onsen accommodations. However, during a multiple night stay, only towels and some amenities were replaced, requiring multiple inquiries at the front desk to have them delivered. Despite the higher price compared to similar rooms with private open-air baths in the area, insufficient amenity provision negatively impacted customer satisfaction. Service - Although we requested a shuttle service from Atami Station, no staff was present upon arrival, leading us to call for assistance. After finally meeting up with the shuttle driver, we had to wait standing at the station for about 20 minutes as five other groups were also waiting for the same vehicle. Upon arriving at the hotel, check-in took an additional 10 minutes before starting due to language barriers with staff members who struggled with Japanese communication. In total, it took approximately 50 minutes from arriving at Atami Station until entering our room. - There was only one elevator available in the facility which staff frequently used as well. This resulted in over an 80% chance of waiting for an elevator and often sharing it exclusively with employees. For this price range accommodation, it is expected that there would either be a separate staff elevator or that employees would use stairs if it's around five floors high—this was another negative point. Onsen & Bath - The view from our room's Onsen bath was impeccable and absolutely stunning. Facility - The facility itself had nothing particularly noteworthy or remarkable—neither good nor bad. Dining - Ingredients used in meals seemed comparable to those purchased at supermarkets without any notable use of local or premium ingredients. Additionally, breakfast menus remained unchanged during multiple night stays without any creative variations. - Meal service pace was slow; empty plates were not cleared promptly unless we called staff ourselves due to their infrequent checks. - When served by non-native Japanese-speaking staff members who appeared unfamiliar with their scripts beyond basic memorization levels—it became evident they could not handle questions effectively. Overall Satisfaction - Considering that prices are roughly double those of similar accommodations offering rooms with private open-air baths: while our room's bath met expectations comparable elsewhere—the overall experience fell far below standard expectations otherwise. At half this cost level perhaps deserving three stars; however under current pricing conditions staying here offers little value worth recommending further forwardly

    The stay was centered around enjoying delicious cuisine and drinks.

    Thank you for your kind and attentive communication via email prior to our stay, as well as for accommodating our requests so thoughtfully. The meals, both dinner and breakfast, were absolutely delicious, leaving both my spouse and me very satisfied. We opted for the pairing course with alcohol, which complemented each dish perfectly. The harmony between the food and drinks was delightful, introducing us to new flavors we thoroughly enjoyed. Additionally, we appreciated that the glasses used were Riedel. The visually stunning and flavorful dishes were further enhanced by the semi-private teppanyaki setting that provided a calm atmosphere where we could enjoy quality time together as a couple. Although we had requested no candles in advance due to using an anniversary plan, three candles were included unexpectedly. However, their beautiful glow created a memorable experience despite initial surprise. Breakfast featured gentle flavors that suited us well after the previous night's meal. Despite feeling quite full in the morning, we managed to finish everything without difficulty. On another note, it was disappointing that the Hollywood twin setup we had confirmed beforehand was not prepared upon arrival due to miscommunication. Furthermore, cleanliness in certain areas of the room—particularly in the shower area where black mold and slime were noticeable—was concerning. The peeling paint on furniture also caught our attention. Considering there are accommodations at similar price points in Atami with higher standards of cleanliness, this aspect felt like a missed opportunity given how excellent the meals were. The onsen offered an authentic experience with its distinct sulfur aroma—a highlight of our stay—but being located near one end of the property meant frequent train noises disrupted relaxation in our open-air bath. Improved room cleanliness and enhancements to free-flow offerings would have elevated overall satisfaction significantly. Nevertheless, every staff member greeted us warmly with polite language throughout our stay; their exceptional hospitality left a lasting impression on us. The thoughtful assistance at parking areas and entrances also stood out for its flexibility and care toward vehicles.     I had a very relaxing stay.

    I stayed at the Ocean View Premium in the Tsuki no Michi building in December 2025. The room I was assigned was a barrier-free room, which seemed to be more spacious than the standard Ocean View Premium rooms. The room, onsen, meals, scenery, and staff service were all excellent, allowing me to have a very relaxing stay. If I were to point out minor dissatisfaction: - When I requested a samue at the front desk, it had an oil-like stain about the size of a 500-yen coin on its collar. - At checkout, the middle-aged male staff member who guided me to the parking lot was very unfriendly and did not see me off; he simply returned after guiding me to my car. That said, overall it was an extremely satisfying accommodation experience. I would love to visit again. Thank you for your hospitality!

    We sincerely appreciate the hospitality of all the staff at Sekaie. We had a very relaxing stay. The food was absolutely delicious, and both my husband and I were extremely satisfied.     It was a bit disappointing.

    I booked the Birthday Plan. Overall, I was satisfied, but there were two disappointing points. Perhaps because it is a popular accommodation, during dinner, the person grilling meat and other dishes on the teppan had no expression and did not smile at all, which made me worry that it might ruin the celebration. Although it was semi-private dining, you could see everything in the kitchen where everyone seemed very busy and looked uninterested while cooking. Perhaps due to being busy, drink service was also slow and required multiple requests. The food itself was delicious but this aspect was disappointing. However, the manager-like person who brought the cake to our room provided exceptional service which made up for these issues. The other point is that I left something behind and called later to inquire about it. They said they would check and get back to me, but in the end, I never received a call back—not even a missed call—which left me disappointed with how this facility handles such matters. Unfortunately, I will not be returning here again. Thank you very much for your time anyway!

    Experience the highest level of service.

    Visited for my wife's birthday & wedding anniversary, as well as last year's silver wedding anniversary & her birthday, and it was amazing, so we are back again this year. As expected, the service level is exceptional, and the Onsen's water quality suits me perfectly. The meals are impeccable. Atami being just an hour from Tokyo is also a great advantage. The timing was perfect with a full moon, and we could see the "moon road" from our Room. We want to make this an annual tradition!

    The dessert selection was not very impressive.

    Thank you to the staff for being attentive to every detail. The atmosphere of the Room was very pleasant. However, the meal was a bit greasy, and the rich whipped cream on the dessert felt overwhelming. I think using higher-quality whipped cream or reducing its amount would be better.

    Excellent Accommodation

    I gifted my parents a trip to celebrate their golden wedding anniversary and chose this accommodation. They seemed very satisfied and praised it highly.     Elegant Time

    This was my first stay. The room, view, room amenities/facilities, meals, and onsen were all of exceptional quality, making for a truly elegant experience. The staff provided attentive service, ensuring a comfortable and pleasant time. The Konpeki Lounge also offered alcoholic beverages from 16:00, which was a delightful addition.

    First Trip to Atami

    For our first trip to Atami, we chose a Multiple Night Stay from Fufu Atami to Sekaie. The Shuttle Service from Atami Station to the Hotel and the dining service were excellent. The dried fish served at breakfast was especially delicious. We also appreciated the allergy-friendly meal options. The open-air bath in our room was fantastic, and seeing the beautiful stars from the bath became a wonderful memory.

    Excellent accommodation

    This was my first stay at Sekaie. The staff's hospitality and service were excellent. The room was tastefully designed, a comfortable size, and offered relaxing views of the sea, sky, and mountains. The bath with natural hot spring water was easy to adjust in temperature, and I enjoyed it multiple times—it was perfect. The amenities were well-chosen, and since I love lavender, I purchased the body soap. The meals featured teppanyaki with a variety of creative meat dishes. The handmade soba noodles and maitake tempura were delicious. Regarding the meat dishes, some combinations with puréed sauces felt slightly muted in flavor to me personally. For the pork dish specifically, I found it slightly under-seasoned and undercooked. Adding more contrast in flavors could make it even more refined overall. The wine list was outstanding, and I thoroughly enjoyed it as well. I particularly liked breakfast; despite usually not eating much in the morning, I finished everything on my plate! Next time I'd love to try Japanese cuisine at the main building too. Thank you for a wonderful experience!
