    I felt refreshed.

    Although it was the rainy season, we were lucky to have good weather and were able to relax in the Onsen at Sekaie while enjoying the beautiful view. The Facility was excellent, the meals were delicious, and the staff member in charge of our table provided very attentive service. I also recommend having a light drink on the terrace before dinner. We’d love to visit again—thank you very much.

    Stay at Atami Sekaie

    This was my first stay at Sekaie in Atami. I had been very interested in this Accommodation, so I was truly excited. Although it unfortunately rained, by the time we arrived it had eased to a light drizzle, and at night we could see the lights of Hatsushima. The view from the hilltop was wonderful. The Onsen was very relaxing and left me feeling warm all over, and the meals were absolutely delicious.

    I’d love to stay here again.

    Perfect for a relaxing stay at the Hotel. The in-Room drinks are well stocked, making it easy to unwind. The meals are also delicious. Above all, the Hotel staff were attentive and excellent. One small downside: the Room had a slightly odd smell. There was a diffuser by the Room entrance, but it didn’t seem to be from that. Other than that, everything was perfect!

    We were soothed by the finest in-room open-air bath.

    We stayed here to celebrate my parents’ 80th birthdays. The view from the in-room open-air bath was stunning, and we enjoyed a truly luxurious time. In the pre-stay questionnaire, I asked for barrier-free considerations for my parents, who have difficulty walking. However, the bed had two mattresses stacked, making it higher than waist level, and my mother seemed to struggle a lot getting on and off the bed. It felt like a luxury Hotel more suited to younger guests. Other than that, breakfast was very delicious and the staff were very kind. We would like to stay again.

    Completely satisfied with the dining, guest room, and service.

    We stayed here as a couple on a trip. Since we both love good food and drinks, the pairing course served with the teppanyaki dinner was an absolute treat. Not only was the food delicious, but it also paired perfectly with the drinks, making for a truly satisfying dinner. The Room was spacious and relaxing. The amenities were exceptionally well stocked—even including a rotating hot-air brush dryer you don’t often see at other Hotel—which showed great attention to detail. Above all, the in-Room open-air bath overlooking the ocean was simply outstanding in both location and experience. All of the staff were very pleasant, and we felt comfortable throughout our stay.

    The teppanyaki dinner is outstanding.

    We stayed here to celebrate a birthday and a retirement. We considered the Anniversary Plan, but chose the Plan that lets you enjoy both meat and seafood. The meat was excellent, and the abalone was outstanding—we were completely satisfied. Breakfast was also wonderful, with rolled omelet cooked on an iron griddle, shiitake served over charcoal, grilled fish, and more—beautiful to look at as well. The staff’s warm, natural hospitality was very comfortable, and we were truly touched by the surprise gift. The Room had three types of hair dryers, and the amenities were well stocked. There were so many drinks in the refrigerator that we couldn’t finish them all. The open-air bath in the Room was incredibly relaxing. There were also mini cans of beer in the post-bath lounge at the large public bath—just the right size! This is an Accommodation we’d love to return to.

    Amazing!

    We stayed here to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary. From the thoughtful email communication before check-in to a last-minute request for Shuttle Service, the staff responded kindly and flexibly. We were also delighted by the service of gifting us a framed commemorative photo. Our Room was the ATAMI Sekaie Ocean View Superior Twin. The spacious balcony featured a free-flowing open-air hot spring bath, with trees swaying in the breeze directly below and the vast ocean beyond, accompanied by birdsong. There was nothing in view but what soothes the soul—“Happiness” was all we could say. The Japanese cuisine was simply outstanding, like freshly prepared dishes at a high-end traditional restaurant. The Room, meals, bath, service, and smiles were all perfect. My husband was very satisfied as well, and we are truly glad we chose this place for such an important anniversary. Thank you very much.

    Visit Again

    On our previous stay, everything was so wonderful that we returned and made a Reservation for the same Room. Since it’s just after the rain, the ocean view isn’t at its best, but we’re looking forward to our 6:00 PM dinner reservation at Tsuki no Michi—especially the second-floor meat course. From appetizers to the main dish and dessert, everything is unbelievably delicious. We’re truly grateful to the outstanding front-of-house and kitchen staff.

    It was a wonderful accommodation.

    I booked this stay as a gift for my mother. The hospitality, Room, Facility and services, meals, and baths—everything was outstanding. The food was truly exquisite, and thanks to the staff’s thoughtful attention to detail, we were able to spend our time in great comfort. The open-air bath in the Room and the terrace bed were kept impeccably clean, allowing us to relax to our heart’s content. This is an Accommodation I would love to visit again.

    I felt relaxed and refreshed.

    I visited looking forward to the teppanyaki. I chose the alcoholic pairings matched to each dish, and they were truly outstanding—I was deeply impressed. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for accommodating our surprise request as well. You can go to dinner in a yukata here, but I would appreciate a samue-style outfit, as it’s easier to relax without worrying about my feet. I sincerely hope you will offer the samue-style option available at other Fufu properties. The white pajamas feel wonderful on the skin. They are one-size-fits-all, but since I have a larger build, I would be grateful if larger sizes were available. The Room bath overlooks the sea, with a perfect temperature, and I was able to relax on the clean balcony. The Room was bright and well stocked with drinks, so I could spend my time at ease. Everyone provided exceptional hospitality. Thank you very much.

    The view from the Ts...

    The view from the Tsuki no Michi building was wonderful, and the amenities were well stocked. We had a teppanyaki course, and the menu was varied and thoughtfully prepared—very satisfying and delicious. However, the sofa in the Room had stains and felt dirty. Although it was covered with a throw, there was an odor, which was disappointing. I think it would be better to replace it. The staff were polite and made our stay very comfortable.

    Blissful Moments

    This was my second stay. Once again, I felt that everything—the beauty of the lobby, the comfort of the Room, and the delicious cuisine—is truly among the best in Japan’s small luxury Hotels. The staff were also courteous and kind, and I was able to relax wholeheartedly. Even after returning home, I keep thinking about all the wonderful dishes and can’t wait to visit again soon. A variety of drinks are available both in the lounge and in the Room. Thank you very much.

    First visit in two years

    This was my first visit in two years. As last time, I stayed in the Tsukinomichi building and enjoyed meals at Hitoshio. The Room was spacious, and although the open-air bath in the Room was slightly lukewarm, it felt wonderful—I used it many times right up until just before checkout. The meals were also very satisfying, with seasonal ingredients and local seafood prepared deliciously. One convenient change since my previous stay was that checkout procedures can now be completed in the Room, and you can then go directly out to the parking area on the first floor. Thank you as well to the butlers who assisted us at check-in and check-out and during meals for their courteous and kind service. The only disappointing points were that although I had requested a morning newspaper at check-in, it was not placed in the box by the entrance, and although I had informed staff of my checkout time at breakfast, no one came to complete the procedure even after that time—so in both cases I ended up contacting the front desk myself. This seemed to be due to minor communication errors, which was unfortunate. Overall, I think this is a very good Accommodation where you can truly relax, and I would like to visit again.

    We’ll be back!

    This time, we stayed in the Tsuki no Michi Wing. From the pick-up at Atami Station, our stay began with warm greetings from the staff. Some of the staff were foreign nationals, but everyone greeted us pleasantly and took great care of us. The Tsuki no Michi Wing was very quiet and relaxing, and except during meal times we hardly encountered other guests. The corridors were bright, and the atmosphere felt quite different from the main building. Since the lobby floor in the Tsuki no Michi Wing is so beautiful, I thought it would be even better if it had a bit more of a clear purpose or concept. The Onsen in our Room had an abundant flow of water and warmed us through to the core. It truly felt like we were here for therapeutic bathing. We also really enjoyed the teppanyaki meal, and we appreciated your careful allergy accommodations—it allowed us to dine with peace of mind. Thank you very much. It would be wonderful if guests staying in the Tsuki no Michi Wing could also choose Japanese cuisine in the main building for dinner. We will visit again when we have another chance. Thank you for taking such good care of us!

    It was a wonderful Ryokan.

    We stayed at Sekaie for our last trip before giving birth. The Room, the open-air bath, and the meals were all wonderful, and we were able to relax deeply. Since we had mentioned that I was pregnant, we received so many thoughtful considerations, which truly moved us. To all the staff, thank you very much. We were able to unwind completely and feel truly refreshed. After the baby is born, we would love to visit again next time as a family.

    An Extraordinary Escape

    I came here to enjoy a getaway from everyday life. A spacious Room, the ocean right in front of me, and a soothing open-air bath. And the wonderfully welcoming hospitality from the staff. I was able to relax throughout my stay. This is a Hotel I recommend for clearing away everyday fatigue. I would love to visit again.

    Atami Trip

    We stayed at Sekaie, a well-known Accommodation in Atami. The services were excellent and we had a great experience. We stayed in a Room with an open-air bath, and the view was wonderful; the Onsen was very relaxing. The meal was teppanyaki and it was delicious, so we were very satisfied. We recommend staying here when you visit Atami.

    The meals are terrible.

    The meals were unbelievably bad. First, dinner. Starting with such a tiny appetizer, it didn’t create any sense of anticipation. Even the komatsuna, enoki, and dried baby sardines dressed like ohitashi was at a level you could easily make at home. Just when grilled asparagus came out, the later veal sauté (?) was served with white asparagus. I can only question a menu that serves asparagus twice in a row. Even with the rice option—dried baby sardine rice—I strongly felt they were just reusing cheap ingredients. It showed up at breakfast too. The soba had wasabi on it, but they could at least provide fresh wasabi to grate. Though the soba itself was so little it felt pointless anyway. I was also disappointed by the tiny sakura shrimp tempura that looked like scraps. The main filet was so small I was speechless. Dessert had an unnecessarily large number of items (things that can be made cheaply in bulk), and I didn’t feel any attention to flavor at all. Breakfast. A pea shoot salad—decent volume. Then stir-fried lettuce and dried baby sardines. The menu composition makes no sense. A few small side dishes made from low-cost ingredients. Since this is Atami, I think they could at least serve kamaboko, but they were thoroughly committed to serving only low-cost items. The rolled omelet was so thin it made me wonder how many eggs they used and how much they diluted it. There was no egg flavor whatsoever. Grilled hokke. In Izu, I wanted to eat fish unique to the area. No sashimi at all, morning or night. Not even breakfast staples like sausages were included. Dessert again: panna cotta that seems cheaply mass-produced I think there should have been at least some cut fruit—other Accommodations do offer it. At JPY 70,000 per person for the stay, this is the first time I’ve ever had food this bad. That said, the view was great and the Room was nice as well. They are far too full of themselves because of that。 We stayed for our wedding anniversary (we didn’t bother telling the Hotel), but we should have chosen somewhere else。 Isn’t food one of the main things everyone looks forward to when traveling? This is my first time experiencing food this terrible。 More than guest satisfaction, I strongly felt management’s efforts were focused on pursuing profit.

    To be honest, here are my thoughts (^^)

    We always enjoy staying at Atami “Sekaie.” This time, my wife and I visited again after a long while, but the yukata in our Room was quite wrinkled and not suitable to wear to dinner. Also, the yukata length came in only one size, so I ended up dragging the hem as I walked (a bit embarrassing, but I managed). Other than that, everything was excellent, and we truly enjoyed both dinner and breakfast. Thank you very much as well to the staff who served our meals and to the Shuttle Service driver for their kind assistance. We look forward to visiting again.

    Use for a birthday celebration

    From arrival at the Accommodation to departure the next day, we felt a high level of hospitality in every aspect. We were very happy to be able to celebrate a memorable birthday.     Mosquito Control

    The weather was great, and the sunrise from the bath was breathtaking. The food was also very delicious. The birdsong was pleasant, and since there was a screen door, we felt safe leaving the window open, but the screen had a large tear in a hard-to-see area, and by the time we noticed, quite a few mosquitoes had gotten into the Room... We didn’t realize we had been bitten more than 10 times on our arms and legs until just before leaving. We have sensitive skin, and after returning home, my family’s bites became so swollen that they even hurt after scratching. Because it was in a hard-to-see spot, I thought the Facility staff might not have been aware of it. It was disappointing because everything else was very satisfying.

    We enjoyed an excellent meal.

    We enjoyed a meat course grilled on a teppan right in front of us. The time spent waiting for it to cook allowed us to savor the meal at a relaxed pace, leaving us comfortably full. The Room was clean, perfectly sized, and had an ideal layout.

    Your first time in Sekai—both the Room and the meals are wonderful.

    After comparing auberge-style Accommodations in Atami and Hakone, we chose to stay here. We stayed in the Tsuki no Michi building, and both the open-air bath on the balcony and the Room layout were excellent. We had our meals at Hitoshio, and the teppanyaki—full of creative touches—was truly delicious. We used the bar after dinner, and it was almost like having it privately reserved; the staff were very flexible, so we had a great time. I’m surprised more guests don’t use it. Breakfast was also excellent, with a menu that made great use of teppan cooking. As for the large public bath, unless you really want to use the sauna, it didn’t feel particularly necessary. The staff service was outstanding as well. We would definitely love to return.

    The washroom is dim.

    I stayed for one night on May 6. The view from the Room was great, and the private open-air bath in the guest room was wonderful. I also enjoyed both dinner and breakfast. I used the public bath as well, but it was smaller than expected, and I preferred the in-room bath. Overall, I was satisfied, but one thing was disappointing: the lighting at the washbasin. As others have mentioned, there is only dim indirect lighting from behind the mirror, and it is truly dark. Mood lighting may be fine in a bedroom, but the washbasin is where you remove contact lenses and apply makeup—tasks that require good visibility—so having no direct light is difficult. I think this should be improved.

    That’s disappointing.

    Thank you very much for taking care of us. This was our second stay. As before, the location was wonderful and the meals were very delicious. However, when we asked a female staff member to take a photo, her response was disappointing. She did not smile at all and came across as unfriendly. The hall staff also generally did not provide proper hospitality, so we were left with a poor impression. They only gave the standard explanations and never smiled. Because we had a good impression of the staff when we visited previously, this was very disappointing. I hope they will improve through further training.

    This was my repeat s...

    This was my repeat stay. I traveled by train this time, and the Shuttle Service was arranged smoothly. After arriving, I was able to relax in the large public bath all to myself. I spent the evening on the rooftop terrace, then enjoyed a very satisfying dinner of beautifully presented Japanese cuisine featuring seasonal ingredients. Finally, they remembered that it was our wedding anniversary, which I had mentioned before, and surprised us with a dessert plate and a bouquet of flowers—I was truly moved. In my Room as well, I enjoyed the open-air bath many times and was able to rest both body and mind at a leisurely pace. I would love to stay again. Thank you very much.

    Customer Service

    The room service, meal delivery service, and front desk hospitality were all the best I have experienced in my 60-year working life. If printed instructions for operating the in-room lighting had been provided, it would have been a perfect 100 out of 100.
