    Day-Use Onsen and Italian Restaurant

    I wanted to enjoy the Onsen and visited various places, but I couldn’t book a room with a private Onsen bath, so I used the large public bath instead. However, since day-use guests can come from 6:00 to 24:00, it was crowded and I couldn’t relax. It feels like a Facility mainly for day-use visitors. I usually eat Japanese food, so I chose the Italian option. The fish and bread were extremely delicious. The meat was too tough to chew. In the morning, I chose Japanese breakfast because the grilled salted mackerel looked good, but it felt fairly ordinary—honestly, a regular set-meal restaurant might be better. Maybe I should have chosen Italian for breakfast as well. I’m not sure whether solo travelers can stay in rooms with a private Onsen bath, but if I go again, that would be best. It may be best to think of this place as a day-use Onsen and an Italian restaurant.

    The bath is nice.

    I stayed in a Room with a private open-air Onsen, and the bath in the private Room was excellent. Perhaps because it was Sunday, the large public bath was crowded with day visitors, so I decided not to use it. The Room shows some signs of age-related wear, but it is very spacious, and the bed is wide and comfortable. You can soak while looking out at the garden from the private open-air Onsen, and the Onsen water quality is also very good. I have used many private open-air baths, and I would rank this among the best. However, to be clear, the Japanese course dinner included with the stay is not worth it. It’s not so much that it tastes bad as that it feels like sparse countryside cooking. The dishes that regular Onsen guests were eating from the standard menu looked tastier and were cheaper. On the other hand, the Italian-style salad at breakfast was delicious, and the bread from the bakery next door—served there—was excellent, so I bought some as souvenirs. Since the private open-air Onsen is so good, next time I visit I’ll choose Italian food and bread instead.

    The detached Room was nice, but

    Many Onsen Ryokan accept day-use guests, but it is rare for them to share exactly the same hours as overnight guests. As a result, it was crowded and not very relaxing. The dining area was the same (Kasa-an), with people constantly coming and going, which felt hectic. The detached Room (Sugi) was spacious and comfortable, but I could not shake the impression that it felt like a day-use Onsen facility where you can also stay in a nice room.

    Quiet and relaxing.

    We stayed at Aquaignis for strawberry picking this time. The detached Accommodation had many Rooms, and we were able to relax very comfortably. Dinner was Italian in a private room, and both the fish and meat dishes were excellent. It was a little disappointing that the miso soup at breakfast was self-serve. The path from the detached Room to the main building was a bit dark, so it would have been nicer if it were brighter. Also, we would have appreciated one more type of towel. Next time, we’d like to stay at Sosui-kyo. We were very satisfied.

    The Onsen and cuisine are excellent, but...

    The service is consistently disappointing. During check-in, I was kept waiting due to a forgotten key, and the staff spoke too softly, making it hard to understand. Despite being a repeat guest, the bathwater in the room is always too hot, and responses are slow. It raises questions about how customer management is handled. Complaints or issues do not seem to be reported to supervisors or managers.

    Aquaignis Mie - Pine Room

    I reserved a room with an open-air onsen, but unfortunately, due to the season, stink bugs entered immediately. After struggling to remove them, I found more on the bed, in the hallway, and even in the onsen. Despite removing them repeatedly, they kept coming back into the room. Although I closed the curtains, they were slightly see-through, which made me feel uneasy while using the private bath or changing clothes. I couldn't relax in the room at all. For meals, I requested counter-style kaiseki dining. The cooking was done right in front of me in a clean kitchen that enhanced my appetite with detailed explanations and locally sourced ingredients—it was absolutely delicious. The large public bath early in the morning was very quiet and clean; it was wonderful. The bread and cakes were also incredibly tasty.

    I would like to visit again.

    The atmosphere was calm and peaceful, allowing me to relax in the private open-air bath. Since it is a proper Onsen, I plan to try the large public bath next time. The ceiling in the bedroom felt slightly low, which gave a bit of a cramped feeling.

    Relax in Nature

    It had been a while since I last visited Aqua Ignis, which I used when it first opened. The hot spring water was as gentle as ever, and the meals, cakes, and bread were all very delicious. I stayed in the Organic Hanare. The organic loungewear was very light and comfortable to wear. Birds came to visit the garden, creating a relaxing atmosphere that didn’t feel like being in a Hotel. Since I have difficulty walking, the design of the open-air bath in the Room was too stylish for both my grandchild and me to use easily (a handrail or steps would be helpful...). It’s convenient that you can drive directly up to your Room by car. Check-in and check-out were done in the Room without needing to move around, which was very helpful; however, more detailed instructions (or written guides) on operating things like the projector would have been appreciated. Apologies for not being tech-savvy!

    Thank you for another wonderful stay this year. The meals and the room were excellent with nothing to complain about. If possible, having items like bathrobes and extra towels prepared in the room in advance would allow us to enjoy the onsen even more thoroughly. We look forward to staying again.

    Excellent Dinner

    This was my second stay. I stayed in the villa building again, just like last time. The purpose of my visit was to enjoy dinner at Al-checciano. Including the wine tasting, the food this time was also excellent and absolutely delightful. The dishes that bring out the full flavor of the ingredients are truly amazing. The bath area tends to be crowded until late at night due to many day-use visitors, so it’s a bit difficult to relax there. However, both the accommodation and cuisine are outstanding. I will definitely stay here again!

    I had a relaxing time.

    I visited this accommodation for a day trip when my son was in kindergarten, but this time we stayed overnight and enjoyed a relaxing experience. Upon arriving at Aqua Ignis, we had an Italian lunch course at the restaurant and purchased some cakes before checking in. Although check-in starts at 3:00 PM, they kindly informed us as soon as our room was ready. This thoughtful gesture was especially appreciated on such a cold and windy day. During our stay, we used Rufuro and Laxis facilities. My wife loved it so much that she said she wants to visit again. I also found the massage service incredibly professional and relaxing. While we were away, our son seemed to thoroughly enjoy the private open-air bath in our room. Since we chose a plan without meals included, we had dinner at a nearby eel restaurant and breakfast at Mariage de Farine bakery—being able to dine on our own schedule was very convenient. If I may suggest one improvement, having exclusive hours for staying guests would make the experience even more satisfying!

    Meals

    The dinner (pasta) was very delicious. The bread available within the Facility was also very tasty. The Onsen was perfect with its natural hot spring flow and ideal temperature. However, the service at the bakery was somewhat lacking, as the staff seemed tired.

    The service is the worst.

    I have repeated my stay many times, but it was disappointing again this time. Usually, I receive a call at check-in, but since there was none, I went directly to the building and waited, but no one came, so I had to contact them myself. Another issue was that the water temperature in the room bath was too hot to relax, and even though I asked to lower it, it didn't improve at all. There was no sign of anyone coming to check, and I didn't want to keep mentioning it, so I stayed silent. I was surprised that there was not even an apology at checkout. I love traveling and have stayed at various properties, but I have never experienced such service. I witnessed a decline in the quality of the staff.
