    It was a convenient Hotel located in the leisure area of Onna Village.

    Hotel Monterey Okinawa Spa & Resort is located in the hotel district of Onna Village. It faces the main street, and the front desk and drop-off area are on the 3rd floor. If you arrive by car, staff will guide you. Drop off your luggage, park, and then check in. The Hotel was clean, and the staff were pleasant and helpful. As a large-scale Hotel, it offers plenty of facilities: a beach, pools (indoor and outdoor), a kids’ area, a shop, hands-on classes, and various activities. The view from the Room was spectacular. Maybe because we happened to be on a high floor, it had the best view of any place I’ve stayed so far. It was also convenient to have several restaurants nearby. One area for improvement would be breakfast: the dining area felt a bit cramped (tables were very close together), and there were long waits due to crowds. (There are two venues—one was extremely crowded while the other had open seats and was inviting guests in.) Overall, it’s a great Hotel, and I’d like to stay here again.

    I traveled with my elderly parents, and they were very pleased. They were especially delighted that we could have breakfast served in our Room. We would love to stay again next time with our daughters as a family. Thank you very much.

    Although it was a Standard Room, the view from the balcony was beautiful, with the ocean stretching out as far as you could see. The beach was right in front of us, there was also a pool, and there were restaurants nearby, so it was very convenient. The cakes in the lobby lounge included in the Plan were so delicious they tasted like they came from a specialty shop. For smokers, it was greatly appreciated that there is a smoking area on each floor.

    Perfect!!

    We held our wedding at this Hotel two years ago, and this was our third stay, this time with children. The baby room facilities were well equipped, which was great. The hospitality was excellent, and we also received the IKYU Diamond member benefits. I think it was a perfect Hotel stay.

    I’d love to stay here again!

    We stayed for 2 nights and 3 days over a long weekend. It was our first trip to Okinawa with our children (ages 10 and 8), and staying at this Hotel was the key to how satisfied we were. ○Location On the first day, we went straight from the airport to Churaumi Aquarium. The drive there took a bit of time, but since the Hotel is in central Okinawa, we were able to enjoy the aquarium until closing and then have dinner near the Hotel. The main reason we chose this Hotel was that there are restaurants within walking distance (we wanted to have drinks), and we could walk to both the steakhouse and an Okinawan cuisine restaurant we had been hoping to visit! On day two, we did an SAP activity, which was also within walking distance. On the last day, we relaxed at the Hotel until around noon, then headed to Kokusai-dori. It wasn’t far, so we had plenty of time for shopping before our flight. The location is excellent! ○Facilities & Service Booking through the Premium Club was absolutely the right choice. It included access to the spa, heated pool, and tea lounge at no extra charge, plus parking fees—so it worked out better than paying add-on charges later. We also received plenty of coupons for use within the Hotel facilities, which covered most of our souvenir costs. The only downside was that the bath closed at 10:00 p.m., so on our first night we missed using it. I deducted one star because I would have appreciated it being open one more hour. ○Dining We used only the breakfast buffet for two days. I wondered if we'd get tired of having similar options both mornings, but there was great variety and we were satisfied both days. It was also nice that breakfast could be changed to lunch upon request. Overall, our satisfaction level was very high. The kids say not just “We want to go back to Okinawa,” but “We want to stay at this Hotel again!!” We thought it might be a slightly luxurious Plan, but it truly felt worth it—and we'd love to stay again. Thank you very much for such a wonderful time.

    We’ve stayed here with our child for three consecutive years. This time again, we booked the club floor. There isn’t a typical club lounge like you’d find at a Hotel in Tokyo, but there are still some perks, such as free access to the indoor pool. Combined with IKYU’s Diamond benefits, we were reasonably satisfied. The service is generally polite, and even the housekeeping staff we pass in the hallways greet our child properly, which feels very welcoming. We also appreciate the stamp rally program. One point off because the balcony door in our Room was difficult to close. The breakfast selection is average, but they even have Blue Seal ice cream in the morning, which made our child happy. If I had one request, it would be to give club floor guests some priority, as it gets quite crowded. We will stay again.

    It was our first stay, and it was wonderful. Our grandchildren were noisy and may have caused inconvenience, but you were kind and never once looked displeased. The sanshin performance and live music were fantastic. The tea room cakes were delicious, and the masala chai was absolutely amazing. We would love to stay again. Thank you very much.

    We stayed for three nights and had a relaxing time. The location, Room, meals, and staff service were excellent. Considering the value for money, it was the best Hotel we have stayed at so far.

    Company trip

    We stayed for two nights on a company trip. Although it wasn’t the season for swimming in the sea yet, everyone had a great time thanks to the indoor pool, Onsen facilities, and a kids’ play area. We stayed in an Ocean Bathroom room, and there were plenty of amenities and everything we needed to fully enjoy the bath. On the first night we also added dinner; the buffet had an Okinawa feel and a great variety of meat dishes, which was excellent. This was our second stay, and we were very satisfied again this time.

    A Hotel with Warm Hospitality

    Despite being a large Hotel that stands out even from the street, my family told me that at check-in they greeted us by name (Mr./Ms. XX) without us having to introduce ourselves, and that alone won us over. At check-out as well, a minor issue during our stay had been properly handed over, which impressed me. The room was spacious, and four adults were able to stay comfortably. We received spa vouchers and tried it, but it didn’t feel very much like an Onsen and the facilities were small, so I’d recommend it only when it’s not crowded. For dinner we had a Western course menu. We were satisfied with everything—the presentation, taste, portion size, and the restaurant atmosphere. For breakfast we had the buffet twice and Japanese breakfast once. The buffet selection was somewhat limited, and the only live-cooking option was omelets, so it wasn’t particularly memorable. The Japanese restaurant seated us without any wait time, and we liked its calm atmosphere. As mentioned at the beginning, what left the strongest impression was the service on arrival and departure—it was a very satisfying stay.

    We had a relaxing and enjoyable stay.

    I have stayed here several times. The Hotel staff’s hospitality is outstanding. I had breakfast at Zuientei (Japanese cuisine) for three days, and the menu changed each day; everything was delicious and made with high-quality ingredients. I also used the tea lounge, one of the Premium Club benefits, many times—the staff were friendly and it was very comfortable. I would like to stay again in November.

    New Year’s Trip

    We stayed here for the last two nights of our New Year’s trip. We’ve used this Hotel several times before, but it was our first time staying on the club floor, and the benefits were excellent. During our stay, we were able to relax in the lounge and enjoy drinks at our leisure. The view from the Room was also outstanding. The dinner buffet happened to be on a day with a folk music show, which we enjoyed as well. No matter when we visit, every staff member is always very courteous and attentive. In particular, the male staff member at the entrance to the breakfast buffet who called guests forward had such an energetic and pleasant manner that it lifted our spirits first thing in the morning just watching him. This is my favorite Hotel in Okinawa.

    The Room was very clean and I was satisfied, but… it was very disappointing that even though it faces the west coast, we couldn’t see the sunset from either the Room or the restaurant. It was also disappointing that there was no kettle in the Room, so we couldn’t enjoy good coffee there. I used the Premium Club and had coffee before checkout because I wanted to enjoy one last good cup, but… the lounge service felt unpleasant and it ruined everything.

    I would like to stay here again.

    We stayed here for a family trip with our 1-year-old child. Before our stay, we asked about children’s amenities, a stroller, and bed rails. The staff informed us of available items such as deodorizing bags, toothbrushes, and pajamas, so we reserved them in advance. The deodorizing bag is not a small one—it’s more like putting everything into a large bag. We could also borrow extra bath towels and face towels, which made our stay very comfortable. There are places to eat within walking distance, so it was convenient. Since the parking lot is far from the entrance, they drove us there in a shuttle vehicle. The buffet meals were enjoyable with daily rotating menu items. The bread felt like it was from Costco?

    Highly recommended.

    If you’re unsure, I think this Hotel is a good choice. The ocean is right in front of you, which is great. However, since guests come even without much effort, you don’t really see the staff going above and beyond.

    A Relaxing Winter Getaway

    I visited Okinawa again after a long time—not to escape the heat, but to escape the cold. When I stayed at Monterey eight years ago, my room was on the third floor, so this time I requested the top floor. The view was, of course, outstanding, and I thoroughly enjoyed the Onsen and the gym. The drink service in the lounge was also great, but if I had to ask for one thing, it would be nice to have a small snack served as well—then I could give full marks for service. On my flight home, it already felt like a place I wanted to visit again right away.

    The Top Choice for a Family-Friendly Beachfront Hotel

    The room was spacious and very comfortable, and the shower had strong hot water pressure. The downside was that the soundproofing was a bit weak, so I could hear noises from upstairs or outside the door. For some reason, the elevator was extremely slow. For breakfast, remember to make a reservation in advance using the QR code to reduce waiting time. It was a pity to arrive in winter and not be able to fully enjoy the beach, but all the hotel staff were very kind. Overall, it was a very comfortable stay, and I would visit again if I have the chance.

    The view from the top floor was excellent.

    This time, we visited Okinawa Main Island as a family. Since it was the off-season, we fully enjoyed the famous tourist spots. We used IKYU.com to choose our hotel, and the service, Facility, and views were all excellent. However, there seemed to be an issue with the quality of the toothbrush in the amenities (the bristles kept coming out). Looking forward to visiting again during the on-season!

    Our family of three ...

    Our family of three stayed at Monterey for the first time with a two-night stay. Both dinner and breakfast were buffet-style, and everything was absolutely delicious! The roast beef at dinner and dishes made with fresh seafood were so tasty that we went back for seconds. The Okinawa soba had great flavor as well. For dessert, we enjoyed sata andagi mixed with vanilla ice cream and crushed nuts, beautifully prepared at the live kitchen—completely satisfying! Breakfast tacos were also outstanding. Our entire family agrees: staying at Monterey to enjoy the meals is a must!

    Full of resort vibes

    This time, we fully utilized the IKYU member benefits, which started with a room upgrade. The spacious and serene room was well-equipped with amenities, including a variety of bath salts that made the large and comfortable bathroom enjoyable even without an Onsen. As we opted for eco-cleaning during our Multiple Night Stay, we received in-house vouchers as an additional perk to the member benefits. For those like us who don't require alcohol, the cake set and Hotel credit were much appreciated compared to typical all-you-can-drink offers. Despite having school trip students staying at the same time, it was completely quiet throughout our stay. The breakfast buffet offered a wide variety of delicious options. If there's one suggestion to make—since it was a Multiple Night Stay—it would be great if there were slight changes in dessert mini-cakes on different days for an even more excellent experience. This trip added another layer of joy to our Okinawa journey!

    First Stay

    This year, we chose this Hotel for our annual trip to Okinawa for the first time, and it turned out to be a truly satisfying stay! From check-in to check-out, all the Hotel staff were incredibly kind and welcoming with smiles. Traveling with our 2-year-old child was worry-free thanks to their attentive care. On the first night, we dined at the buffet. Since we had a child with us, they kindly suggested and guided us to a seat close to the food area. While my husband went to get food, my child suddenly wanted juice. Although I hesitated about leaving them alone even briefly, I noticed that the drink bar was right in front of us. As I went over quickly, one of the staff immediately approached my child and started talking with them—it was such outstanding hospitality! A young male staff member who provided Shuttle Service to/from the parking lot also mentioned that if we needed anything from our car or had any questions outside of outings, not to hesitate in asking him—everyone's kindness really stood out! The breakfast buffet offered a wide variety of options; however, there seemed to be fewer Okinawan dishes than expected. That said, there were plenty of kid-friendly items like fruits, pancakes, and a kids' corner which was very helpful for us as parents. The view from our Room was fantastic! The upgraded Room we stayed in was spacious and spotless without any concerns about cleanliness during eco-cleaning throughout our stay. We would love to stay here again on our next visit to Okinawa Main Island and will definitely recommend it warmly to friends!

    Second stay

    This was my second stay in two years. The beach is nearby, the Room was clean, and the food was delicious. Although it was during a busy period and somewhat unavoidable, the breakfast buffet was extremely crowded, with too many people using carts to get their food. During peak times, these carts are truly inconvenient as they can cause pain if stepped on or bumped into. I suggest limiting cart usage to less crowded hours. Additionally, we waited for a foreign family to finish using the kids' room before entering with our family. However, balls from the ball pool were left scattered everywhere—even in areas meant for removing shoes—making it dirty and unpleasant. Chairs were also disorganized and messy. It’s disappointing that there seemed to be no Hotel staff monitoring this area; I hope improvements can be made to ensure better management of such spaces.

    I had a satisfying trip.

    The location is a bit far from the airport, but I think it was worth the visit. We reserved two rooms with my wife's parents and appreciated the flexibility in arranging adjacent rooms. The bathroom is not particularly spacious, but as a facility, it was sufficient. Regarding customer service, there was a staff member at the restaurant who had difficulty communicating clearly. We ended up ordering without fully understanding what was included or excluded in the dinner voucher. Later, after finishing our meal, we were given additional explanations and received an extra charge—though not a significant amount—which left us feeling slightly uncomfortable. However, that was the only unpleasant experience we had during our stay. Personally, I found all of the food at the hotel's restaurants to be delicious. Overall, if the quality of service at their restaurants improves slightly more, I believe it would enhance my impression of this hotel even further. Other than that point, it's very close to being 5 stars for me—a solid 4 stars overall. If pricing aligns well during my next trip to Okinawa, I would consider staying here again!

    I felt safe and comfortable using it.

    This was my third stay in two years. As before, I felt safe and comfortable during my stay. The facilities are clean, and the location is excellent. The staff were polite and attentive, making my stay very pleasant. I had one dinner and two breakfasts, which included a variety of Okinawan dishes that were both plentiful and satisfying. The highlight was definitely the view from the spacious balcony. This time I stayed on the 11th floor; although the weather wasn't perfect, I could still enjoy a beautiful view of the sea. The bathroom was great as well—the bathtub was spacious, water pressure from the shower was strong enough, and both bath salts and shampoo had lovely scents that helped me feel refreshed. I will definitely choose this accommodation again when staying in Onna Village next time! Thank you so much!

    The breakfast and the room were excellent.

    The room was spacious, and the balcony was nice. Overall, I was satisfied. Dinner was a buffet, but it wasn't great because the staff didn't understand Japanese well and seemed unfriendly. On the other hand, breakfast was good. The Onsen was excellent. While there were many Chinese guests, it would have been much appreciated if they followed Japanese etiquette.

    First-class service and facilities

    Stayed during the last weekend of November and enjoyed excellent value for money, along with a complimentary room upgrade. The service and facilities were top-notch. Breakfast was a buffet with a wide variety of dishes, offering plenty of options. My friends, visiting Okinawa for the first time, were especially pleased to see local Okinawan cuisine included. Christmas decorations throughout the hotel added to the festive atmosphere. It was a truly wonderful hotel experience.

    Overall, a highly satisfying Hotel!

    I stayed on the Club Floor with my 3-year-old and husband. It was our first time on the Club Floor, but since there was no lounge, it wasn’t as impressive as expected. However, the unlimited drinks at the lobby café were fantastic! I found myself stopping by often even without a reason. The coffee seemed to be made by a machine, but with the beautiful view and lovely tableware, it tasted much better than usual! The staff were all calm and kind. If I had to mention something, I’d say that the pool water temperature was a bit low—it would be great if it could be warmer. Also, having child-friendly toilet seats near the pool would have been helpful; my daughter was too scared to use the regular one. We ended up going back to our Room for her to use the bathroom. We had stayed at another Hotel before this one, but honestly, the food here was much better! The dinner buffet especially had many intricate dishes that left us very satisfied. The Japanese-style breakfast was also delicious! I’d love to visit again if given another chance! Thank you for a wonderful stay. Next time, I hope there won’t be any typhoons (though we did get clear skies on our last day and enjoyed an amazing view from our Room).
