  A relaxing accommodation where you can fully enjoy both the room and the onsen.

  The staff provided attentive service, and the drink offerings were plentiful, allowing for a pleasant experience right from arrival. This time, my Room was upgraded, and I enjoyed a very comfortable stay in a spacious setting. The open-air Onsen was clean with soothing water, and I could relax while admiring the greenery of the garden. I even spotted a small frog resting on the window glass, which added to the serene feeling of being connected with nature. Inside the accommodation, there was a library featuring photo books and picture books where I could quietly enjoy coffee—a truly luxurious moment. The meals were delicious; however, when I asked about some dinner ingredients, it seemed that the staff did not have detailed knowledge and only provided standard answers, which was slightly disappointing. Nevertheless, overall satisfaction was high as it became a wonderful stay filled with relaxation through nature and Onsen. It is an accommodation I'd love to visit again!

Although we are located near the center of Kanazawa, our surroundings consist only of natural landscapes such as fields and rivers. To put it simply, there is nothing here. However, we believe that this "nothingness" is precisely the charm of Takitei. We hope our guests can connect with the rich nature of the countryside, feel the presence of birds, insects, and animals... Relax in our lounge while enjoying a slow-paced time... Pick up a book from our library and lose track of time immersed in reading... We aim for everyone to discover their own way to enjoy their stay. Regarding the service provided by our staff during meal times, we sincerely apologize for any lack of attentiveness. The staff member has been advised accordingly about their oversight.   It was great.

  I recently stayed at "Takitei," a place I had always wanted to visit, and I was extremely satisfied. The warm welcome upon arrival and the prompt email after booking made me feel at ease. The room in "Tatsumitei" that we were guided to was spacious, with large windows offering views of lush greenery. The interior featured warm wooden tones and calming lighting, creating a relaxing atmosphere where we could unwind while listening to music. The onsen within the facility, the semi-open-air bath in the room, as well as the library and salon provided a soothing experience. Both dinner and breakfast were delicious, allowing us to enjoy our meals at a leisurely pace. Thank you to the manager and all staff for your kind hospitality throughout our stay. Next time, I hope to stay in one of the detached accommodations!

  Solo Travel

  Thank you for hosting me during my solo trip to Hokuriku. It was great that the Onsen was not only in the large public bath but also available in the room, allowing me to enjoy it anytime at my convenience. I also appreciated the Diamond Member benefits, such as receiving facility vouchers based on a dice roll and enjoying drinks, including alcohol, in the lounge. It was evident that staff members were working hard and coming up with creative ideas to make this accommodation even better. The meals were enjoyable as well; having them at a counter with a sunken kotatsu-style seating made it perfect for solo travelers like me. Overall, I felt that the cost-performance ratio was excellent. However, if possible, I would appreciate it if you could provide a free shuttle bus from Kanazawa Station once a day. This time, I used a taxi on my way there and took a local bus on my way back, but having shuttle service only to the nearest local bus stop felt slightly inconvenient.

Due to operational reasons rather than cost considerations, we currently do not plan to provide shuttle service to Kanazawa Station. While we understand the strong demand from our guests and wish to meet those expectations, implementing such a service remains challenging at this time. As an alternative, we offer a special taxi arrangement at a partially subsidized rate.   Absolutely satisfied.

  Previously, I visited and had a wonderful experience, so I invited my family and visited again. My entire family was extremely satisfied and returned home feeling blissful. The hospitality of the Ryokan staff was impeccable. The facility had various thoughtful touches, allowing us to enjoy a relaxing time. Thank you very much.   I was very much look...

  I was very much looking forward to staying at this highly-rated accommodation. As expected, the room was excellent, and as a retreat-style accommodation, the library and lounge were enjoyable. The service was also outstanding. Since it is such a wonderful accommodation, one thing I would have appreciated is slippers. Being in a nature-rich area, I noticed a spider walking on the floor in the morning. While most of the hallways are tatami-floored, as someone who isn't fond of insects, having slippers would have been helpful. Overall though, it is an exceptional and relaxing accommodation.

  I searched online. I also received prior contact. As I was undergoing rehabilitation for a knee fracture, the Room and dining area were thoughtfully arranged. A separate chair was also provided in the bathroom, offering excellent service. The response from the manager and all staff members was outstanding! I will use it again.

  Care for Multiple Night Stay

  For the second night, my Room was upgraded, allowing me to enjoy a comfortable stay without the hassle of moving luggage. The meals were presented with such a different atmosphere that I wondered if it was from the same Ryokan, making it an enjoyable experience. This time, I truly appreciated the excellence of the open-air bath in my Room. From start to finish, the attentive yet unobtrusive service and thoughtfulness were deeply appreciated.   Bath

  The hospitality was excellent, but the only downside was the lack of baskets or containers to carry clothes when going to the bath, which meant having to carry undergarments directly. While it is undoubtedly a first-class Ryokan, other first-class Ryokans usually provide such items. Therefore, I had to rate the Facility slightly lower.

  We’ll definitely see you again someday.

  This was our first stay since last November. Even though it was mid-June, it was sunny and as hot as midsummer, but we were able to relax at a leisurely pace again this time. We truly enjoyed the delicious meals, and we were also able to soak in the Onsen in the large public bath almost as if it were private, as we rarely overlapped with other guests. What makes Takitei so wonderful is its memorable hospitality. We are grateful that you remembered us again during this stay; when a family member twisted their ankle and we mentioned it on our way out, you kindly provided a compress and showed great concern. We also decided at short notice to take a taxi to a sightseeing spot, and even after checkout you looked after our luggage—thank you for your attentive support in every detail. Next time, I would like to stay in the separate annex Saigawa Room where we stayed for the first time at Takitei more than 10 years ago. We will continue to support you.

  This time at Takitei...

  This time at Takitei, we were so excited that we arrived more than 30 minutes earlier than the check-in time due to unpredictable travel time by car. When we decided to wait in the parking lot, a Hotel staff member kindly came out and allowed us to check in early. We felt both grateful and apologetic for their hospitality. Throughout our stay, all the staff greeted us with smiles and kind words whenever we passed by. The meals were all delicious, served at the perfect temperature—hot dishes hot and cold dishes cold—and featured flavors that could never be replicated at home. Even for our family of big eaters, both our eyes and stomachs were completely satisfied. We've stayed at many places before but often felt they lacked something or weren't worth revisiting. However, as soon as we left Takitei, every family member said they definitely wanted to come back again. One small issue unrelated to Takitei itself was that IKYU.com mentioned face masks as part of the amenities, but they were not provided. When I mentioned this at the front desk, I was told it had been discontinued six months ago. It would be great if such information could be updated accurately on IKYU.com. Despite this misunderstanding, Takitei graciously provided an alternative amenity set for us. Thank you so much for two truly relaxing days!

This spring, we discontinued providing face masks but instead began offering L'Occitane skincare sets for female guests as well as dedicated skincare sets for male guests. Additionally, we created exclusive amenity pouches to enhance guest satisfaction and usability. Even after your stay, we continuously introduce new amenities with heartfelt efforts to ensure a fulfilling experience for all our guests.   We sincerely appreciate the exceptional hospitality that exceeded all expectations.

  Originally planning for a one-night stay in Kanazawa, we decided to extend to a multiple night stay after reading the reviews. From the warm welcome, explanations at the lobby, room guidance, and consultation on how to spend two days—every staff member at this ryokan was truly wonderful. The space was impeccably clean and designed with relaxation and comfort as its core concept, ensuring guests never feel bored. The room was absolutely perfect. The temperature of the open-air bath was excellent, and I enjoyed it multiple times. The floors throughout the facility were safe, clean, and well-maintained; even with my elderly mother accompanying me, there were no concerns during our stay. Whether it was at the entrance, salon area, footbath space, garden gallery or library—every corner brought happiness. And of course—the cuisine exceeded all expectations in both taste and volume! My heartfelt thanks go out to the head chef and all staff members for such an incredible dining experience. Additionally, I deeply appreciate all of the support provided by the manager—it left a lasting impression on me. This is truly an exceptional ryokan that made me repeatedly think "Japan is amazing!" Although part of me wants to keep this place a secret (haha), I wholeheartedly recommend Takitei Ryokan if you visit Kanazawa. Thank you for providing such memorable experiences! I'll work hard so that I can revisit either later this year or next year! Please remember us until then!

  The greenery was beautiful, and we enjoyed a peaceful stay.

  We stayed here to celebrate my mother's 77th birthday. The Room (with a semi-open-air bath), the meals (each dish was carefully prepared, with mild seasoning, and served in warm or cold dishes matching the contents and seasonal hospitality), the large public bath, lounge, and footbath all made for a very comfortable stay. The dinner was accompanied by detailed explanations of each dish. Upon departure, our luggage was kindly carried to the parking lot. We would definitely love to visit again!

  Golf Activities

  Thank you for staying with us. This time, we stayed with the "Premium Grilled Fatty Nodoguro Plan." As described in the plan, both dinner and breakfast featured fatty nodoguro, and the kaiseki cuisine offered a wide variety of dishes that were very satisfying! However, if I may point out one thing, there was a small concern about some bones remaining in the vinegared hamo dish. That said, the staff at the ryokan and our room attendant were wonderful, making our stay very comfortable. It’s such a lovely ryokan that we would love to visit again!

  It was a wonderful stay.

  I finally had the chance to visit Takitei, a place I’ve always wanted to go. As soon as I made the Reservation, I received a warm email that made me excited even before arriving.   From Reservation to Departure

  Upon making the reservation and a few days before the stay, we received courteous communication regarding shuttle service to the bus stop, food allergies, and preferences. The staff remained consistently polite and attentive throughout our stay. The accommodation featured numerous relaxation spaces where we could unwind while enjoying scenic views. The room was spacious, clean, and offered a relaxing experience with beautiful views from both the open-air bath and bed. We visited Kanazawa this time to enjoy delicious seafood dishes. Our meal included grilled Nodoguro (blackthroat seaperch), which was impressively large and incredibly tasty. Other dishes were also delightful. Many of the tableware pieces were Kutani ware, while lounge tea cups featured elegant NIKKO designs or cut glassware, adding a special touch. The coffee in the library corner on the second floor was excellent; however, it was disappointing that the coffee on the first floor seemed instant or less refined in comparison. It would be great if they could serve similar quality coffee as on the second floor. For those unfamiliar with buses like us: note that only Bus No. 10 stops at "Sue." Be cautious when planning your route! On your way here, consider visiting "Ishikawa Prefectural Library," which is remarkable! Additionally, within walking distance from this accommodation is Ishikawa Prefectural Center for Buried Cultural Properties—offering various hands-on experiences worth exploring!

  It was a comfortable space.

  A year after my previous stay, I received a reply to the review I had written back then. Hearing about the newly established library, I decided to visit again. This accommodation was already one of the best in the Tokai region during my first visit, and this time reaffirmed its excellence. The staff are well-trained and always greet guests warmly whenever they meet them. The dinner service is handled by many young staff members, likely university students from nearby institutions. Their work here seems like a great opportunity for social learning, as they are thoroughly trained. There are two lounges offering views of either Saigawa River or the garden, where you can enjoy coffee. In the evening, local wine is also served at the lobby lounge. From the open-air onsen, you can see a waterfall; from your room's bath, you can enjoy views of the garden as well. The meals were exceptionally delicious. Now about their library—named "Tumu"—it features novels at its front and manga further inside; it’s an entire room dedicated to books! It’s impressive if someone has read all these books alone; there were even niche titles like *Kachikujin Yapoo*. On the second floor is an art book room where you can relax with coffee and massage chairs. This ryokan is located along Saigawa River in Ishikawa Prefecture—a culturally rich area known for its libraries—and it truly reflects that charm. It’s definitely one of those accommodations I’d love to revisit. Unfortunately, it rained during my trip so sightseeing was limited to visiting Ishikawa Prefectural Library and Museum instead—but if you're driving to Takitei Ryokan, I highly recommend stopping by this beautiful library that has been recognized among "the world's must-visit libraries." There’s something special about holding a physical book in your hands! For instance, I couldn’t resist buying *Watashi Series* by Kaoru Kitamura with cover illustrations by Fumiko Takano—it was too captivating even before reading it! Although not photos of Takitei itself, I'll upload some pictures of this stunning library for reference!

The main library, "Shoko Tomu," was initially a project we almost gave up on due to the damage caused by the Noto Peninsula Earthquake. However, thanks to the encouragement and support from many people, we were able to complete it through great effort. This makes it all the more special for us. After overcoming challenges during the COVID-19 pandemic, Takitei has aimed to create a place of relaxation under the theme of "Reading × Satoyama," combining this new library with our second-floor Library Lounge "Komorebi." By collecting books across various genres—novels, poetry collections, manga, art books, and photo albums—we hope to provide guests with enjoyable moments during their stay at our accommodation. Although gathering these books was no easy task, we take pride in having created a library that lives up to Kanazawa's reputation as a "City of Literature." We plan on continuing to expand our collection in the future. With this cherished library and its valuable collection made possible by everyone's support, we look forward to welcoming guests here for years ahead.   Memorable Hospitality

  Thank you once again for your heartfelt hospitality. The koi fish under the floor of the room greeted us with their wide-open mouths. Watching them compete for food felt like witnessing a form of martial arts, showcasing their way of life. The dishes made with seasonal local ingredients were delicious, and the explanations added to the flavor of the meal. Above all, we were deeply moved by the thoughtful celebration for my 80th birthday and my wife's 77th Kiju celebration, complete with purple and yellow hats and coats. The photo we took with our daughter is a priceless gift. Thank you so much. This is an accommodation we would love to visit again!

  We arrived by taxi, ...

  We arrived by taxi, and from the moment we stepped out of the car, everything was perfect—from the warm welcome to every detail. Both I and my girlfriend were pleasantly surprised! After waking up early, traveling to Kanazawa, and sightseeing, we were quite tired but managed to relax completely during our stay. The food, room, onsen—everything was absolutely amazing! My girlfriend especially loved the onsen and even mentioned that it was such a wonderful place that she felt like writing a review! Also, while everyone was great, the manager in a suit left a particularly good impression with their smile and way of speaking. I hope we can visit again someday.

  Wonderful Accommodation

  Stayed here to celebrate a 60th birthday. The onsen with a view of the waterfall was charming, and the meals were delicious with portions so generous that they might be too much for some women. The lounge, offering drink services, was cozy and comfortable. Above all, the hospitality of the staff was exceptional. To commemorate the occasion, our room was upgraded, we received a special gift, and many staff members offered their congratulations. For women, amenities like ReFa hair dryers, shower beds, and L'Occitane products were delightful touches. It became a truly memorable stay!

  Extremely satisfied!

  It was my first time, and staying for just one night felt too short to fully enjoy the ryokan, which was very disappointing. It truly was a wonderful accommodation.   A wonderful accommodation that I would love to visit again.

  I stayed alone at the accommodation. In a situation where accommodations for solo travelers are limited, I was able to make a reservation at a reasonable price and received very comfortable service during my stay. First of all, the hospitality of everyone at the ryokan was excellent. From arrival to shuttle service, I experienced heartfelt care. As expected from its name "Takitei," the view of the waterfall from the onsen and the sound of cascading water were exceptional. Both dinner and breakfast were incredibly delicious. I heard that there are repeat guests or those who prefer to stay longer without much sightseeing, and I completely understand why. Whenever I visit Kanazawa, I will definitely come back here (or rather, I want to visit Kanazawa just to stay at Takitei). Thank you so much. I look forward to visiting again in the future!

  Enjoy another delightful stay at Takitei!

  Listening to my wife's wish to visit Tatsumitei again, we returned after a year. Greeted with a warm smile by the parking staff, we entered the facility. After checking in, we were told, "We also have samue available if you'd like," which delighted my wife. She immediately picked one up and headed to our Room, saying, "This is great!" as it wasn't available last year. Just like before, the serene Room and relaxing atmosphere filled our hearts. Next was the large public bath. While gazing at the waterfall and feeling a sense of unity with nature, I enjoyed moments of complete relaxation for both body and mind—this is it! This feeling is truly the highlight of this place! After bathing, I cooled down in the library "TOMU," which wasn't here last year either. Surrounded by rabbit motifs and immersed in Taisho-era romance while reading books made me feel as though I had been transported to another dimension. Then came dinner time. Starting with various appetizers followed by seasonal sashimi, firefly squid, Kano crab... each dish paired perfectly with local ginjo sake that was so smooth I ended up drinking more than planned. The peak was reached with Noto beef shabu-shabu before finishing off with rice, soup bowl, and dessert—a perfect finale! Once again impressed by the chef's meticulous care in every detail. After a short rest back at our Room's private bath where we soaked up more travel vibes before enjoying restful sleep. Waking up to spring scenery visible from our Room brought an unusually refreshing morning—perhaps thanks to this Room's unique ambiance? Heading over for breakfast felt comforting just reading through its menu while savoring flavors from Noto Peninsula’s specialties along Japan Sea coastlines including Kaga & Kanazawa cuisine—delicious enough that I found myself talking aloud! Finally relaxed further within lounge space post-meal until checkout greeted warmly yet again departing staff thinking “Ahh fully enjoyed Takitei once more!” leaving completely satisfied heading homeward journey ahead…

  The meals are...

  Everything except the food was perfect. The food was disappointing and not up to the standard expected of an accommodation of this level (I apologize for my honest opinion).

  The Hidden Retreat of Kanazawa

  A nice Room where you can hear the gentle sound of the Saigawa River. Free drinks are available, and the coffee was delicious. To make it even better, we would like to suggest two improvements: having more varieties of premium sake (Daiginjo) as there is currently only one very expensive option, and removing sashimi from breakfast.

  It was truly a memorable experience.

  We used this Ryokan to celebrate my mother's 60th birthday. Among the Ryokans in Kanazawa, we chose Takitei for its outstanding reviews. Although we were unsure about how to get there by bus from Kenrokuen, they kindly provided clear directions over the phone. We had booked a room with no specific preference, but they graciously upgraded us, which made my mother very happy. From the initial guidance to our stay at the Ryokan, their hospitality was exceptional and made our time there truly comfortable—I realized this is what true hospitality means as mentioned in the reviews. Both the private bath and large public bath were spacious and relaxing, and dinner was served at just the right timing by a staff member, allowing us to enjoy it fully. On our way back home, my mother mentioned wanting to come again for another celebration; I now understand why this Ryokan has so many repeat guests. This is definitely a place I recommend for celebrating special occasions with your family or loved ones!
