    The open-air bath is amazing.

    We visited in mid-April as two close middle-aged friends. At the end of a road lined with rice fields on both sides! We were shown to the lobby and given a full explanation... They were kind and courteous, but we felt it could have been a bit more streamlined... Dinner was kaiseki cuisine. A young male staff member brought each dish and explained it... honestly, we would have preferred service from a female attendant. Overall, it was an Accommodation worth the price. However, the dining area was a small private room, and an unpleasant pub-like smell lingered inside, which was disappointing! If we could have opened a window during the meal, we might have enjoyed the food even more. We also used the lounge, but ventilation there was poor as well, so we didn’t feel like staying long.

    My first stay at Tak...

    My first stay at Takitei, in the Tatsumi-tei Room. The Room features a luxurious Japanese-modern design, with a calming interior centered on warm tones and tasteful lighting. It also comes with a scenic-view bath using Onsen water, allowing me to fully enjoy the Onsen in a private, relaxing space. The amenities were well stocked, and I was especially happy that every Room in the property is equipped with a ReFa hair dryer. The large public bath includes an open-air rock bath where you can soak while looking out at the cascading waterfall. The lush fresh greenery is wonderful, but so are the rising steam, the powerful sound of the falls, and the complete absence of unnecessary noise—everything about it was truly unmatched. It’s rare to find an open-air bath that leaves such a lasting impression. I went with high expectations, and it exceeded them by far. Dinner was kaiseki cuisine made with ingredients from Kanazawa and neighboring Toyama, prepared to bring out each ingredient’s natural flavor—it was delicious. The inner garden harmonizing with nature and the footbath by the waterfall are elegant and beautiful. They’re lovely during daylight hours as well, but even better at night when the lights come on after sunset—refined without being showy. It felt like true Japanese elegance. I was also impressed that throughout the property—by looking out from places like the lobby, in front of the large public bath area, and from the dining venue—the windows were meticulously cleaned right up to their edges. By way of note: there were also in-house vouchers for Diamond members and a one-drink service at dinner, which was appreciated. When I visit Kanazawa again, I would absolutely love to stay here again. I had no idea such an outstanding Accommodation existed in Kanazawa.

    Kanazawa’s Finest Accommodation

    Takitei’s staff hospitality is truly exceptional. It has been a long time since I’ve stayed at an Accommodation that felt this comfortable from start to finish. This time we stayed in a detached Room, and it was a very comfortable space with a wonderful Japanese atmosphere. The open-air bath was also fantastic, as it is fed by natural Onsen water. The lounge offered a great selection of drinks and snacks, and we used it many times. There was even a capsule-toy-style snack machine, adding a fun touch (you can use it for free with the coins provided nearby). Both dinner and breakfast were flawless in both quantity and quality. Everything was delicious, and we felt completely satisfied in body and mind. Thanks to everyone, we were able to relax to our heart’s content throughout our stay, and we are truly grateful. We would love to visit again with our family.

    Not very senior-friendly (I am 81 years old).

    The bedding was a futon, and it was difficult for me to get up, so I asked to have it changed to a folding bed. Please include photos on IKYU’s listing site showing the bedroom (including the bedding setup). The dining room had a sunken kotatsu-style seating area, which also made sitting down and standing up very difficult for elderly guests with weak legs and hips. This is one of the Accommodations I never want to stay at again.

    I was deeply moved by the warm hospitality.

    The Accommodation, renovated as part of the post-earthquake recovery, was very clean and beautiful. Our Room was upgraded thanks to our Diamond membership. We were able to relax and enjoy the well-maintained courtyard and the open-air Onsen with a waterfall. The private in-room Onsen bath was kept at a comfortable temperature at all times, so we enjoyed it many times. We also enjoyed our meals in a private dining room at a leisurely pace. The special lounge next to our Room even offered alcohol—everything was taken care of. From arrival to departure, we felt warmly welcomed. These days, it feels rare for even a Ryokan to provide this level of hospitality. If we have the chance to visit Kanazawa again, this is an Accommodation we would love to stay at again. Thank you very much.

    A Fun Girls’ Getaway

    Thank you very much for everything. Four of us, who were classmates in high school, stayed for one night. We were very satisfied with the bath, the Room, and the meals, and we were able to make many wonderful memories. Thank you again. If we have the opportunity, we would love to stay again together.

    A Relaxing Day

    Although this Ryokan was in the suburbs of Kanazawa with nothing around it, it offered plenty of well-equipped spaces to enjoy and relax, such as free drinks, alcohol in a separate Room, a wide selection of books, and an in-Room Onsen bath. The meals were kaiseki (often not very filling at other places), but here the portions were very generous and everything was delicious—we were extremely satisfied. One issue was that the bath drainage wasn’t working properly, but when we contacted the front desk they responded very quickly, which was great. We had a wonderful day.

    This Japanese garden-style hotel is absolutely stunning!

    Open the window to a courtyard filled with weeping cherry blossoms—soft pink petals drifting down like spring snow, with a babbling stream and mossy stone paths, as if you’ve stepped into a Japanese painting. The rooms are spacious and elegant, the service is warm and attentive, and the butler-style hospitality is exceptional. The garden landscaping is beautifully crafted, with thoughtful details everywhere—from deer sculptures to lush moss and greenery—making every stroll deeply soothing. Whether you’re here for cherry blossoms, hot springs, or pure relaxation, it’s a perfect fit and an Accommodation not to be missed in Japan. We’ll definitely be back!

    It was a wonderful accommodation.

    I have been visiting Kanazawa every year since the earthquake, and stayed here as I wanted an Accommodation with an Onsen. My wife had knee surgery a few years ago, so we requested a first-floor Room, and they kindly assigned us the Room closest to the entrance. The Onsen was wonderful, and the view from the Room was great. The meals were delicious, generous in portion size, and we were very satisfied. Above all, what truly stood out was the hospitality of the staff. They casually helped carry our luggage and took photos for us—everything was excellent. When we visit Kanazawa again, we would love to stay here again.

    Used with the same Plan for the second time.

    This was my first stay in three years, and I booked the same Plan as before with grilled nodoguro (blackthroat seaperch) seasoned with salt. The meal was very delicious last time, but unfortunately it felt like an average Ryokan meal this time. Because my expectations were high, I was disappointed. Also, the attendant who showed me to my Room seemed rushed. I felt the Facility explanation was insufficient. I believe the other staff were attentive as well, but it wasn’t at an exceptional level. As mentioned in other Reviews, there are many steps and level changes throughout the Facility.

    We visited as a three-generation family. It was a wonderful Accommodation that everyone could enjoy, from my elderly father to my 4-year-old daughter. We were very satisfied with the meals! The location from the Room was amazing, and the private open-air bath attached to the Room was fantastic. The cherry blossoms had just started blooming, so if it had been a few days later, we could have enjoyed bathing while viewing them in full bloom—what a shame (haha). Thank you very much for everything!

    It became an unforgettable memory.

    I chose this Ryokan for my first trip with my mother, who lives far away in Kanto while I live in Kyushu. Thank you very much for upgrading our Room. It was wonderful, and both my mother and I were truly moved by your thoughtfulness. The open-air bath in the Room felt amazing. The Onsen and footbath were also close to our Room, and I really appreciated that consideration as well. We were completely satisfied with everything—the food, service, Onsen, and more. We also had a great time relaxing and chatting in the lounge while enjoying the free drinks and snacks, and it was wonderful that there was Chicken Ramen available as a late-night snack too. We were also grateful for the Shuttle Service to the bus stop. My mother and I promised we would definitely come again together, so we will be back for sure. Thank you very much for your truly wonderful hospitality.

    It became an unforgettable memory.

    We checked in early and enjoyed a relaxing morning. The large public bath was available all night, the open-air bath in our Room was wonderful, and the meals were delicious—I wished I could stay here forever. Choosing drinks and snacks in the lounge was also a lot of fun. I’d love to come again.

    The Onsen is amazing.

    I returned for the first time in 10 years, and the waterfall-view bath—swollen with snowmelt—was outstanding. Every dish was of high quality, beautifully presented and perfectly seasoned; truly what you’d expect from a fine-dining Ryokan. What disappointed me was that some staff members were not very friendly. I don’t need excessive cheerfulness, but even a bright “Good morning!” when passing in the hallway would have made the stay feel even better. The student servers were pleasant and welcoming. Also, while I understand it can’t be helped due to extensions over time, there are many steps and level changes, which may be difficult for elderly guests. Thank you for taking care of us.

    Relaxing stay close to Kanazawa Station

    Above all, it was the crab—crab. It was delicious. The Onsen was just right, and in the relaxation area they even had alcohol prepared, along with snacks—everything was taken care of. I went home completely satisfied, and it gave me energy for work starting the next day. Thank you for your hospitality.

    I’d love to stay here again.

    It was probably fully booked over the long weekend in November, but it was quiet and I was able to relax very slowly. From the Room’s large window, I enjoyed the courtyard and pond while using the massage chair, then unwound in the Room’s hinoki bath. The meals were generous—I was completely full. It was amazing (lol). A snowy-view bath at the large public bath in winter? This has become an Accommodation I’d love to visit again.

    A Soul-Soothing Onsen Accommodation

    Whether with family or solo, I’ve visited Takitei before. This time, we stayed for two nights to celebrate my best friend’s 60th birthday. After record-breaking cold and heavy snowfall, we enjoyed snowy views from our Room, the open-air bath in the large public bath, and the lounge. Perhaps due to the snowmelt, the waterfall was especially full, and even in midwinter we occasionally opened the window to enjoy the sound of the falls and the crisp air. The Onsen water is gentle, leaving your skin smooth after bathing. The Room at Tatsumitei has an indoor shower booth, which is recommended in winter. Meals are served in a private dining room—always delicious without fail… pure bliss. During our stay there was also a lounge with complimentary drinks, so we were able to spend our time comfortably without any inconvenience. The young staff member who served our meals seemed quite nervous—perhaps still getting used to things. It’s fine as long as mistakes aren’t rude, but I think a bigger smile and speaking up a bit more would make it even better. It became a trip to remember.

    See you again next year.

    Last time, I stayed on the same date two years ago, but it felt like spring and I couldn’t see the snowy scenery I had hoped for. This time, I was happy to finally enjoy the winter landscape. Takitei is one of the top three Ryokan experiences of my life, and both my first stay and this one" were truly relaxing. I personally love the meals here. After my last visit, I promised myself I would come back to eat this rice again, so although it ended up being two years later, I’m glad I made it happen. The salad dressing is delicious, but unfortunately it isn’t sold—what a shame. The evening lounge also offers plenty of snacks and drinks; you really won’t want for anything. I plan to make a Reservation again for the same date next year. Until now I’ve only visited Ryokan in autumn and winter, but this stay has made me think about coming in other seasons as well—not just for the snowy scenery. If I get a chance in spring or summer, Takitei will be my first choice. It’s that wonderful an Accommodation.

    Winter Family Trip

    Every year around this snowy season, our family goes on an Onsen trip. Last year, we stayed at a Ryokan on the Oga Peninsula through IKYU. When we stopped by Kanazawa on the way back from Kaga Onsen 6–7 years ago, there was no snow at all—so this time we wanted to see Kanazawa in the snow. With excellent Review ratings for the Onsen, meals, and everything else, we chose Takitei. In a word: everything was wonderful. The outdoor bath at the large public bath was at just the right temperature, and I appreciated thoughtful touches in the changing area such as two vanity stations with hair dryers and even gold-leaf facial lotion—something many women will value highly. The open-air bath in our Room was a little hot at first, but it felt perfect while enjoying the cool air outside. My son especially loved how spacious and relaxing it was; he said he could truly unwind and enjoy his own time with a beer. The Room was more than spacious enough, and details like a massage chair, chairs, and a couch sofa made it easy to relax throughout our stay. The meals were satisfying both in quality and volume for dinner and breakfast. The seasonal tableware and presentation were beautiful, and each dish felt carefully prepared—right down to dessert. From sashimi to soups, grilled items, simmered dishes, pickles—everything met our expectations, and our whole family kept saying “Delicious!” As Diamond members, we also enjoyed great perks: a dice game (shopping vouchers usable at the shop), a celebratory drink including a full bottle of ENOTECA wine, and discounted taxi fare for our return trip—all very generous. We also enjoyed the complimentary drinks (including alcohol) in the lobby lounge as well as free drinks and snacks in the Sakura Lounge. The tomato juice and grape juice were especially delicious. The monaka sweets placed in our Room had an elegant sweetness—we liked them so much that we bought some as souvenirs. The snowy view of the Saigawa River from our window was truly beautiful. With tatami flooring throughout most of the property it was easy to walk around comfortably, and we could feel attention to detail everywhere—in furnishings, flower arrangements, calligraphy displays, and more. The staff provided attentive yet unobtrusive service; after check-in they did not ride up with us in the elevator but took the stairs instead—a small thing my husband noticed as evidence of excellent staff training. It had been a long time since all of us agreed on giving full marks to a Ryokan like this. Next time we would love to visit during autumn foliage season.     As expected from Hokuriku’s top-ranked accommodation.

    As of February 2026, this Ryokan is ranked No. 1 in Hokuriku on IKYU. I was lucky to find availability in the Hanare Saigawa Room and was able to make a Reservation. This season in winter is extremely popular. Since it was a special occasion, I chose the luxurious live Kaga crab Plan. They offer a Shuttle Service to the nearest bus stop, but I wanted to make better use of my time, so I took taxis from and to the station. The ride there cost around 4,000 yen. On the way back, thanks to a Diamond benefit (I think), the Accommodation provided me with a fixed-fare ticket, which made it a great deal. Right after arrival, I was shown to the lounge by the entrance and served sweets and tea. As a Diamond member, there was also a very fun event in addition to drinks—it made me feel like I was hosting my own show. After check-in, I relaxed at my Room and visited the large public bath at an unhurried pace. Guests staying in the annex have access to an exclusive lounge that is open until midnight. Drinks are not stocked in the Room refrigerator, so you can bring them from there—or bring your own. I bought alcohol from the vending machine near the large public bath and via room service. If you plan on drinking more seriously, it may be best to stock up in advance at a convenience store or at the station. From check-in through check-out, every part of the service felt genuinely pleasant. It was wonderfully relaxing and made for an ideal holiday. If I may share one small request: because it’s so easy to unwind here (in a good way), adding apps like Netflix or YouTube on the Room TV would make this Accommodation even better. I would appreciate your consideration.

    This is my third stay.

    I had always given up because it was fully booked, but thanks to a rare heavy snowfall, I miraculously secured a reservation and visited with my husband to celebrate his 60th birthday. As onsen accommodation enthusiasts, we have visited many places both inside and outside the prefecture, but this time everything matched our preferences perfectly. The availability of samue (traditional Japanese loungewear), no need for indoor slippers, access to the large public bath all night long, bath towels provided in the large public bath, free coffee available anytime, and an open-air onsen in our room—these alone were more than satisfying. On top of that, the food was incredibly delicious; all staff members were very pleasant and attentive; complimentary drinks were offered at the lounge at night; and there was a library stocked with manga, novels, photo books, etc. The room we stayed in this time was as spacious as a hotel suite. It allowed me to enjoy late-night baths or read manga borrowed from the library in the inner room without worrying about disturbing my husband sleeping on the bed—it was truly comfortable. Additionally, as someone who likes to check their weight during trips, having a health scale in our room was another big plus for me. Overall, compared to previous visits here before last time or even earlier ones before that one too—this accommodation has clearly upgraded various aspects over time! It’s evident they are constantly striving for improvement. This is truly an amazing accommodation. If I get another chance someday—I would absolutely love returning again!

    It was the best stay.

    This was undoubtedly the best stay among all the Ryokans I have visited! Despite heavy snow, the Shuttle Service ensured a smooth arrival. From the warm welcome upon arrival to the attentive service throughout our stay, everything was consistently pleasant. The view of the snowy landscape from our Room and open-air bath was breathtaking and truly moving! Combined with the skin-smoothing hot spring water, it made for a luxurious experience. The meals featured plenty of local ingredients such as Noto beef and fresh seafood. The sashimi served in snow-inspired dishes felt uniquely Kanazawa, and paired perfectly with sake. The lounge was well-equipped, allowing us to relax all day long. This is an Accommodation I would love to visit again in a different season. Thank you very much!

    I had a relaxing time.

    The service was excellent, and the meals were very satisfying. They adjusted the meal serving pace according to our preference, which we appreciated. The grilled nodoguro was prepared at our pace, and the additional jibuni dish was delicious. The selection of local sake also added to our satisfaction. The view from the Room was great, and we enjoyed relaxing in the private lounge. However, we noticed that when someone used the smoking room, the smell lingered as we passed by. Also, there were no drinks in the refrigerator; it would be nice if some were provided even for a fee. The Room we stayed in had an outdoor washing area, which wasn't suitable during wintertime.

    Ultimate Relaxation

    This was my third stay. It’s usually hard to make a Reservation, but I happened to see an opening, possibly due to a cancellation, and quickly made the Reservation. The meals were delicious, the customer service was excellent, and on departure, they provided detailed explanations about nearby tourist spots at the bus stop for each guest individually. I truly understood why it’s so difficult to secure a Reservation here. I hope to stay again in the future if I can successfully make a Reservation... This is a Ryokan I can highly recommend to everyone.

    A perfect base for exploring Kanazawa.

    Stayed for 2 nights. On January 8th, the young staff member who assisted us on the first day was very attentive to details and left a great impression. The impression of an Onsen accommodation can greatly depend on the staff. While high-end accommodations generally provide polite service, offering thoughtful and guest-oriented care without being overbearing is rare, and this was what stood out most during our stay at your property. Thank you also for accommodating my wife's allergies and for your concern when she suddenly felt unwell—almost every staff member showed their care. We look forward to visiting again when we travel to Kanazawa next time.

    Thank you for staying with us again after a long time.

    I visited this accommodation over 15 years ago and had always wanted to return, so I was delighted to come back. The high-quality onsen and delicious meals remained unchanged, which made me very happy. The room was equipped with a semi-open-air bath with a washing area, a sofa, a bed, and floor heating—everything necessary for a comfortable stay. Thank you for your kind gesture regarding the dice game where I rolled a one. One disappointing aspect was the dining area being at the counter (though it had lovely views of the garden and felt semi-private with noren curtains). However, from that position, voices from what seemed like the kitchen or serving room were clearly audible. During dinner time, I didn’t mind much as it sounded like typical lively instructions about drink orders or meal preparations—almost like an izakaya atmosphere. But during breakfast, there seemed to be an argument among staff members? It caught me off guard quite significantly. An older female staff member appeared to be criticizing a younger female colleague about having too few employees compared to guest numbers. The tone of her words came across as outright harassment: "If you think you can do it alone without us helping you," "Do you think sitting around lazily will get things done?"—it was unbearable to hear such remarks. The younger staff member couldn’t respond back; she looked pitifully helpless in that situation. It left me feeling upset early in the morning. Even if her points were valid factually speaking—there’s always an appropriate way of expressing them. Fifteen years ago when I stayed here previously—a Nakai-san who handled our meals mentioned she temporarily came over from your affiliated ryokan in Wakura Onsen; she left such an unforgettable impression due to her exceptional service quality! Reflecting upon those memories now makes me wonder whether things have changed personnel-wise since then—it feels disheartening somehow... This is truly an excellent accommodation overall though—I sincerely hope everything improves further by my next visit!

    I appreciate your support, but...

    This was my return stay at the accommodation. My previous visit was during summer, but I couldn't use the open-air bath in the room due to a large number of frogs, which I am not fond of. As a result, I hadn't returned for about two years. This time, being winter, I assumed there would be no frogs and decided to make a reservation after a long time. After filling out the guestbook, one of the staff asked me if it was my first time staying at this accommodation. I remembered reading in another review that they had recognized returning guests before, so this made me feel slightly uneasy. Previously, meals were served in private dining rooms within the restaurant; however, this time they used what seemed like regular guest rooms as dining spaces. While all staff members were friendly and welcoming with smiles on their faces, it seemed there weren't enough personnel available—the wait for our first drink after making a toast took quite some time. Additionally, there were delays in serving each dish during our meal service. The restroom lock in that guest room was broken as well; although we were using it privately among ourselves only—it still bothered us enough to walk quite far away towards another functioning toilet facility instead. Regarding food quality: During past visits every dish left memorable impressions—but unfortunately nothing stood out particularly special or noteworthy throughout dinner tonight—leaving someone like myself who looks forward eagerly toward culinary experiences feeling somewhat disappointed overall.
