    Wonderful!

This was my first stay. The staff always stopped to bow when passing by, and greeted us whenever we met in the hallways. Their attentiveness and polite manner made us feel very comfortable. Above all, their hospitality was outstanding. In the large public bath, it’s common to see ReFa hair dryers on the women’s side, but the men’s side also had ReFa hair dryers—something I think is very rare! The Room was clean, and every part of the property was spotless. The hospitality was perfect! The Onsen was wonderful and melted away all my fatigue. The temperature of the open-air bath in the Room was just right—everything was simply perfect! This was the best Ryokan I have ever stayed at. I will definitely be back. It was only one night, but thank you very much.

We stayed here as a family during the Obon holidays. The Ryokan was clean throughout, and the meals were delicious—we were very satisfied. All of the staff were kind and helpful, and we truly appreciated it. We would love to stay again.

    It was a wonderful accommodation.

Although we live locally, we had never had the chance to visit Takitei, so we stayed here for the first time as a celebration of our 25th wedding anniversary. Everyone on the staff, including student part-time workers, was wonderfully attentive, and we had a very pleasant stay. Our Room with a semi-open-air bath was comfortable, and both dinner and breakfast were delicious—we were completely satisfied. With only a small number of guest Rooms, the Accommodation has a calm atmosphere unique to smaller properties, and we were able to relax at ease in the public bath and lounge as well. As it was a commemorative stay, we also received warm hospitality that made it an especially memorable experience. Next time, we would like to come for lunch or stay again in a different season.

    This is my second stay.

Last year, I stayed at Tatsumitei for the first time and was very satisfied. I had also been curious about the annex, so this year I stayed there. As before, both dinner and breakfast were served in a private dining room, and I thoroughly enjoyed the delicious cuisine. The Room had high ceilings and felt spacious and relaxing; from the window we could admire the greenery of the trees and views of the Saigawa River, while enjoying the sound of the flowing water as time passed peacefully. In the Japanese-style room, there was a raised floor chair provided, which made it comfortable to spend time there. The open-air bath could be used without worrying about time, allowing us to unwind completely. The casually arranged flowers throughout the building were soothing, and we also enjoyed various crafts and carefully selected lighting fixtures. Thank you to all of the staff for your courteous service. I would definitely like to stay again next time.

The furnishings are nice, but the meals were disappointing.

The staff are courteous, and both the common areas and guest rooms are well appointed. The lounge is also a relaxing space. However, the food was generally heavily seasoned: at dinner the roast beef was served cold, and at breakfast most items other than rice and miso soup were already set out by the time we sat down, with dried fish grilled over a solid-fuel burner. The quality of the meals and how they were served felt unbalanced compared with everything else, which was disappointing.

An Accommodation that both adults and children can enjoy

The grounds are spacious, with many thoughtful touches throughout, and I was able to relax and enjoy a comfortable stay. There was a book Room, a footbath while watching the waterfall, a lounge, and complimentary snacks and drinks… The meals were delicate and delicious, the service was attentive, and the Room was clean. I also booked an aroma massage; the therapist kindly listened to my small talk, which was very soothing. As a downside, during check-in different staff members came one after another, and having to repeat the same information each time was a bit tiring… There were many guests so it couldn’t be helped… Next time, I’d like to visit this Accommodation again with a few friends.

    We had a relaxing time.

I chose this Ryokan after reading Reviews on this site while looking for a good Ryokan in the Kanazawa area. From welcome to farewell, the staff’s attentive hospitality was truly appreciated, and I was able to relax and unwind throughout my stay. There were complimentary drinks in the lounge, and I also enjoyed the library and footbath. At the dining area, we could spend time comfortably in private rooms without worrying about others, and both dinner and breakfast were excellent. The semi-open-air bath attached to the Room felt wonderful on a summer night, making this one of the Accommodations I would like to visit again. I stayed in a second-floor Room; just one request—when going downstairs, the anti-slip strips on the stairs felt uncomfortable underfoot.

A relaxing Accommodation where you can truly unwind and enjoy your stay

We visited as a couple. After enjoying the city of Kanazawa, we checked in at 16:30. The lounge access included in our Plan was wonderful. The lounge was limited to just two parties, and we were able to relax with complimentary drinks (including alcohol). The Onsen water was gentle, and we were very satisfied with the clean vanity area, which also had a ReFa hair dryer and hair iron. Dinner and breakfast were excellent—the taste, portions, and tableware were all lovely—and we truly felt glad we chose this Accommodation. Next time, we plan to stay in the annex. Of course, the staff were polite and kind throughout, and we would love to come again.

    Wonderful hospitality

When we made a Reservation without specifying a Room, they prepared a very spacious Room for us, and we were able to relax until the 11:00 check-out. The cuisine featured seasonal local ingredients, delicately seasoned and thoughtfully prepared—refined and delicious. Dining in a private room meant we hardly encountered other guests, and the service was smooth and attentive. My husband and I would love to stay again someday for a celebration or special occasion.

    We’ll definitely be back!

On this trip to Kanazawa, we originally planned to stay at a Hotel near the station and enjoy dining out, but it felt like something was missing without an Onsen. Since we were driving anyway, we were able to make a Reservation for Takitei’s separate villa Saigawa, so we didn’t hesitate to add one more day off and book it. It’s a well-known Accommodation with plenty of YouTube videos, and the more we researched in advance, the more excited we became. We left Tokyo while it was still dark and checked in early. Because I had requested a nap ahead of time, the futon had already been laid out. We immediately enjoyed the in-room bath and took a nap until dinner. Later, several staff members said things like, “You started early this morning, didn’t you?”—it was reassuring to see how well information is shared among the team. The meals were delicious as expected; in particular, the grilled nodoguro (blackthroat seaperch) was so good that my wife and I fell silent as we savored it. When staying in a Room with an in-room bath, I usually visit the large public bath early in the morning—and this time I was able to enjoy Takimi-yu all by myself. Breakfast was also excellent. After soaking in the in-room bath again and again, I made our next Reservation before checkout—something I’ve never done before. We managed to book the same separate villa Saigawa again, and we’re looking forward to snowy scenery and a crab course meal next time as well. Thank you again—we can’t wait to return!

    We had a relaxing stay.

With a typhoon approaching, I hesitated to go out, but I’m glad I decided to visit. The Room layout and bath were comfortable, and I also enjoyed using the large public bath. The meals showed thoughtful attention to detail, and it was clear how much care went into them. The lounge area was well maintained and always kept neat whenever I visited. Thank you as well for your consideration regarding the checkout time.

    Satisfied

Stayed in a Room with an open-air bath. I had previously experienced mosquitoes and other insects getting into the Room from the open-air bath, so I asked for countermeasures. Although it was a last-minute request and there was already a plug-in mosquito repellent available, they promptly provided a spray-type repellent as well, which allowed me to relax and feel at ease. With the wonderful atmosphere of the Accommodation, well-equipped Facilities, and the chance to enjoy a truly relaxing time, I would love to stay again.

    Family-friendly for toddlers

After being pregnant and giving birth, I visited Takitei again for the first time in a while. My child had just turned two, so I was worried about whether amenities for toddlers would be available, but everything was well prepared—from a diaper disposal bin to a yukata—which made me very happy. The yukata was the perfect size, and my child was delighted to wear one for the first time. Both dinner and breakfast were generous in portion and included items my child enjoyed. We also had a private dining room with toys provided, so the adults could relax and truly savor the meal as well—it became a wonderful memory. The care they showed toward my child exceeded my expectations, and it reminded me just how exceptional Takitei is.

    Genuine Hospitality

We stayed here to celebrate my elderly father’s birthday. These days, many Hotels and Accommodations offer only superficial service, but this was a truly wonderful Accommodation where we experienced the genuine hospitality that Japanese people have cherished for generations. The meal was an outstanding kaiseki course featuring mainly local ingredients and a strong sense of the season—and above all, it was delicious. Thank you very much to the head chef. Because dinner was served in a private dining room rather than in our Room, we were able to relax and enjoy quality family time without any hesitation. The Onsen had excellent water quality and, most importantly, was kept impeccably clean. We could feel the thoughtful attention to detail everywhere, and we enjoyed it very comfortably. From arrival to check-out, each staff member’s warm hospitality and consideration made this stay a lifelong memory. My father was absolutely delighted. In an era when things can feel system-driven and profit-focused, this is a remarkable Accommodation where you can experience authentic comfort and healing reminiscent of earlier times. We would love to visit again in every season. To all the staff: please take good care of yourselves, and keep up your wonderful work with pride—your genuine hospitality truly reaches us guests. I stay at many Hotels and Ryokan throughout the year, but for now this is No. 1. I will be recommending it to friends as well.

    Personally,

Stayed in a detached building. Although it’s called “detached,” it’s a separate wing with multiple Rooms grouped together. It was probably calmer than the main building, but I woke up in the morning to someone’s footsteps. The hot spring water quality was surprisingly effective for relieving fatigue. The river view from the in-Room bath was excellent, and small birds perched on the trees right in front of me. The shampoo also seemed to be original and had a wonderful scent. However, the washroom smelled like sewage all morning, and I struggled—having to hold my nose just to go to the bath. Also, while the meals were appropriate for the price, the lounge selection felt limited. I also got bitten by insects in several places (understandable since it’s along the river). I can understand why it receives high ratings on IKYU, but unlike others, I found it difficult to praise it wholeheartedly.

    Western-style room with a semi-open-air bath

Both the Facility and the Room were very clean, and I had a comfortable stay. The scenery around the Accommodation was also lovely. The semi-open-air bath was excellent as well. My Room had two chairs, but personally I wasn’t sure how best to make use of that space. Also, when lying on the bed, a pillar blocked the TV from view, which bothered me a little. The food was delicious and exceptionally high quality for a Ryokan meal. I would like to visit again if I have the chance.

    It was very relaxing.

We stayed in a second-floor Room at Hanare Saigawa. There were two lounges available, and we could enjoy drinks in the lobby lounge until 11:00 PM. The open-air bath in the Room is not free-flowing, but it was very relaxing to soak at a comfortable temperature while listening to the river. It was a little hot at first (43°C), so we asked for it to be lowered once, which made it just right. We used the large public bath only once. The chlorine smell in the indoor bath was slightly noticeable (sweat). The Room was clean and had a massage chair, so we could unwind comfortably. My husband raved about dinner, and both breakfast and dinner were delicious. From Takimidai, we enjoyed viewing a beautiful waterfall surrounded by fresh greenery, and the greenery seen from the Room and lounges felt truly refreshing. It took about four and a half hours by expressway from home, but we would love to visit again.

    A Long-Awaited Return Visit

I remembered staying here more than 15 years ago, and since it’s a nearby Accommodation, I made a last-minute Reservation. Overall, it was a bit disappointing. The service was very good—everyone was courteous and attentive from pickup through checkout. However, the Facilities do feel somewhat dated. They are well maintained, and there were no inconveniences. The biggest disappointment was the meals. I know tastes vary, but they didn’t suit me. The portion size was just right, but the basic broth flavor didn’t work for me. I especially looked forward to the “Jibuni,” but it wasn’t what I expected. Since it’s a local dish from my hometown, my expectations were high. If only the food had suited my taste, I would have made this my regular Accommodation—but unfortunately not this time.

Perfect for a girls’ trip—nothing but satisfaction.

This was my third stay. I truly felt relaxed—thank you very much. The sound of the waterfall and the birds in nature was simply wonderful. The staff are incredibly warm and welcoming. If possible, I’d love to stay for two nights. Someday I’ll make that dream come true.

Thank you very much for all your thoughtful support.

The bath was great. I can see the lounge is making an effort to offer local items, but I think it could use a bit more creativity. The jibuni was delicious, but I wasn’t particularly impressed by the other dishes or the overall menu composition. In particular, I’d like to see more effort put into the soup course.

I stayed at Takitei for a Multiple Night Stay.

I had long wanted to stay at Takitei, ranked No. 1 in Review ratings, and decided to book a Multiple Night Stay for a relaxing getaway. Unlike the sleek, modern Hotels you often see these days, it retains the feel of a traditional Onsen Accommodation while being newly renovated throughout. The Japanese-modern design was stylish and inviting. Since the entire building is tatami-matted, you can walk around without slippers—something uniquely Japanese. The bathing hours are also long, so you can enjoy the baths whenever you feel like it. When I mentioned that I would not be going out on the middle day of my Multiple Night Stay, the manager kindly arranged complimentary access to a private lounge, which I truly appreciated. Above all, because I spent so much time at the Accommodation, many staff members spoke to me during my stay, which made me very happy. As for the meals, the portions were so large that I felt uncomfortably full afterward. I understand that everyone’s appetite is different, but I would have loved a Plan with smaller portions while still offering great quality. Even so, the staff’s outstanding hospitality was wonderful—thank you very much for taking such good care of me.

    Excellent

We stayed for two nights to celebrate my mother’s birthday. We received such generous service that we almost felt undeserving—an upgraded Room, lounge service, and a birthday gift. They were attentive to every detail, and it felt like everything we hoped for was fulfilled. Of course, the meals were delicious and we were completely satisfied. We didn’t go out during our stay; just enjoying lounge coffee while looking outside, and browsing the artwork and book collection in the Accommodation was more than enough to keep us entertained. It truly is a wonderful Accommodation, just as the Reviews said. For anyone who wants to enjoy great food and spend quiet, relaxing time, this is the perfect Accommodation. If I may offer one request—perhaps I simply couldn’t find them—but it seemed there weren’t any cookbooks (cooking), so I would appreciate it if you could consider adding some. We will definitely return.

    The staff’s smiles were wonderful.

This was our second stay. This time, I stayed with my mother. We were comforted by the staff’s warm smiles, just as always. Thank you for helping me search when I misplaced the Room key along the way—I was relieved when we found it. The food was delicious, and my mother was very happy. As you get older, having an open-air bath in the Room is truly appreciated. Next time, I would like to visit with my husband. Thank you very much. We were also happy to find Kaga plum wine available in the lounge!

    The open-air bath is amazing.

We visited in mid-April as two close middle-aged friends. At the end of a road lined with rice fields on both sides! We were shown to the lobby and given a full explanation... They were kind and courteous, but we felt it could have been a bit more streamlined... Dinner was kaiseki cuisine. A young male staff member brought each dish and explained it... honestly, we would have preferred service from a female attendant. Overall, it was an Accommodation worth the price. However, the dining area was a small private room, and an unpleasant pub-like smell lingered inside, which was disappointing! If we could have opened a window during the meal, we might have enjoyed the food even more. We also used the lounge, but ventilation there was poor as well, so we didn’t feel like staying long.

    My first stay at Tak...

My first stay at Takitei, in the Tatsumi-tei Room. The Room features a luxurious Japanese-modern design, with a calming interior centered on warm tones and tasteful lighting. It also comes with a scenic-view bath using Onsen water, allowing me to fully enjoy the Onsen in a private, relaxing space. The amenities were well stocked, and I was especially happy that every Room in the property is equipped with a ReFa hair dryer. The large public bath includes an open-air rock bath where you can soak while looking out at the cascading waterfall. The lush fresh greenery is wonderful, but so are the rising steam, the powerful sound of the falls, and the complete absence of unnecessary noise—everything about it was truly unmatched. It’s rare to find an open-air bath that leaves such a lasting impression. I went with high expectations, and it exceeded them by far. Dinner was kaiseki cuisine made with ingredients from Kanazawa and neighboring Toyama, prepared to bring out each ingredient’s natural flavor—it was delicious. The inner garden harmonizing with nature and the footbath by the waterfall are elegant and beautiful. They’re lovely during daylight hours as well, but even better at night when the lights come on after sunset—refined without being showy. It felt like true Japanese elegance. I was also impressed that throughout the property—by looking out from places like the lobby, in front of the large public bath area, and from the dining venue—the windows were meticulously cleaned right up to their edges. By way of note: there were also in-house vouchers for Diamond members and a one-drink service at dinner, which was appreciated. When I visit Kanazawa again, I would absolutely love to stay here again. I had no idea such an outstanding Accommodation existed in Kanazawa.

    Kanazawa’s Finest Accommodation

Takitei’s staff hospitality is truly exceptional. It has been a long time since I’ve stayed at an Accommodation that felt this comfortable from start to finish. This time we stayed in a detached Room, and it was a very comfortable space with a wonderful Japanese atmosphere. The open-air bath was also fantastic, as it is fed by natural Onsen water. The lounge offered a great selection of drinks and snacks, and we used it many times. There was even a capsule-toy-style snack machine, adding a fun touch (you can use it for free with the coins provided nearby). Both dinner and breakfast were flawless in both quantity and quality. Everything was delicious, and we felt completely satisfied in body and mind. Thanks to everyone, we were able to relax to our heart’s content throughout our stay, and we are truly grateful. We would love to visit again with our family.
