You can spend a quiet and relaxing time. It's great to enjoy the snow-viewing bath, but perhaps because it's cold, the temperature of the Onsen is low. The food is also delicious with local ingredients, but the portions are small.

    A bit disappointing

I was very much looking forward to this trip to conclude the year, and made a reservation with great anticipation. The onsen was wonderful, and the food was quite inventive. However, it was disappointing that the Wi-Fi was not available (even after inquiring, it was ultimately no good), and other room facilities had dead batteries or were inadequately cleaned. I understand that maintaining an old facility is challenging, but...

    You can visit anytime.

I revisited after a year and a half. The scenery was good, the bath was good, the food was good, and the atmosphere was pleasant. I was able to relax. Mt. Tanigawa (Tanigawadake) showed its face just a little in the evening.

I used it for my daughter's first birthday celebration.

We used it for our daughter's first birthday. The Room with an open-air bath was perfect for enjoying the view while bathing with our daughter. The food was also very delicious. Since the venue was a private Room, we were able to handle our daughter's monster mode. All the staff were very kind, allowing us to relax and enjoy our stay with peace of mind. Thank you very much. We would love to use it again.

    The best Stays

The temperature of the onsen is just right, and all the meals are delicious and offer great value for money, making it the best property.

It is truly unfortunate that the Tanigawadake Ropeway was closed for inspection.

The sound of the rain hitting the tin roof outside was quite loud at night, and the meals were a bit too much for the elderly. Most importantly, we had planned to enjoy the scenery by taking the Tanigawadake Ropeway the next day, but it wasn't operating due to ski preparations or maintenance. Although it was our mistake not to check in advance, it significantly reduced our enjoyment. Additionally, there was a conversation at checkout about being charged for snacks we didn't remember buying at the shop, which greatly marred the impression of the trip. However, the bath was excellent.

Accommodation with Views of Mount Tanigawa

The Accommodation had a great view, and the Onsen was also excellent. However, areas outside the Room, such as the hallways, were very cold. The meals didn’t suit my taste, but there was a wide variety of dishes.

    The facility is old ...

The facility is old but well-maintained. All the staff are kind and courteous. Notably, the cuisine is very creative and well-researched. Their approach to avoid the typical dishes often found in Onsen Ryokan is commendable.

    We anticipate your needs.

The gentle onsen water flowing directly from the source is simply the best. Especially the open-air bath, which is lukewarm, allows you to relax without getting dizzy from the heat. I've become a complete fan and have been visiting two to three times a year for the past few years. It's not a new property, but it's well-maintained, always clean, and has a sense of cleanliness. Even the tap water is onsen. The bath faucets also provide onsen water. A cold water pot from the valley is also delivered to the room. In addition to yukata, sleepwear is also provided, showing thoughtful consideration. The 10:30 AM checkout time at this onsen stays is also a delightful point. I definitely want to visit again.

A stunning property nestled deep in the mountains of Minakami Onsen!

I visited for my grandmother's recovery celebration! We were able to relax and enjoy the 100% natural flowing onsen with a spectacular view, and the whole family was thoroughly satisfied. The entire building has a historical feel, but it is so clean that it doesn't feel old, and the meals were also very satisfying. It was a property where we were very satisfied with the onsen, the meals, and the leisurely time spent. Thank you very much for your hospitality!

The location and Onsen are excellent.

I visited this Stays for the first time in July this year. From the exterior, it only seemed like an old building, but after staying, I realized it was a wonderful Stays. I returned with my brother in October and again with my wife this month. We stayed in different Rooms each time, but from every Room, we could view Mount Tanigawa, making it a Stays with the best location. The Onsen is also excellent, with a natural hot spring that is "not diluted," "not heated," "not circulated," "no bath additives," and "no disinfectants." The shower in the bath (water pressure is slightly low) and the tap in the Room also provide Onsen water, which is drinkable, making it the best Onsen Stays. The meals were delicious, but for us senior couples, the portions were a bit too large, and we couldn't finish them, which was very unfortunate. Next time we visit, we plan to skip lunch. The staff's service was excellent, and the cost performance was very good, so we would like to visit this Stays again.

The food was very delicious. Both dinner and breakfast incorporated Western elements into Japanese cuisine, so it never got boring. The Room's open-air bath was spacious, and when soaking in the tub, you could see Mt. Tanigawa right in front of you, which was very pleasant. It would have been nice to have an explanation about adjusting the water temperature in advance. It would be even better if replacement towels were provided.

The view of Mt. Tanigawa and the autumn leaves from the Room was beautiful. The sunrise over Mt. Tanigawa was magnificent. Mt. Tanigawa reflected in the open-air bath, and the starry sky was also beautiful. This scenery is luxurious. The service was pleasant, and the food was delicious. The pureed soup, breakfast tortilla, omelet, and miso soup were very tasty.

Unfortunately, the rain and the less vibrant autumn leaves this year were disappointing, but the Onsen and the wonderful cuisine made it a satisfying trip. Breakfast was not a buffet, allowing us to enjoy it leisurely. I would like to stay again if there is another opportunity, given the reasonable price.

    I was able to relax.

It was my first Onsen visit in a while, and I was able to truly relax. As many have mentioned, the Facility is old, but it is well cleaned. I was greatly soothed by the pleasant Onsen and delicious meals. However, the footing in the open-air bath is dangerous, so I think it would be better to have a handrail. I will visit again. Thank you very much.

    Thank you for your hospitality.

We stayed in a room with a bath. The Onsen was very pleasant, and we could stay in it forever. Unfortunately, due to the not-so-great weather, we couldn't see Tanigawadake from the room. The meals were more than enough to eat, but we enjoyed the taste of everything.

    Indoor bath, no Onsen

Onsen Stays at the Inn Deep in Minakami The onsen is lukewarm due to the source being 43 degrees, not recommended for those who like it hot. You need to soak for 30 minutes, or you'll feel cold. Checked in at 2:30 instead of the scheduled 2:00. Upon bathing, found only 10cm of onsen water in the hinoki bath. Upon closer inspection, the plug was tilted and had come out. It seems it was forgotten to be tightened during daily cleaning. After tightening the plug and informing the front desk, they said, "The previous bather must have accidentally pulled it out." It's impossible for a 10cm plug to come out easily in a 50cm deep bath, yet they baselessly blame the customer, showing no awareness as an onsen inn. I visit onsens 3-4 times a month, but this was the first and last time here, showing a lack of care for the blessings of the earth. The spring quality is drinkable but lukewarm, with no alkaline feel despite a pH of over 8, neither good nor bad. The food served in a private room is not bad. There are some misses, like a cold tortilla-like dish, but overall it's okay. The guest room beds are not good, with single beds having sponge-like mattresses and pillows. This is not a single apartment, so they should pay attention to the bedding. Popular inns use Simmons pocket coils, which were once patented and exclusive to Simmons, but now even Nitori has similar ones. I won't stay at inns cheaper than my home. The building is old, with many steps and uneven corridors.

    Nice view, delicious food!

An onsen trip in the autumn, unfortunately, the weather wasn't very good. Checked in and completed the procedures in the lounge, with a view of Mount Tanigawa right in front of us, it was lovely. The scenery must be amazing during the fall foliage season! The room was very clean and had a calming atmosphere, it was renovated and looked nice. I think it's good. The room had a semi-open-air bath, but the onsen water was quite lukewarm. They say it's good to soak in a lukewarm bath for a long time, but I felt cold while in it. I thought it would be nice if the onsen could be adjusted to be warmer. Also, the shower had weak pressure, which was quite stressful. I think it would be quite difficult for women to rinse their hair. The large public bath and open-air bath were lukewarm and cold, so I moved to the indoor bath, where the cypress bath was warm and nice. However, the shower was still weak and uncomfortable. Overall, I didn't think the onsen was very good. As for the meals, they were wonderful. Matsutake mushroom dobin mushi and chestnut rice that made you feel the autumn, among other things. I thought the steak would be fatty because it was marbled, but when I tried it, it was light and had an amazing taste. The seasoning was also to my liking. Breakfast was also delicious with egg over rice and omelet, making me want to eat more rice from the morning. It was very delicious. The meals were perfect. I think it's a good inn.

It was a very comfortable trip!

Thank you very much for taking care of us this time. I visited Minakami Onsen when I was a child, but it had been a long time since then. I excluded areas overflowing with people due to inbound tourism and found Minakami Sansou, which is surrounded by lush greenery, has natural hot spring baths, rooms with (semi) open-air baths, and is not a buffet. It was fantastic! I took my aunt and mother, who have trouble walking, and although we gave up on the large open-air bath, they thoroughly enjoyed the room bath. The service during meals was also excellent, making it a pleasant one-night, two-day trip. I would love to visit again! But I'm sad because it seems difficult to make a reservation...

The view from the room was amazing.

I brought along someone who isn't used to traveling for this trip, and they were so impressed by the wonderful scenery and the excellent bath that they were able to sleep soundly for the first time in a while. They returned home moved and eager to travel again. The onsen with free-flowing hot spring water (which can also be drunk) was great, and it had the charm of what seemed to be a long-established inn. I recommend it.

I was able to indulge in luxury.

I stayed for consecutive nights. On the first day, I arrived around 2 PM and was able to take a bath right away, so I headed to the open-air bath under the blue sky. I had decided to stay at the inn on the second day. For lunch, we were kindly offered rice balls. With those in hand, we each indulged in reading books and manga that we usually don't have time for, or quickly went to the large public bath or indoor bath during available times, enjoying a luxurious time. Since everyone has written about the excellent baths, meals, and rooms, I will also mention the refined hot springs and the warm welcome from the inn's staff. Being like a hidden retreat in the depths of Tanigawa Onsen, the scenery is beautiful, and the water you soak in, surrounded by nature, is pure and free of any additives. I believe the pleasant stay is due to the friendly yet considerate service. I hope to visit again someday.
