I am a returning guest who absolutely loves Haimurubushi.
This was my first visit since the renewal opening. In short, while the facilities have improved, the service has become impersonal, leaving an impression of a distant luxury Resort Hotel. I couldn't feel the nostalgic warmth of Haimurubushi Kohama Island and returned home with a sense of unease. The removal of Sunset Plaza was particularly disappointing—it used to evoke a serene feeling as if time had stopped on Kohama Island. Another letdown was the restaurant buffet setup, which seemed overly focused on efficiency from the hotel's perspective while disregarding guest convenience. There were no carts for carrying dishes or even trays for plates; it felt like being told to carry each dish individually to your table far away because "this is not a buffet." As an elderly guest, I found this confusing and inconvenient. By the time I reached my seat, food had cooled and drinks were nearly spilling—has hotel management ever experienced dining in such conditions? I've never encountered such feelings at any so-called luxury hotel before. Additionally, menu options at the beach café have decreased significantly, as have products in the shop. I sincerely hope Haimurubushi can return to its warm and welcoming atmosphere from before! Otherwise, this will be my last visit.

I stayed at a Resort...
I stayed at a Resort Hotel to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city (late September 2025–). On the same day, it overlapped with a TV shoot, so I couldn’t enjoy my meal in a relaxed atmosphere. I understand it was during a renovation period and a reasonable season to invite TV coverage, but I would like more consideration for other guests. Other than that, I was generally satisfied.

Paradise
I was able to relax and unwind as time seemed to pass slowly and peacefully. It was such a wonderful place that I found myself thinking, “Am I abroad?”—my excitement quietly soared. I could truly feel the staff’s spirit of hospitality, and the service was exceptional. Even the linen and landscaping teams welcomed us with warm smiles and friendly waves—simply outstanding. However, one disappointment on the facilities side was that the stairs from the poolside down to the beach have no handrail. It was also disappointing that the cart that used to be available at the buffet venue is no longer there. At Fusaki, which I visited the next day, it seemed that the same type of cart is being lent out to guests with limited mobility, and it does look very useful. Please understand that for some people, having this or not makes a world of difference, and I sincerely hope you will bring it back.

The upgraded Haimurubushi!
This was my 8th visit, and it has become even better after the renewal! The lounge, restaurant, and all the facilities have been upgraded. Especially the restaurant—while there are fewer menu items than before, the taste has improved significantly. I could hear people at various tables saying "Delicious!" and "Everything tastes amazing!" The staff's hospitality was excellent as always, and I was delighted to reunite with a lounge staff member who has been there for a long time. I understand there may be challenges, but I sincerely hope you can maintain this level of service. Thank you so much for always welcoming me warmly. I'll visit again soon—please continue to take care of us!

Renovated?
I was really looking forward to staying after the renovation. However… I’m sorry to write something disappointing. ○ Why was it necessary to change the logo? Even a friend who loves Haimurubushi said the new logo doesn’t feel familiar. ○ As many others have posted, because the food stations and seating in the buffet venue are far apart, I had to go back and forth many times (and there were no trays, which didn’t help). The buffet menu was almost the same every day, so I got bored of it. As soon as I sat down, I was asked for my drink (beer) order, but it was served while I was still choosing food, so the foam disappeared and I couldn’t enjoy it at its best. The beach restaurant menu is also different from before and has fewer items. With limited options, I ordered something like pizza, but it felt more like a snack… 1,800 yen for this? It didn’t fill me up at all. The center building restaurant menus are all expensive. I was shocked by both the limited selection and the prices. Also, packing buffet items into bento boxes is now breakfast only. It used to be available for dinner as well… ○ The shop had very few products available, which was disappointing. ○ It would be even better if there were a wipe towel at the washbasin. What was good ○ I was happy that an infinity pool and sauna were added together. Even if my body got cold in the pool, being able to use the sauna afterward helped with keeping warm. ○ Staff service Your hospitality and attentiveness were wonderful. That said, it would be nice if you could say something special to guests who have stayed more than 10 times—it really makes you want to come back. ○ In the morning near the stage area, there was a free bath salt station where you could choose your favorite scent. A pleasant fragrance filled the property—very nice atmosphere! Those are my impressions. With this renovation, Accommodation rates have been set quite high. We used to stay here once or twice a year, but we won’t be able to visit as often going forward. If meal variety and pricing improve, I’d like to visit again—but we may not return. I’m truly grateful for everything during our stay and feel sorry saying this, but I hope you will use this Review as feedback for improvement.

The Best Hotel
A dream Hotel I had wanted to stay at for years. Finally, I had the opportunity to visit Kohama Island this time. When I decided to go, the Hotel was still under renovation, but they kindly sent me an email when reservations became available, which was very much appreciated. After staying here, my impression is that it truly is an exceptional Hotel. The food is delicious, and the hospitality of all the staff is outstanding. There’s a beach nearby, rental bicycles are available, and there are plenty of activities you can book directly through the Hotel. Everything was perfect. Above all else, the starry sky viewed from within the Hotel grounds was breathtakingly beautiful beyond words. This is a truly wonderful Hotel where you can experience Kohama Island's amazing nature firsthand. I would highly recommend it to both family and friends and will definitely come back again!

I had a relaxing stay.
We received a discount as part of the renewal pricing, and not only were the center building and pool very clean, but the Room was also comfortable. We were able to enjoy a relaxing 2-night stay. The cart was very useful and added a bit of fun to our experience. Thank you very much. We were also satisfied with being able to clearly see the stars on the first night late at night.

We had a comfortable stay.
Although the weather wasn’t great during our stay, we were able to spend our time comfortably thanks to the well-equipped Facility. Overall, we were satisfied, but for further improvement, the amenities felt a bit lacking compared with Hotels of a similar level. We would be happy if outdoor footwear such as beach sandals were provided in the Room. As for meals, we’d love to see a wider selection of local island ingredients (sashimi, sea grapes, etc.). When it rains heavily, getting around by rental cart leaves you completely soaked, so we’d appreciate some kind of countermeasure. For the block sauna, the notice at the entrance seemed to say that löyly was not allowed, but on the last day a löyly set was provided, so the rules didn’t feel very clear. Also, the sauna temperature was low; it would be even better if it could be improved to around 90°C. Despite all that, we were satisfied and would like to visit again when the weather is nice!

Newly Renovated
I stayed at the accommodation again this year, just like last year. Although I was initially worried after reading reviews following the renovation, most of the issues mentioned in the reviews had been improved, making it a very pleasant stay. Unfortunately, it rained continuously this year as well, but I enjoyed indoor activities and board game rentals. The only disappointment was that the coffee in the room had been changed to drip packs. Last year's coffee was so delicious... Looking forward to staying again next year!

Rainy Haimurubushi
After the renewal, it was my first visit to Haimurubushi in a while. Unfortunately, it rained, but the food here is delicious, the staff's service is excellent, and although I didn't use the newly built pool, I was satisfied with the food and service rather than the Facility. Next time, I definitely want to visit in summer.

Very satisfied with the hospitality.
After six years, I visited again for the first time since the renewal. At the remote island terminal, I left my luggage at the Haimurubushi counter until ferry time and took a ferry at 3 PM. From Kohama Port, I arrived via shuttle bus. Since my Room was an Ocean View Suite, I was guided to a private lounge by cart immediately after getting off the shuttle bus. The staff were very polite and attentive throughout my stay, often checking in with me, which was greatly appreciated. They even suggested dinner times to match live events and lounge hours. The Room was spacious and user-friendly. Laundry status could be checked on TV, and it featured a cashless washer-dryer combo—very convenient! The newly added pool was beautiful, allowing enjoyment of both the sea and pool. Breakfast was a picnic breakfast enjoyed in-room while taking in scenic views at leisure. Even after checkout, carts were available for use; however, having fully enjoyed my stay by then, I left Kohama Island at 11 AM. The hospitality here was truly outstanding!

Unchanging Hospitality
Third Stay at Haimurubushi Despite concerns from critical reviews after the renovation, I was relieved to find the same well-maintained scenery and hospitality. **Positive Points After Renovation:** - Pre-check-in made the arrival process smoother. - The citrus detox water in the lobby, available at certain times, was delicious. - The pool was cleaner and divided into family and adult areas, allowing for a more relaxing experience. - Rental electric bicycles were upgraded to new models. - Free bottled water service was very convenient during our stay. - Paid laundry machines could be monitored from the Room, and being new, they were pleasant to use. **Disappointing Points After Renovation:** *Breakfast:* - The buffet layout had poor flow (as mentioned in Reviews), which I found quite inconvenient firsthand. - Removal of carts and trays made it very inconvenient. - There wasn’t enough space to place plates while serving food; holding a heavy plate with one hand while serving food was challenging (even if trays return, there’s no space for them unless the serving area is improved). Additionally, soups or salads placed at higher levels were hard to reach and sometimes spilled—more consideration for shorter guests or elderly visitors would be appreciated. *Quiet Pool:* One individual swam continuously for over 1.5 hours as if using it as a gym pool; this likely disturbed other guests who came to enjoy a peaceful atmosphere with beautiful ocean views. Staff should address such behavior that deviates from Quiet Pool's intended purpose. *Other Notes:* - Since there is no Room service available, takeout options from cafes or restaurants are essential for dining comfortably in your Room. - Kick scooters seem more suitable than electric bicycles for exploring Kohama Island fully; it’s disappointing that kick scooters are no longer offered—I even obtained a moped license just to ride them here previously. I hope these issues can be addressed so we can continue enjoying an even better experience in future stays!

Renovated & Updated
I have always enjoyed staying here, and I was excited to visit again after its renewal under the Mitsui Fudosan Group. Not only were the facilities upgraded, but I could also clearly feel the improvement in the dining experience. The Steak and Grill offered a dining experience that stood out from typical resort meals. I found myself wanting to have dinner here every evening during my stay. I could sense the dedication of the long-time staff members. However, there were a few slightly disappointing moments with some of the activity crew, possibly due to differences in motivation. Since guests come here to enjoy themselves, ensuring a pleasant and enjoyable experience is key. Overall, I felt that the resort has been elevated to a higher level under the Mitsui Fudosan Group. Best regards.

Class Change, Not Power-Up
This was my 4th or 5th visit, but my first time after the renewal. I visited without checking any Reviews beforehand and had a satisfying stay. Overall Impression The main difference after the renewal is the change in atmosphere. Rather than simply improving and enhancing the previous concept, it seems that there has been a shift or addition to their target audience, resulting in this new atmosphere. For repeat guests who were familiar with the previous concept, these changes might feel like a disruption of what they once loved. However, for those who can embrace these changes or for first-time visitors, the renewed Hotel offers satisfaction. Those who feel disconnected from this new direction may not return, and it seems unlikely that resources will be allocated to win them back. Personally, I was able to accept these changes and enjoyed my stay. Notable Changes After Renewal ◯ Positive Points - Three newly added pools by the beach: (I previously experienced times when swimming in the sea wasn’t possible due to waves; however, with pools available now, you can enjoy swimming without such concerns.) * The seamless view of both sea and pool is stunning! Being able to use them late into the night is fantastic as well! This design truly evokes a global standard luxury Hotel vibe with great Instagram-worthy potential.* - Mobile ordering at beach café: * It would be even better if food images were included on menus.* - Major renovations of central facilities like reception areas: * These now have a modern and sophisticated ambiance.* ◯ Negative Points - Removal of hanging chairs from Kachibai building (one of my favorite spots—please consider bringing them back!) - Laundry service now requires payment (cash not accepted). - Discontinuation of electric kickboards: * It would be nice if some form of electric mobility could still be offered—not just electric bicycles.* - Elimination of casual dinner menu at Beach Café. - Replacement/removal of Banari Terrace by paid cabanas near pools instead. Conclusion My honest impression is that opinions on this renewal will likely vary greatly among guests. Before its renovation, staying here felt like being fully immersed in an extraordinary experience throughout your visit; however now certain aspects give off more commercial vibes—for example replacing free swings on beaches with paid cabanas highlights such shifts clearly. That said—the staff remains excellent as always alongside its unbeatable location!

Early Anniversary Celebration for Couples
The meals were very delicious. The staff's service was excellent. When I fell ill, they kindly provided shuttle service to the hospital with a smile, despite the inconvenience. They were also very attentive to my melon allergy during meals.

The Luxury of Doing Nothing
I have stayed here more than 10 times. In July, I stayed for 2 nights in the Tida Suite on its renewal opening day. This time, for a company trip, we booked three rooms in the Pavilion building for 2 nights. I love the Yaeyama Islands and visit at least once a year—this is my third visit this year and over 10 years of coming here. While these are subjective opinions, they also include feedback from employees and some knowledge of nearby accommodations, so there is some level of objectivity as well. This is one of my favorite accommodations. The first time I used the large public bath was unforgettable. The beach, pool, room—all offer a luxurious experience of doing nothing but relaxing. Children can enjoy activities like swimming in the pool or at the beach, visiting an insect museum or water buffalo pond, and even horseback riding experiences. Some reviews mention that "the food could be better," but I find it more than satisfactory. There are buffet or teppanyaki options for dinner; additionally, shuttle service to delicious local izakayas nearby is available. This time was my first experience with their dinner buffet—it was enjoyable! Also appreciated is their counter at Ishigaki Island's ferry terminal where they can store your luggage. Previously I've stayed in oceanfront rooms such as Tida Suite, Sannin Building rooms & Deigo Building ones exclusively; however during this stay opted instead towards Pavilion accommodation wondering whether views might lack direct sea-sightlines yet pleasantly surprised discovering beautiful ocean glimpses through trees! For those debating between staying here versus neighboring resorts like R****a*** K*****jima Resort: without hesitation recommend choosing Haimurubushi! After trying both (two nights Haimurubushi followed by one night next door), everyone unanimously agreed “Haimurubushi wins.” While neighboring resort offers charming room ambiance appealing certain preferences lacking features such absence public baths golf-cart accessibility makes me strongly favor recommending Haimurubushi instead! One note regarding cart-inclusive plans offered alongside non-cart alternatives: highly suggest opting carts-included package ensuring seamless exploration property grounds comfortably convenient manner possible especially given expansive layout overall premises themselves accommodating diverse needs alike guests seeking memorable stays alike across board entirely satisfying experiences guaranteed assuredly

It was a disappointing renovation.
Since my daughter was born, we have stayed here for an extended period every year. This time, the accommodation cost was higher due to renovations, but as it is our family's favorite hotel, we stayed for 5 nights this year as a tradition. We were very much looking forward to our stay but were honestly disappointed. If there are no improvements next year, we will consider not staying again. Main points of dissatisfaction: - Breakfast: The buffet-style breakfast used to include a variety of drink options and foods like fried chicken that children love. There was also a corner where you could make your own sea grape or tuna and salmon roe bowls, which has now been removed. By the second day, we found it repetitive. Honestly, there is no need for staff making omelets or French toast; we hope the previous offerings can be reinstated. - Room: The terrace had a large amount of mouse droppings. Although it was cleaned upon request, more droppings appeared the next day, making it unusable. - Facility: The single-rider electric scooters were gone. My daughter and I had to use a two-seater bike while my wife used a regular bicycle to explore the island; however, due to physical exhaustion, we couldn't complete one full lap. - Pool: The infinity pool was excellent! However, the sauna had age restrictions so we couldn’t leave our child alone and only managed to check its exterior. - Staff: International staff members have been hired but maintained their attentive service and polite hospitality as before—an excellent team overall. - Overall impression: Who is this accommodation targeting? It feels like just another generic hotel now. We used to recommend this place by name even among friends with children; unfortunately, it's no longer somewhere we'd suggest staying at in its current state. We hope improvements will be made so that someday it becomes a place we'd love to visit again!

Fun for both adults and children!
It was our first time visiting Kohama Island. We chose this hotel with the hope of making the most of our trip after a long journey, and we were absolutely satisfied! Upon arrival, the shuttle service provided complimentary brown sugar and wet towels, which was a delightful touch. The stylish and open lobby made a great first impression. Although we arrived before check-in time, we were allowed to use the pool facilities, which thrilled our kids. We also appreciated being notified via text message as soon as our room was ready. The hotel had multiple pools—some for families with children and others exclusively for adults—allowing us to let the kids play freely without worry. It was also very convenient to borrow float rings and beach toys for children (helpful when trying to pack light). The room was spacious, impeccably clean, and safe even for crawling babies who tend to put everything in their mouths (no steps at the entrance either—a big plus!). Having a freezer in addition to a refrigerator was another great feature! All restaurants at the hotel served delicious meals starting from breakfast. For lunch, we enjoyed Okinawan-style dishes, while dinner featured course meals at their steak & grill restaurant (the wine selection here is excellent too). Not only was the food amazing but so were the views; spending mornings, afternoons, and evenings within the hotel felt like an experience in itself thanks to its beautiful scenery and open atmosphere. The staff's warm greetings and attentive service added greatly to our stay (when one of my kids spilled snacks in our room right after check-in, I called asking for cleaning supplies but instead received prompt assistance from staff who vacuumed it up quickly—thank you!). Other thoughtful amenities included washing machines with detergent (paid; likely cashless), free spin dryers, water dispensers with complimentary portable tumblers available for borrowing—all incredibly helpful when traveling with small children. While there seemed to be many activities offered by the hotel, I highly recommend their stargazing tour! Although it rained lightly during our session so stars weren’t very visible, listening to fascinating stories from the guide while lying on individual beach beds under nature’s vast sky made it worthwhile. Seeing so many smiles on my children's faces created unforgettable memories. I’d love to return someday just as adults for a different kind of experience!

Third Stay at Haimurubushi
This was our third time at Haimurubushi, and our first visit after the renovation. We had high expectations, but it exceeded them! The facility was beautifully updated, the buffet quality improved significantly, and everything was delicious. Above all, the newly added Quiet Pool was absolutely amazing. We had made a reservation for the Sunset Cruise but couldn’t board due to group size limitations. However, we were delighted when they suggested a private ride on a traditional Japanese boat instead. Additionally, during the evening buffet, I casually mentioned to my husband that there wasn’t any iced café latte available. To my surprise, a staff member overheard and brought one directly to our table! Even while playing in the pool during sudden rain showers (squalls), they brought us fresh towels without us even asking—such incredible attention to detail! We’d love to visit twice every year!

The sea and pool were wonderful.
It was a one-night stay with dinner and a cart included. The sea in Kohama Island is even more beautiful than Ishigaki, which was surprising. The staff were friendly, and we enjoyed the three pools and the beach. However, I think there is room for improvement with the (alcoholic) drinks. The glasses of wine and awamori were slightly expensive, and it would be nice to have options like a single serving of sake or half bottles of wine. After dinner, I bought a bottle of awamori at the shop (as a Gold member, up to 3,000 yen was free) and enjoyed it in my Room. Other than that, everything was almost perfect. I would love to come back again!

The ultimate paradise unlike any other Hotel!
This was our second stay. We were worried about the typhoon, but the weather cleared up and we had a wonderful time! We’ve stayed at many luxury Resort Hotels on Okinawa’s main island and other islands, but after this renovation, Haimurubushi has become our No. 1. It may not be flashy, but you can truly feel Okinawa’s nature and relax at an unhurried pace in a simple, authentic setting. - The two-tier main pool was great for enjoying an infinity pool surrounded by nature with our children. - We also used the adults-only quiet pool, which has a sauna and cold plunge. Spending time there with the sound of the wind and waves was incredible. - In summer, many pools in Okinawa feel lukewarm, but this new pool was refreshingly cool—perfect! I heard it becomes a hot pool in winter. - There were various Reviews about dining so we were a bit concerned, but personally it was much better than before. The breakfast buffet tasted better too, and when things got hectic with kids, the staff supported us. For dinner we had steak & grill—meat, fish, and wine were all delicious! We also had lunch twice with friends’ family: burgers, Bolognese pasta, grandma-style rice balls (onigiri), sandwiches, Agu pork fried rice—everything felt very Okinawan and was excellent. - The renovated Room was spacious and clean. They even provide slippers for going out onto the terrace so you can truly unwind. - Since I carry my own bottle daily, having water dispensers around the property was very convenient. Waste is a serious issue on remote islands, so this is a great initiative. Rental bottles were free as well. - Laundry machines are now paid service, but they’re cleaner; you can check availability on the TV; and making them paid seems to have reduced unnecessary use—overall it felt easier to use. - My wife had a spa treatment—the view from the spa sounded like something you can’t experience at other hotels. She said the steam sauna and aromas were wonderful and deeply relaxing. - We used the large public bath around sunset and after dark—the sunset from the open-air bath (rotenburo) and then the starry sky were amazing! - While snorkeling we saw lots of fish including clownfish. It seemed slightly cloudy after the typhoon… but still beautiful enough. Looking forward to next time! - If I could ask for one thing: rather than changes to breakfast or bringing back free services, I think it would be even better with more hospitality-focused service and communication tailored to each guest. Our kids are already saying they want to go back to Haimurubushi—we will definitely return!

Good.
I stayed for 3 nights, but it was such a wonderful place that I wished I could have stayed for at least a week. The view from the room and the facilities truly embodied what you would expect from a Resort Hotel. Traveling with children, we were impressed by the attentive service and how kind they were to our kids. Although due to the typhoon we could only enjoy the ocean for one day and most activities were canceled, it still felt like 3 nights weren't enough during this delightful 4-day stay. I definitely want to visit again. One point of improvement would be regarding meals. We tried both the buffet and steakhouse in the evening, but honestly, I felt that the buffet lineup was worth around 6,000 yen or less. Since there are almost no dining options on the island, guests will likely rely heavily on buffets; however, with limited variety, it can get repetitive after just 1-2 days. As I'd love to stay longer next time, I hope for an increase in menu variety!

Family Trip
We stayed as a family of three generations, 10 people in total, divided into three Ocean View Bath Suites. Despite the unfortunate typhoon, we had a wonderful experience with delicious meals, cart rides, and enjoying the sea and pool surrounded by nature. Thank you very much. There were two disappointing points: 1. The cleanliness of the Room. While it may be unavoidable inside the Room, there was an ant trail right at the entrance when we opened the door. When we informed a staff member about it, their only response was "Oh yes..." Additionally, when soaking in the bathtub, I found an empty bath salt packet under the outdoor shower area—possibly left by previous guests—which was very disappointing. It seemed like cleaning hadn't been done properly for that area; hence we decided not to use the outdoor bath this time. 2. The attitude of a male staff member at the restaurant counter. When I asked him where lunch could be taken within Hotel premises and from what time it would be available (he was tall with glasses), he responded in an irritated manner as if annoyed by my question—it made me feel quite sad as though I had done something wrong myself! Upon reflection later on—it appeared he might have been busy working on something else but still chose not to step away nor delegate assistance elsewhere instead. Other than these two issues mentioned above—the Facility overall impressed us greatly alongside warm-hearted service provided throughout our stay! Special thanks go out especially towards one Parisian-born team member who kindly interacted warmly even offering bananas making children happy beyond measure while another gentleman serving steak went above expectations preparing fruit plates catering dietary restrictions touching hearts deeply alike proactive Poolside Staff predicting needs ahead ensuring smooth experiences altogether contributing positively toward memorable journeys shared fondly forevermore! Thank You So Much Once Again!!

Please restore the pleasant sandy beach experience.
I visited after two years for the grand reopening. The new pool and beach sofas were indeed lovely, but the beach felt overly leveled by machinery, making it impossible to lie on the cool sand and gaze at the stars, which was a bit disappointing. Additionally, it was unfortunate that the "Beauty Fermentation Course" (perfect for today's health-conscious era starting with the three kings of fermentation) was no longer offered, as the restaurant now focuses mainly on steak grills. The Sunset Plaza offers a breathtaking view of Iriomote Island with a magical sunset and even swings to enjoy; however, benches covered in bird droppings felt like such a waste for this Instagram-worthy spot. The Ocean View Room is fantastic, but I noticed that the glass door in the bathroom hits against the bathtub—a design oversight that could lead to breakage without shock absorption measures. On our room terrace, bird droppings were noticeable on both railings and outdoor sofas, making it difficult to lean or sit comfortably without caution. The live performance at night was absolutely amazing!

Significant decline in service quality due to management negligence.
We stayed here to celebrate our child's birthday. As repeat guests, we were looking forward to the recent renovations. To conclude, the service provided by the hotel staff was excellent. However, while facilities like the pool have been expanded, overall services seem to have been downgraded under the guise of SDGs and eco-friendliness trends, which felt quite stingy. We came to Kohama Island for an extraordinary experience but left feeling very disappointed. 【Positive Points】 - The service and thoughtfulness of staff at the bus stop, reception desk, and restaurant were outstanding. 【Areas for Improvement】 - The breakfast buffet menu has been reduced; we missed being able to make self-serve dishes like taco rice or seafood bowls from before. Please bring back these options. Also, having large trays as before would save multiple trips for food. - The baby food selection at the buffet was limited to porridge only. Please consider restocking brands like Kewpie or Wakodo as before if you aim to be a baby-friendly hotel. - Nespresso machines are no longer available in rooms; this class of accommodation should restore them instead of offering drip coffee and tea reminiscent of a business hotel. - We stayed in an Ocean View Luxury Room where the toilet felt outdated; upgrading it with modern tankless models like TOTO Neorest would enhance comfort. - Please bring back the giant swing that used to be on the beach—it disappeared with main pool construction but could be reinstalled next to it. - Restore previous Beach Café menu items as there was nothing appealing enough worth ordering this time around. - Provide bottled mineral water in rooms; going back and forth between rooms and water dispensers is inconvenient. - Reintroduce bath towels in public baths as they were available previously. Overall, it feels like management negligence is evident here. While on-site staff are doing their best efforts commendably well, please convey these improvement points directly to Mitsui Fudosan's management team so they can listen sincerely and take action based on customer feedback. Otherwise, loyal repeat guests may continue drifting away. We hope Haimurubishi can return its original charm while evolving into a new version that meets future expectations!

Enjoy the tropical paradise on a vast property.
The expansive grounds are meticulously maintained, creating a dream-like and beautiful facility. The view from the restaurant is stunning, and at night, you can fully enjoy a sky filled with stars. However, due to the rich natural surroundings, despite taking precautions, I was bitten by mosquitoes in several spots. Additionally, moving outdoors between the accommodation building and facilities like the restaurant or large bath resulted in more sun exposure than expected. That said, overall service was excellent, meals were delightful, everything was kept clean and tidy—I would love to visit again.

First visit to Haimurubushi in 45 years. Celebrating a 77th birthday.
It has been a long time since our honeymoon visit to Haimurubushi. Both my spouse and I, now celebrating our 77th birthdays, were excited to return. The renovated Room was absolutely lovely. The view from the window was expansive, allowing us to relax while gazing at the ocean. I am deeply grateful for the head chef's thoughtful gesture of preparing easily digestible meals due to my health condition. Although I regret not being able to enjoy more of the delicious dishes, I hope we can visit again someday.

Why not choose Hoshino Resorts then?
Hoshino Resorts may find Haimurubushi ideal, but it's unclear what Haimurubushi gains by aligning with Hoshino Resorts. The bold rebranding decision to increase prices by 1.5 times has resulted in the impression of a "high-priced yet underwhelming Hotel." Lobby and Common Areas - The welcome drink, reportedly discontinued after the renovation, has returned but is merely a tablespoon of sparkling wine. - The interior resembles shared spaces in an apartment or coworking area—perhaps this is where the "Hoshino Resorts vibe" comes from? - While there’s a water dispenser available, guests are required to rent bottles for 300 yen to drink water—a system that feels unnecessarily stingy. A deposit-based system would be more reasonable. - Coin laundry costs 600 yen per use. It's not just about the fee itself; it feels off-putting when you're already paying 50,000 yen per person and still face additional charges. Pool and Beach Area - Free water was available at the pool but wasn’t labeled as “water,” and paper cups were covered so they couldn’t be freely taken—this seemed like an attempt to encourage drink purchases, which was disappointing. - The new infinity pool is photogenic but raises questions about its necessity given limited water resources that are transported from Iriomote Island. Restaurant and Dining Experience - The food quality was shockingly poor: tough sirloin steak, watery mashed potatoes resembling laundry starch, pizza made with store-bought cheese—all bland and unremarkable flavors including hibiscus lychee jelly dessert... even cakes felt like something from conveyor belt sushi restaurants. - Despite being a buffet-style meal service, it didn’t leave us feeling full; searching for snacks at the shop afterward yielded no appealing options either—disheartening overall. - There’s significant distance between buffet stations & seating areas without trays provided forcing awkward repeated trips carrying small salad bowls etc., leading dishes cooling down quickly compared pre-renovation days where trays/carts existed previously! - Live music leaking into dinner venue sounded amateurish karaoke-like rather than authentic Okinawan folk songs would've been preferable alternative instead

It's disappointing that the concert venue has been downsized.
This was my third visit. It was my first time visiting after the renovation, including the main building, but I was disappointed to find that the swimming area in the beach zone had been significantly reduced, making it difficult to enjoy interactions with the sea and marine life as it is now focused mainly on the pool. My purpose for traveling to Haimurubushi is not only for leisure but also to meet people there and attend Kikuo Tsuchida's concert. However, I found it unfortunate that the concert hall venue had been relocated and downsized, along with a reduction in sound equipment quality. If possible, I would like to see it returned to its original venue. This year as well, my family fully enjoyed Kohama Island, and we look forward to visiting again next year!

We enjoyed a honeymoon-like experience as a couple.
We stayed for the first time as a couple and had a wonderful experience. The room, pool, hospitality of the staff, and activities including interactions with nature and animals were all very satisfying. In particular, the newly renovated Quiet Pool was truly amazing and we could easily spend half a day there. We would love to stay again next time; however, one area we felt could be improved was the dining options. While we were satisfied with the breakfast buffet, lunch choices were limited, and dinner prices were quite high for families. Additionally, for a Multiple Night Stay, the variety was somewhat restricted, making it necessary to dine out on multiple days. The steakhouse dinner was delicious with excellent service; however, including drinks for two people cost approximately 30,000 yen. It would be great if there were lighter meal plans or alternative restaurants besides buffets so that guests could enjoy more relaxed dining within the hotel premises. Overall though, we were very satisfied and look forward to staying again!
